Elise is joined by Alex Meleras to break down season 2 episode 28 of Hannah Montana, "Joannie B. Goode." It's got a beginning, middle, and an end, which places it a cut above some other episodes, and it's also got some great burns, an incredibly fake snake, little bits of lore, and an extremely cursed b-plot. Elise and Alex also discuss Billy Ray's failure to understand slang, potential future Joanie stories, various Disney Mania covers, and more. We've reached the end of our journey through time with the final installment of the Fear Street Trilogy: Fear Street 1666. In the exciting conclusion, we learn the truth of Sarah Fier and her gal pal Hannah. Was Sarah the witch they say she was, or was she merely another victim of the Shadyside Curse? We also talk about Stormy's exciting adventures as a college professor, and Sam continues to schill her mediocre play--which premiers October 7, 2021 in Columbus, OH at MadLab theatre. Very exciting. According to the NCAA, only 3 percent of high school football players make it to Division 1. And of those players, less than 2 percent make it to the NFL. Getting there is hard enough. Locking down one of only 32 long snapper spots seems impossible. So how did Brett Goode go from snapping against the goal posts in high school to walking on at Arkansas, lasting a decade in the NFL and winning a Super Bowl title? To him, it was just hard work and a determination to live out a life-long dream. And along the way, he got to be a part of some incredible moments at Arkansas, and was a part of some incredible teams. That helped prepare him for the NFL: His first game was Aaron Rodgers' debut with the Packers on Monday Night Football. That game was the first of 152 in the NFL for Goode, who won a Super Bowl along the way. It's a storybook career for a guy who found a niche in high school and worked hard to become one of the 32 best in the world.
The wait is over, we're back with Season 6 and it's going to be bigger and better than ever! Jim and Goodey predict this season's Premiership Top 4 as well as giving their guesses for who's going to finish last. We're joined by Racing 92, Scotland and British and Irish Lions star Finn Russell, who gives us his debrief from the South Africa tour, his third test performance and has his say on who should be England's number 10. We also introduce a new segment ' Guess the Go-At' and cover Australia's win over South Africa, some big transfer rumours and all the Goode, Bad and Ugly. It's great to be back! Today, we're introducing a new series to the podcast - Client Coaching! Julie is chatting with Dr. David Goode-Cross about the challenges in his own business and how to tackle each problem including onboarding new clinicians, best practice when scaling his practice, and investing in real estate. Dr. David Goode-Crosse is the owner and a psychotherapist at East Towson Psychological Services, located outside of Baltimore, Maryland. His practice specializes in working with the LGBTQ+ community, as well as people of color. David also enjoys mentoring new clinicians who are entering their professional fields from their educational programs, and offers them a vast amount of knowledge to help them excel their competence with working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients. Episode Highlights: Client Coaching Focus #1 - Onboarding New Clinicians & Their PayWhen onboarding new clinicians on a part-time of full-time basis, it's important to determine if you will pay them immediately or once services have been completedIf you would like to be proactive in building your new clinician's case loads, you can start a wait list ahead of time specifically for new clinicians. This can also help you prepare for client retention and can give the clinician a great baseline to develop their own market of clients.Client Coaching Focus #2 - ScalingWhen you're determining how large you want to scale your business, it's important to look at your values and how you see your business growing within those values. It is also important to take into account your work-life balance when it comes to scaling into a larger practice.Client Coaching Focus #3 - Saving For Real EstateIn theory, purchasing commercial real estate would be an investment that would appreciate value. However, the downside is that commercial real estate can sit empty for long periods of time.In the therapy industry, sometimes practice owners try to make the business fit into their building rather than fit the building to the business, or finding the best space for your business.Links & Resources: GreenOak Accounting Therapy For Your Money Podcast East Towson Psychological Services Adaptive Leadership by Ronald Heifetz

Josh is back this week, but comes back impressed with Gina's performance as co-host. How crazy of a trip to California can Josh create? Hold his beer and find out. Should “red eye” flights include weed? We think yes! Advice starts this week with a question from one of our hosts. Should he take it personally? Always. Is he terrible? Of course. Spiral away, Goode! Should a dentist live in his office? Only if they want every patient to know where they take a dump and rub one out. And what do you do about Sunday emergencies? Take one in the rear, that's what. Peace out. Don't slit your wrists after hearing this weeks song.

I am sharing the Texas case of Renee Goode today, and this case took a piece of my heart with it as I was researching. Sharon Couch and Renee's mother, Annette, never gave up, and fought tooth and nail to get Renee the justice she deserved. RIP to beautiful, angel, 2-year-old Renee and fly high. (Note: This is technically a Patreon bonus episode, but the domestic violence message/warning is so strong, and SO important, that I had to share it with all the listeners. I am giving it to the Patreons a week early before I release it on the public feed.) Sources: I call out this book countless times in the episode, but I was blown away by the depth of research and detail in the book, To The Last Breath, by the Edgar Award-Winning author Carlton Stowers. It was very influential for my research, and I highly recommend everyone go find and read this book. Check out the website www.addictedtocrime.org where you can join the Patreon (and listen to the exclusive, bonus episodes there!), buy merch, check out our sources, and browse more episodes to listen too. Thank you for your support of this podcast! I'll be back in 2 weeks with a brand new episode, stay safe.
This week's second set from Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ, is one of the best of that year, in my opinion. It starts out with a smokin' Help>Slip>Frank, the Slipknot here is particularly great. A wonderful summertime 'Dancing In the Street' follows, then 'The Wheel', and 'Samson'.. again Phil is way up in the mix and I only wish I could hear him so well more often.. 'Roses' follows, with the '76 tempo.. personally I wish Donna was a bit farther up in the mix here. The rest of the set is classic Dead, starting off with a rockin' 'Not Fade Away' into Drums, then a wonderful, exploratory jam leading into the 'Other One'. This one knocks my socks off. Ship of Fools and Sugar Mag close the set with a Johnny B. Goode encore. Grateful Dead Roosevelt Stadium Jersey City, NJ 8/4/76 - Wednesday Two Help On The Way [6:20] > Slipknot! [10:21] > Franklin's Tower [11:57] > Dancing In The Street [14#:01] > The Wheel [5:57] > Samson And Delilah [6:50];[0:10] % It Must Have Been The Roses [6:59]%[1:20] ; Not Fade Away [6:40] > Drums [3:48] > The Other One Jam [5:43] > Space Jam [5:#50] > The Other One [5:03] > Ship Of Fools [7:49] ; Sugar Magnolia [11:21] (1) Encore Johnny B. Sharon is joined by Quigley and Alex Goode, professional content creators and founders of Soulcial Media, to learn about a legend in astronomy, Annie Jump Cannon. Born on the eve of the women's suffrage movement, Annie Jump Cannon was an American astronomer and pioneer of star classification who acquired a college education and made a career for herself in a society that discouraged both of which. Known as the “Census Taker of the Sky,” Annie is most well-known for developing a star cataloging and classification system that astronomers still use today, known as the Harvard spectral classification system. Born and raised in Delaware, today Annie is considered Delaware's contribution to American innovation, she has been inducted into the Royal Astronomical Society, and the asteroid 1120 Cannonia is named in her honor. Annie Jump Cannon is an example of what can happen when your gifts and passions align. Winning at the Money Game (WATMG) is an exciting company that has developed a line of educational books, games, videos and tools for children and young adults using the game of basketball to teach personal finance. Hey Now! what a great second set this week as we explore the rest of the band's performance on September 26, 1972 at teh Stanley Theater in Jersey City, New Jersey. Marathon Minute is back featuring a conversation with stylist, designer, and CEO Erinnicole Goodwin. Chances are if you've watched playoff basketball this year, you've seen a piece designed or styled by Erin. After growing up with an instant eye for fashion, Erin went on to study at a school for fashion, design, and merchandising. She later started her own brand, It's Goode Clothing, containing styling consultancy, a streetwear brand, and custom bespoke tailoring. She works prominently with fellow Oakland native and NBA star Damian Lillard and shares how she convinced Dame to wear a 3 piece suit without a shirt, the way Oakland influences a fashion outlook, and how they collaborate on planning out looks. Erin also shares insight on why she was inspired to start her own brand and how she looks to continue its growth. Like many of you, I still remember those teachers that had a positive impact on my educational upbringing. Today's episode is special because we spend time with Virginia Commonwealth University Professor Carlton Goode. Dr Goode taught me the importance of cultivating relationships, he's the reason Ali and I share a friendship, and he's made a career helping young men of color find their way on campus and beyond. Roll Call: Knight, Russ, Ali Guests: VCU Professor Carlton Goode Professor Goode shares how current students at Virginia Commonwealth University feel about the Somebody's Son Podcast. [1:15] Kris reflects on his journey from VCU and challenges the University in a good way. [6:51] The guys praise Chris Langley, and Esmel Meeks for making time to speak to current VCU students. [10:57] Professor Goode explains why he started a class at VCU to develop men of color. [15:23] Ali asks how important is it for universities and academic institutions to develop underrepresented talent on their campuses? [20:01] Kris highlights the importance of bonding across cultures and the opportunity of getting outside of your comfort zone. [23:58] Sincere thanks to Robert F. Smith, Henry Louis Gates, and the team behind Black History in Two Minutes. QUOTES Our content is being circulated in the classrooms that groomed us. [6:40] I've never felt like a professor cared more about me than Mr. Goode did. [13:34] The influence you're having on those kids, even if you don't see the fruit immediately, what you're planting is still worth it. [19:02] Imagine you have a son, what is that one thing you'd give to your son that's not material, the one thing he can keep in his back pocket, that he can pull out, when he's in middle school, college or marriage? Found primarily in Ireland and the British Isles, the Sheela na gig has been a mysterious symbol of female power for a millennia. These 12th- to 17th-century stone carvings of supernatural females displaying their vulvas have been found in both sacred and secular architecture, from medieval churches to castles, town walls, holy wells, and gravestones. What do they represent and how do they connect to women today? Join our guest, Starr Goode, a noted writer and teacher as well as a scholar of matriarchal history as she tells us about her lifelong study of these sacred female symbols. Sean Marlon Newcombe and Dawn "Sam" Alden co-host.

Thank you for listening to She’s Got Drive. Today we have the last in out Black Mama series of interviews with midwife Tanya Khemet and Academic Keisha Goode, both President and Vice President of National Association of Certified Professional Midwives. We talk about the racism faced by Black midwives, the decimation of Black midwifery, and the need to address the structural barriers for Black Midwives today. And how Black Midwives is an answer to the Black Maternal Health crisis. My name is Shirley McAlpine. Welcome to She's Got Drive. So grab your cup of tea, or drink of choice and you might want to take a walk as you listen to these two amazing and inspiring women. Dr Tanya Khemet Taiwo considers herself blessed to be the mother of three beautiful girls who were all born into the hands of midwives. After serving as clinic administrator and staff midwife of The Birthing Project Clinic for eight years, she became one of the founding mothers of Birth and Family Health Center, women’s health clinics housed in community health centers located in medically underserved areas of Sacramento. She currently works in a Federally Qualified Health Center, continuing to care for low-income families in a multi-disciplinary setting. She comes from a family tradition of midwives. She joined the NACPM Board of Directors in the fall of 2012, and has been President for 4 years. Dr. Khemet Taiwo is an assistant professor of midwifery at Bastyr University, and a research Fellow at The Birth Place Lab at the University of British Columbia. At the Birth Place Lab she’s collaborating on the Giving Voice to Mothers Study, a research project that examines how race, ethnicity and birthplace affect maternity care in the United States. Her dissertation research in epidemiology examined how prenatal socioeconomic and psychological stress impacted child neurodevelopment, and how these stressors are amplified by environmental exposures. Dr Keisha Goode joined the Board as the first appointed Public Member. She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology at The State University of New York College. Her primary research area is Medical Sociology with specific attention to the medicalization of childbirth and the historical and contemporary complexities of Black midwifery in the United States. She is completing a book proposal for the publication of her dissertation research, Birthing, Blackness and The Body: Black Midwives and Experiential Continuities of Institutional Racism. "These tumors actually becoming something that's very, very different in response to therapy. And this allows them then to survive and adapt," says David Goode, regarding current studies he's leading on cancer, specifically prostate. He adds that by changing cell type, these cancer cells evade treatment by altering what they need. He describes intricacies in cancer progression he's learned through computational biology work that could inform better treatment. Listen and learn How his lab utilizes genetics biology and cancer evolution nature to figure out what makes some tumors more aggressive than others, Why this type of cancer genetics and genomics work offers evolutionary clues regarding resistance development, How prostate cancer cells transdifferentiate into a neuro endocrine cell type so that they don't need testosterone anymore, and What "signatures of loss of multicellularity" means and why his lab studies the process in cancer cells. David Goode is group leader and faculty in the Computational Biology Program with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Center in Australia. His work engages the importance of genetics and evolution in cancer through bioinformatics, genomics, molecular evolution, and population genetics. He and colleagues are trying to better understand the results of cancer evolution. They use mathematical models where they can stimulate tumor growth in simulations. This allows them to follow progressions and different mutations and clonal populations over changes in tumors at different points in time of therapy. He gets specific about some of their cutting-edge techniques and research. While they use whole genome sequencing or exome sequencing, he adds that, "single cell technologies are really powerful, and that's something we are looking to move into where you can actually profile individual cells." For now, they also utilize tools and analyses in their computational work to understand how tumors become resistant to therapies. He adds, "if we know that, then perhaps we can come up with better ways to treat patients that will prevent the tumors from becoming resistant in the first place." Listen in for more about this promising research. Episode also available on Apple Podcasts: apple.co/30PvU9C
