Meanwhile, Sayla confesses that Char is her brother to Bright (forgive me, I forgot to include this in the episode). In this episode I had an early rise to chat with the lovely Sayla one of the founders of Cat Adoption Foundation in Australia. This is a special rescue who rescue, rehome and rehabilitate cats and kittens in needs. Their mission is to create a No-Kill Australia with the help and support of pet owners and the public. Rehoming is not always the best solution for people and often they need a helping hand to enable them to keep their beloved animals. This is an issue particularly when it comes to changes in laws or when landlords impose bans on renters having pets. The organisation is run by an all volunteer team who all have different skill-sets and bring their own something special to the table, making them all rounded and able to work diligently together focusing on the areas they are best suited to.Their mission statement is "Fostering A No Kill Nation" which is a play on words as Sayla explains but really the words say it all as we know fostering saves lives!I hope you will enjoy hearing all about the incredible work this organisation does day to day and how they really make a difference.Happy Listening!Fiona XSupport the show

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin volume 5 is a significant turning point in this epic saga. This volume, titled Char & Sayla, is Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's original material; these stories were not present in the First Gundam anime. There's a lot of political intrigue at play here as we witness the formation of the Principality of Zeon as well as the backstories of Char Aznable and Sayla Mass. It's a longer podcast episode than usual because this particular chapter deserves a close examination. In addition to some general thoughts on the volume as a whole, we also provide a chapter-by-chapter commentary. If you haven't been reading along with us, or if you've never read Gundam: The Origin, try your local library or a local bookseller or comic book store. Volume 5 also contains material that was adapted into the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin anime OVAs (also directed by Yas himself), so if you've watched those, a lot of what we discuss here will make sense. You can even watch the anime (in its recut, television broadcast form) on Crunchyroll. In 2022, our plan is to read through the entirety of Gundam: The Origin. Once a month, we will read and discuss one volume of this manga, the same way we did a full readthrough of Invincible last year.
Welcome to OPERATION GUNDAM HISTORY! Our Hero Fogi and his crew is here to guide you through the Universal Century of Gundam! This time, we are flying through the series that started it all: MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM! This week we're back with Amuro and the White Base crew! We're still on Earth but we are now close to Amuro's hometown. He decides to take a visit to reunite with his mother, but things do not go according to plan. Soon after, our crew meets up with Matilda to receive some news...that ultimately gets them in a sticky situation. To cap off out trio of episodes, Sayla gets her main character moment as she pilots the Gundam in order to find answers. Our journey through the past of the Universal Century continues with Part II of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin – Artesia's Sorrow. Picking up three years after Casval and Artesia fled their homeland of Munzo, the action picks up on Earth in 0071, where a young Edouard and Sayla Mass live peacefully with Don Teabolo Mass and Jimba Ral…for a time. Events conspire to rip peace away from the siblings time and again, and Sayla watches her brother harden into a cold man with the demeanor of a drawn knife. One of the most heart-wrenching installments in the Origin OVA series, Artesia's Sorrow is a fantastic hour with more than enough to make it worth the full podcast treatment, and we once again find countless things to talk about breaking it down. Show Notes This week, we recap, review, and analyze Mobile Suit Gundam episode 38/37 "Char and Sayla" (再会、シャアとセイラ), discuss our first impressions, and provide commentary and research on the Gelgoog’s decidedly low-tech sword, the word “kanchou,” and gold in WWII. - The warrior monks who favored the naginata and nagamaki were closely affiliated with the mythical warrior demons called Tengu. Sayla fucks up and takes the thingy and we yell about it. Amuro is a good pilot, apparently. Whatever.
The White Base takes a lickin' and keeps on kickin', Amuro learns that tragedies can take all sorts of forms, and Mirai takes center stage as the Gundam crew arrive at Side 6 for a variety of misadventures. Also, the race is on for which side will figure out the sordid past of the blonde siblings first as both Sayla and Char start dropping one too many hints that more is going on than they've ever let on.

This course covers material from Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam The Origin and Char's Deleted Affair.
Today we talk about the Mysterious Japan-only Episode 15, and the secrets of Mobile Suit Martial Arts(tm) that are contained within. Amuro shows us why the Guncannon is cool, Sayla shows us that the pilot really makes the mech, and we debate the merits of hamburgers for breakfast.
After visiting the original Mobile Suit Gundam and its recompilation movie, the hosts of the Otaku Spirit Animecast visit the newest retelling and prequel story in Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin. Listen in and get their opinions on the telling of Char and Sayla’s backstory and if it adds new life to the series. As mentioned in the podcast, this copy of Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin: Chronicle of Char and Sayla Blu-ray was provided to us for review by Right Stuf and Sunrise.
