The Philadelphia Phillies were pounded by the New York Mets in game 1 of this 4 game set. Aaron Nola got rocked with 2 strikes, Bohm didn't help defensively, and the offense still isn't electric enough. #Phillies #Mets #MLB SeatGeek Promo Code: BRODES This will save you $20 on your total purchase! The New York Mets piled on 10 runs on Wednesday to sweep the Cincinnati Reds in convincing fashion. Daniel Vogelbach and Tyler Naquin played a big role in the rout, as the Mets deadline additions continue to pay massive dividends. Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the sweep and also dives into the numbers behind the Mets improvements offensively post-deadline. The new trio of Naquin, Vogelbach and Darin Ruf have produced way more than the previous group of JD Davis, Dom Smith and Travis Jankowksi. Now the Mets have the best offense in baseball since the deadline and these new Mets have played a huge part in that. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Host Peter Kennedy is joined by The Designated Hitters Alec Argento and Andrew Calagna to talk all things Mets and Yankees with their established post trade deadline rosters, current play the last two weeks, and a final stretch outlook. (0:00 - 1:07:00) The Yankees and Mets both made moves at the MLB trade deadline but perhaps not the splashes fans were longing for. How will the Yankees deal with their injuries, pitching staff coming back to earth, and an incomplete lineup? Is Frankie Montas enough to re-solidify this rotation? Are these last two weeks a part of normal ups and downs of a great season or should Yankees fans start to seriously worry? The Mets made moves more so in the margins than with waves: Vogelbach, Ruf, and Naquin - but did these moves do enough to create a talent filled hole-less roster? How good can this pitching staff be with deGrom back, Max Scherzer, Chris Bassit, and Carlos Carrasco? Plus Edwin Diaz's spectacular stuff and incredible closing run. Plus, we debate the Mets and Yankees current fan rivalry and if Yankees fans really 'want the smoke'. Are Yankees fans mentally hedging with their attitude towards their cross-town rival? (1:07:00 - 1:19:30) We give our first look takes at the New York Giants and discuss what Daniel Jones and co. need to do to consider this season a success. (1:19:30 - 1:30:32) Lastly, we discuss our level of excitement for She-Hulk the latest Disney + MCU property about to drop and how the D+ series are shaping the MCU. Follow along as Kevin Clancy (aka KFC Barstool) and Clem (aka The Clem Report) battle through another season with The New York Mets. Will the Mets finally make history with Uncle Stevie (Steve Cohen) at the helm of the franchise? Or did the Wilpons curse the team and ruin all hope of ever winning a World Series? C-Lo is in for Jerry and gets us started with a highlight of Daniel Vogelbach's first Mets home run, a grand slam in a 9-5 win over the Nationals. Mychal Givens made his Met debut and struggled, to put it lightly. Sal doesn't want to hear about travel and short turn-arounds. The Yankees' Wednesday afternoon game wasn't as kind to them as Gerrit Cole allowed three home runs and six total runs in the first inning of a 7-3 loss. Andrew Benintendi is off to a slow start and the Padres new acquisitions are already thriving.
Powered by a strong outing from Chris Bassitt along with a two-run home run by slugger Pete Alonso that was outshined by a grand slam from recently acquired Daniel Vogelbach the Mets won 9-5 as they take their midweek series against the Nationals.
Brooke just spent a bunch of time w/ Najee Harris and she filled us in on her inside look w/ the Steelers RB. Brooke says that Najee worked out at least three times a day in the offseason. Brooke says that both Conner Heyward and Derek Watt will make the roster. Brooke called the QB play "uninspiring" through the first week or so of training camp. Vogelbach hit a grand slam for the Mets yesterday. We revisit our Twitter poll. The results are interesting...EPIC ENDING

Hour One: BT and Tiki start the show with some positive vibes from the Mets bounce back weekend. However, they feel that Vogelbach - although getting a standing O from fans at Citi Field - is not the answer. Is it Soto? Should Cohen and the front office just go for it? They also spoke of the Yankees positive weekend especially from Aaron Judge. It's also not all rosy in Mets world and both Brandon and Tiki have some critiques for the way the team looks this season.
What does training camp really matter in the battle for QB1? We think the position will be won and lost in the preseason games. How will the roster be managed in these games? Won't the QB's need to be given similar conditions? Colin brought up the point that for all Mike Tomlin has done, he's never been through this. GET MONEY. THE FIVE - Alternate helmets, Vogelbach, Ben thoughts, baseball hall, did you agree w/ anything that Ben said? We got into how Colin and Chris can't stand the Mets. Poni roots for both teams! TWITTER POLL - Do you sleep with your socks on? We revisit Pat Narduzzi's comments from Friday.
The New York Mets offense finally came alive on Sunday night, piling on eight runs to salvage a win and avoid getting swept by the San Diego Padres. Daniel Vogelbach made his Mets debut, but it was the Polar Bear that stole the show, blasting a three-run homer that woke up the Mets offense. Pete Alonso was not done, as he drove in another run to help catapult the lineup back into action. Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down the big win and talks about who could be the best complement to Vogelbach at DH. With the Mets having a standing offer for Josh Bell, would it be worth potentially dealing David Peterson for the best bat (not named Juan Soto) on the market? Also a series preview of what lies ahead against the crosstown rival New York Yankees. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Built Bar Built Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. The New York Mets have made their first trade ahead of the deadline, acquiring slugger Daniel Vogelbach from the Pirates in exchange for reliever Collin Holderman. While Holderman has been a great reliever for the Mets this year, host Ryan Finkelstein explains why a bullpen crunch with Trevor May's imminent return made Holderman expendable as the lone piece required to acquire Vogelbach. Looking at his overall numbers, fans might not be impressed with Vogelbach, but if he is only used against right-handed pitching, this could be a great add to fill the Mets void at DH. Pirates hit 4 homers today to power through and secure the series win. Hayes, Chavis, Cruz, and Vogelbach each went deep for the team's 13 total hits today. Oneil Cruz's HR was crushed for 416 feet on a swing that looked so nonchalant and almost hit the Toyota Tundra. On top of that, he also turned on the burners to get himself to third base from first on a bloop single to center that helped him score the 2nd. Tyler and Jim discuss what they have seen from Cruz to this point as far as challenges.Ke'Bryan Hayes was a triple shy of a cycle in a much needed breakout type of game. MLB – Major League Baseball Yesterday Detroit Tigers 3, New York Yankees 0 Cleveland Guardians 3, Chicago White Sox 0 Pittsburgh Pirates 4, Chicago Cubs 3 Tigers 3, Yankees 0 – Cabrera intentionally walked with 2,999 hits as Tigers beat Yankees 3-0 New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone went from Scrooge to Santa Claus in the eyes of Tigers fans on Thursday in Detroit. Boone elected to intentionally walk Miguel Cabrera in the eighth inning, denying the Tigers designated hitter of a chance for his 3,000th career hit. The decision came with two runners on, two out and the Tigers clinging to a 1-0 lead. One batter later, Austin Meadows blooped a two-run double to put Detroit ahead by three in a 3-0 shutout of New York. Former Yankee Michael Pineda picked up his first win as a Tiger, yielding three hits over five innings. Robbie Grossman doubled home Detroit's first run off hard-luck loser David Mongomery, who allowed just two other hits while becoming the first Yankee to throw six innings this year. Guardians 3, White Sox 0 – Naylor, Plesac lead Guardians to sweep of White Sox 6-3 Josh Naylor had two hits and two RBIs, continuing his comeback from a devastating leg injury and helping the Cleveland Guardians complete a series sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a 6-3 victory. Cleveland took both games of a doubleheader on Wednesday against Chicago, which has lost four straight. Naylor hit an RBI single in the fifth and a run-scoring double in the seventh. He was activated Friday after suffering multiple fractures in his right leg during an outfield collision last June. Pirates 4, Cubs 3 – Vogelbach's HR rallies Pirates past Cubs 4-3 Daniel Vogelbach hit a two-run homer, Yoshi Tsutsugo had a two-run double and the Pittsburgh Pirates rallied past the Chicago Cubs 4-3. The Pirates rebounded from a three-game sweep at Milwaukee with nine hits in the opener of a four-game series at Chicago. Pittsburgh starter Bryse Wilson allowed Rafael Ortega's leadoff single in the first, then walked three straight batters. Jonathan Villar added a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead, and Seiya Suzuki had an RBI groundout in the second for a 3-0 edge. Vogelbach homered in the third, and Tsutsugo's double made it 4-3 Pirates in the fifth. The 39-year-old star needs one more hit to become the 33rd major leaguer to reach the milestone and the first from Venezuela to do it. Cabrera is set to face a fellow Venezuelan, Rockies pitcher Antonio Senzatela, in the series opener. Cabrera went 0 for 3, striking out twice, and stayed at 2,999 hits in a 3-0 win over the Yankees on Thursday. He drew an intentional walk in the eighth inning, prompting loud booing and chanting from Detroit fans. NBA – Bucks' Middleton out at least 2 weeks with knee injury Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton is expected to miss at least two weeks after injuring his left knee Wednesday night in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series with the Chicago Bulls. The Bucks announced Thursday night that the three-time All-Star had undergone an MRI earlier that day and that they would offer their next status update on him in “approximately two weeks.” That likely knocks him out at least for the rest of the Bucks-Bulls series.
