MARCH 22, 2026 FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT REV. KENDRA BALLIET ORGANIST JIM ROSS Prelude - Ah, Holy Jesus- Cathy Moklebust (Bell Choir) Welcome & Announcements *Call to Worship (Based on Psalms 130 and 126) LEADER: My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning, more than those who watch for the morning. PEOPLE: Hope in the LORD! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and great power to redeem. LEADER: The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. PEOPLE: Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. * Opening Hymn – “Ask Ye What Great Thing I Know” #163 *Opening Prayer Mighty God, you make a way for us in the chaos of the sea and give us water in desert places: Help us to live by the covenant you write on our hearts; open us to receive the new thing you are doing. Give us grace to know Christ, the sharing of his sufferings, and the power of his resurrection, that we may gain the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Amen. Call to Confession God has promised to restore us to joy and wholeness if we acknowledge our sins and seek forgiveness. Therefore, remembering that there is forgiveness with God whom we revere, let us ask God to take us by the hand and lead us to the throne of grace. Prayer of Confession Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love, for we know our sins, and we cannot overlook them. We have failed to put our complete confidence in you; we rely on prestige and past success for reputation; we look to the wealth and power of nations for support; we cling to things, and yet knowing you surpasses all else. Wash us; heal us; teach us to honor you with truth. Let us know the joy and gladness of your saving grace that we may have life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Words of Assurance God has promised to forgive our iniquity and remember our sin no more. Let us set our minds on the Spirit and give praise to the One who raised Jesus from the dead. Amen. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth. Can you sense it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” People: Jesus says if we believe, we will see the glory of God. L: “I will put my spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you on your own soil; then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken and will act.” P: Jesus says if we believe, we will see the glory of God. L: “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” P: Jesus says if we believe, we will see the glory of God. L: “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” P: Jesus says if we believe, we will see the glory of God. L: “I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live.” P: Yes, Lord, we believe that you are the Son of God, the one coming into the world, the resurrection and the life. Walk as children of light.
In order to walk in the light ... 1. You have to know Jesus Christ 2. You show the fruit of the spirit v.9 3. You have to discern v. 10 4. You can't be involved with the unrighteous but rather live a life that reproved them 5. It reveals 6. Wake up 7. God gives more

Paul reminds us that we once lived in darkness, but now we are light. Christians must live in a way that illuminates within the darkness we live in. When we live in the power of the Holy Spirit, our obedience to His will shines a light on dark living.
