In chapter 2, we find Jonah hanging out in the great fish. God has caught up to him and Jonah is confronted with his runaway rebellion. Yet, despite the running, Jonah now recognizes God's salvation as he is brought back into God's presence, now with a heart of worship. How do we respond when God catches up to us? Join us as we discuss the source of our salvation and the only appropriate response to such a loving and gracious God! Services are at 9am and 11am. Bring a friend!

Welcome to Christ Community Church of Wilmington NC. We are committed to teaching the Bible, transforming lives, and touching our world.
Jonah's prayer in chapter two is filled with quotations from Messianic psalms. There is even a declaration which in Hebrew reads, "Yeshua makes peace with God." That too is a quotation from the psalms. In this beautiful prayer we see Jonah's confession and declaration of faith. There are many expressions that are not understood without some knowledge of the culture and Hebrew expressions.
Sovereign Grace Baptist Church is located in Cookeville, TN. Our desire is to honor Christ by loving the fallen world as Christ loved us. We learn how to love the world from God's Word by studying, growing, and applying God's Word in our lives and in our worship. We firmly believe that hearing God's Word is the path to understanding and experiencing salvation in Christ alone. We look at how God will show Jonah (and us) just how deep and powerful God's commitment is. We'll address the language of prayer, how Scripture changes the way we think, and the confidence we can have in grace.

In Jonah 2, we see a desperate man call out to his only best option -- the option he tried his best to run away from in chapter 1. God is our only best option at all times. Thankfully, God's grace runs deep and reaches deep, like to the depths of the ocean and into the belly of a whale.
