An email from the FBI to Commissioner Cox, following up on a phone call and discussing discovery turned over to the prosecution, contradicts Cox's claims of no involvement. Boston 25 Investigates uncovered a loophole in the Massachusetts State Police's GPS tracking system. Hundreds of cruisers are equipped with a "kill switch" that allows tracking to be disabled. This feature was highlighted in the investigation of former state police detective Michael Proctor, who was fired for conduct revealed in the Karen Read murder trial.
