In the latest episode of None But The Brave, co-hosts Hal Schwartz and Flynn McLean discuss the two shows that took place last week on the campus of Monmouth University that served as the opening events for the Bruce Springsteen Center For American Music. The shows were titled Music America: The Songs That Shaped Us and over two nights a group of artists including Bruce, Jon Bon Jovi, Jackson Browne, Trombone Shorty, Kenny Chesney, Darlene Love, Mavis Staples, and many more took the audience through highlights from the 250 year history of American music. At the start of the episode, Hal and Flynn talk about the sneak peak they got of the Center, which opens this weekend, and also the final show of the LOHAD Tour in Philly. Ugly American Werewolf in London: Cinderella - Night Songs

Cinderella came out of the gritty streets of Philadelphia by writing hookey riffs, shout along choruses and a fun, glammy stage show. Gene Simmons tried to get them signed but it was Jon Bon Jovi who would convince his label Mercury to get them a record contract. Led by lead singer/songwriter/lead guitarist Tom Keifer, Cinderella had hard riffs and a Sunset Strip performance style that made them perfect for MTV in the mid- to late-80s. Their debut album Night Songs landed in June of 1986 and laid the foundation for more platinum albums and MTV airplay. Keifer's raspy voice can lead big sing-a-long rockers like Shake Me or Somebody Save Me or can sing a lament like Nobody's Fool. His friend Eric Brittingham provides the steady bass and Jeff LaBar lays textures against Keifer's hard riffs and trades a few licks. On the record, drums were provided by veteran studio musician Jody Cortez, though Fred Coury was brought in just in time to make the album cover (don't get Jackson started) and joined the band. Yes, their lyrics are mostly banal and cliched sexual conquests but they were of a time and Cinderella may have done that sleazy 80s rock made famous by Motley Crue and Guns N Roses as well as anyone. Once grunge came, all that was glam or "hair metal" had to go but maybe Cinderella should have been given the opportunity to reinvent themselves like Def Leppard. We think they were unnecessary casualties of grunge and while Night Songs may not be skip-free, it's a solid hard rocking 80s album with some great riffs and fist pumping choruses. Cory usually brings the funk, but today he's got the punk with a pair of movies that warped his young mind way back in the 80s. And he's also brining along film historian and commentary track superstar Marc Edward Heuck in an episode we call CORY'S PUNK ROCK AND SHOCK TIL YOU DROP! (Or at least that's what Bob called it when he hyped it in our last episode.) Cory's first pick is LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE FABULOUS STAINS (1982--kinda), a movie most of us discovered on USA Network's glorious NIGHT FLIGHT in the mid-80s. This movie about a defiant girl punk band getting out of their shitty mill town inspired L7 and Bikini Kill to start bands, and even Jon Bon Jovi cites it as an influence. JBJ notwithstanding, our world would be a crappier place without it. Marc contributed two commentary tracks to the excellent new Fun City Editions 4K UHD and Blu-ray release so he will tell you all about the movie that Paramount could not keep down. Then, the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo capture their crazed stage show in the surreal PHANTOM ZONE (1980). And if that wasn't enough, they added Hervé Villechaize and Susan Tyrrell as the king and queen to make it even weirder. Streaming on Roku, Tubi, Plex and more. In the intro segment, Marc tells us what it's like to record commentary tracks, Bob talks about the wonders of digital broadcast with all the MeTVs there, and Cory and Philena extol the virtues of low-budget TV jingles. In this episode, we sit down with Jesse Bongiovi, Founder of Hampton Water Wine Company and Lily Pond Group, to unpack how a brand that could have been written off as “celebrity wine” — backed by his father, Jon Bon Jovi — turned into a durable growth engine that's bucking industry trends.Hampton Water is now at ~150,000 cases globally, growing ~20% year-over-year, distributed in 60+ countries, and built on a model that looks very different from how wine brands are typically scaled. During the pandemic, it became the #1 selling rosé on Wine.com, while also building one of the largest digital footprints in the category — now the most-followed alcohol brand on TikTok (~400K+ followers), according to Bongiovi — with some ~600,000 followers across platforms. But the real story is how that growth was built — and what it indicates about how wine is actually selling today.

Today on another encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to Colin Cosell, grandson of sports legend Howard Cosell. It's perfectly fitting as the baseball season just started and Colin is in full swing, pun intended. Now, if you lived in the United States in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s – you know who Howard Cosell was. The man was everywhere. Announcing Monday Night Football, Olympic boxing, pontificating on talk shows, hosting his own late night comedy show, announcing Frank Sinatra specials, doing his radio show and generally causing a stir. He not only interviewed John Lennon on Monday Night Football but he basically told the entire country that Lennon had been shot while live on television on the very same program. He's was and still is part of the cultural landscape of the last 50 years. Our chat with Colin was perhaps one of the funniest episodes we have ever done because Colin, aside from being a sports announcer himself & in game announcer for the New York Mets, is quite the comic. His impression of his grandfather is one for the ages. He not only extemporaneously handles it when we ask but he also recites some of Howard's great calls. There is much hilarity. Furthermore we get into some great memories of Colin growing up with his beloved grandfather and hear stories about meeting Michael Jordan at a Knicks game, Jon Bon Jovi while in the pool of his grandfather's house, the ubiquitous yellow Monday Night Football jacket and of course, Howard's often discussed toupee & cigars. We go quite deep on this one and there are some terrific belly laughs. This is one of our favorite Rarified Heir Podcast episodes. Take a listen.

We kick things off talking about Chaz Charles — a titan of the podcasting world who hosts an impressive stable of shows — and how Corey came to collaborate with Chaz, Wolfie, and Scott on The Elder Podcast, a show built around the legendary KISS concept album. It's a great conversation about what it means to love a piece of music enough to dig into it week after week. From there, we get into some housekeeping of our own. We walk you through our updated Patreon tiers and what each one gets you, because we want to make sure our community knows how to support the show — and what you get in return. Whether you're a Certified Geek, a TrueGeek, or a Supreme Geek, there's a tier for you at patreon.com/seangeekpodcast.We also revisit one of our favourite recent episodes — Heath McCoy's appearance on the show, where we dove deep into the history of Stampede Wrestling. It's the kind of conversation we love having, and if you missed it, it's well worth going back to listen. In a bit of a left turn, we spend some time on a genuinely fascinating real-world topic: gunshot detection technology. We talk through how systems like ShotSpotter work, how they help police identify the direction of gunfire and respond more quickly, and what the data is actually showing in neighborhoods where the technology has been deployed. It's the kind of story that sounds technical on the surface but turns out to be pretty compelling once you get into it.Oh, and Todd's theme song? We tried. We really did. We'll leave it at that. But it does lead into a great conversation about wrestling entrance music — which bands should be walking out to what themes, and which ones actually fit. Corey has opinions. Strong ones. From there we get into Bon Jovi, and specifically into Jon Bon Jovi's well-documented vocal struggles following throat surgery. It's not a pile-on — it's an honest conversation about what happens when time catches up with rock royalty, and what it means when a frontman who built a career on that voice is clearly not the same performer he once was.We also dig into the current state of concert-going — ticket prices, opening acts, and the increasingly difficult math of deciding whether a show is worth it. With Motley Crue and Creed both coming through Winnipeg, we have some thoughts on where the bar is these days and whether it's being cleared. We close out Part One with a deep dive into ZZ Top — specifically the Eliminator era, the ongoing debate about drum machines versus live drums in their recordings, and what the future might hold for a Corey-led ZZ Top season of Ultimate Catalog Clash. Plus, a quick appreciation for Billy Gibbons, who at 76 years old remains one of the coolest human beings on the planet.Part Two is coming soon, and we promise it's worth the wait.Support the show at patreon.com/seangeekpodcast. My guest on Ep. 56 of TatD is someone whose persistence and sheer tenacity in keeping her music career alive and thriving is something I deeply relate to.Zou Zou Mansour - the driving force behind Philly rock band Soraia - has seen so many changes in her over twenty years fronting the band that she knows “better than this” when it comes to being attached. And this makes the longevity of the creative core of her band all the more special. While Soraia has definitely seen its share of guitar players come and go - I even did a brief stint with the band back in 2022 on some dates opening for Joan Jett - the foundation of Zou Zou, bassist Travis Smith, and drummer Brianna Sig (herself a previous guest on this show and an OG Meddling Kid) has remained constant for a decade.. no small feat. With a long history of working with big names like Little Steven Van Zandt and Jon Bon Jovi, the band has evolved into a self-driving touring machine that shows no sign of letting up.With a brand new single called “Queens and Pharaohs” dropping this month, the band continues to churn out gritty rock 'n' roll songs with Zou Zou's lyrical vision at the center. We met up recently at the Llanerch Diner in Upper Darby, PA and talked about her musical roots, some sweet memories of her many encounters with Joan Jett, and a surprisingly in-depth discussion of how we both started out as drummers. I think you're going to enjoy this conversation. I know I did!Enjoy!JKF

Dave Stewart is a true music icon. Born in Sunderland in 1952 his first love affair was with football – dreaming of a career playing for the Black Cats, but a knee injury and his parents' divorce changed his entire outlook. Music filled a hole - despite a music teacher who described his dreams as ‘idiotic' it became his passion, inspired by his Dad's high-tech (for the 70s!) stereo system, a Robert Johnson blues album and some eye-opening teenage experimentation with acid.He signed to Elton John's record label shortly after leaving school and after several false starts he met Annie Lennox in 1976 and formed a band together called The Tourists – a pre-curser to the significantly more successful 80s project The Eurythmics .In the 45 years since then Dave has done it all – as an artist he's a Grammy winner, as a producer he's won multiple Brit Awards, as a song-writer he's won the prestigious Silver Clef award, he's won a Golden Glove for composing a song with Mick Jagger for Alfie and in 2024 he teamed up with Joss Stone to write a musical version of The Time Traveller's Wife. It's hard to put his contribution to music into context because his impact on popular music is so vast.Let me list just SOME of the artists he's produced, written for or recorded with:Paul McCartney, Bono, Aretha Franklin, Alison Moyet, Bryan Ferry, Sinead O'Connor, No Doubt, Jon Bon Jovi, Bob Geldoff, Bryan Ferry, & Stevie Nicks. In fact in 2011 he briefly formed a supergroup comprised of himself, Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and A.R. Rahman. He's one of the great innovators – in 1998 his album SlyFi became the first album to be released on the internet – it predates Google, and MySpace and Facebook wouldn't be launched for another SEVEN years. Now in his early 70s he continues to inspire – until Covid he owned and ran a creative members club in London, and through his production company Dave Stewart Entertainment he continues to push musical boundaries and work with some of the world's biggest names in music.Enjoy our chat with an icon. Live With Danny Kortchmar - Don Henley, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt Kootch tells the story of how his and Don Henley's monster hit, Dirty Laundry was born, how his and Jackson Browne's, Somebody's Baby was birthed, and how Running On Empty was recorded Live. This legendary guitar hero, songwriter, and producer, who's been integral to more hits with more iconic artists than just about anyone I can think of, shared about all of them… James (or Jamie as he calls him), Taylor, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, the aforementioned Don Henley, and Jackson Browne. Kootch talked about his first producing gig - Louise Goffin, and the killer band he put together for her, which included Steve Lukather and Kenny Aaronoff, saying he learned from observing Peter Asher, who produced so many of the albums Kootch played on. He talked about producing Jon Bon Jovi, Toto, and Billy Joel, and the controversy that surrounded that gig. We got a few of his favorite memories through the years, and his shattering heartbreak, losing Lisa Roy, the love of his life, the sad for fans, and the boys themselves, seeming end of his dream band, The Immediate Family, both leading to his leaving LA and relocating to Rhode Island to be near his blood family. We got the hows and whys with little hope of resurrection. We also got his newfound joy playing with his new band, The Back Burners, whom I can't wait to hear. The band features frontman Rocco DeRosa, Marty Ballou on bass, Vinny Pagano on drums, and Joel Latulippe on harmonica. A departure for Danny, it's groove-driven soul and blues. Playing small clubs in the thriving local music scene and preparing to record, Kootch is feeling at home with his new band and his new digs. I've been blessed to know Kootch for some years. Thanks to Steve Postell, Danny played at my book launch for Don't Jump almost a decade ago. He was a pretty serious man of few words for most of the time I knew him. Thanks to Lisa and the bliss of banding with Leland Sklar, Russ Kunkle, his fellow mates of The Section, 50 or so years in the playing, and Waddy Wachtel, whom he's gigged with for almost as long, as well as Steve Postell, with whom he's done innumerable projects in more recent years, and appearing in the Denny Tedesco award-winning documentary about them, Kootch was lighter, brighter, and happier than I'd seen him. I hope this move eases recent losses and brings creative and personal fulfillment. I also hold hope that we'll see Kootch, Lee, Russ, Waddy, and Steve reunited, someday in some way. Danny, thanks for your enormous contribution to the soundtrack of my youth. In this episode of the Power Producers Podcast, host David Carothers sits down with Dan Sachkowsky, a business growth expert and founder of Big D Coaching. Recorded on location in Florida, this raw and unfiltered conversation traces Dan's roller-coaster journey from growing up in "the hood" of New Jersey to building and selling three companies for over $30 million—and losing everything in between. They dive deep into the trap of the "hustle culture," why most businesses are unsellable because the owner is the bottleneck, and how to transition from an operator to a true CEO. Whether you run an insurance agency or a service-based business, this episode is a blueprint for scaling without burnout. Key Highlights: The Bon Jovi Moment & The Bankruptcy Dan shares his powerful origin story. At 15, seeing Jon Bon Jovi's house challenged his father's limiting beliefs about wealth. Motivated by books like Rich Dad Poor Dad, Dan started his first business at 17 and made $3.8 million by age 24. However, the 2008 crash wiped him out, leading to bankruptcy. He explains how hiring a coach at 25 was the pivot point that allowed him to rebuild even bigger. Operator vs. Owner: Escaping the Bottleneck Most business owners think working harder equals more success, but Dan argues this leads to burnout and a business that cannot exist without them. They discuss the necessity of building systems and processes that allow the business to run while the owner steps back to focus on strategy and lifestyle. Employees vs. Teams Dan emphasizes a critical mindset shift: You don't have employees; you have a team. He and David discuss why hiring the cheapest labor off Indeed is a recipe for failure. True scaling comes from building a culture where people feel valued and part of a mission, not just a line item on a P&L. The "Show, Don't Tell" Era David and Dan discuss the shifting landscape of marketing. A static website with stock photos no longer works. To win in 2026, you must build a personal brand through video and social proof. David reiterates his commitment to "showing" his work by documenting his path to $1M in new revenue, rather than just talking about theory. Generational Wealth & Mindset The duo reflects on the differences between their generation's "grind" mentality and the younger generation's approach to leverage and passive income. They discuss how modern entrepreneurs are often involved in multiple ventures, taking smaller cuts of bigger pies to mitigate risk and maximize freedom. Buffalo Bills Owner Fires…a Playoff Coach?

NFL head coaches who finish the season with lousy records generally expect there is a good chance of getting the ax. This year, nine of the 32 NFL head coaches have been terminated.  That’s 28%!    Add one more coach (Mike Tomlin) who voluntarily stepped-down in Pittsburgh after 19 seasons last week. As my old Sesame Street buddy “The Count” might say, “That’s 10!  Ten coaching vacancies this year.  Ah-ha-ha!!!” The ninth fired head coach in this year’s NFL’s “hit parade” came as a rather big surprise. Sean McDermott of the Buffalo Bills was fired on Monday after his team’s 33-30 overtime loss at Denver in the second (divisional) round of the NFL playoffs. What did Buffalo’s head coach do wrong to justify being fired? Before the season began, Sean McDermott’s Buffalo Bills were considered one of the top two AFC contenders for this year’s Super Bowl. The team finished the 2025 regular season schedule behind the surprising 14-3 New England Patriots in the AFC East.  The Bills still qualified for the NFL playoffs with a not-too-shabby 12-5 record. Buffalo traveled to Jacksonville two weeks ago for an opening round Wild Card game.  The Bills scored a dramatic touchdown in the final minute to claim a 27-24 win over the 13-4 AFC South champion Jaguars.  Then it was on to Denver last weekend to face the #1 AFC seed Broncos. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen played another outstanding game but his two interceptions and two lost fumbles gave Denver some key scoring opportunities.  The Broncos eventually prevailed 33-30 in overtime. Denver will host this week’s AFC Championship game against Buffalo’s rival, New England, at 2PM (CST) Sunday afternoon on CBS. The Buffalo Bills have now appeared in the AFC Playoffs for seven consecutive years.  In each season, Buffalo has failed to reach the Super Bowl despite having one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks operating the team’s offense. The 51-year old Sean McDermott had been the defensive coordinator in both Philadelphia and Carolina prior to accepting Buffalo’s top job in 2017. Fans in Buffalo should remember that the Bills had cycled through nine head coaches in the team’s previous 17 seasons since their last playoff appearance in 1999. Coach Sean McDermott quickly rejuvenated the Bills and led them into the playoffs in eight of his nine seasons in Buffalo. Why would Buffalo Bills team owner Terry Pegula fire a coach who led this year’s team into the second round of the playoffs? That’s what many people are trying to figure out this week.  Coach Sean McDermott’s Buffalo Bills won nearly 2/3 of its games during his nine seasons with the team. Sure, the Bills failed to make the Super Bowl.  There are 30 other NFL teams which can say the same thing in any particular year. Yes, the Bills didn’t have to face and lose another playoff game to Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes for the fourth straight time this season.  The Chiefs failed to make the playoffs but they did not fire head coach Andy Reid (yet – ha ha). Sean McDermott has been Buffalo’s only head coach for the eight year NFL career of reigning MVP quarterback Josh Allen.  Just remember that Josh Allen can only pass the football to Buffalo Bills receivers who had been selected and signed by the team’s General Manager – not the head coach. This year’s group of wide receivers in Buffalo was rather weak by NFL standards.  After wide receiver Khalil Shakir, Buffalo’s two tight ends were ranked #2 and #3 on the team in receiving yardage this season. Nothing against Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, but neither of the Buffalo tight ends possess game-breaking speed. Was it the fault of head coach Sean McDermott that Buffalo did not have a more competitive group of wide receivers on the roster for MVP quarterback Josh Allen to throw the ball to this year? Isn’t the team’s General Manager who is charged with finding and signing the talent for most NFL teams (unless you live in Dallas)? Did the Buffalo Bills fire the team’s General Manager, too? No.  In fact, 49-year old General Manager Brandon Beane was just promoted and given the upgraded title of President of Football Operations! Brandon Beane spent 19 years in Charlotte.  Beginning in 1998 as an intern, Beane worked his way up to become the team’s Assistant General Manager in 2015.  In May, 2017, he was hired by Buffalo to become the Bills’ General Manager. Ironically, head coach Sean McDermott also came to Buffalo via the Carolina Panthers.  McDermott had been hired by owner Terry Pegula four months earlier in January, 2017. Apparently, Buffalo’s team owner believed that his new head coach and new General Manager from Carolina would work well together in Buffalo. The duo led the Bills’ return into the NFL playoffs in eight of the past nine years. Buffalo has won ten or more games in seven consecutive seasons. Should the credit go to the team’s GM (Brandon Beane) and/or the team’s head coach (Sean McDermott)? Buffalo’s owner just fired a successful coach after his team lost to Denver Let that one sink in. Terry Pegula said that he became so negatively affected seeing the faces of his football team in the locker room following Saturday’s 33-30 overtime loss in Denver that he decided to fire the team’s head coach on Monday. “My decision to bring in a new coach was based on the results of our game in Denver,” said the owner on Wednesday.  “I want to take you in the locker room after that game.  I looked around.  First thing I noticed was our quarterback with his head down, crying.  I looked at all the other players.  I looked at their faces and our coaches’.” Pegula added, “I felt like we hit the proverbial playoff wall, year after year.  So, I just sensed in that locker room, like, where do we go from here with what we have?  And that was the basis for my decision.” Sean McDermott has plenty of company in the “I’ve been Fired” NFL coaches’ club A head coach in the NFL is generally considered to be the face of the franchise in the eyes of the fans and media. Even a grumpy but very successful coach like Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots kept his job as long as the post-season hardware kept coming home.  Belichick eventually agreed to step down in New England in 2023 after 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles. Likable coaches get the ax, too! Coach Tony Dungy was fired by Tampa Bay after six successful years with the Buccaneers. Much like Sean McDermott in Buffalo, Dungy took over a perpetual loser in Tampa Bay.  He quickly rebuilt the team into a playoff regular in four of his six seasons.  Tony Dungy was then fired by Tampa Bay after the 2001 season for (yes) failing to advance the team into the Super Bowl. Sound familiar? Fortunately for Tony Dungy, he was quickly hired by the Indianapolis Colts for the following season in 2002.  Dungy led the Colts into the playoffs in each of his first four seasons and then won a Super Bowl title in Year #5 with his new team. Having a future Hall-of-Fame quarterback like Peyton Manning certainly helped during Tony Dungy’s time with the Colts. Former Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott will not not remain unemployed for long. Bills owner Terry Pegula is opening his new football stadium this season and wants a fresh start Buffalo opens its shiny new $2 billion football stadium this summer just in time for the Bills’ 2026 football season. Five years ago in 2021, I wrote about Bills owner Terry Pegula.  He bought the Buffalo Bills NFL franchise in 2014 for $1.4 billion.  His bid was considered more favorable than an offer made by some guy named Donald Trump and his partner Jon Bon Jovi. Seven years after buying the Buffalo Bills, Pegula threatened to move the team south to fast-growing Austin, Texas.  He demanded the city of Buffalo, the state of New York, and season ticket holders to pony-up to build a more modern new football stadium for his NFL team. More than 54,000 Buffalo Bills fans have paid from $5,000 to $50,000 to purchase a PSL (personal seat licenses).  This PSL only grants the owner the right to purchase a Bills’ season ticket. Let’s assume that an average Buffalo PSL went for $20,000.  That would generate more than $1 billion being paid by NFL football fans living in western New York to finance the Bills’ new stadium. Buffalo is ranked #50 nationally in terms of TV market size.  It is even smaller than New Orleans at #45.  Only Green Bay plays NFL games in a smaller geographic region (#65) than Buffalo.  However, the Packers are generally considered to be #38 Milwaukee’s home football team as well. After team owner Terry Pegula’s grandstand play, the Bills have remained in Buffalo because he got his wish.  The Buffalo Bills’ new football stadium opens this summer. Terry Pegula’s firing of head coach Sean McDermott this week has created a new media buzz about his team.  It will serve to get fans to start thinking about a new future for the Buffalo Bills and help to push back those lingering “What if…?” thoughts from recent playoff losses. The team’s brand new head coach will usher-in a brand new football stadium in 2026. Did I mention that this soon-to-open outdoor football stadium will have 10,000 fewer seats than 52-year old Rich Stadium in suburban Orchard Park? That necessarily means higher prices are coming for Buffalo Bills season tickets, parking, concessions, and stadium merchandise in order to raise revenue to cover the loss of 10,000 football seats beginning this season. Look out, Jerry!  You have some competition at the top!!! Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones still retains professional football’s top spot for the title of “NFL’s biggest meddling owner”. Making a big move up the charts this week was Buffalo’s Terry Pegula.   Firing your team’s successful head coach based on the owner’s emotional “feel” of the locker room following a tough, overtime second-round playoff loss was a gutsy move, indeed. The Bills’ owner may be considered a local hero by some for keeping the NFL team in Buffalo.  But a growing number of western New Yorkers have a different viewpoint. Terry Pegula is just another greedy professional sports franchise owner who successfully coerced fans and governmental entities into financing his new (smaller) football venue at a cost of nearly $2 billion. Jones and Pegula have one other thing in common.  Neither Dallas nor Buffalo has appeared in a Super Bowl in more than 30 years.  “And the countdown continues!” The post Buffalo Bills Owner Fires…a Playoff Coach? appeared first on SwampSwamiSports.com.

To paraphrase Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour's Opening Drive is *finally* just about underway! Andy and Brendan are beyond happy to have actual golf back on the Schedule for the Week, even if this is still a Victory Wednesday episode for the Bears. It could also be a Victory Wednesday episode for the PGA Tour, as Brian Rolapp's new Returning Member Program has enabled Brooks Koepka's return at the Farmers Open in just two weeks. Andy and Brendan discuss all the details of the new pathway, open to just four LIV golfers for the next three weeks before LIV's season begins in Riyadh. The two wonder if the financial penalty of "equity coupons" and a donation to charity was enough of a punishment for Brooks, but see this move as an overwhelmingly positive for the Tour and Brian Rolapp's tenure. Things seemingly moved quickly over the weekend and Rolapp gets props from Andy and Brendan for decisively striking while the iron is hot. PJ makes a change to his major picks, awarding Brooks with a fourth PGA Championship, but Brendan is skeptical that Koepka will find himself in major shape in 2026. Brooks will not be at the Sony Open this week, but many PGA Tour stars will be to start the season. This gambling pod makes some picks for the first event of the year, riding with two big names and a podcast favorite. Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy and other European Ryder Cup heroes are in Dubai this week for a DP World Tour event as a tune-up before coming back to the states. Brendan comes in with a real winner for the Event of the Week, Tiger's 50th birthday at the Breakers in Palm Beach. Andy and Brendan toss out some musical acts that would fit the vibe before realizing that Jon Bon Jovi is already enlisted to perform. Lastly, some major LIV news came across the desk on Tuesday morning as the Ironheads and Stingers GC have re-branded! This podcast will continue using the Stingers name, but some potentially-AI press releases reveal the new country-based names of these teams. There's also some LIV hot stove news with a former U.S. Amateur winner seemingly making the jump from the PGA Tour.

Have you ever thought about meeting your own heroes and what you would actually say to them if you did? When I was growing up, I used to idolise Jon Bon Jovi. I had a huge flag of him up on my bedroom wall and would listen to every bit of music he released with his band, watch every interview that he gave and read every book I could find about him. I tried to write songs like him, grew my hair like him and even started wearing cowboy boots - just like he did. And, to date, I have seen Bon Jovi in concert on 33 different occasions. So, when the opportunity to talk to him on my podcast came up, you can probably imagine how I felt. Jon Bon Jovi is the frontman for the Grammy Award-winning band Bon Jovi. They have been together for over 40 years, have sold an incredible 130 million albums and performed in over 50 countries around the world for more than 40 million fans. In 2018, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in recognition of their longevity and impact on popular music and outside of his music career, Jon and his wife run the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to bringing about positive change and helping those in need “one SOUL at a time.” Yet, beyond the global fame, the sold-out arenas and extensive charitable work, I discovered a man who's thoughtful, grounded and genuinely curious about what it means to live well. During our incredible conversation, we discuss: The key ingredients of a happy life: gratitude, friendship, contentment, joy and love. What Jon has learned about long-term relationships – in marriage, friendship and with his band. How losing his voice and undergoing vocal surgery became a lesson in acceptance, patience and rediscovering gratitude. The real cost of success, and why he believes it's always been worth it. Why optimism has always been at the heart of Bon Jovi's music, and why the world needs it now more than ever. What fame can take from you, and how to stay grounded and authentic in the face of it. Jon's reflections on ageing, spirituality and finding peace within himself. His advice for anyone who has a dream but feels afraid to take the first step. Having this incredible opportunity to speak with Jon reminded me why his music has always resonated so deeply with me. Beneath the anthems and achievements lies a simple message – that happiness, optimism and connection are what truly make life meaningful. Perhaps Jon's story – and this conversation – will encourage you to think about what brings you joy, who brings you meaning, and how you might share a little more of yourself with the world. They say never meet your heroes - and I understand why they do. But, hand on heart, I can honestly tell you that there is a little boy inside of me, who's pretty pleased he got to meet his.
