dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. How are you? How's the weather where you live? This winter in Toronto, Ontario, Canada has been brutal. LMAO.IF you ever want to visit Toronto, make sure that you only come here from June to Sept.__________________House music and DJ'ing house are endlessly fascinating to me even after 30 yrs.I've loved this art form since I was 14 and started buying records at 18. I'm 51 and still buy new tracks almost monthly. Still hunt through a mountain of shet to find the few gems that MOVE me. __________________WITH EACH HOUSE MIX » First, I always create a house music mix for me. To satisfy my nerdy curiosities and to showcase new tracks that I've bought.. Second, I make mixes for my best friend and DJ partner, Jimmy. We've both LOVED house music since we were 14yrs old and met at 16yrs old.We danced all the time and DJ'ed together in every nice place and shit hole in our Beloved Toronto. If Jim tells me that he likes one of my mixes, then I"m on cloud 9 for the rest of the week.Third, anyone else like a dattrax mix, then that's gravy on top.__________________Thank you for listening to this mix. This week on the LTHM Podcast, Cantos delivers a live set recording from the HMNI Day Party at Faces in Sacramento. Recorded after Diego Valle's set from last week's episode, this mix captures the flow of a packed daytime dancefloor with deep, rhythmic house grooves and steady movement throughout day — rhythmic, fluid, and locked in. Big thanks to the HMNI crew for continuing to curate these moments and pushing the local underground forward.
Julio Caezar is back with a set that starts hot and slowly opens up. Episode 136 leans into Latin house and Afro grooves early, then eases into deeper, melodic moments as the hour unfolds. It's confident, emotional, and a little vulnerable in the best way. This one isn't just about keeping the energy up, it's about letting the music say what doesn't always come out in words. Press play, settle in, and let the gravity take over.…….Share the vibes with a friend, drop a review, kiss your dog, water your plants, pump up the volume and let's goooo! Ahead of The Stud Fundraiser party with The Carry Nation and Prosumer at Public Works, As You Like It spent a little time catching up with one of the longest running DJs in the SF nightlife scene, Steve Fabus. Steve has been on the forefront of the Disco and Underground House community since the 70s. Having seen it all and experienced all aspects of the SF nightlife, we thought we'd get a chance to ask Steve Fabus' thoughts on where the scene has been, where it's going and of course what pivotal role The Stud has to play in the San Francisco Nightlife community. https://www.ayli-sf.com/2024/02/29/ayli-podcast-104-steve-fabus/
On Saturday, December 20, DC House Grooves returned to the Underground Quality Live YouTube channel for Episode 181, a residents-only session with Andy Grant & Katrina Mir at the controls. No guest, no distractions, just the core sound, locked in and delivered the way it's meant to be heard. Resident nights are where DC House Grooves goes deepest. The session unfolded with long blends, patient sequencing, and carefully dug selections spanning underground house, techno, electro, and acid, all pressed to wax, mixed live, and guided by feel rather than formula. From the first record to the last fade, the session rewarded anyone willing to stay with it. Pure vinyl pressure, immersive visuals, and the signature DC House Grooves flow combined into a deep, uninterrupted ride. #DCHouseGrooves #HouseMusic #Techno #UndergroundHouse #VinylOnly #DetroitTechno #DeepHouse #Electro #AcidHouse #VinylDJ #LiveDJSet #UndergroundQuality #HouseAndTechno #TrueHeadstec

dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. Gearing up for Christmas? Got your presents all ready to put smiles on some loved ones? One of the most beautiful thing about house music is that... If you haven't heard a track, then it's new to you.House tracks are not tied to time and don't sound outdated because of trends. There have been so many times per month that I buy a track that sounds FRESH and it's so incredible and then I find out that it's a decade old. There is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many house tracks being made that it would be impossible to hunt down all the house music tracks ever made.____________________You can hear a familiar track, but/however, if the preceding track and the following track are interesting, then the two combinations that sandwich the track that you're familiar with gets revived/refreshed. It's a completely new experience. It's all about the combos. I dream in combos. Obsess over fav and newly bought tracks.I attempt to do this in this 1hr and a half house music mix. I hope that you enjoy it.Much love and respect.Thank you for listening to this mix. I appreciate you. You could have chosen to spend your time anywhere else you'd like. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. It's almost the end of 2025. Time is relentless isn't it?I wish pain wasn't necessary to create beautiful art, but it seems to be the key ingredient.House music has been an outlet for my negative emotions since I was 14. Whenever I do anything related to house, hunting for tracks that move me, dancing, listening or mixing house. Even talking with friends about house.__________________Ever have a terrible year full of things happening to you over and over that were negative? That were almost all the result of your poor choices? Have you ever sat down and taken inventory on the things you've gone through? I'm already writing a novel here, but/however, just want to share one observation. Hopefully this good fortune cookie can help you with a better 2026. __________________Perspective is Everything. We control the direction of the movement of our subconscious, or to put it in another way, it's our reaction to any given person or circumstance that is important, not the person or circumstance itself. If we view a situation as negative or positive, then our mind will obey that direction we give it and find ways to prove us right. __________________It's crazy that we can be in a great mood and then one piece of news makes us angry or extremely negative, or the opposite where we're in a terrible mood, then one thing happens and we're super happy. Why is that? What changed? The news or circumstance that was introduced? Or was it the negative or positive value we attached to the new info?__________________We have to learn how to reframe any situation into a perspective that is beneficial to us.__________________For Example: A joke I heard in my early 20's that really affected my outlook...There's a joke about two boys with completely different personalities. One boy was always negative, entitled and never happy. The other boy was always positive and optimistic. One Christmas, the ill-mannered boy was given a room full of wonderful presents. He proceeded to complain about each one as he opened them. A mountain of gifts and he just couldn't see any good in his situation. The other boy got a giant pile of horse shit in his room and all his possessions were removed. What did he do? He happily played in the pile of horse shit. When asked why he was so happy? He joyfully replied: “With a pile of horse shit this big, there's got to be a pony hiding in here somewhere!!!!!!!!!!”Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. This is probably the last mix that I'll be posting in a few weeks in January 2026. Thank you for listening to this mix. May God Bless You and All Who You Love Abundantly

dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. How has life been treating you?Comedy is such a beautiful art form. Just like house music and music in general.Anything that is really funny is because we know it to be true in our gut, but it's wrapped up and opened in surprising ways. You feel it. It's undeniable.Love Patrice O'Neal (RIP) and Bill Burr, followed by Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Shane Gillis, and Jimmy Carr. This is where the first group begins with the Canadian Comedians, who are Russell Peters (a fellow Canadian), Jim Carrey (Canadian), and Dana Carvey (Canadian), then the list continues with Will Ferrell and Jamie Foxx, before transitioning to the Asian Comedians: Joy Koy (fellow Asian), Jimmy O. Yang (fellow Asian), and Ronny Chieng (fellow Asian). Finishing my favs list are Robin Williams, Anthony Jeselnik, Sebastian Maniscalco, Michael Che, Steve Emerson, Mark Normand, Louis C.K., Key & Peele, Ian Bagg (Canadian), Eddie Griffin, Phil Hanley, Jay Pharoah, Katt Williams, Conan O'Brien, Ralphie May (RIP), Matt Rife, Daniel Tosh, Craig Ferguson, Bill Maher and Norm Macdonald (RIP).Unapologetic and increditble truth and story tellers. More philosophers than joke writers.Zero convincing. It's either good or it's not._________________It's the same with house music. It's undeniable. You either love it as soon as you hear it or you don't care for it.That's why it's such an emotional, physical and mental release. When we receive it and the tracks connect with us. We get goosebumps because it's so good.I think about how music and other art forms affect me and why. Why do I love certain artists? It's that ones that respect that purity in making, sharing and others receiving their art. When I'm DJ'ing in front of a crowd, there is nothing like it. I've spend 4-8hrs the week before prepping the tracks that I'd like the option of spinning. Then seeing people's reactions to each track that I LOVE that MOVE me... dropping them and seeing the reactions. The giving and receiving. When out dancing and receiving a DJ's vision of house music. What they love and how they put everything together. It's so beautiful.Thank you for listening to this mix. I appreciate you. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. How are you? Are you living the life that you envisioned?"Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There's not some trick involved with it. It's pure and it's real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and does all these incredible things."Tom PettyI hope that you are working to fulfill your goals and dreams. That you beat or ignore any voice, especially the one between your ears that seeks to be an obstacle or seeks to put you down._____________________Just wanted to say that to you before my house related rant or thoughts. House has endlessly fascinated me since I was 14. I met some friends from a high school downtown Toronto called Jarvis Collegiate through a mutual friend while I was going to one in North York called George S. Henry, which is just north of the "GTA" or the "Greater Toronto Area". They loved to listen, mix and dance to house music vinyl records. After a few records, I was hooked. This structure of four four beats with endless creative possibilities within. It was infectious. I got goosebumps. I felt something in my gut. I automatically smiled. _____________________Noel Nanton is a wonderful person who added to my musical education and fed my new love. He became a good friend and in a grade higher, grade 11..was a house fanatic, great DJ and a new producer. We used to go to his place after school and he'd played me his favourite records. He'd tell me stories that he heard about the records, the famous Chicago and NYC house DJs. The ones playing at illegal warehouse parties in downtown Toronto. _____________________A few years later, 'junk hunting' became a term we used to describe the records we were looking for. "Yeah man, hunting for any track that moves us. That instantly gives us goosebumps within seconds of the needle dropping on the record."Thank you for listening to this mix. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. How is your week going so far?Counting my blessings. It's the simple things in life that brings moments of joy and happiness.Thinking about all the good that's happened and all the wonderful people that I have crossed paths with. Some built a little friendship or at least, shared kindred times. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow House Friends to where house music resides. How is your mind life? Are you winning the daily battles against yourself? Against that negative voice that puts you down? Prop up the cheerleader in your mind. If you're not cheering for you, then who is???!!We can't comprehend how much house music has been made globally over the last 40yrs and is being created daily. It doesn't matter. Outside of hunting forever for tracks that speak to you, if you give 10 house DJs 100 tracks, you'll get 10 completely different mixes. This is the beauty of house music. One of a dozen wonderful reasons why house is unique and the purest form of personal expression. _______________________Any advice for new house music DJs?Just one, don't compromise on what you want to spin or share. Make sure that you only purchase tracks that really MOVE you. Don't compromise. The rest will come with time, practice, imagination and reflection.Thank you for listening to this mix. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers & Sisters to where house music resides. Hope all is well in your corner of the world.Have you had one of those rare days where 6-7 things go wrong and you're on your knees praying because you're so broken? I had one of those days last December. From 10am till past midnight. EVERYTHING went wrong. One after another. LMAO.If I described that day, then no one would believe it. Plus, I'd sound like I'm whining, which is not what I want to do. I only visit the past to gather insights, NOT to wallow in my negativity. We're NOT victims. We all go through negative stuff. Probably not as bad as other people, even though we don't want to compare. (Comparison is the basis of discouragement because we compare our valleys to someone's hilltops). All we can control is our reaction to the circumstances as they occur. As bad as any day, it'll have to end soon. Hold on to that.House music heals and restores. This is a 2nd attempt for this batch of beautiful vocal house tracks that I wanted to include in this mix of healing, and it's one of my most personal mixes. We don't value beauty and art without going through the dark times.I hope and pray that you get on top of your circumstances. That you forge ahead with a smile on your face and a great attitude. After wading through a valley, a hill is bound to come up on the horizon. One battle in our mind at a time. These are my Chinese fortune cookies for today.Much love and respect.Thank you for listening to this mix. I appreciate you. You could have chosen to spend your time anywhere else you'd like. Thank you. All the best to you.PS » I want to thank many great friends who have been available to listen or help in my life (especially these last 7 years of my divorce) when they didn't have to do anything. I appreciate you and I hope that I can repay your kindness one day.Thankful and Grateful (I googled the difference).dattrax---------------IMAGE CREDIT: My dear friend, Sunanda and her two wonderful children. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. How is life treating you?I hope and pray that you are doing well and moving your life forward.I don't understand how the house music tracks are constructed. Can't read music. Can't create/produce tracks. Can't sing. Well,... I can sing, but your ears will hurt, so not well.Don't know what "in key" means to apply it to DJ'ing.I love DJ'ing because it's the best form of self expression for me.A musical collage. Picking the tracks you love. Tracks that MOVE you. It's UNDENIABLE. Either you love it or don't.Highlighting the parts you love of each track.EQ'ing the way a track sounds to your preferences. (Some DJs love more bass, some love the crisp hi hats like me).Changing the speed to what you like. Some like it slow or super slow or fast or a medium danceable tempo. It's your mix, you can do WHATEVER you want. Ultimate freedom to create.Changing the energy or flow of a mix with different combinations or styles of transition. As two art forms, the differences between live DJ'ing to a crowd OR the complete control of creating a mix. It's soooooooooo much fun and endlessly fascinating to me.With each new track that I buy, I imagine what tracks from my collection would sound great mixed in.I dream of combinations

Learn why Naghmeh Panahi says "I think we have misunderstood Genesis" and "Because we are honoring women in the house churches of Iran is one of the reasons God is blessing so much." This is Part One of our remarkable interview with underground house church leader Nagmeh Panahi. Why did Naghmeh feel ashamed when she saw how God raised up women to lead the underground house churches during the revival in the land of her birth? Bruce and Naghmeh talk about this and the life changing insights from Eden that open doors for all to minister using God's good gifts. Born in Tehran in 1977, Naghmeh Abedini Panahi immigrated to the United States at the age of nine and soon converted from Islam to Christianity. In late 2001, after graduating from college, she returned to Iran to work as a businesswoman and missionary. There, she witnessed—and experienced—the oppression and violence women are subjected to every day in the Middle East. It was there that she also met her future husband, Saeed Abedini, with whom she led one of the largest house-church movements in Iran. In 2005, due to persecution, she and Saeed moved to the United States, where their two children were born. When Saeed visited Iran in 2012 to work on opening an orphanage, he was arrested for his involvement in the underground church and sentenced to eight years in a notorious prison. Naghmeh unceasingly advocated for Saeed's release, appealing to President Barack Obama, Donald Trump, the U.S. Congress, the United Nations, and nearly every major news outlet over the three and a half years that Saeed was in prison. Yet underneath the surface of her leadership in the Iranian house church, her family life in America, and the spotlight of her advocacy, Naghmeh had been an abused wife, and Saeed's imprisonment had further intensified his controlling and abusive behavior. It took the crisis and aftermath of Saeed's arrest for Naghmeh to finally recognize what had been happening to her and begin to find healing. Naghmeh's personal experience with domestic violence and the misuse of religion to reinforce abuse has given her a passion to advocate for women who are vulnerable to abuse and oppression because of religion. She is the cofounder and executive director of Tahir Alnisa (“Setting Women Free”) Foundation, which serves women and children around the world impacted by domestic abuse and religious-motivated violence. Naghmeh's autobiography, I Didn't Survive: Emerging Whole After Deception, Persecution, and Hidden Abuse (Whitaker House), was released in October 2023.Links: https://www.tahriralnisa.org/about/naghmeh-panahi/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SJr4PaZ8Mg The Tru316 Foundation (www.Tru316.com) is the home of The Eden Podcast with Bruce C. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to where house music resides. Hope all is well in your corner of the world.I"m soooooooo excited to share this mix with you!!!!This is one of my fav mixes that I've ever made. It's 73 Tracks in 2hrs and 14!!! That's about one track in every 1.8mins. What I love about this mix is that it treats each track as components to DJ/mix with. It was so much fun. I was dancing and singing my heart out. This took about three attempts with the same batch of tracks. Probably another 100 on top of what's recorded here, but this attempt was completely different than the two previous test mixes. The mixing and layering is fantastic. I probably can't reproduce this feel. Glad it's recorded. It glides through different types of house music that MOVEs me. I really hope that you enjoy this mix.I really LOVE the transitions, although I was too impatient with about 4-5 and didn't mix out the preceding tracks as well as I'd like to. It is what it is.It's the imperfections that make the groove PERFECT. Everything in its place right??I also took a few tracks and played them multiple times and because they were sandwiched between different combinations on the way in and out, it was a completely different feel each time. Never did this before. It's an interesting technique. Building an overall groove throughout the two hour mix and mini grooves with 2 to 4 track combinations.Ahh... geeking out. House music and DJ'ing it is so fascinating.Thank you so much for checking out this mix. I appreciate you. You could have chosen to spend your time anywhere else you'd like. Thank you. All the best to you.May God Bless You and All Whom You Love.Cheers,dattrax---------------COME & CHECK OUT our main site with almost 200 mixes. On Friday, September 26th, we welcomed a true Washington, DC legend to the studio for DC House Grooves 178: Keenan Orr @keenanorrdc (KEEandTEEtv). With roots deep in the capital's underground since the '90s, Keenan has lit up iconic dancefloors like Buzz at Nation, Red, Club Five and Flash, and held down residencies at Marvin, Eighteenth Street Lounge, and more. Whether blending disco's darker corners with forward-thinking techno or pushing deep house grooves with flawless precision, Keenan always brings the energy that keeps dancefloors moving. Keenan is no stranger to the international stage—his sets have landed in London, Berlin, Reykjavik, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and more, while also making waves on platforms like XM Satellite Radio, Red Bull Radio, Rinse FM, and The Lot Radio. He's earned a reputation for clean mixing, impeccable selections, and the ability to connect with dancers on a global scale. Joining resident selectors Andy Grant and Katrina Mir, DC House grooves 178 delivers a show where past, present, and future meet in the mix. Expect a deep journey across house, disco, techno, electro, and everything in between, originally broadcast live with the signature DC House Grooves touch. Lock in, turn it up, and don't miss one of DC's finest DJs doing what he does best.
This week's Friday News Roundup has everything: celebrity courtroom drama, Tesla Tunnel weirdness, and an underground bunker house straight out of a sci-fi movie. A legal battle between Blake Lively and Perez Hilton is playing out right here in Vegas — raising big questions about gossip, journalism, and free speech. Co-host Dayvid Figler is joined by artist Brent Holmes and Hey Las Vegas editor Rob Kachelriess to make sense of it all. They also dig into why the Boring Company wants to build apartments (with barely any parking!) over one of its tunnel stations, and the city's infamous Underground House is back on the market, and we've got some very bad ideas about who should buy it. City leaders were caught off guard late last week when the Department of Homeland Security listed Las Vegas as a sanctuary city for undocumented immigrants. Despite the surprise, Sheriff Kevin McMahill says it's unrelated to Metro's new agreement to cooperate with ICE. Co-host Dayvid Figler is joined by executive producer Sonja Cho Swanson and Nevada Current reporter Michael MJ Lyle to unpack the policy shift. Plus, the team discusses a new buyer facing an old HOA dispute over plans for the long-neglected Silverstone golf course and the possible public debut of the legendary Underground House. dattrax: Welcome my Fellow Brothers and Sisters to "dattrax's PROMO house music mixes'. Hope all is well in your corner of the world. I'm an old Chinaman who loves house music. I don't know shit, but I know me. What I love and don't. What I am and not. Unapologetically me. I've learned a shit ton from bad people, from great and loving people and from the mistakes that I've made. That I own 100% along the way in this journey of life. Lessons from examining my past. Let's change what we can and discard the rest. One thing at a time. One problem at a time. The battles each day are NOT with the dumb motherfuckers trying to crush you. Thinking that you are weak. Mistaken your kindness as such. They are insignificant. Ignore them. The real battle is against ourselves and in our minds and hearts. We have to be our best cheerleader. Not critic. Not judge. We mess up. Fine. Accept the responsibility and consequences. Fuck it. It's over. Next. Negative people. Don't waste any energy on them. Their struggle is on infinite loop. Feel sorry for them. Ignore their ignorant beings. Enlightenment isn't for them. We celebrate life. Restoration. Reconciliation. Love. Achievement. Health. Wealth for our loved ones and our communities. We brighten up and encourage those who we get the privilege to touch every day Let's fucking go!!! Enjoy yourself Maddafrackers. Relish and cherish every fucking moment . These are my Chinese fortune cookies for today. For YOU. Much love and respect. Thank you for checking out this mix. I appreciate you.
