I’m here to tackle it all, and with an open mind to boot. There’s no greater gift than to be accepted, loved, and celebrated for being exactly who you are
On June 16, 1944 (76 years ago, today) George Stinney Jr was executed for a crime he did not commit. At the age of 14, he became the youngest person to be executed in the United States. It took 4 minutes for the murder (I said it) to be completed. He was too small for the electric chair so he was forced to sit on top of the Bible that he was carrying to the chamber. A literal Bible booster seat. From the time of his arrest to the time of his death, he couldn’t stop asking “Why? Why would they kill me for something I didn’t do?” From start to finish, it was 83 days. His trial was only 3 hours long. The jury consisted of 10 men, all white. And it took these “men” (not in my world, assholes) a mere 10 minutes to find George “guilty, of all charges.”
Wanna talk about true crime on steroids? Here are 11 infamous murders that rocked the country. There’s something about each case that resonates with the collective fear and will probably continue to haunt us for years to come. This week, I tell a story about a double crime. First, you’ll hear about the horrifying murder of Gladys Kuehler (warning: graphic content) and the injustice of Walter E. Barton’s trials (yep, plural) as well as the shocking decision made by Missouri’s officials, COVID-19 be damned. Lots of suspicious and outright perverse behavior from the very people designated to uphold justice - or, in this case, the gross mishandling of anything closely resembling due process. My very first episode, which aired 5/7/19, has been re-released in honor of both Mother's Day and Earth to Britt! I like to think I've come a LONG way since this newbie recording sesh. I’ve learned so much since then...I’ve changed so much since then. Both as an individual and as a mother. All the mommas out there, in every form, raise a glass and celebrate your magic
Imagine this: you live in a city that has more funeral and nursing homes than anything else. There’s no downtown. There aren’t even sidewalks. One night, you get a Facebook invite to a party. OF COURSE YOU’RE GOING! What else are you gonna do? Fast forward to the morning after when you find out there were 2 guests at the party you never saw. Oh yeah, and those 2 mystery guests were dead. The whole time. Almost forgot, they were murdered! By their son. You know, the one who invited you to the party?
It’s my party and I'll do what I want! Today marks 1 year of
Just short of 3 hours, ‘Sexy Little Me’ is meant to be treated like a book: binged all at once or little bits at a time. This is the most meaningful episode I’ve ever recorded, in every aspect. It was also the most difficult. For the links promised keep reading. Confinement & quarantine - soooo different but also the only comparison we have, as non prisoners during this time of global restriction(s). The psychological effects are proven to be costly, alarming, and sometimes irreversible. I’d like to note that the reason this is a “late release” also happens to be what makes this episode better than it would have been, without his syrupy voice making an appearance 3... or 5.. or 7 times

‘Being’ instead of ‘doing.’ Creating instead of forcing. Surrendering and leaning in to what feels good instead of controlling (or being controlled). This one is simply for the love of it, whatever you’re “it” happens to be. Do it for you, because when you shine how only you can, it gives the rest of us permission to do the same. This is the story of The Casanova Killer, also known as Paul John Knowles. What’s more unsettling than a serial killer? Try this on for size: a serial killer with no victim profile who is determined to become famous for the 35 murders he claims to have committed.

Finally! I get to share with you a whole episode focusing on psychology. What are we not understanding about the factors that lead to murder or acts of crime? What is science trying to tell us? Are murderers misunderstood? What needs to change in the legal system? Can murderers be cured? What makes us kill? What happens in our brain when we kill? I cover all that and soooo much more. This one was equally fun as it was overwhelming. Keep an open mind, gorgeous, you may be surprised at what I have to share with you. It's New Year's Eve!!! 2020 is looking sexy, don't you think? Enjoy this "lighter" episode and the drinking game within that will have you feeling buzzed in no time. You're welcome, but don't drive. This week, I talk about 17 true crime incidents with the added bonus of each story being based on the experience of a celebrity. Some made it out alive, others weren’t so lucky.. it’s my wholehearted opinion that were mental health (or lack thereof) not the culprit 99% of the time, the instigators of this episode would be able to look back and recognize their fatal error(s). Until we can fully acknowledge and, in turn, correctly treat mental illness in full spectrum, nothing can change. • Follow me on Instagram & Facebook @earthtobrittpodcast & on Twitter @earthtobrittpod. 8 deaths. 7 murders. 1 suicide. Season 2 is HERE and I'm NOT messing around! I know, Christmas is still 2 weeks away but I just couldn't release this on Christmas Eve. That's too heavy, even for me. On December 25, 1929, Charles Lawson brutally murdered - as if there’s another way - his (almost) entire family before taking his own life. For the rest of the story, you'll just have to listen. It wasn’t made illegal in the US until 2000. “I’m talking about the injustice, the outrage of human trafficking, which must be called by its true name: modern slavery. It is barbaric and it is evil and it has no place in a civilized world.” - Barack Obama.
