Grain For Your Brain is a platform where I, Adwitiya, ramble on a topic that has been eating my brain. So that it can maybe feed your ever-hungry brain for a while and make you think about the things that don't really matter.
ooga booga you don't read these anyway. Enjoy. I might be uploading more podcasts very soon. This one is about the upcoming trends in digital marketing consumer market research and the fact that they disturbed even me. Someone who worked in the field. Websites are tracking your information. The great filter theory posits that possibly there is something preventing life from existing that wipes off intelligent life. We used to postulate that this was Nuclear Warheads, but the truth might be simpler and much commoner and much much scarier than that. Global Warming. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message

How did "&" which is literally the alphabetical representative of the Latin "et" became to be known as AMPERSAND? From the French, to the Saxons, to early morning classes for British toddlers, this is genuinely the cutest story that can be told about any language. The history of Ampersand. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
Being a huge fan of psychology, I took a Big Five data test and scored significantly higher on the Openness scale. I felt that that was a good thing to have unless Twilight made me reconsider and proved me wrong. This podcast was inspired by Cinema Therapy's video on the Twilight Saga so make sure to go check it out. p.s. I didn't edit Remembering Her as the background music. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
I love Makato Shinkai. But like every person who ever saw 5 centimetres per second, I hated him when the movie ended because of its morose and depressing theme. The shock of such a realistically sad film from such an unexpected source has probably made many hate the film. This podcast is in contrast in support of this great film. I believe that the film is an excellent example of how films should be. Here is my attempt to defend morose artworks through the example of 5 Centimetres per Second. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
I was planning to in this podcast so early but still here it is. I ramble on about the psychological reasons, because I have been studying psychology recently, about why we tell stories and why is it valued in a society so much. I hope you enjoy. I know that on everyone has the hobby of taking photographs but the modern world and technology has evolved so much now everybody can. Stories fascinate me. Specially the stories of origin and their trails into the present. I love stories that are lost and I love to share them in hopes of keeping them alive. Drawing a clear line from Gordon Ramsay to aristocrasy in France in 1900s... this is the story of the Michelin Stars and the tyre company behind them. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
I am absolutely terrified of exams. Seriously. So just 11 hours away from my entrance exam, I decided to share what calms me down as an examinee from the grips of anxiety of not knowing anything, i.e. the Dunning-Kruger Effect. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
Disclaimer: If you aren't able to handle existential crisis, don't listen to the podcast entirely. I warn more in detail in the podcast. Why do we get that terrible creepy feeling in our chests? Why do we feel that uncomfortable, cold fear just by hearing the PS2 disk not working sound? Why do we get scared by the ambiguous fear of tales of girls killing people 7 days later? Yeah, that's a Ring reference. What separates them from rational fears? Listen to the podcast to know more. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message

Every single time you see the tele, chances are you're listening to a laugh track recorded in the 1960s. Laugh tracks are criminally overused and are a way to get away with lazy writing, we all know that. But why do they work? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
Disclaimer: if you are religious and you feel your religious sentiments might be hurt, please don't listen to this podcast. The earliest religions on the planet have flawed Gods. All of them. Well at least if you're Indian. If you live in India and are not from the southern states, your coffee actually is not coffee but a substitute. Every single time that I cook, I quote The Hairy Bikers Asian adventure on Shojin Ryori. Meditation, what many people believe to be their key to escape the eternal suffering of reincarnation and their hall pass to enlightenment, has a bad image. People think meditation and enlightenment means to give up on the carnal desires and to be plain ol Jane. To eat simple... But the Japanese philosophy of Shojin Ryori is here to change our perception. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message

Coca-cola made a decision to redesign their bottle recently. (I guess it's better to say I came across the new design recently.) Recently, I came across a beautiful statement that triggered me into thinking about the importance of art in our lives. So, I went ahead and made a podcast about it. This is the first episode and I recorded it late at night and I am still trying to figure out the kinks so I apologize for me being raspy and trailing into the void in between. It's not perfect, but hey, we all begin somewhere don't we? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/adwitiya-dixit/message
