**NOTE: This episode was recorded before the Brian Odom and Roy Manning news broke Tuesday night.** In the opening take, Lee really thought there was a chance Kyler Murray could come back to OU for one more season. Then Grant joins to explain why the past week's talk about Kyler Murray frustrated him (7:00). Murray's not going to play baseball right now because he's going to end up being a first round pick in the NFL Draft (11:45). Murray would make so much more money in the NFL right now compared to his A's signing bonus (16:30). Tim Kish and Kerry Cooks are out. We talk Brian Odom -- although we recorded this before his hiring was made official (19:05). We recorded before the news broke that Roy Manning was hired as cornerbacks coach (26:15). Grant is incredibly intrigued by the Sooners QB situation with Austin Kendall entering the transfer portal and Jalen Hurts rumored to come to OU (28:10). Lee doesn't think Lincoln Riley would make a decision that puts OU's QB situation in a mess (30:30). Is Tanner Mordecai better than Austin Kendall (33:10)? Grant lays out why it makes a bunch of sense for Jalen Hurts to join OU's program (35:40). Are we sure Hurts is a good quarterback (38:10)? Lee's got a good feeling about Hurts' chances of coming to OU (43:50). Both guys were dead wrong about the National Championship game, but let's be honest the way that game played out was a fluke, right (47:10)? Clemson's kill shot TD was incredibly lucky and Grant's super annoyed nobody has pointed that out (53:35). We look back at our 2018 season predictions and find out what we got right, and what we got wrong sprinkling in soundbites from some of our best and worst takes (55:15). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9

The whole gang is back and it's time to really dive into what is working and what isn't on defense. We all know there are issues with tackling. We know there are some coverage issues. After studying the game and looking at some key numbers, what issues really stick out? Can the run game be better? Will the offensive line get better now that Creed Humphrey has been named the starter at center? Army comes to town and that's always a delicate situation from a P.R. standpoint. We love our men and women serving in the armed forces, but it makes for a weird week of preparation for a football team that wants to show plenty of respect yet still prepare to dominate an opponent. Tim Kish talks about his eight years coaching at Army and what to expect from this collection of pretty remarkable young men. Basketball recruiting is heating up and Bob Przybylo has the breakdown. Josh updates us on the latest recruiting news as well. The full rundown follows below: OPEN - Is our opening too aggressive? Is it disrespectful? In the opening take, Lee has an update on the OU secondary position battles heading into fall camp and brings up one question that hasn't fully been answered yet. Then, Grant joins to talk briefly about Baker Mayfield's positive training camp so far with the Browns (6:10). Grant describes an unfortunate story that dominated OU's "ChampU BBQ" over the weekend (9:50). Shifting back to the Sooners' secondary as Lee explains why he's not thrilled about the idea of a base Nickel defense. Grant tells us how a Nickel defense could be a good thing (18:30). Grant is puzzled by the strong safety position battle, while Lee tries to provide a little context (24:05). Lee isn't concerned about the safety positions because DBs switch positions all the time and OU's got a lot of talent back there (28:00). What about the cornerbacks? Kerry Cooks breaks down everything you want to know about the secondary and Brendan Radley-Hiles is still the talk of camp. Josh hits us up with the latest as the Sooners get ready for their biggest recruiting weekend of the year and one of the biggest of the early Lincoln Riley era.
