Daarover hoor je alles in deze Mini-Game Round-Up van All in the Game. Vragen? Mail ons! Op allinthegame@bnr.nl Over All in the GameAll in the Game is de podcast over games voor iedereen. Vragen? Hosts STEPHEN SCARLATA (producer, Jodorowsky's Dune) and JOSH MILLER (writer, Sonic The Hedgehog, Violent Night) put on their power rings to battle DC Comics' oddball attempt to make a comedic GREEN LANTERN movie, written by comedy legend ROBERT SMIGEL and meant to star JACK BLACK. We take a look at another Mini Series in the Sonic Series. This is also the last Sonic Comic you will hear from us till next year. Since we are wrapping up how much is done in the Large Tarde forms. Come hear us talk about Scrapnik Island which is the closet to a horro Sonic Comic we will probably ever get. Starring Mike Albertin, and Phoebe Stanton.
Vragen? Op allinthegame@bnr.nl Over All in the GameAll in the Game is de podcast over games voor iedereen. Het komt allemaal aan bod in All in the Game. Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed a live-action The Jetsons movie starring Jim Carrey on its Q2 2026 earnings call, and Frank breaks down why the casting is doing all the heavy lifting so far. A Jetsons reboot on its own would be an easy shrug. The Flintstones already ran that play in the 90s. What makes this one different is that Carrey is in the middle of a genuine second wind, coming off the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise and heading into a Grinch remake.Frank makes the case that Warner Bros. has the tools to do something stranger than a straight adaptation. Barbie proved the studio will greenlight a meta take on a legacy property, and The Jetsons is sitting on an obvious hook: the retro-futurist world the show promised in 1962 is not the future anyone actually got. Pull George Jetson into the real 2026 and let him ask where his flying car went while he stares at a Roomba. That is a movie with a reason to exist beyond nostalgia. The segment closes with a look at the rest of the earnings call, which mostly reaffirmed titles already on the books. Aegon's Conquest from the Game of Thrones universe, the next Matrix installment, and the next Batman film all sit on the same post-2027 slate as The Jetsons.Solo segment, no guest on this one.0:00 Jim Carrey lands The Jetsons0:24 The Jim Carrey second wind, from Sonic to The Grinch0:40 What a Barbie-style meta approach could unlock0:58 Making a Jetsons movie worth watching1:11 Digging through the rest of the WB earnings callJim Carrey is attached to star in a live-action The Jetsons, presumably as George Jetson, confirmed on the Warner Bros. Show Notes On this week's podcast, Dan and Kris board the SAG Cartoon Express for some Sonic the Hedgehog. And it was… fine? They viewed the first episode of the show commonly referred to as Sonic SatAM, and while Kris remembered liking it a lot in the old days, does it hold up today? Then, in Week Old News, Sony makes a strange social media choice, the Street Fighter movie drops an electrifying new clip, Fullset brings the Nintendo 64 online, and more! Finally, in the Checkpoint, Kris counterpoints Dan's unabashed love of Moss, while professing his own unabashed love of Oh Jellies, the new game from Dadish's creator. Meanwhile, Dan got to see the new Spider-Man, and celebrated Christmas in July. Enjoy! Continuing our I Love the 90s series, we move on to 1991, when kids lined up for Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis while nightly newscasts tracked the crumbling Soviet Union. Don and Dude drop the needle on one polished R&B and soul album and one heavy, alternative release that helped define the decade's sound, connecting both records to a world of Terminator 2 topping the box office, dial up bulletin boards and flannel becoming a fashion statement. The AlbumsMichael Jackson – Dangerous (1991)Michael Jackson's eighth studio album marked his first major release not built around the Quincy Jones partnership, moving deeper into Teddy Riley's New Jack Swing while still keeping rock, gospel and widescreen pop in the mix. Opening with the hard, compressed groove of "Jam" featuring Heavy D, the record moves through the confessional soul of "Remember the Time," the Slash powered rock detour "Give Into Me," and message songs like "Black or White" and "Heal the World" before closing on the theatrical title track. At nearly 80 minutes across fourteen songs, Dangerous plays as a restless, ambitious time capsule of early 1990s R&B, pop and social commentary.Soundgarden – Badmotorfinger (1991)Seattle sound architects Soundgarden built their third album around unusual time signatures, drop tunings and Chris Cornell's four octave vocal range, with new bassist Ben Shepherd pushing the classic lineup into more collaborative songwriting. Produced by Terry Date and released in October 1991 alongside Nevermind, Ten and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the record opens with the shape shifting "Rusty Cage" and moves through the radio breakthrough "Outshined," the controversial "Jesus Christ Pose" and the horn laced "Room a Thousand Years Wide" before ending on the slow, unsettling "New Damage." Heavier and stranger than its Seattle peers, Badmotorfinger became the blueprint for everything Soundgarden built afterward.Diggin AlbumsDead Pioneers – Wagon Burner (2026):The Denver punk band fronted by Gregg Deal pushes past its hardcore roots into heavier riffs and wider atmosphere while keeping its Indigenous rooted, confrontational social commentary intact.Andy Shauf – The Neon Skyline (2020):The Canadian singer songwriter's largely self performed concept album follows a single bar room night confronting an old flame through warm chamber pop arrangements built on memory, regret and missed opportunities.Charli xcx – Music, Fashion, Film (2026):Coming off brat and her Wuthering Heights scoring work, the British pop artist reteams with A. G. Cook and composer Finn Keane on a seventh album that crosses her music, style and cinema worlds behind cover art pairing John Cale, Marc Jacobs and Martin Scorsese.Robyn Hitchcock – Stranded in the Future (2026):The British singer songwriter's second memoir, written and illustrated by Hitchcock himself, traces his teenage and early adult years from 1968 to 1978 as he discovers music and forms the Soft Boys.Follow & Support Follow the show on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Bluesky @albumnerds, and support the podcast by subscribing, rating, reviewing and sharing it with another music obsessive who still loves hearing whole albums front to back."Hasta la vista, baby." - The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991).
(Note: This is a special remastered release of an episode originally recorded in late 2020, available in video format for the very first time!)Actor and comedian Adam Pally joins me to defend Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. We discuss why this 1995 Jim Carrey vehicle is an underappreciated masterpiece of physical comedy, with Adam comparing it to Charlie Chaplin's City Lights. We dive into the film's relentless pacing and perfect 82-minute runtime, the unforgettable animatronic rhino birth scene, and the brilliant supporting performance from Tommy Davidson.Along the way, we discuss Adam's experience working alongside Jim Carrey on Sonic the Hedgehog, the stylistic differences between Carrey's clown-like comedic performances and Adam Sandler's frustrated everyman characters in the 90s, and why the critics were entirely wrong to give this movie a 25% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Terminal throws readers right into a chaotic, violent world. When you were building the first issue, how did you approach onboarding readers without giving too much away? The book opens with some striking and surreal imagery, especially the eye and the idea of Maculox. What was the origin of that concept, and how central is it to the larger mythology? There's a clear tension between evolution and destruction running through the story. How did you want to frame that conflict without falling into a simple good versus evil dynamic? The first issue makes some bold narrative choices in terms of expectations around who the story might follow. Without getting into spoilers, should readers expect that kind of unpredictability to be a core part of the series? Robert and Joe, how does your collaboration work on a project like this? Are you breaking story together, dividing scripts, or building off each other's strengths in a specific way? Andy, the character designs, especially on the more villainous side, feel really eclectic and distinct. What were your inspirations when developing the look of this world and its characters? There's a bit of a “hidden world” structure here, where a regular person is pulled into something much bigger. What drew you to that kind of setup, and how do you keep it feeling fresh? The series feels like it has big, long-term potential, but also a very focused central idea. Is the plan for Terminal to be a long-running series, or are you working toward a more defined endpoint? For all three of you, what was the moment in developing Terminal where you realized this was something special or different from other superhero books you've worked on or read?

Rangers perform a broad range of duties that vary by jurisdiction, agency, and specific park needs.[1] These responsibilities typically encompass law enforcement, wildlife and natural resource management, community engagement and education, maintenance of recreation areas, and emergency response, including firefighting. Many rangers hold law enforcement authority, allowing them to investigate violations, issue citations, and make arrests.[2]Archie Comics' Knuckles The Echidna #400:00 Intro04:07 The Phantom City19:04 Discussion48:31 Outro-----Gotta Talk Fast is an oral review of Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog. This week on the AIPT Comics Podcast, we're joined by Scott Snyder for one of our favorite conversations of the year. We dive deep into Absolute Batman, the newly announced animated series, why he believes monthly comics need to embrace what makes the medium unique, and the creative philosophy driving one of comics' biggest successes. It's a candid, wide-ranging discussion on storytelling, the future of superhero comics, and why taking big swings matters more than ever. Visit our Patreon page to see the various tiers you can sign up for today to get in on the ground floor of AIPT Patreon. We hope to see you chatting with us on our Discord soon! Manga storytelling influence Joe Kelly recently mentioned how manga like One Piece can devote entire chapters to a single action sequence, something that's harder to replicate in American comics because of page counts and production realities. Is manga storytelling an influence on your work, and do you find yourself thinking about how to capture that same sense of scale and rhythm within Western comics? 2. Marvel and DC I recently spoke with Josh Williamson about writing Iron Man, and it was fascinating hearing how he's consulting on DC projects while also becoming part of Marvel's plans. Seeing creators move more freely between publishers these days, does that ever make you want to jump back into Marvel for another major project? 3. Harley Quinn and Joker The revelation that Joker is Harley's father completely reframes both characters. What made that the right relationship for the Absolute Universe, and what storytelling opportunities does it create that couldn't exist with their traditional dynamic 4. Designing Gotham's monsters Body horror and transformation have become defining visual elements of Absolute Batman. What are your guiding principles when reinventing characters like Poison Ivy, Clayface, and others while still making them instantly recognizable? 8. Absolute Batman animated series You're serving as showrunner on the newly announced Absolute Batman animated series. How does that creative role differ from making comics, and what has surprised you most about translating this version of Batman to animation? 10. Court of Owls Finally, the Court of Owls has entered the picture. Without spoiling anything, what can readers expect from your take on one of the most important Batman concepts you've ever created?

We talk more about the FIFA World Cup and the matches I attended in Atlanta. Jersey Jack Pinball has announced a new pinball machine based on Sonic The Hedgehog, and the headlines once again focus on the high price of owning pinball. Find a pinball arcade near you and request it so you can play it for just a dollar or two! The Steam Machine has launched with a price much higher than Valve initially intended due to the RAM and storage shortages. Valve has released a new version of SteamOS that can now run on any AMD desktop - for free. Grand Theft Auto VI will not release with a physical edition on consoles, and it came out later that it will NEVER launch with a physical edition. Then we talk to Jamie from OLR IIDX about Transformers Pinball and the 24th anniversary of Orange Lounge Radio.

We kick things off with The Spleen at war with robot delivery drones after Spencer got revenge on Chipotle's automated phone system in the most creative way possible. Zoom's aggressively updated facial tracking software keeps mistaking a Jigglypuff plushie for Spencer's face, then we debate the finer points of anti-drone technology including tandem puppets and dazzle camouflage. From there we drift into a full breakdown of the Ice Cube War of the Worlds movie that came out in 2025 after apparently sitting on a shelf for five years, and we cover all the reasons aliens who travel across the galaxy specifically to eat data make absolutely no scientific sense. Kevin licks a battery for content, immediately regrets it, then accidentally covers his hands and keyboard in blue dye. The Mountain Dew Dunkin' donuts get reviewed (a slightly sad lemon loaf), alongside a Canada Dry strawberry ginger ale that smells better than it tastes. We also get serious for a bit: The election was probably rigged (twice, different people each time), Gaza and voter apathy are actually connected, and the blood is on all our hands whether you voted or not. Then we pivot to the 35th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, why the original ugly movie design was an inexcusable disaster, and a spirited debate about base-12 mathematics sparked by a listener manifesto. If you're searching for: weird snack reviews, political rants, AI drone paranoia, Sonic anniversary, election conspiracy theories, base-12 math, or just two guys completely failing to run a competent video call... this is That Happens. Alex and Luke Talk Sonic the Hedgehog 2.Speed was the promise. Trauma was the water level. Developed by Sega Technical Institute and published by Sega, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 launched for the Sega Genesis in November 1992 and cemented Sonic as Mario's true '90s rival. With the debut of Tails, the spin dash, bigger levels, and an even louder attitude, Sonic 2 became one of the defining platformers of its era. Three decades later, it remains a fascinating snapshot of the console wars—equal parts brilliant, frustrating, and unmistakably Sega.At the time of recording, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 holds a Metacritic score of 83. According to HowLongToBeat, the main story averages around 2.5 hours, though that's assuming you're actually making it through Death Egg Zone. As Alex and Luke quickly rediscover, Sonic wants you to go fast... while constantly punishing you for doing exactly that. Save states? No judgment here.Alex played on an original Sega Genesis, the Mega SG, and an Anbernic RG Arc D while Luke tackled the game on a Sega Genesis Mini. Alex rolled credits—with a healthy assist from modern conveniences—while Luke bowed out before the finish line after reliving enough childhood trauma to satisfy him. Along the way, the brothers revisit the Genesis vs. Super Nintendo rivalry, debate whether Sonic 3 is secretly the superior game, and marvel at just how strange Sonic's world becomes once you leave Green Hill behind. This episode is unofficially brought to you in part by little kid bikes. Whether they're balance bikes, pedal bikes, or training wheels, watching your kid discover two wheels for the first time never gets old.Audio Credits:"Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Main Theme)" from the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Original Soundtrack — composed by Masato Nakamura — © Sega.Original theme music owned by Low Five Gaming.Send us a Voice Message.
