'In Conversation With...' is an interview podcast where three young Irish college students talk to recognised and prolific figures within the worlds of sport, the arts, politics and more!
Capping off this season of ICW interviews is one of Ireland's most celebrated impressionists and comedians: Mario Rosenstock. Mario is most famous for his myriad of impressions of famous and renowned figures, which has led to Mario becoming famous on radio through Gift Grub; starring in his own musical play based on Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy called I, Keano and writing, producing and starring in his own RTÉ program. In this interview, we chat to Mario about the story of his career along with hearing some classic old and new impressions!

Ross Walsh from Kilkenny, better known as Welshy is an Irish DJ known for his remixes of renowned songs such as Dancing in the Moonlight, C'mon Ye Black and Tans and many more. His remixes and tunes across YouTube and Soundcloud have earned him millions of listens and gigs across the country. Now, Ross is branching out into his own music, with the release of a new single Sunshine Day. We talked to Ross about his start in mixing and the DJ scene, along with his plans for the future.

In this episode of the podcast, Colm and Gavin talk to on-the-rise music producer and artist Chris Kabs. Chris has lived in Congo and Sweden but has made Ireland his home for most of his adult life, where he's made a name for himself as a producer for Irish acts such as JYellowL and Tebi Rex. An ICW first, repeat guests!! For the first time, we have guests returning to the show, none other than our favourite Kildare duo, Tebi Rex. We welcomed the boys back on after our first meeting wayyyy back in October 2018. Since then the boys have released a successful album in 'The Young Will Eat The Old', played their own headline show in Lost Lane and were about to embark on their first trip to the US to perform at SXSW before COVID reared its ugly head. Laughs all the way through as we caught up with the guys.
The boys are back, kinda. With travel restrictions having been in place for the past three months our ability to interview has been slightly altered. In a special live episode of ICW, we chatted to Craig McHugh (Vice-President of the Dublin region of the USI), Cathal Curry (Project Manager at social enterprise, Giveback.ie), Paul Kelly (Manager of Youth Services at Focus Ireland) and Laura Horan (Community Fundraising Executive at Focus Ireland and former DCU student). The topic of conversation was the homelessness epidemic here in Ireland. The panel gave us valuable insights into their experiences in battling the crisis and in Laura's case, an insight into being homeless herself. In the first in a series of a collaborative interviews with DCU's yearly cultural festival, ANAM, celebrating music, poetry, literature, drama and film, we sat down with Shaun Dunne and Robbie Lawlor, the minds behind "Rapids" a documentary theatre piece highlighting the stigma surrounding HIV in Ireland. We also chatted with Ellie Marley, a current student in DCU, doing a PhD exploring shame in the narratives of women living with HIV in Ireland. In the interview Shaun and Robbie discuss their own personal connections to the piece and we also take a wider view at the attitude surrounding HIV in Ireland today.
