Listener Chuck: Episode 455, just some thoughts "J-frame good" -- that it is, though I'm pretty much stuck on the 6 round Taurus 856 now. If I have to go small, I'll run with a snub as long as I can, probably an LCR. The LCP I find to be a miserable thing to shoot. Don't like it. Specialized for when anything else is too big. In years past I picked up both a Kahr CM40 and CM9. The .40 is, surprisingly, not horrible to shoot. Handgunhero shows them as almost exactly the same size (in profile, I know they're thicker) as the LCP. —-------------------------------------------------- Listener G: Howdy, I've been a listener for a while and have participated in a few of these in the past and I really enjoy when yall do them. What follows is my list of 4 pistols (yes I followed the rules, unlike some of the hosts….). My first is a beautiful Italian race gun that I found out about from LifeSizePotato (praise be upon him). 6” 45acp Pardini GT The next two are from C&Rsenal. And I can't wait till they get fully switched to the new format and resume releasing episodes again. I currently have an Othais and Mae sized hole in my heart. Lancaster 4 barrel This one is just neat, a neat mechanism and a neat form factor. Frommer Stop in 32acp(frommer) This one is one of favorite guns of all time. Who wouldn't love a small, long recoil pistol. Calico M100 pistol. Lastly is ‘Space Balls: The gun' Honestly I want this because I love Mel Brooks movies and also because I want to have something terrible to point at whenever someone asks me what I spent my winnings on. Just for the sheer pleasure that I would get from the other person's confusion. P.S. thank yall, I really enjoy y'all's podcast. Also Mr. Beard should probably get some sleep from time to time. Springfield Armory NHS is high on my list but it may be a bit far for a day trip. Thank yall. —--------------------------------------- Listener Myles: Hi Ryan, I am glad you did this view feed back subject. So my picks for this might not be outrageous but would require me to move. 1) AMT Automag in 44 magnum. Just because. 2) a custom Magnum Research BFR with 3” barrel in 30 carbine. I cast fireball. 3) for my one none handgun the dainty little Lady's Home Companion. Nothing say stay off my lawn like 12 round of 45-70. —------------------------ Listener David: If I had unlimited money, here are the guns I would get. I have two rifles. They are kinda cheats I suppose, but I don't care. First, I would go to London and get custom fitted for a Holland & Holland double rifle in 700 Nitro Express.
Even though the Roman empire came to an end thousands of years ago, we still tell stories about the emperors who ruled during that time. From Caligula, who threatened to make his horse a senator, to Nero, who killed his own mother and set fire to the city to make room for his palace, classicist Mary Beard argues that the stories we tell about the Roman emperors might say more about us than they do about the emperors themselves. We spoke with Beard in October 2023 about her latest book, “Emperor of Rome: Ruling the Ancient Roman World,” which attempts to break down what we can actually know about the lives of the emperors and how they ruled.

Hey, fellow lushes! On this episode, we brainstorm the greatest buddy cop movie never made: a high-octane, low-memory thrill ride featuring aging cops, misplaced badges, and the occasional adult diaper mishap. It's Lethal Weapon meets Finding Dory, but with more yelling and less bladder control. We also get into a ticket-buying disaster that turns into sibling warfare, explore the wild frontier of AI-generated adult content and VR weirdness, and break down Tom Segura's Netflix sketch series Bad Thoughts —including a full-body WTF over how Netflix actually approved it. Then it's a full fanboy spiral over Harland Williams' unmatched ability to weaponize weirdness, a conspiracy-laced dig into the Beatles' possibly fake names (Ringo, we're onto you), and a no-win game of Would You Rather where you choose between mind-blowing sex with a troll or dead-fish sex with a ten—because we hate ourselves. It's unfiltered comedy, accidental wisdom, and just enough memory-loss jokes to get us gently escorted out of polite society. It's a simple plan this week: We're just looking at what was on television in late May of 1981. Including: A bizarre Happy Days musical, a horrifying Waltons episode, Mork in a bubble, skydiving Hulk, something called "Women Who Rate a 10," Bo Duke with amnesia, Daisy Duke on Enos, Batman on Fantasy Island, a Muppet on a medical drama, a dead parrot at Mel's Diner, and way too many variety shows (from Bob Hope, Steve Allen, Robert Klein, the Gatlin Brothers, and the Mandrell Sisters). It all sounds wonderful, doesn't it? You should probably cancel Netflix and invest in a time machine. The Mayor of Chickentown on The Doctor's Beard podcast! And our regular links... Our work ethic shows in everything we do, and in everything we say. We take what we do very seriously, and we give it are all without a second though because we are born with it, it is in us from birth.Being from New England and Massachusetts all of our lives my family and myself know what it is like to live and work in a region of the country known for its history and bravery, so we thought it would pay tribute to those before us by naming the company after one of the most famous battles of the revolution, and by doing so carry a theme across the product spectrum that conveyed how proud we are to represent our heritage. All of our products are handmade with all natural ingredients so we can provide a great quality product that we hope meets and surpasses the competition. Just like an army needs to be one cohesive unit acting as one force to win, so do our blends that don't have one ingredient that overpowers another but instead blend together to form a complete product that is both appealing but also long lasting. We want to offer unique blends carefully crafted by our own Mixmaster to stimulate your senses and get your beard ready for its daily battle. We do indeed want to start a revolution in the beard care arena, so the only question is will you enlist and join us in battle?Thank YouBunker Hill Beard CompanySupport the show***Please note all opinions expressed on The Three Guys Podcast do not represent any Group, Company or Organization***Episode Produced by The Three Guys ProductionsInstagram: The Three Guys Podcast (@the_three_guys_podcast_) • Instagram photos and videosTwitter: The Three Guys Podcast (@TheThreeGuysPo1) / TwitterYouTube: Three Guys Podcast - YouTubeLinkedIn the-three-guys-podcastDerek: Derek DePetrillo (@derekd0518) • Instagram photos and videosBrian: Brian Nazarian (@the_real_brian_nazarian) • Instagram photos and videosBrett: Brett J. I'm rolling back from a poker game with my buddy, need gas bad, so we pull into a station in Jersey—you know, where they still won't let you pump your own fuel. This young kid comes out. Clean cut. Smells like he gives a damn about himself. Polite, sharp, good service. I say thanks, we drive off. My buddy mutters, “Loser.” I hit the brakes—figuratively and mentally. I go, “What the fuck did you just say?” He shrugs. “He probably goes home and smokes weed, plays Xbox, lives in his mom's basement…” And I said, “Who gives a shit? The kid showed up. He worked. He contributed.” That's more than most people can say. Everyone's so fast to judge. But if you're showing up, adding value, doing your part—you're not a loser. You're in the game. Society doesn't run on titles and trust funds. It runs on everyday people doing honest work. Stop judging. Start appreciating. Because if you're adding value to this world, you're already ahead of the assholes sitting on the sidelines throwing stones.
We get to meet Brenna Beard, a farmer at heart with roots that run deep into her family farm. Brenna opens up about working with her dad, the learning curve of jumping into farming, and what it's like trying to juggle that with a career in ag retail. She's authentic, quick-witted, and not afraid to speak her truth. We chat about life outside the field too—from her love of the lake life, to how she deals with assumptions people make about her because she's a young woman in ag. Oh, and if you're wondering—yes, we get into boyfriend talk too.As someone building a presence online, Brenna also shares her take on what kind of social media messaging today's ag voices should be putting out there—and how we can stay real while still being positive for the next generation of farmers.
