LUT-yliopisto on Lahdessa ja Lappeenrannassa toimiva monitieteinen tiedeyliopisto, joka antaa opetusta tekniikan, kauppatieteiden ja yhteiskuntatieteiden aloilla.Nyt LUT-yliopistolle suunnitellaan kauppatieteellisen koulutuksen merkittävää vahvistamista Lahdessa. LUT-yliopiston kauppakorkeakoulun dekaani Sami Saarenketo muistutti Radio Voimalla keskiviikkona, että LUT-yliopisto on kehittynyt vahvasti Lahdessa viimeisen viiden-kuuden vuoden aikana erityisesti insinööritieteiden puolella.- Nyt on tarkoitus saada lisävirtaa kauppatieteisiin. Tahtotilana meillä on kasvattaa nykyisten maisteriohjelmien lisäksi kauppatieteiden kandidaattikoulutus ja jos saamme resurssoinnin kuntoon, niin jo syksyllä 2026.Lahden kaupunki on ollut Saarenkedon mukaan merkittävä priimusmoottori keskusteluissa, eikä hän suoraan avaa muita keskusteluissa mukana olevia toimijoita.- Asiat on kesken, mutta meillähän on alueen toimijat aikaisemminkin tukeneet LUT:n toimintaa ja koulutusta, puhutaan sitten vaikka Osuuskaupasta, pankeista, eri säätiöistä, vaikka Kollin säätiöstä, Teollisuusseuran säätiöstä, Kauppakamarista ja muista, Saarenketo luettelee ja jatkaa.- Tässä on ollut iso joukko toimijoita mukana koko LUT:n toiminnan tukemisessa Lahdessa viimeisen viiden-kuuden vuoden aikana. Osa tämäntyyppisiä toimijoita on nyt tässäkin avauksessa keskusteluissa mukana, Saarenketo kertoi.Dekaani kuvailee LUT:ia pääkaupunkiseudun ulkopuoliseksi kompaktin kokoiseksi haastajayliopistoksi.- Rehtorimme sanoo joskus, että LUT on Suomen yliopistokentän positiivinen häirikkö, jutteli hyväntuulisesti ja avasi tämän tarkoittavan esimerkiksi sitä, että LUT on hyvin ketterä.- Veikkaan, että muutamissa näissä isoimmissa yliopistoissa tällaisen toiminnan avaaminen saattaisi kestää hieman pidempään, mutta me saamme asioita nopeasti ja laadukkaasti liikkeelle.Kuuntele koko haastattelu.
