The government of Armenia has gone to war against one of the country's most powerful institutions – the Apostolic Church. National security police have gaoled a popular archbishop, Bagrat Galstanyan, claiming he was involved in a plot to overthrow the government. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has also demanded the resignation of the top cleric, accusing him of having a secret child. It's a high-risk move for an unpopular government, taking on the ancient church that many Armenians see as the embodiment of the nation. Linley Dixon discusses some of the challenges facing organic farming, particularly the issues of greenwashing and the need for maintaining organic standards in this week's podcast interview. Linley is the Co-Director of the Real Organic Project (ROP), in addition to running her own Adobe House Farm in Durango, Colorado. She emphasizes the importance of transparency in agricultural practices and the impact of lobbying by agribusiness to weaken organic standards. These issues have an impact even on farmers who are not certified organic, because when standards are not maintained, it causes consumers to doubt standards in general. The conversation also touches on the role of fraud in organic certification, the need for accountability, and the importance of strong regulations to protect organic integrity. This is the second episode on maintaining organic standards; the first one with Dave Chapman focused on the issue of allowing hydroponics in organics, while this episode focuses on maintaining humane standards for organic livestock and combatting organic grain fraud. Linley also delves into her academic background in soil science and plant pathology, emphasizing the significance of soil health in sustainable agriculture. HR3 - Braves pushing back Chris Sale's start shows they're all in to try & catch Mets In hour three Mike Johnson, Beau Morgan, and Ali Mac let listeners call in and talk about if their parents have ever saved anything for them that they can't do anything with, but don't want to throw away. Mike, Beau, and Ali also let listeners call in and talk about if they minded that the Braves pushed back Chris Sale's start to tomorrow instead of yesterday, and if the Braves have a Sunday game curse. The Morning Shift crew continues this Monday edition of The Morning Shift by spending some time recapping the 125th U.S. Open with former PGA Tour caddie Mick Middlemo. Mike, Ali, Beau and Mick discuss J.J. Spaun's performance and winning the U.S. Open over the weekend, if Mick likes seeing golfers struggle the way they did at Oakmont this weekend, or if he likes to see a lot of golfers get low scores, if Mick has ever been a caddie for somebody who completely lost their composure during a round, how players and caddies treat a rain delay, what they do during a rain delay, where Mick thinks J.J. Spaun's career resurgence has come from, and who he thinks is the early favorite to win The British Open. Then, Mike, Beau, and Ali continue to recap and react to the Atlanta Braves winning their three game series against the Colorado Rockies over the weekend, but missing out on the series sweep after a 10-1 loss yesterday. The Morning Shift crew also explains why the Braves failing to sweep the Rockies and losing 10-1 ruined Atlanta's good weekend. Finally, Mike, Beau, and Ali close out hour three by diving into the life of Beau “Squidbilly” Morgan in The Life of Squid!
Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) joins the show to discuss the rising authoritarian threat from the Trump administration and the president's politicization of the military. Gov. Walz also talks about his record of delivering for Minnesotans and how the American public can push back in this moment.

This week, Bill and Phil look at some of the institutions and people that are pushing back against an increasingly authoritarian Trump, including the Federal Reserve, the Supreme Court, and the American people. Then they close with an invigorating session of “What's More Stupid?”
Fifty years ago there was little or no knowledge among teenagers about eating disorders like anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. In today's image-obsessed and social-media saturated world, the great majority of our kids not only stress over their appearance, but many are struggling with body dysmorphia, which is defined as a mental health condition in which you can't stop thinking about one or more perceived defects or flaws in your appearance. New data from a study of thirty-nine-thousand adolescents ages fourteen to eighteen reports that the dominant factor raising the risk of self-harm, including suicide, is one's perception regarding their weight. Our kids are being hammered by a constant diet of marketing images and social media posts which leave them feeling inadequate and less than. As Christian parents, we must affirm their standing as loved divine-image bearers, emphasizing the fact that God looks on the inside, not the outside. Our identity is not to be found in appearance.
A new retail trend known as “Sephora Kids,” refers to tweens and young teens who emulate the beauty and skincare routines of adults. Beauty retailer, Sephora, has seen their customer base of 9 to 12 year-olds double in the past five years. That’s according to Forbes. But healthcare experts warn that many beauty and skincare products contain ingredients that are harmful to children. Connecticut’s Attorney General, William Tong, has launched an investigation into Sephora’s marketing strategies aimed at kids, tweens and teens. This hour, we explore the beauty industry’s impact on children, and how local leaders are inspiring confidence that is more than skin-deep.Support the show: http://wnpr.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
[Content Warning]: Religious cult, physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, abortion, self-harmToday, Jan is again joined by Jennifer Redcay to finish her story of cult abuse and escape. Said abuse turned sexual when the cult leader claimed Jennifer's "fantasies about him" required "acting out" to purge demons. For nearly two years, he coerced her into increasingly degrading acts—always framed as "spiritual cleansing." When she became pregnant, he froze her out for three days, then ordered her to get an abortion. His wife took her across state lines to a clinic, where Jennifer endured the procedure alone. That trauma became a turning point. "How could God want this?" she asked herself. Small rebellions followed: a customer's prayer about God's love ("Greater is He that is in you") clashed with the cult's teachings. Finding a book on deliverance ministries, thinking it would help reaffirm her belief in the cult, turned out to be literature denouncing the practice and exposed the leader's identical tactics. After a couple of failed attempts and a discussion with fellow christians at her waitressing job, she finally fled. Send us a textIn this hard-hitting episode, TMPA Executive Director Kevin Lawrence addresses a growing concern: a particular media outlet that continues to push false narratives about law enforcement transparency and personnel files. Kevin lays out the facts, dismantling the spread of misinformation and highlighting what the law says about public records and officer privacy. He stresses the importance of law enforcement not sitting quietly while our profession is misrepresented. Kevin calls on all officers, leaders, and supporters to push back against misleading headlines and defend the profession's integrity. It's a nonsensical conversation about the truth behind what is — and what isn't- and why standing united matters now more than ever.If you care about protecting your name, reputation, and the truth, this is an episode you don't want to miss.Support the showemail us at- bluegrit@tmpa.org

[Content Warning]: Religious cult, physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuseToday, Jan is joined by Jennifer Redcay, who spent 10 years of her late 20s and early 30s in a cult that nearly extinguished her soul, spirit, and life. Jennifer opens with her childhood—abandoned by her father and raised by a mother whose remarriage to a bipolar man left her longing for love. That void made her vulnerable when a charismatic couple running a "deliverance ministry" lured her in, promising spiritual fulfillment. What began as Bible study spiraled into total control: she sold her home, cut off family, and handed over $400,000 to her abusers. The cult leader, just nine years her senior, declared himself her "father" and rewrote her identity—forcing her to call his wife "Mother" and her own mom by her first name. Jennifer describes the escalating abuse: sleep deprivation, food restrictions, and brutal beatings for disobedience. She recounts horrifying rituals like watching movies (even porn) to "expose her sins," followed by hours of "exorcisms" for fabricated demons. All of this and more were overshadowed by the cult's isolation tactics. Though Jennifer and her mom lived together, they were forbidden from speaking unless supervised, which was supported by the cult leader somehow knowing when they had broken that rule. "He didn't want us comparing stories," she says. By the time physical violence became routine, Jennifer was trapped—convinced leaving would condemn her to hell. The abuse turned sexual when the cult leader claimed Jennifer's "fantasies about him" required "acting out" to purge demons. For nearly two years, he coerced her into increasingly degrading acts—always framed as "spiritual cleansing."Buy Jennifer's Book:Pushing Back The Darkness by Becca Anderson and Jennifer RedcayWhere To Find Jennifer:JenniferRedcay.comTiktok: @jenniferredcayauthorIf you or someone you know is experiencing emotional distress or suicidal ideation, please access the resources below:National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: Call/Text 988National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN) : 1-800-656-HOPE (4673)National Alliance for Mental Illness: 1-800-950-6264Subscribe / Support / Contact:

Many, many federal district court judges are issuing some very imprudent and some obviously politicized decisions to block many of the early actions by President Trump and his team on many different fronts. The judges involved say they don’t care about the election but they’re just applying the law and the constitution, but it sure does feel to a lot of us like "the Resistance is donned Robes." Good number of these cases will end up tested and settled by the Supreme Court—a court that Donald Trump built in part during his first term. The highest court is always a sort of Constitutional trampoline where legal theories are jump up and down over the decades, propelled by events and presidents. Now President Trump is jumping on that trampoline—just as FDR for example, did early in his presidency—to see how high presidential power can be made to go. But I am hopeful that at least some of these test cases will restore the appropriate constitutional order and I am not worried at all that the constitution will endure.
