In this episode, host Kalie Moore talks with Dmitri M. Johnson and Mike Goldberg, Co-founders of Story Kitchen, the studio behind major game-to-screen adaptations spanning Sonic the Hedgehog, Tomb Raider, Streets of Rage, and more. We explore how transmedia is evolving in a UGC-first world, where players don't just consume IP, they shape it, and why Roblox worlds are starting to look less like “games” and more like living franchises. The conversation dives into what actually makes a game adaptable (and when it shouldn't be touched), how Story Kitchen stays aligned with developers and communities, and why they don't chase heat even when a title is exploding. Dmitri and Mike also unpack Story Kitchen's producer-first business model, the realities of timing and greenlight power in Hollywood, and what UGC creators should focus on if they ever want their worlds to travel beyond the platform. We'd like to thank Overwolf for making this episode possible! Vragen of opmerkingen? Mail ons op allinthegame@bnr.nl Over All in the GameAll in the Game is de podcast over games voor iedereen. TimeSplitters Rewind is deels remaster, deels remake, deels opvolger én deels fan-mod. In this captivating episode, journey with us through the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland—from the historic streets of Dundee to the enchanting capital of Edinburgh—as we welcome special guest Mark Anderson, co-host of the acclaimed The Scottish Paranormal Podcast.Mark shares a wealth of firsthand paranormal experiences: growing up in a profoundly haunted home, witnessing unexplained UFOs dancing across the Scottish skies, and encountering mysterious entities that emerged from nearby forests to linger ominously outside his residence. He recounts a mind-bending moment when reality itself seemed to shift—the sky transforming into an ethereal purple hue, evoking the otherworldly portals of Stranger Things.Adding to the intrigue, Mark describes a profound and unforgettable encounter during a school trip to France: an extraordinary interaction with what he believes was an angelic presence. Far from traditional depictions, this manifestation left an indelible mark of divine or celestial intervention. In the 90s, one of the era's most iconic games was the Sonic franchise on the Sega Mega Drive. Mark recounts a truly bizarre moment while playing Sonic the Hedgehog, when the character suddenly displayed uncharacteristic movements that seemed completely outside the bounds of the game.Join us as we venture deep into the misty Scottish Highlands, uncovering the nation's most extraordinary and enigmatic phenomena that blur the line between the known and the unimaginable. We are thrilled to announce the official launch of Let's Get Freaky merchandise! Morris, whose claims to fame include the Fast & The Furious and Sonic The Hedgehog film franchises, to kickstart a new live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film franchise.Sony Pictures has made one of the biggest book acquisitions of 2025, landing film adaptation rights to James Islington's Hierarchy series. If you can't find something to enjoy in this movie, I have to question whether or not you have a soul. The movie is to video games what Toy Story is to toys. We watch Ralph struggle in his role as a bad guy when he isn't really a "bad" guy, and when he sets out to prove it to the NPCs in his game, the world of Fix It Felix Jr comes crashing down. Add in an adorable sidekick, a badass heroine, and more video game easter eggs than you can count, and you have one hell of a movie.Pending RTG Hall of Famer Mark McCue is my guest this week and we praised the piss out of this movie. Laughing at our favourite scenes, pointing out the best cameos (and speculating on what it cost to get Bowser to appear)...this was just a really fun episode. No rage, no arguing, just two man-children geeking out about a movie for kids. And before we wreck it, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if Sega could take Nintendo down today if they were still in the console market? Are game consoles a good investment by the cost of entertainment today? And Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat?Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 games that star villains from the movie: Super Mario Bros. 3, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Street Fighter 2.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
