The system is broken. You can reform it, fight it, or build something better. I advocate for the latter option. This includes alternative systems like homeschooling, self-sufficiency, local food, agorism, and much more. I cover philosophy, practical applications, and examples of these things that have been done before. Other topics include the PMA structure ( Private Membership Association ), Anarcho-capitalism, democratic confederalism, and much more. 6. Governance > Government: Case Study on Ancient Israel 28. This is a case study of three different alternative options for various stages of education. Sudbury schools offer a physical school that is structured around self directed learning and student leadership. The Ron Paul Homeschooling Curriculum is a fairly structured, mostly online option for homeschoolers who want a system to follow but still want to be home based, self directed, and promote critical thinking. Praxis is a college alternative that offers a fairly quick and cheap way to go from high school or any other stage in life into a promising career through education, project learning, apprenticeship, and more. These all offer alternatives to the standard system and are good examples to wrap up this series on education. - Website - http://www.ourfoundations.podbean.com/ - Email - ourfoundations@protonmail.com - Patreon page to support / donate - https://www.patreon.com/ourfoundations - Follow on Twitter - https://twitter.com/Foundationspc - Medium writings - https://medium.com/@OurFoundations - Bitcoin Address - 1AZFLCvmfXasChaaecgYMP3vtnUrnLJoY7 - Ethereum - 0x409D0F2766e208C1Ea97fF2429D38a3D9E3abd3a - Zcash - t1SZKfocBcghVMWVCsbSA9zAHr5fzsxi62H - Pivx - D7ziutb5gGNnJ5pXngwa3w9zJj2P1iNzUT - Nano - nano_16gh7igt8zb1cntbmq1hrnmnc9ea9qrj3zycscqywhak5dgtx1gwommekt7r

What should we do with children? How do we best guide them on their life’s course and provide them with the skills they will need along the journey? We believe in a radical concept: Let the children decide. On this episode of the Alpine Valley School podcast we share a blog post from the Open School in Orange, California that deals with the fundamental purpose of education and how Sudbury Schools, like both of ours, approach those concepts. Kenya Scott is an entrepreneur living between DC and GA with her husband and 10-year-old son, Malcolm. I see her as a mother who saved her black son from being caught up in the medicated student money-making system that pays Big Pharma and justifies treating black boys like non-humans who need medication and harsh punishments. In Episode 15, Kenya and I talk about the trauma black children face in the school American school system, seeing the value in intentional learning communities, and why we should stop sleeping on Minecraft (yes, for real!). We also compare Sudbury Schools and ALCs (Agile Learning Centers) in terms of model (daily structure) and money (accessibility).Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/akilah)
My first conversation with You Tube sensation David Brown, better known as boyinaband. I first started to follow his work over a year ago when his video "Don't Stay In School" prompted our friend Derrick J to write a similarly-themed letter to his two younger sisters. We then discussed the letter on the show. David and I discuss his new video called "You Don't Legally Have To Go To School," our experiences as students, how some of my teaching experience line up with some of themes of his videos, the legality of going to school, Sudbury Schools, and the problem of government schools.
