We know that Daniel Vogelbach hits his home runs in bunches, and now he's hit two in four day, doubling his season total after hitting one each in April and May. Vogelbach also has matched his total from 2018, the year that he opened his account in the majors after cups of coffee with the Mariners in 2016 and 2017.Vogelbach only played 37 games for Seattle in 2018, before really breaking out in 2019 with his 30-homer campaign. In 2018, Vogelbach homered on April 13 and 14, and on September 16 and 17. Like this year, his fourth homer of the 2018 season came in Houston. Not a pattern: Vogelbach's other fourth homers of the season have come in Chicago, Milwaukee (twice, both at home), and Detroit.Vogelbach's first career dinger? That's the start of his home run chain.* Daniel Vogelbach hit his first home run off Chris Hatcher, 4/13/18* Chris Hatcher gave up his first home run to Nick Hundley, 8/20/11* Nick Hundley hit his first home run off Franquelis Osoria, 7/26/08* Franquelis Osoria gave up his first home run to Dallas McPherson, 6/24/05* Dallas McPherson hit his first home run off Gil Meche, 9/22/04* Gil Meche gave up his first home run to Kelly Stinnett, 7/19/99* Kelly Stinnett hit his first home run off Allen Watson, 5/5/94* Allen Watson gave up his first home run to Jeff Bagwell, 7/18/93* Jeff Bagwell hit his first home run off Kent Mercker, 4/15/91* Kent Mercker gave up his first home run to Tom Herr, 7/3/90* Tom Herr hit his first home run off Andy McGaffigan, 5/10/83* Andy McGaffigan gave up his first home run to Rich Dauer, 9/24/81* Rich Dauer hit his first home run off Bill Lee, 6/9/77* Bill Lee gave up his first home run to Frank Howard, 6/29/69* Frank Howard hit his first home run off Robin Roberts, 9/10/58* Robin Roberts gave up his first home run to Wally Westlake, 6/18/48* Wally Westlake hit his first home run off Joe Beggs, 4/18/47* Joe Beggs gave up his first home run to Dario Lodigiani, 4/25/38* Dario Lodigiani hit his first home run off Emerson Dickman, 4/24/38That was the first home run allowed by Emerson Dickman, who later in 1938 gave up dingers to Ken Keltner in Cleveland and Joe DiMaggio at Fenway Park. Keltner wound up hitting five homers off Dickman, the most of anyone among the 38 dingers Dickman served up, while Joe D. belted three — as many as Keltner hit in a single game on May 25, 1939 at Fenway. DiMaggio got to Dickman twice in a week in 1940, once at Fenway, once in the Bronx. And then Keltner got DiMaggio in 1941. This is a public episode.
