When Jesus lives inside of us, we often neglect cleaning house for Him because it can get very messy sorting through our lives. What we need to do, rather than making the outside look clean by doing all the right things, is clean our house from the inside out so that the things that truly matter in our heart can be made clean forever.

In this episode of Real Life Conversations for Christian Coaches, I sit down with Erica Vinson for a real, honest conversation about how technology has changed coaching—and how it hasn't.We've both been coaching long enough to remember dial-in phone lines, paper notes, and simple scheduling. Now we're navigating Zoom calls, AI tools, automated systems, and more options than ever before. But here's what I keep coming back to:Technology has changed how we coach. It has not changed why we coach. In this conversation, we talk through what we're seeing in the coaching space right now, including the shift from phone to video, how we think about scheduling and rhythms, and the growing presence of AI in coaching businesses. We're not offering a step-by-step guide or telling you what tools to use. We're inviting you into discernment. We talk about:How coaching platforms have evolved over timeWhy phone coaching still holds valueHow to use scheduling tools without losing marginWhat role AI can (and cannot) play in coachingCreating guardrails for your digital presenceWhy coaching remains an inside-out practiceIf you're feeling overwhelmed by all the tools available—or unsure how to move forward with clarity—this conversation is meant to steady you.You don't need every new tool. You don't need to panic about AI.You do need to stay present, grounded, and aligned with your calling.FREE RESOURCES:Listen to our sister podcast the REALIFE Practice Podcast on your Favorite Podcast AppTake the FREE Intro to Needs & Values AssessmentReady to discover what uniquely matters to YOU? 2.22.2026 - Spiritual Tools for Spiritual Transformation - Service - Matt. 25:31-46 by Anacostia River Church
Suffering is where transformation begins! What does that have to do with Lent? Many of us approach Lent thinking about what we have to give up. But what if Lent isn't mainly about loss… but about what God wants to build within us? In this episode, we explore the deeper meaning of penance, suffering, and the desert season of Lent. Why does the Church begin with ashes and words about death? How does penance actually train the heart? And why does every sacrifice ultimately point toward resurrection? Journal Questions: Where in my life right now feels like a desert, and how might God be inviting me to encounter Him there rather than escape it? What comfort, habit, or attachment might God be asking me to surrender so He can build something deeper in me? If resurrection always follows the cross, what “new life” might God be preparing in me through this season? 2.8.2026 - Spiritual Tools for Spiritual Transformation - Silence - Psalm 62; Lam. 3:26 by Anacostia River Church
In John 4:11–19, Jesus speaks of living water that becomes a bubbling spring within, giving eternal life. This 2 Minute Disciple devotional reminds us that Jesus loves to go beyond surface conversations, revealing our true condition so we can be healed.
How much time and effort do you spend focusing on that which passes away versus that which endures? Dr. Tom Curran explores the four steps for spiritual transformation: disruption, desire, desperation and dynamism. Tom references insights written in his upcoming book, titled: No Half Measures.
Ephesians 2 reveals the miraculous transformation that occurs through God's grace alone, bringing life to what was once dead in sin. We unpack how salvation isn't about human effort but about receiving new life as God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for the good works he prepared in advance. Listen now and be inspired to live out your identity as part of God's unified family on mission.
In John 2:23–25, many begin to trust in Jesus because of His miracles, yet He doesn't place His trust in them—He knows what is in every heart. This 2 Minute Disciple devotional challenges us to open our hearts fully to Him, trusting His transforming work in our lives.
"If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." — Nikola TeslaSHOW NOTESEPISODE HIGHLIGHTS The Miraculous Economy: Living on pure faith shifts your source from human hustle to divine alignment, making extraordinary provision an inevitable result of the Spirit. The Soul as the Engine: External results reflect internal states. True wealth begins within; when your soul prospers, your environment must follow. The Joy Frequency: Joy is a high-frequency energy that powers manifestation. It dissolves world-weariness and acts as a lubricant for the miraculous. Resistance as a Catalyst: Just as friction creates light, spiritual resistance sparks growth. Challenges are thresholds that invite you to increase your spiritual "voltage." The Power of Clarity: Vague prayers yield vague results. Precise desires send a clear signal into the Spirit, allowing the Father to deliver precise manifestations. Reflecting the Divine Image: You are a prism of God's light. Being made in His image gives you the innate capacity to co-create using the spiritual tools in your DNA. Stop the mechanical grind. If you're exhausted from "working the system" with no results, it's because you're operating on human effort instead of Kingdom Electricity. Philip Hunt reveals how to clear the "resistance" in your 45-mile nervous system to let your faith voltage soar. Learn to stop chasing success and start Engineering Miracles.
As a Christian coach, I've wrestled with this question for years: Am I a Christian coach… or a coach who is a Christian? In this episode, Erica and I open an honest conversation about the tension many coaches feel around faith, integrity, and how explicitly to lead with our beliefs in our coaching work.We talk through two frameworks that have helped us personally and professionally:Faith-forward coaching and Faith-focused coaching. Neither approach is right or wrong—but each carries implications for our clients, our ethics, our messaging, and the kind of practice we're building.Rather than offering quick answers, we invite you into discernment. To notice where your faith currently sits in your work.To reflect on who you feel most alive serving. And to consider what integrity might look like if you stopped trying to please everyone. This conversation is especially for you if you care deeply about faith, want to coach ethically, and are learning how to show up fully and honestly in this season of your life and work. You don't have to decide this forever. You just have to listen for the invitation right now.FREE RESOURCES:Listen to our sister podcast the REALIFE Practice Podcast on your Favorite Podcast AppTake the FREE Intro to Needs & Values AssessmentReady to discover what uniquely matters to YOU? Discover your true identity in Christ and the God who planted His own dreams inside you—and why your desires still matter. In this third part of the God’s Dreams, Your Dreams: Is God That Good? series, Dr. Catherine Toon dives deep into how a profoundly good God designed you as His “poetry” (Ephesians 2:10), crafted in love, and filled you with holy desires that won’t go away. She separates your unshakable ontology (who you are in Christ) from your changing roles, assignments, and seasons, so you never confuse your worth with what you do. Catherine exposes the religious lie that your heart is fundamentally untrustworthy and shows how God’s love and spiritual healing restore you to your true self. From Romans 8 and the unveiling of the sons and daughters of God, to Psalm 37:4 and Ephesians 3:16–20, she reveals a Father who works all things together for good, shares His glory with you, and dares you to dream with Him again. Creation itself is “on tiptoe,” waiting for you to wake up to who you are and step into the dreams He’s planted in your heart. You’ll learn how to discern between selfish fantasies and God-breathed desires, how spiritual transformation flows from union with a personal, loving God (not a vague cosmic force), and how experiencing God in your desires leads to real-world impact and inner healing. This is about discovering your identity in God and living as a co-creator of heaven-on-earth in your unique flavor. Practical takeaway: Ask Holy Spirit to highlight one dream that keeps resurfacing, even after disappointment. Write it down, invite Jesus into the grief and delay, and pray: “Father, I give You the right to direct my life—ignite Your dreams in me again.” Then watch for the next small, courageous step. In this soulful and contemplative sixth episode in the series, Beloved: The Journey of Leaving Egypt, Entering Wilderness, and Awakening as New Creation, our host, Donald E. Coleman, partners with listeners to see the wilderness not as abandonment but as God's transforming room—a place where silence reveals truth and stillness gives birth to identity.Drawing from Hosea, the Gospels, and the contemplative tradition, Donald describes the wilderness as the inner space where God removes false identities, heals deep wounds, and restores the soul to belovedness. If you've ever felt hidden, forgotten, or stripped of certainty, this episode will show you how God uses the desert to reveal who you truly are."Have Questions, Send us a Message" This podcast is a production of The Center for Biblical Coaching and Leadership. In order to make a difference in the people around us for God's glory, we need to make sure that we are investing in our relationship with Him and that He is at work in us. God wants to use us to be transformers in the world, but we have to first let Him transform us from the inside out so that He gets all the glory from the change that takes place in and around us.
After seven years of weekly podcasting, we felt it was time to pause, reflect, and make a thoughtful shift. In this episode, we talk honestly about change—what it is, what it isn't, and how to recognize when it's time to realign rather than quit. This isn't about ending something. It's about pruning, tending, and creating space for healthier growth. We share why the podcast is shifting to an every-other-week rhythm, how our two sister podcasts will now work together, and what this kind of discernment has looked like for us as coaches and leaders. We also talk about capacity—how honoring it isn't failure, but wisdom. If you've ever found yourself wondering:Is it time for something to change… or are we just tired? How do we honor our capacity without giving up on meaningful work? What does healthy growth actually look like in this season? This conversation is for you.Our hope is that as you listen, you'll feel permission to slow down, notice what needs tending in your own life and work, and trust that change—when discerned well—can be a gift.FREE RESOURCES:Take the FREE Intro to Needs & Values AssessmentReady to discover what uniquely matters to YOU? This week we will be studying Mark 1:16-20 under the theme “Calling Disciples.” Jesus doesn't call the qualified — he calls ordinary people in the middle of ordinary work and reshapes their lives around his Kingdom. When the King says “Follow me,” nets are dropped, priorities are reordered, and a lifelong journey of becoming “fishers of people” begins.Series Summary: Fast-paced, urgent, and relentlessly focused on Jesus, the Gospel of Mark shows us not just what Jesus said, but what he did. Written for a Roman world hungry for power, Mark introduces a surprising King - one who comes to serve, to suffer, and to give his life for many. Over the coming weeks, we'll walk this road with Jesus, from the wilderness to the cross, discovering how the Servant-King's actions reveal the true good news - and what it means to follow him as disciples who take up our own cross and trust him with our lives.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? Bob Schwahn | Lead Pastor Referenced Scripture: John 6:60-69, Mark 10:17-22, Ephesians 4:1-3, Matthew 7:21-23 Reflection Questions:1. Describe your current relationship with Jesus. DTR (Define The Relationship)What adjectives would you use to describe your connection to Him right now? Is it growing closer, getting more distant, or staying the same? Explain. 2. What is the difference between being a fan of Jesus and being a follower of Jesus? What characteristics would you use to describe each of these kinds of people? Where do you see yourself currently? 3. In the life of Jesus (gospels), how does Jesus describe what it means to be a follower of Him? How does Jesus make this definition clear in his teachings and invitations to follow him? 4. Read Mark 10:17-31 (Rich Young Ruler)What are some observations you can make about following Jesus from this story? How does Jesus separate fans from followers in this story? Can you relate to the response of the rich young ruler? Why or why not? 5. In the sermon we talked about identity based spiritual transformation. Identity → Process → Outcome (fruit)(who we are) → (what we do) → (what we get) Why is it critical to start with identity as we approach the pursuit of spiritual transformation? What is the cost/problem with focusing on outcomes first rather than focusing on our identity? How would your life be different if your core identity was being a follower of Jesus? How would it shape your habits/disciplines and the outcomes of your life? 6. Read Matthew 7:21-23How is it possible for someone to think they are a follower of Jesus and not actually have a relationship with Him?What thoughts or questions come to your mind when you read this passage? Why does this passage make it so important for us to really answer the question, “Am I a follower of Jesus?” (as Jesus defines follower)How does Jesus define a true follower of Him? 7. If you had a DTR (define the relationship) with Jesus what do you think you would say? What do you think He would say? What's your next step? * Connect: We'd love to connect with you! As we step into a new year, I invite you as a listeners into a quieter kind of beginning. This episode features a prayer I originally wrote on New Year's Eve of 2023—a prayer I've returned to again and again. This prayer isn't bound to one year. It's a companion prayer for every season. In this reflective episode, I shares the full prayer and then walk through the heart behind each line—inviting you to consider how planning, presence, stillness, work, and faith can be held with open hands rather than pressure. This conversation is for anyone who wants to begin again gently—without hustle, without fixing, and without urgency—by returning to what matters most.In This Episode, You'll Hear:Why beginning again doesn't have to be dramaticHow to plan well while holding your days with open handsThe importance of noticing people in ordinary momentsRethinking stillness as presence, not perfectionHow daily practices shape a grounded, faithful life over timeReflection Question:What might you want to carry into this year as a practice—not a pressure?therealifeprocess.com/resourcesFREE RESOURCES:Take the FREE Intro to Needs & Values AssessmentReady to discover what uniquely matters to YOU? In this deeply moving episode of Mindset Mastery Moments, Dr. Alisa Whyte speaks with Annetta Caldwell — author, minister, and powerful voice of spiritual transformation. Annetta's journey is one of profound redemption: a path that led her from the shadows of addiction and witchcraft to a life anchored in faith, freedom, and divine purpose. With vulnerability and grace, Annetta shares the darkest chapters of her past and the miraculous turning point that changed everything. Through an encounter with God's power, she experienced a life-altering transformation that restored her identity, renewed her hope, and ignited her calling to help others break free from spiritual bondage.Annetta and Dr. Alisa dive into the realities of surrender, healing, and the courage it takes to confront one's brokenness. Her story reminds us that no life is beyond restoration — and that redemption is not only possible, but promised, when we release our struggles and embrace a higher purpose.Today, Annetta serves through her ministry, guiding individuals toward spiritual clarity, deliverance, and emotional healing. Her testimony is a living example of resilience, grace, and the extraordinary strength found in faith.Listeners will feel inspired, uplifted, and reminded that even from the deepest darkness, light can emerge — ushering in a future filled with hope, freedom, and transformation.
In this rich conversation, poet-chaplain David Tensen and Catherine explore what true eldering looks like in an age hungry for maturity, belonging, and wisdom. David encourages mature believers to embrace the challenge of authentic eldering through intentional decentering. This means decentering anything that demands center-stage - including ourselves, the ways we see God, the need to be constantly heard, our knowledge, denial of death, and materialism. David names the ache of a lack of eldering for so many, especially in the west. We’ve become long-lived, prosperous, information saturated, yet elder-poor. He invites us into practices that form “big, generous (fat) souls”—people who listen deeply, companion others, and make others feel safe, seen, and not judged. When we decenter our need to be heard, we create room for inner healing and spiritual transformation to unfold in those we love. David also discusses “decentering God”—not removing God, but moving our limited ideas of God out of the way so we can perceive God more and more accurately. Here we can see Trinity in a perichoretic dance—space at the center, room for wonder, union, and identity in Christ that doesn’t crowd out others. Also discussed is “recentering death” by facing death honestly. When we decenter our denial, we live truer, love stronger, and bless the generations.
