Minnesota beat Wisconsin in an ugly rivalry game, and Michigan State ended its losing streak versus Maryland while ushering in a new coaching era under Pat Fitzgerald. On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") are back in studio recapping USC's 29-10 victory over UCLA, capping a 9-3 season for the Men of Troy and a likely trip to San Antonio for the Alamo Bowl and an opportunity to win 10 games. With star wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane suspended for the first quarter for violating team rules, the offense struggled in the first half and only managed to put one touchdown on the board. Things picked up in the second half for USC, with the offense putting up points and the defense pitching another shutout, dashing UCLA's hopes of an upset bid in the Battle for Los Angeles. The guys breaks down the game, talking about how missing the top-2 receivers set the offense back in the first half and some of the defensive struggles that led to the Bruins taking the lead in a game for the first time in 40 days. After halftime quarterback Jayden Maiava settled in and found his two stars, Lemon for a 32-yard touchdown and Lane on a couple of crucial drive-extending catches. King Miller also ran well, finishing with 124 yards rushing, 42 receiving and two total touchdowns, earning him USC's player of the game. Finishing the regular season 9-3 is better than most expected, but in some ways it still feels like a disappointment with the opportunity to make the College Football Playoffs just a missed field goal at Illinois away. The guys take a look at the season as a whole and discuss why Lincoln Riley said this campaign was an important springboard towards the future success of this Trojan football team. DJ & PK talked about the chances that Kalani Sitake would leave the BYU Cougars to be the head coach at Penn State.
It was a very ugly first half, but the USC Trojans stuck to their 2025 mantra and dominated the UCLA Bruins in the 2nd half to keep the Victory Bell and finish the season 9-3. It was a bit of a roller coaster, but overall, the 2025 season will be seen as one that put the program on an upward trajectory. Lincoln Riley said in his post-game press conference that this will not be the best team that plays at USC, but it will be the most important one. Ryan Dyrud and Tim Prangley give their immediate reaction from the field at the Coliseum, and a brief synopsis of the season as a whole. USC's Lincoln Riley failed, admittedly so, by using the Transfer Portal too much during his first two seasons in Los Angeles. He's corrected his error and the Trojans' recruiting efforts are going to pay dividends with the nation's #1 recruiting class. How long before those top-notch football prospects pay dividends?Bringing back Jayden Maiava and a bevy of talented players could see the Trojans compete for the 2026 College Football Playoff. There is always a ton of conversation centered around a football team's discipline, and specifically, if the USC Trojans would fall into the category of a disciplined team. I asked head coach Lincoln Riley this very thing: What is his philosophy on the matter, and how does he and his staff coach it up? What do the numbers say, and is this team trending towards being one of the more disciplined teams in college football? Let's take a look! Plus, a big injury update as USC will be without 2 key players against UCLA. Tune in and make sure to like and subscribe to the USC LAFB YouTube Channel! In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern India Otto are back in studio following USC's disappointing 42-27 loss at Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. The loss only dropped SC two spots in the latest CFP top-25 rankings, but with three losses there is essentially no chance to climb up into the top-11 to secure one of the at-large spots. The Trojans will wrap up the regular season with an opportunity to go 9-3, facing off against crosstown rival UCLA in the Coliseum Saturday afternoon. The Bruins started the season looking like the worst team in the country, fired head coach DeShaun Foster, named Tim Skipper as the interim head coach, fired offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri, named Jerry Neuheisel as the play caller and then did the impossible, beat No. 7 Penn State. The Bruins went on to beat Michigan State and Maryland, then came crashing back down to earth, losing the last four games by a combined 129 points. The crew gives their thoughts on the concerns coming out of the Oregon game, the potential for overlooking the Bruins, where the team is health wise and Lincoln Riley's future with the USC football program. With the playoffs off the table, they also discuss which bowl games are the most likely and who some of the potential opponents could be. Then, we spotlight the historic milestones: RB Kaytron Allen shattering the all-time career rushing yards record with a 160-yard outburst, surpassing Evan Royster's mark in emotional fashion. Plus, RB Nick Singleton's two-score day tying Saquon Barkley's legendary all-time touchdowns record—could he break it in the finale? Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return to podcast form to break down USC's disappointing 42-27 loss to Oregon on the road that leaves the Trojans still searching for their first win in Autzen Stadium since 2011. Shotgun takes on the 'Two-Minute Drill' first, discussing USC's growth as a program, but how it still measures up short to that national-title-contending tier. Chris spends his time talking about some Oregon experiences, including a disastrous La Quinta Inn stay. The HBs move into the 'Stock Up, Stock Down' segment, which features the Trojan special teams, freshman wide receiver Tanook Hines, safety Kennedy Urlacher, tackling on the road and much more. The Helium Boys then dive into the second half of the show to see if the Trojans can close out the year with nine wins in the regular season against crosstown rival UCLA, one of the worst teams in the Big Ten. Chris puts Shotgun through another edition of Take It or Leave It with takes on Lincoln Riley's hot seat for 2026, Makai Lemon's Biletnikoff race and tackles for a loss. Hosts Brad Fowler and Alex Higdon break down all the biggest storylines from Week 12 in the NFL and Week 13 in College Football. We cover — the Colts melting down late against the Chiefs as Daniel Jones struggles through a brutal second half and Shane Steichen gets way too conservative in a game Kansas City tried to give away. The Eagles jump out to a 21–0 lead on Dallas before completely collapsing for the final 41 minutes, raising even more questions about Nick Sirianni and this offense. Detroit survives the Giants in overtime, but with another blown lead by New York and more troubling signs that the Lions are slipping out of the contender tier. Minnesota hits rock bottom as JJ McCarthy’s regression turns into a full-blown crisis, and the GM who chose him over proven veterans should be feeling the heat. Plus — the Bears rally behind the best performance of Caleb Williams’ young career, the Steelers stumble with Mason Rudolph, and Sheduer Sanders wins his first NFL start as the Browns try to evaluate both rookie QBs down the stretch. In College Football, Oregon moves one win away from the CFP after shutting down USC’s explosive offense, while the Trojans once again come up light under Lincoln Riley. The Ducks dominate despite injuries to their top receivers and offensive linemen, while USC’s rebuild continues to lag far behind their West Coast rival. Plus — this week’s NFL Game Ball and CFB Helmet Sticker winners.

On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Ryan Abraham, Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping USC's 42-27 loss to Oregon, knocking the Trojans out of the College Football Playoff picture. Facing the No. 7 ranked Ducks, the No. 15 Trojans needed to play a clean game in Autzen Stadium and unfortunately it was anything but from Lincoln Riley and company. Major special teams blunders, including a leaping penalty on a punt and punt return for a touchdown, put points directly on the board for Oregon and that was simply too much for the Trojans to overcome. The crew breaks down the game, discussing what went right for the Men of Troy and what went wrong, and how the Ducks provided a real opportunity for an upset with some sloppy play of their own. Offensively USC put up 100 more passing yards than any of Oregon's opponents this season, but Jayden Maiava did have two costly interceptions and the run game was essentially non existent. Defensively USC played better in the second half but just couldn't get enough stops to slow down the Ducks potent offense. Special teams was an absolute disaster, starting with a kickoff out of bounds, a kick catch interference call, leaping that took away a USC stop and led to a Ducks touchdown, giving up a punt return for a touchdown and then a missed short field goal. At a minimum that cost USC 17 points in a game it lost by 15. Despite the loss, the potential for 10 wins is still a major improvement over last season, but being unable to pull off a win in any of the three toughest road games is a tough pill to swallow for the Trojans. He gives Oklahoma their flowers, reminding everyone how Brent Venables proved the entire country wrong and rebuilt the Sooners into an SEC playoff threat when everybody else called them Nebraska 2.0. And he closes by breaking down why Mike Norvell surviving at Florida State is less about belief and more about chess, setting up the blockbuster move FSU could make next year

On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's Connor Morrissette (aka "Triple-Double") and intern Riley Sager are back in studio recapping the Trojans 26-21 come from behind victory over the Hawkeyes in a stormy Coliseum. The weather favored the visitors, with heavy rains bogging down the playing surface and adding extra challenges to the passing attacks. Iowa jumped out to an early lead, surprisingly through the air, and kept USC off-balance for most of the first half. Head coach Lincoln Riley and his squad got things right in the second half, shutting down the Hawkeyes on offense and utilizing wide receivers Makai Lemon and Ja'Kobi Lane, allowing USC to overcome Riley's largest halftime deficit in the Coliseum. Connor and Riley have finally dried out and talk about their experiences in a rare rain game in the Coliseum and how the Trojans fought through adversity, showed some toughness and grit and delivered what Riley called a "culture win" for USC. Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return for another highly anticipated episode of the Helium Boys Podcast to discuss USC's big 38-17 win over Northwestern and a big homecoming matchup with Iowa this weekend. Shotgun spends his 'Two-Minute Drill' to set the mood for this matchup with Iowa and head coach Kirk Ferentz, who has directly taken some shots at head coach Lincoln Riley and the Trojans in recent years. Chris spends his 'Two-Minute Drill' discussing how Saturday will be a good measuring stick for USC in terms of how far the program has come since the loss to the Hawkeyes in the 2019 Holiday Bowl. The Helium Boys then dive into Stock Up, Stock Down from the home victory over Northwestern, which includes a lengthy discussion about numerology and fake punts as well as Ja'Kobi Lane's making a number of difficult catches. King Miller, Braylon Conley, Carlon Jones, Matai Tagoa'i, Makai Lemon and Jide Abasiri are among the other players mentioned positively while the offensive line had one of their worst performances of the season. In the second half of the show, Chris and Shotgun look at the Iowa Hawkeyes, coming off a narrow 18-16 loss at home to No. 7 Oregon. The Trojans will welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes to the Coliseum for the first time since 1976, which was a 55-0 blowout win for USC. This will be their first ever meeting as Big Ten opponents. This will be a rematch of the 2019 Holiday Bowl in San Diego where Iowa dominated in the second half to a 49-24 win. The Helium Boys take some quick questions before Chris forces Shotgun into another strange blind ranking. RUNDOWN Mitch solves last week's "mafia lookalike" mystery — listeners decide he's a dead ringer for The Sopranos' Michael Imperioli. The guys riff through Goodfellas lore, Seahawks' second straight blowout win, and Von Miller's hilarious regret about choosing Washington over Seattle ("it's like turning down a girl who became a movie star"). Heartfelt condolences to the family of Lenny Wilkens, celebrating the Hall of Famer's legacy as both player and coach — and his decades as the Pacific Northwest's ultimate basketball statesman. Then it's back to football as the guys revel in another stress-free Seahawks blowout, highlighted by two identical sack-fumble touchdowns from Tyrese Knight and DeMarcus Lawrence. Mitch welcomes back Brady Henderson and Jacson Bevens for another Seahawks No-Table after a 44-22 dismantling of the Cardinals. The crew marvels at a team that suddenly looks like a legitimate Super Bowl contender, while debating the sloppy second half and the emerging run-game breakthrough. They dig into injury updates on Ernest Jones, and Jarran Reed, the trade for Rashid Shaheed, and the defense's uncanny "next-man-up" magic under Mike Macdonald. Mitch reconnects with Rick Neuheisel, presented by Taco Time Northwest, to unpack a wild week in college football — starting with Washington's shocking collapse in Madison. Rick calls it a "disaster," offers perspective on Jed Fisch's road woes, and shares how leadership, not logistics, separates winners from whiners. From there, the conversation races across the national landscape: Penn State's heartbreak at Happy Valley, Texas Tech's oil-fueled rise, and which Group of Five team might crash the playoff. Then Neuheisel dives into Lincoln Riley's number-swap trickery — calling it "legal but unethical" — before handing out Taco Time honors. Mitch reconvenes the Seattle Kraken No-Table with RJ Eskanos and Dylan Travers of Emerald City Hockey for the team's first check-in of the season. Despite a solid early record and a near-top Pacific Division standing, the panel wonders how sustainable it really is. RJ notes that the offense remains among the league's weakest, while Dylan credits new head coach Lane Lambert for installing a defense-first system that maximizes effort and structure.
