Special Guest Carly Pepin https://www.westcoastgrowthadvisors.com/podcast-gift In this episode, I had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Carly Pepin—an extraordinary business strategist and mindset expert—who helps founders and C-suite teams scale their companies not just with numbers, but with heart, purpose, and clarity. What stood out most in our conversation was Carly's view that business is not just a money-making vehicle—it's a personal development journey. I couldn't agree more. She works primarily with leaders in construction, hospitality, and manufacturing, helping them navigate growth by aligning strategic frameworks with powerful psychological insights. We talked in depth about her comprehensive approach, which focuses on four core areas: cash, strategy, execution, and people. But the game-changer? Carly brings in the lens of psychology. She explains how emotional equilibrium—the constant dance between pride and shame—can drive or derail a company's success. When leaders understand this, they can make better decisions, stay grounded, and build stronger teams. One of my favorite moments was when Carly shared how culture isn't just about values on a wall—it's about recognizing those values in action. I loved her example of a Polaroid wall showcasing team wins. These small practices create real emotional alignment and reinforce a sense of purpose. We also explored why many businesses stall. Often, it's not about cash flow—it's about misaligned vision, unclear strategy, or unaddressed mindset blocks like imposter syndrome. Carly's method digs deep to reveal the real obstacles, not just the surface-level symptoms. Key Takeaways from My Conversation with Carly: Business growth starts with delivering true value — not just chasing profit. Scaling requires both strategy and inner alignment with your team and yourself. Emotional dynamics like pride and shame are always at play — learn to recognize and balance them. You don't have to have it all figured out — but having a coach helps you see what's really going on. A misalignment in people or execution might look like a cash problem — but it's not.

From her early years investigating extremist groups, to making Michigan's motor vehicle department a national model for government efficiency, Jocelyn has defied preconceived notions of what is possible in public service. A fearless advocate for Michigan, Jocelyn will bring accountability, people-driven solutions and a progressive vision for Michigan's future to make our state the best place to be a kid, raise a kid, stay, and call home. The daughter of two special education teachers and raised in a working-class family, her parents instilled the values of hard work, opportunity, and serving others. She took those values with her when, as a student at Wellesley College, she was the first college student ever to be elected to the governing body for the town of Wellesley, Massachusetts. After college, Jocelyn went to Alabama to investigate undercover domestic terrorist cells that had emerged following the Oklahoma City bombing, then to the United Kingdom where she studied the international links of modern, white supremacist and neo-Nazi movements, and finally to Detroit, where she continued her commitment of service and civil rights through a clerkship with the Honorable Damon J. Keith. At 35 she was appointed dean of Wayne State University Law School, making her the youngest woman to lead an accredited law school in American history. As Dean she raised significant funds to ensure all students could pay for their education, lowered costs by freezing tuition and expanding scholarships, and built a team rooted in honesty, integrity, and service of people. As a result Wayne Law became one of the country's leading law schools. When Jocelyn became Secretary of State in 2019, she got to work on day 1 to make life easier for every Michigander. Under her leadership, operations at the Secretary of State's Office drastically improved, and the department went from having some of the longest wait times in the country to a model for state services. She eliminated wait times, created over 150 self-service stations to serve Michiganders in every corner of the state, all while implementing initiatives to make Michigan's elections the most secure and accessible in the nation. And, in the face of threats to both herself and her colleagues, Jocelyn oversaw two of the highest turnout and most transparent elections in the state's history. Jocelyn knows firsthand that the government only works well if it works for the people. Join us Monday's and Thursday's at 8EST for our Bi Weekly Happy Hour Hangout's ! Special Guest: Robin Waite In this episode of Podcast Profits Unleashed, I sit down with Robin Waite, business coach and founder of Fearless Business. Robin shares his journey from running a thriving marketing agency to creating a coaching practice that helps entrepreneurs reclaim their time and boost their revenue. After experiencing burnout as an agency owner, Robin discovered his passion for high-level business strategy and coaching, leading him to establish Fearless Business. Today, he empowers business owners to refine their systems, overcome fear, and achieve sustainable growth. We dive deep into why every business should be designed to be sellable—even if selling isn't on the horizon—and how focusing on freedom and fulfillment can drive long-term success. Robin also unpacks his strategies for scaling businesses effectively, making more money with fewer clients, and tackling the mindset challenges that often hold entrepreneurs back. Key Takeaways from My Conversation with Robin Waite: Productizing Services Simplifies Selling: I learned how creating a clear, fixed price for your services—like buying a car with optional add-ons—makes it easier for clients to understand and invest in your offer. For instance, designing a website that generates 15-20 leads per month for $5,000 is an example of value-based pricing at work. The Problem with Hourly Rates: Robin sees hourly rates as outdated and even unethical, urging entrepreneurs to shift to value-based pricing to align client goals with sustainable business growth. Breaking Free from Money Mindset Blocks: We explore how early money conditioning impacts pricing decisions and how societal norms around scarcity can limit your ability to scale. Employee to Entrepreneur to Investor Mindset: Many entrepreneurs struggle to transition from trading time for money to focusing on value creation. Robin explains how the next step is adopting an investor mindset, leveraging others' skills, and building passive income streams. Why Goal Setting Must Evolve: Strategies for scaling to $100K revenue differ significantly from scaling to $1M. Robin emphasizes the need for long-term vision and intentional planning to build wealth. Join us as we uncover actionable strategies and insights to help you scale your business fearlessly and reclaim what matters most—freedom and fulfillment! In last year's cohort of EVOLVE, the group coaching and mastermind that I offer once a year, we spent an entire month talking about nothing other than our relationship to money and its impact on our practice. Students later told me that this was one of the most powerful segments of their journey through the program - and I wasn't surprised. Understanding your personal money story is critical to your success in every way. So, today I want to share some of what they experienced with you. In this episode, I'm going to walk you through a series of questions to guide you as you reflect on your relationship to money. We'll explore what you've learned over time, what beliefs may have been created as a result, and how this might be impacting your success today. But to make the most of this episode, you have to engage with it. What do I mean by that? I mean stop the audio after each question. Spend some time with your journal and your thoughts, your memories and your observations. You'll learn so much more from this if you actually implement what I suggest here. And then, let's rewrite those old stories for something better - something MUCH better. Give it a listen... ~Wendy xoxoP.S. HEADS UP, Y'ALL: If the deeper work that this kind of reflection brings appeals to you, or if you just find yourself struck by how much there is to learn as you grow your own Ideal Practice, consider joining us in this year's EVOLVE mastermind. I remember doing a past episode on the different reasons for childlessness. And I recall discussing the fact that there are many reasons for childlessness. You mention in your bio that being in an abusive relationship caused you to take contraceptives so you wouldn't get pregnant by your partner. Can you speak a little more on that because I know there are listeners who can probably relate. Tell us how best to deal with unsympathetic doctors. Did you get a second opinion? What caused you to create World Childless Week? How do we get involved, where do we listen? Tell us about the letters that were recently created, for libraries and for jobs. On your website, you mention that one week per year World Childless Week shows up to remind us how we matter, but that you are available year-round. What does the platform do for the rest of the year? Give us a final word of encouragement for the childless not by choice community, and tell us how we can find you on social. BIO: Stephanie spent a large part of her twenties in an abusive relationship and took the contraceptive pill to ensure children would not be born into that situation. In her early thirties, she met her husband-to-be but they didn't try to conceive until nearing forty. At the age of 39, she was told by an unsympathetic doctor "If he manages to get you pregnant it is highly unlikely you'll carry the full term". She knew at that moment, she would never be a mum. In 2016 Stephanie Joy Phillips founded three childless support groups on Facebook: Childless Path To Acceptance focuses on support, Childless Chit Chat is a trigger-free zone, and Childless Perks!! is all about laughter and finding the positives of being childless, without a parent saying 'I told you so'. In 2017 after realising there was no national recognition of the childless community she founded World Childless Week. Seven days that enables the childless community to have a platform where they can find their voice and share their stories with confidence. Steph lives in Worcestershire with her husband and two rescue cats, Storm and Tea-Cup. She enjoys gardening, arts and crafts, a good book, dining out, and relaxing in front of the television with a puzzle book and one of her two cats snuggled up beside her". The Power of Plant-Based Eating: Insights from My Conversation with Wanda Huberman As the host of the "Plant-Based Eating for Health" podcast show, I had the incredible opportunity to interview Wanda Huberman, the Executive Director of the National Health Association (NHA). Our conversation provided valuable insights into Wanda's personal journey, the mission of the NHA, and the upcoming 75th anniversary conference. Wanda's Transformative Journey Wanda shared how her journey began over three decades ago when she met her husband, who was already involved with the NHA. Through attending conferences, reading books, and engaging with experts, Wanda gradually transitioned from a conventional diet to vegetarianism and eventually embraced a fully plant-based lifestyle. Her motivation expanded beyond personal health to encompass compassion for animals and a desire to create a sustainable future. Understanding Healthy Plant-Based Eating Wanda and I delved into the topic of healthy plant-based eating, clarifying the confusion surrounding different terms associated with plant-based diets. She emphasized the importance of a whole-food, minimally processed approach, focusing on nutrient-rich plant foods. Her daily meal choices include large chopped salads, smoothies packed with greens, and simple, yet flavorful, whole-food meals. Wanda highlighted the simplicity and versatility of plant-based eating, making it accessible to everyone. The Vision of the National Health Association As the Executive Director of the NHA, Wanda expressed her vision for the organization. A primary goal is to reach a diverse audience and expand resources to educate and empower families on plant-based living. The NHA strives to promote diversity, raise awareness about animal welfare, and address environmental concerns. https://healthscience.org Tickets for the Virtual Conference https://veganvisibility.com/NHA-75-vConf

Today, we have a double episode for you — two conversations from the Cerebral Valley AI Summit last week. Part 1: My Conversation with Stability AI CEO Emad MostaqueI didn't know what to make of Stability AI and its CEO Emad Mostaque heading into my conversation with Mostaque Thursday at Cerebral Valley.Mostaque's company has wrapped its arms around the wildly successful open-source artificial intelligence project Stable Diffusion. Last year, Mostaque's company, Stability AI, raised about $100 million from investors. Lightspeed led an investment in the company a $1 billion valuation. Coatue led the previous round. On the other hand, the company has publicly scuffled with fellow Stable Diffusion co-creator Runway. Stability AI got sued by Getty Images. And it's hard to understand exactly how Stability AI plans to profit off its proximity to Stable Diffusion. Is it just a really hyped AI consulting company?Mostaque himself is a man of mystery. He's a former hedge fund investor who has situated himself at the heart of generative AI. He makes big pronouncements. There are whispers that Stability AI is raising another big funding round and is in talks with a big tech company partner. On stage, Mostaque didn't dismiss the idea that the company might partner with Apple. Mostaque also said that he intended to take Stability AI public, insisting that the public markets want to get behind the AI trend. Bloomberg wrote about it. The Cerebral Valley AI Summit is presented bySamsung Next invests in the boldest and most ambitious founders.Tell us about your company. We'd love to meet.I won't tell you how to feel about the conversation. Some people afterward told me that they were impressed by Mostaque's performance and conviction. Mostaque had signed the letter calling for a pause in AI development — a surprising stance for someone who helped launch the generative AI craze. He was among the most electric speakers at Cerebral Valley. At the same time, some well-connected attendees told me off the record that they don't believe Mostaque's pronouncements. He can be short on specifics and big on promises. I found it hard to pin him down on many of the details of his business. The AI world is watching to see what happens next. Give it a listen.Part 2: My Conversation with General Catalyst's Deep NisharStarting at 30:33, you can listen to my interview with General Catalyst's lead growth investor Deep Nishar. A former executive at Google and LinkedIn and then one of the top investors at the SoftBank Vision Fund, Nishar has had a front seat at the table for many of the developments in the technology industry.Human health — and how artificial intelligence can shape it — was at the heart of our conversation. Somewhere in the magic formula that makes great art is the internal potential for pain. Someone once said of artists that they were like the rest of us, except that their emotions were just always sitting closer to the surface…. more accessible, more sensitive, and more vulnerable to pain, despair, and even suicide. The stories of people like Kurt Cobain, Van Gough, Virginia Woolf, Hemingway, Sylvia Plath, and Hunter Thompson, while all different, reinforce the image and reality of the tortured artist. Add to this list, Anthony Bourdain. A complicated artist in so many ways, he would suffer a similar fate. But we should also remember that while all these stories have the same ending, each artist and their journey tells us more and more about ourselves and about the human condition. This is the story that Charles Leerhsen tell in Down and Out in Paradise: The Life of Anthony Bourdain. My Conversation with Charles Leerhsen:

B. Cox takes a look at R&B and pop icon Janet Jackson's sixth studio album The Velvet Rope, as it turns 25. On the heels of negotiating and signing the biggest record label contract in history and her successful album tour from her fifth album Janet, the superstar suffered a nervous breakdown. Plagued depression driven by childhood issues, body dysmorphia, eating disorders and troubles in her not-yet-public marriage, she took time to regroup and decided to open up her very private life and explore this issues on record.Working with longtime collaborators, the production duo of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, she wrote the album with her then-husband Rene Elizondo. Within the 22 tracks, she explored issues such as same sex relationships, self doubt, accountability, domestic violence, AIDS, LGBTQ issues, loneliness, despair and redemption. While not initially embraced by the critics, the album was a boom commercially, being certified triple platinum and selling over 8 million copies worldwide. Two of its singles, "Together Again" and "I Get Lonely" placed within the Billboard Top 100 Top 5 with "Together" reaching the No. 1 spot for two weeks.Since its release, critics and fans alike praised Jackson for her transparency, vulnerability and strength in addressing such hot issues, while also lauding the production and lyrics. The album has been called everything from her magnum opus to one of the most important musical works on the 1990s -- regardless of genre.Visit The Vault Classic Music Reviews Onlinewww.vaultclassicpod.comSupport The Vault Classic Music Review on Buy Me A Coffeehttps://www.buymeacoffee.com/vaultclassicpodShow NotesAlbumism: Janet's Jackson's 'The Velvet Rope' Turns 20 | Anniversary Retrospectivehttps://albumism.com/features/tribute-celebrating-20-years-of-janet-jackson-the-velvet-ropeThe Things: What Janet Jackson Revealed About Herself On 'The Velvet Rope" Albumhttps://www.thethings.com/what-janet-jackson-revealed-about-herself-on-the-velvet-rope-album/The BoomBox: 'The Velvet Rope was a Challenging Record' My Conversation with Jimmy Jamhttps://theboombox.com/velvet-rope-was-a-challenging-record-my-conversation-with-jimmy-jam/Nylon: 20 Years Later, Janet Jackson's 'The Velvet Rope' Still Deserves Praise. https://www.nylon.com/articles/janet-jackson-velvet-rope-20th-anniversary25YearsLater: The Velvet Rope: The Queen of R&B's Magnum Opushttps://25yearslatersite.com/2022/02/15/the-velvet-rope-the-queen-of-rbs-magnum-opus/Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-vault-classic-music-reviews-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Big update! The chaos is ending. Listen to this episode's intro for the explanation. This podcast is about to become an archive of old episodes, dedicated to The F*ck It Diet. But before it ends, I need one more chaotic moment: having to repost this episode that I already posted last month. Why? After all of that, trying to merge my old podcast into substack, I decided instead, to "split" my podcasts again, and leave The F*ck It (Diet) Podcast as it's own, standalone archive, that's specific to the food healing journey. This way, it will better be able to support new people who are reading the book, or just finding the information for the first time. But because I had the podcast merged for a few months over on substack, there were a few episodes that were posted on the new substack feed, that were not posted on the old feed. My episode with Irene on our nervous systems is one of them, so now that I've "split" the podcasts, it has to be "reposted" over here again, if I want it to be on this feed. And, I think this episode is really relevant to "The Emotional Part" of The F*ck It Diet. So I want it to be here! You may have already listened to my conversation with Irene back when I posted it last month! If that's the case, you can just listen to my new intro where I explain why I'm ending this podcast, and starting fresh somewhere else. My new podcast will be over at carolinedooner.substack.com (there, you can find the actual podcast link listings. So if you want to find my new podcast on spotify or apple, you're going to have to separately follow me over there!) Also! If you've listened to my conversation with Irene already, she is currently enrolling her yearly program Smart Body, Smart Mind through September 19th, 2022. If you've been wanting to go deep on nervous system and trauma work, make sure to check it out. To get some of her trainings for free, check out her free video series (it's like 2 hours worth of video lessons!). My Conversation with Irene Today I am sharing my conversation with Irene Lyon, a trauma expert, educator, and trained somatic practitioner. We talk about some of the basics of the nervous system, the body holding onto trauma, and some myths and misconceptions about how healing works. If you've read The F*ck It Diet or Tired as F*ck, you know how passionate I am about this method of healing, even though… I have been thinking about how much I should be getting back into focusing on it... And, as I say at the end of the episode, I actually just now am back into focusing on it. I just took Irene's 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up. And I love it all so much, that I am now an affiliate for it. What that means is, if you use my link for her program, and sign up, I will get a commission. As I mentioned above, Irene is currently enrolling her yearly program Smart Body, Smart Mind through September 19th, 2022. If you've been wanting to go deep on nervous system work, make sure to check it out! To go through some of her trainings for free, check out her free trauma healing video series (it's like 2 hours worth of video lessons!) You can also find Irene on instagram here. *** If you're reading the F*ck It Diet book and want some structure + extra belief work + bonus content + 32+ hours of video Q&A replays? You can check out my F*ck It Diet Self-Study, it's the book companion course that uses the book as a text book. Woo.

About Monday Musings www.mondaymusings.org "I began blogging years ago sending my thoughts (Musings) out to my School faculty in an attempt to share my vision, and to open up the lines of communication. They've become somewhat of an expectation over the last many years, and it's fair to say that they've morphed into opportunities for me to address issues, share my educational fairytale, and to celebrate accomplishments with the surrounding school community, and indeed the world. They've also helped me “sharpen the saw” so to speak, as the professional discourse that stems from these posts has allowed me to share ideas and issues with educational leaders from around the globe. I am a featured blogger for THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATOR (TIE online), and you can follow my posts there as well. I'm also an adjunct professor for Endicott College, teaching in their Masters Degree leadership program in Madrid and Prague every summer. Essentially, the Musings are my attempt to stay current, as well as a forum to gain valuable feedback on how to turn a school from good to great. It's an on-going process…over 250 posts and counting and still so much to learn." --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nathan-leslie/message

20. Meditation is Medication - Part Two of My Conversation with Dr. Leigh Erin Connealy My podcast guest this week is part two of my conversation with Dr. C, and she says that Meditation is the Medication. We need to get a better handle on our stress. Stress is a normal part of our day. She is concerned about the long-term chronic stress that will raise our levels of inflammation. When inflammation is high for long periods, our body gets very challenged, and that's how diseases like cancer can occur. She told me how years ago, she went to La Jolla to meditate with Deepak Chopra and walked away thinking, well, nobody will want to do that! Fast forward twenty years, and she tells me the science is clear, Meditation can help you lower your stress levels, lower your levels of inflammation, and help you sleep more soundly. In addition, these benefits will support your immune system so it can do its job-killing invaders such as cancer cells. I know I need to manage my stress better. I'm a hyper person. I was always in trouble for talking too much in school. I was even prescribed Ritalin for a time. I also have a hard time sitting still, but I also want to be a more peaceful person, ahhh! I make Meditation more stressful than it should be. Meditation is just one more item that I don't accomplish on my daily to-do list. Instead of stressing out about how I'm not meditating, I will make it work for me. I'm going to start small: Move my body a bit, go for a short walk or stretch a bit. Get outside. Focus on breathing. I will observe my surroundings and be grateful. What I do to manage my stress might not be a traditional type of meditation but it's a start! Provencal mystery writer M.L. Longworth joins me on the podcast for this year's French Week to share some exciting news about her series. I invited Mary Lou back to the show (see our previous conversations here - ep. #268 - and here - ep. #203) as I recently learned her novels had been optioned for a television series to air on BritBox. Longworth shares many details about the cast, when it will premiere, which books will be included in season one and much more. Be sure to take the tour of Aix-en-Provence she gave me in this post to enjoy a taste of the world of Antoine Verlaque and Marine Bonnet, and tune in to today's episode as she talks about food, shares a delicious recipe AND shares the synopsis for her upcoming 10th mystery and when to expect it to be released. Links mentioned during our conversation: 1st book in her Provençal series - Death at the Chateau Bremont Most recent book in the series (9th) - The Vanishing Museum on the Rue Mistral My most recent Q & A w/M.L. Longworth's Lentil & Duck Breast Salad As shared during episode #310 of The Simple Sophisticate podcast, Provençal mystery writer M.L. Longworth shared a recipe during our conversation that offers a quintessential taste of summer in Provence. 1/2 cup French lentils (cooked) (follow the directions on the package or simply boil in water for about 10-15 minutes, then drain. ) 6 Tbsp walnut oil or vinagriette 2 Tbsp sherry vinegar or red-wine vinegar 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard freshly ground pepper 1-2 cups mache (lamb's tongue lettuce) or watercress (washed and roughly chopped) 1-2 ounces thin slices of cooked duck breast (substitute - prosciutto) Prepare the lentils: add the lentils to water and bring to a boil, simmer for 10-15 minutes until to desired tenderness. Drain out excess water. Prepare the vinegriette: in a small bowl add the vinegar, dijon and then slowly add and whisk in the walnut oil. Finish with freshly ground pepper to taste. If you are unable to find duck and cook yourself (often you can find cooked duck breast in the markets in France), a great substitute is ham or prosciutto - thinly sliced. Divide the vinegriette. Dress the salad with half and then add the lentils to the salad and add gradually the remaining vinegriette to dress the rest of the salad (you may not need to use all of the vinegriette or you may need to make more - just keep the proportions the same). Plate the lentils and lettuce and top with the duck breast. Enjoy with a glass of rosé - bien sûr! ~Sign up for TSLL's Free Weekly Newsletter ~The Simple Sophisticate, episode #310 ~Subscribe to The Simple Sophisticate: iTunes | Stitcher | iHeartRadio | YouTube | Spotify EXPLORE MORE POSTS FROM FRENCH WEEK 2021 4th Giveaway: A Set of Prints from Everyday Parisian's Rebecca Plotnick Q & A with Everyday Parisian's Rebecca Plotnick 3rd Giveaway: A Cozy Francophile Gift Package Why Not . . . John Vervaeke PhD is a Cognitive Scientist and Cognitive Psychotherapist whose work focuses on meaning and the science of wisdom. He's an award-winning lecturer at the University of Toronto, with his classes ranging from psychology, cognitive science to Buddhist psychology. I discovered John and his work through my friend Connor during a time when we were both doing a lot of soul-searching and struggling with the ever-encroaching cloud of nihilism that is modern-day media. When we discovered John's work as well as the work of others in his "corner of the internet", our whole relationship to meaning, story, religion, and life changed. When John agreed to speak with me, I was ecstatic at the chance to finally throw some of the many ideas that had bubbled up inside me during his lectures at him. While there were many more topics I'd originally hoped to hit on, I decided it would be best for our first conversation to try to zero in on the thesis of this whole project and discuss the dynamic of connection with people, things, and life in the age of the internet. If you've been watching the channel for a bit you'll probably have picked up on my frustration with the atmosphere of modern media. I find social media and media in general acting as an attention-sucking soul-harvesting machine, but one that seems to be too integrated into our culture to simply unplug from and maintain the expected level of engagement with the world and culture around me. It feels like a sort of "damned if I do, damned if I don't" problem to me sometimes, and I often have trouble digging myself out of that thought cycle. John was extremely gracious in his listening to my complaining about existence, which I was deeply thankful for. While I appreciate that I can be a bit of a downer, I find that I am simply not satisfied with an answer to difficult questions unless the question has had an appropriate amount of time on the mic to make its case. I really appreciated John patience, and ultimately this ended up feeling more like a therapy session than a conversation at times (which is bound to happen sometimes when talking to a psychotherapist). I had really hoped to talk to John a bit more about Buddhism, Christianity, and Neo-platonism and the common threads between those traditions as well, but we ended up not having enough time to circle around to these topics. Fortunately, we've scheduled a follow up to this conversation, which will be out in several weeks, so be sure to subscribe and keep and eye out for that. My Conversation with Connor MacPhail: My son Connor is a recent college graduate. Like most young adults who have recently graduated college, graduating college in 2021 means spending a big chunk of your college experience during the COVID pandemic. Connor is my son and I'm proud of him. Beyond being proud, I also admire how he handled his college experience during COVID and I admire how he is approaching his first summer post-college graduation. In this episode, Connor discusses how he and his friends made the very most of their college days after COVID started. We also explore how Connor is approaching his post-college days - enjoying life, working at several part-time jobs, and considering full-time job options to start later in the year. The part-time summer jobs Connor has taken up are jobs that connect with his personal passions and are jobs that he can continue on a part-time, or even a full-time basis down the road as he figures out the direction he wants to go in. In other words, Connor doesn't have it all figured out, but he's good with that. In fact, we are both good with that! And, interestingly, he and I know many people who seem to have their entire lives figured out, but then life gets in the way and the best laid plans…. well, we all know that story!
I'm often asked about the kinds of questions applicants should ask potential employers during an interview. Candidates often spend a lot of time preparing these questions because they realize that what they ask tells the interview a lot about their interest in the position. Therefore, you want your questions to be thoughtful and reflective of where you are at in the interview process. In this episode, I'm sharing why these questions are vital to your interview performance and how the questions you ask may make the difference between you being offered the job or not. Plus, I'll share a few tips where you can gather information to formulate those questions, along with my favorite question to ask a hiring manager or interviewer. Plus, I'll share what questions you should not ask. If you have ever wondered what makes a good question and what doesn't, take a few moments to listen to this episode to help you prepare more intentionally for your next interview. To characterize a chameleon, “our heroine has known both holy & horrendous”. Her edits reveal the darker sides of the moon most of us think we don't want to see. Her sets are a collage of her own self: dreamy, strangely healing and infused in mysticism. Such is the complexity that completes C.love, who creates under the names Courtney Rexach, Zouyina, and Sisters of Z. C.love understands her music as an audio pathway to other realities. We see her as a guide, leading us through a gateway to other galaxies to worlds that are tainted with natural elements and delightfully deranging sounds. This next podcast in our Urban Cosmonaut Radio series was named “Le Chemin de l'Hiver”: inspired by the growing length of the dark night, the death and rebirth of the seasons and the fire that lit the mountain studio in which this mixtape was created. A child of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, hailing from LA with roots in Mauguio, France, C.love has selected 25 tracks, none of whom were left untouched by the artist, all of whom reflect her unique flavour. We leave you now with these words, written by the artist herself in a message to you, the listener: “My Conversation with the Mountain goes like listening grows like lichen all over her rocky breasts. My Dance on the Mountain knows like animal trails leading through soft brush shows like swift patterns Leading through the grass. From Earth to Sun From Hips to Lips My voice will carry to the canyon of my home.” Find C.Love on: https://soundcloud.com/cloveontherocks-1 http://www.c-lovemuzic.com/ https://www.facebook.com/C.lovedj Happy New Year, Urban Cosmonauts!!!
