-There's been an interesting storyline in golf this year about golfers wanting more time to calm down before they go to the media tent—first with Collin Morikawa a month ago and now with Shane Lowry at The Masters-It's probably two very different spectrums of thoughts for both Sip and Bill on this, right? Would Sip want the access right afterwards to get that true emotion right after a game? And for Bill…as a coach…how much time is proper to get right mentally after a game? Is it the same or different in all sports or not?Show sponsored by MIDWEST BANKOur Sponsors:* Check out Hims: https://hims.com/EARLYBREAKAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

What a tremendous weekend of healing and watching The Masters golf tournament. The healing part - hand surgery this past Thursday. The golf part, the emotional roller coaster was so special & memorable for many reasons. I saw this post from Shane Lowry (@ShaneLowryGolf) who was not only a competitor in the tournament and he was playing well enough for times to be looking at a possible victory, but he is also great friends with the eventual champion, Rory MciIory. We all need friends like this, where Shane posted this: “The Masters is one of the greatest weeks in golf. I was so disappointed with my performance Sunday but I gave it everything and that's all I can ask for. I've never been happier to watch someone else achieve something that I want so badly myself. Rory deserves every bit of this and I was so happy to be there to watch him make history.” Remember, if you want friends like this in your life, be this type of friend for others. The world needs more of this for sure. More people encouraging & celebrating other people's success. Outstanding life lessons. Thanks for listening. The stage is set for an instant classic at Augusta: in a rematch of their 2024 U.S. Open duel at Pinehurst, Rory McIlroy takes a two-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau into Sunday at the Masters. Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme discuss Rory's monster day off the tee, Bryson's post-round iron range session, and the atmosphere expected for the impending Rory vs Bryson showdown, while journaling their way through everything that happened Saturday at Augusta National for the third round of the 2025 Masters Tournament.
Our Masters halfway point episode and there is more than a healthy dose of interest in the leaderboard as Justin Rose is still out in front with Bryson Dechambeau a shot further back, with Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry and Scottie Scheffler close at hand. Mmmm.... Nice.Andrew and Iain discuss it all and wonder about the weekend to come. Eddie was going to join to share his thoughts but he sent himself to bed in disgrace in the UAE instead, where - after his two shot penalty for missing his tee-time - he missed the cut by one. Will Doctor reviews all 95 players at Augusta en route to finalizing card for the 89th playing of the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. -Reviewing 4 futures outright tickets -Reviewing 3 picks to win any major in 2025 -Going through all 95 players in the Masters Tournament -Adding 1 outright -1 t20, 1 t30 -2 bets "to make the cut" -1 bet "to miss the cut" -4 72-hole matchups -1 first round matchup -3 round 1 three ball matchups -1 t10 after R1 including an 8.2-unit loss at the Valero Texas Open and a failed 9-1 futures ticket on the Houston Cougars in NCAA basketball. He stresses the importance of reviewing picks, especially amid a losing streak, and outlines the four Masters futures he carries from December: Scottie Scheffler (7-1), Ludwig Aberg (14-1), Sung Jae Im (50-1), and Sepp Straka (100-1), with three additional tickets on Sahith Theegala, Tom Kim, and Davis Thompson to win any major. Scottie Scheffler, coming in as the favorite at +525, is praised for consistent elite performance, including no finishes worse than 25th in six events since returning from a hand injury, and podium finishes in his last four starts. His game, including a best putting performance of the season in Houston, is peaking. Rory McIlroy is faded despite strong wins at Pebble Beach and the Players; Will cites driving accuracy issues and suggests 10-1 would be a fairer line than 7.25-1. Jon Rahm, now on the LIV circuit, enters at 16-1 with recent top-10s but inconsistent putting and chipping. Morikawa is also passed over due to final-round collapses, though Will does back him to top 10 in Round 1. Other fades include Bryson DeChambeau (20-1), Justin Thomas (25-1), and Hideki Matsuyama (35-1), due to poor putting or chipping trends. Conversely, Will is bullish on Robert MacIntyre (60-1), who has recorded three straight top-11 finishes and two strong prior Augusta showings. He places both an outright bet and a matchup on him. Victor Hovland is another targeted play, specifically in a matchup over Cam Smith, following his Valspar win and a confident outlook on his improved short game. Shane Lowry, cited for consistency and solid Augusta history, is backed for a top 20, while Russell Henley earns a top-30 ticket thanks to elevated iron play. Several key quotes add depth. Scottie Scheffler credits Texas's varied conditions for developing his shot-making adaptability. Rory McIlroy reflects on family memories and the beauty of Augusta. Morikawa defends media avoidance, which Will critiques as symptomatic of poor mental preparation. Hovland speaks optimistically about short-game improvements with coach Grant Waite, prompting confidence from Will. Aberg's comments reveal awareness of recent struggles, but he remains committed to routine. Sepp Straka remains a strong value at 100-1 with excellent iron play and driving form. He's bet to beat Sam Burns in a first-round matchup, who is faded due to declining performance. Sung Jae Im's ticket has cratered in value, and Will expresses regret on that pick. Spieth is passed over at 40-1 due to erratic iron play, despite solid chipping and putting. Other noted fades include Tommy Fleetwood, Corey Connors, Cam Smith, Patrick Cantlay, Min Woo Lee, and Brooks Koepka, each due to specific statistical weaknesses in approach, short game, or driving. Later segments analyze lower-ranked players, including positive remarks about Phil Mickelson's resurgence and Charles Schwartzel's sharp form. Will picks Mickelson to make the cut, citing recent LIV success. Keegan Bradley and Akshay Bhatia are also featured in favorable matchups. Will wraps with lineup picks for Masters.com, choosing Scheffler, Patrick Reed, Shane Lowry, Davis Thompson, and Straka. On this week's edition of the podcast we discuss a dramatic end to last week's Valspar Championship as Viktor Hovland returned to form and the winner's circle as he came from behind to snatch victory from a nervy Justin Thomas. It was also another good yet frustrating week for Shane Lowry who finished 8th to climb to a career high 12th in the world rankings.Rory McIlroy gets the last leg of his Masters preparation underway in Texas while there is lots on the agenda at the Houston Children's Open for Seamus Power and Pádraig Harrington, plus all the usual round up from around the tours and TGL finals.
Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for the Valspar Championship, plus an outright winner for the Porsche Singapore Classic. -Top 7 on odds board discussion -1 matchup -2 p2p -3 outrights (70/1, 80/1, 110/1) -Sleeper -FRP -2 lineups, scoring, best bet -Porsche Singapore outright For more on the world of golf, follow Doc on X @ drmedia59 The Valspar Championship at Copperhead Course in Innisbrook, Florida, features a competitive field of 25 of the world's top 50 golfers. The tournament is known for its demanding layout, particularly the final stretch, called the Snake Pit, which plays over par and requires precision. Last year's winner, Peter Malnati, took the title at 12 under, while past winners like Taylor Moore and Sam Burns have also thrived under similar conditions. This year's field includes major names like Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood, Xander Schauffele, Sepp Straka, Shane Lowry, Corey Conners, and Will Zalatoris, all looking to capture the title. Rory McIlroy enters the tournament fresh off a win at The Players Championship, where he staged a comeback and secured his 28th PGA Tour victory in a three-hole playoff against J.J. Spaun. Key betting insights for the Valspar Championship include outright picks, matchups, and placement bets. Among the favorites, Corey Conners stands out as a strong option for a Top 20 finish (+115, MGM), given his excellent form and consistent iron play. Lucas Glover, a five-time PGA Tour winner, is an attractive outright pick at 70-1, with a history of strong finishes at Copperhead and an improving putter. Taylor Moore, the 2023 Valspar champion, is listed at 80-1 and has found accuracy off the tee again. Ryan Gerard, another dark horse at 110-1, has shown promise in previous tournaments, particularly with his putting. A top sleeper pick is Kaito Onishi, available at 10-1 for a Top 40 finish. Onishi played at Innisbrook during his junior career and could surprise the field. The best matchup bet for this tournament is Bud Cauley over Sam Stevens (-110). Cauley has been showing steady improvement, finishing T-6 at The Players, while Stevens has been struggling with iron play and putting. Another key first-round bet is Chandler Phillips to finish in the Top 10 after Round 1 (+650, MGM). Phillips has been opening tournaments well, including a T-3 finish at last year's Valspar. Fantasy lineups for DraftKings and PGA Tour Fantasy focus on players who excel in ball striking and accuracy, including Corey Conners, Lucas Glover, Taylor Moore, Bud Cauley, Adam Schenk, and Kaito Onishi. These selections are based on recent performance trends and their suitability for the Copperhead Course. In addition to the Valspar Championship, the DP World Tour's Porsche Singapore Classic presents another betting opportunity. Rising Chinese star Ding Winyi, available at 40-1, has recorded four Top 25 finishes in ten DP World Tour starts. At just 20 years old, Winyi has already won the 2024 Asia Pacific Amateur Championship and is quickly establishing himself as a contender. The winning score prediction for the Valspar Championship is 15 under, given favorable weather conditions. The best bet for the event is Lucas Glover to finish in the Top 10 (+320, MGM), as he has a proven record of strong performances at Copperhead and is in excellent form. This preview covers all aspects of the Valspar Championship and Porsche Singapore Classic, from outright winners and sleeper picks to fantasy golf strategies and best bets for the week. Tune in next week for a preview of the Houston Open, where top players, including Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, will compete for another major title. Learn more about your ad choices. This week on Birdie Little Secrets, Kassidy and Sydney are serving up a piping hot cup of golf gossip! Sydney even joined fresh off a 13.1-mile run (talk about dedication!) to break down all the action from the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. They're raising a glass to Rory McIlroy's 27th PGA Tour victory and gushing over his adorable FaceTime with his daughter, Poppy. The girls dish on the star-studded tournament, and freak out over the fact that both Rory and Shane Lowry carded aces! Talk about bromance goals! And can we talk about how well they treated the media afterwards? So impressive! But the real treat? Kassidy and Sydney are spilling the tee with none other than, Haley Bookholdt! They chat about Haley's Birdie Little Secret, the mental game of golf, and of course, the undeniable cuteness of Nelly (Haley's four-legged bestie). Andy and Brendan went live on YouTube late Sunday night to recap Rory McIlroy's win at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, his 27th career victory on the PGA Tour. They dive into what was a quality weekend of golf on the PGA Tour, providing a much-needed boost to the product after a sleepy start to the season. The two unpack Rory's dominating performance driving the ball, including the ridiculous line he took on the 14th hole which lead him to an eagle on Sunday to practically seal his win. Andy and Brendan also compliment the CBS broadcast, which elevated the event even more than its "signature" status. They discuss what turned out to be a packed European Ryder Cup leaderboard, with strong performances from Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, and Sepp Straka. TGL superstar Tom Kim was also a factor, finishing in a tie for seventh after being put on the clock for slow play (again). In addition to Rory, Scottie Scheffler also made his first start of 2025, finishing in a tie for ninth. After wrapping up with more discussion about why venues matter on the PGA Tour, Andy and Brendan turn their attention to perhaps their favorite venue, DLF. Ollie Schniederjans won for the first time in nine years, blowing out a LIV-heavy field in India. Andy shares some intel from someone who's played DLF about the course and why Bryson was perhaps not the biggest fan of the greens there. A Lim Kim won the LPGA's Tournament of Champions, which ended right in the coverage gap for Pebble Beach, outlasting a late charge by Nelly Korda on Sunday. In golf news from the weekend, Brendan shares a letter written by Charley Hoffman that was shared with PGA Tour members on Sunday night. Hoffman is suggesting that top players need to show their support for the Tour by playing in more events, despite taking time off to play overseas or in TGL matches on Mondays and Tuesday nights. To wrap this episode up, Andy, Brendan, and PJ react to the Luka Doncic trade in an NBA-focused Sports Minute.
On this Monday Edition of Big Drive Energy the brothers start with discussing their weekend including a hot take about a weekend with no real NFL Football. Some crazy trade news from the NBA has rocked the sports world, plus Rory winning at Pebble Beach over Shane Lowry and Lucas Glover and Mulligan of the Week
In this episode of the Inside Golf Podcast, Andy passionately discusses the rapid growth and success of the Inside Sports Network community. He details a busy week encompassing diverse topics, from tennis and Oscars betting to golf matchups. The host highlights standout performances, including those of Russell Henley and Shane Lowry, and provides in-depth analysis of the upcoming Phoenix Open, focusing on player statistics, course specifics, and betting strategies. He also mentions personal best bets and insights into upcoming events while emphasizing the importance of understanding golf course play and engaging in community discussions. Travel back from the Florida swamp pushed this episode to a Friday morning recording, but Brendan and Andy are still jazzed about PJ's interaction with "Sticks Boy", which was briefly immortalized by a Noah Kahan fan account on Instagram before being deleted due to colon jokes in the comments. Aside from TGL, there's outdoor golf being played across the globe this week, and the discussion starts with the latest from DLF, complete with some on-the-ground insights. Brendan and Andy are giddy about "The Battleship" making the cut and staying to play the weekend, where he'll be chasing 36-hole leader Joaquin Niemann. There is then some lengthy discussion about Pebble Beach, where Jay Monahan and other PGA Tour executives were spitballin' with the media in a private Wednesday session. A large part of this session reportedly focused on PGA Tour broadcast issues, with the executives saying that they want to show "more consequential shots" for viewers going forward. In on-course news, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry both celebrated a hole-in-one on Thursday, leading to plenty of soundboard usage from Andy. The LPGA's Tournament of Champions is also ongoing in Orlando, and Andy and Brendan look at the list of celebrities playing in the pro-am and decide who should earn a promotion to Pebble Beach next year. Is former NBA swingman Courtney Lee really a celebrity? This is discussed at length! To wrap things up, an emailer writes in with a story about a fraudulent assistant club pro for this week's SGS Golf Advice.
On this week's edition of the podcast, a very despondent Peter gives his account of what he saw on the ground in Florida at the TGL and whether Tiger vs Rory can save the day on Monday night? Liam Nolan gave Irish men's golf something to cheer about early in the year with an excellent performance on the HotelPlanner Tour while there's plenty of meat on the bone this week with Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Leona Maguire all in action Stateside.
The Year in Review rolls on for this Friday episode! Andy and Brendan went live on YouTube Thursday afternoon to remember what the golf world looked like in late April and early May of 2024. Things start at the RBC Heritage, another Scottie Scheffler win, which Andy calls the "win of the year." At this point in the year, Nelly Korda is also winning every time she tees it up, leading to inevitable comparisons between the two stars at the top of their games. From there, Brendan takes us through the Zurich Classic, a team event buoyed by a winning tandem of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. The Zurich brings up the start of Cochran Corner and the initial reference of pod...casts (and housecats!) on PGA Tour Live. PJ jumps in to present on the next week which featured The CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig T. Nelson. LIV Bolingbrook was announced this week, leading Andy back down memory lane, and Brooks Koepka became the first player to win four LIV events as the tour played in Singapore. To finish this episode off, Brendan shares his findings from the Wells Fargo Championship, Xander the Housecat's last hurrah.

Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and Korn Ferry Tour Championship! -Top 5 favs for Dunhill -2 matchups for Dunhill -1 t10 for Dunhill -2 outrights for Dunhill -Dunhill best bet -KFT Championship outright -KFT Championship best bet Summary Alfred Dunhill Links Championship Jon Rahm (0:54 - 5:20) Jon Rahm opens at +650, fresh off a second-place finish at the Open de España. Despite his strong recent form, Will Doctor passes on Rahm due to the unpredictable nature of his game and the ongoing conflict between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. Rahm's excellent play over the past month is acknowledged, but his missed cut at this event in 2019 and distractions from the LIV-PGA dispute make him a risky pick. Rory McIlroy (5:21 - 10:30) McIlroy, priced at +700, has several near-wins this season, including a playoff loss at the BMW PGA Championship. His putting has been outstanding, but Will Doctor is concerned about potential distractions as McIlroy is paired with prominent figures in the pro-am. Despite McIlroy's stellar form and strong history at the Dunhill, Will Doctor opts to skip him this week, but favors McIlroy over Rahm. Tyrrell Hatton vs. Tommy Fleetwood (11:00 - 16:00) Hatton, priced at 11-1, has won this event twice but has struggled with slow starts this year. Will Doctor backs Hatton in a matchup against Fleetwood, whose poor putting and recent finishes (no better than 22nd) at the Dunhill raise concerns. Fleetwood's past success at the Dunhill, including multiple second-place finishes, is overshadowed by recent struggles. Shane Lowry (16:01 - 18:00) Lowry, priced at 20-1, is passed over due to his subpar putting. Despite strong ball striking, Will Doctor believes Lowry's struggles on the greens will keep him from contending this week. Robert MacIntyre vs. Shane Lowry (18:01 - 21:00) Will Doctor picks MacIntyre over Lowry in a matchup, citing MacIntyre's recent solid play, including a win at the Scottish Open and multiple top finishes. MacIntyre's consistent driving and putting make him a safer pick than Lowry. Grant Forrest (22:00 - 25:00) Forrest is Will Doctor's first outright pick, priced at 80-1. His recent form, including top-10 finishes at the Irish Open and Open de España, along with strong past performances at the Dunhill, make him a contender. Will Doctor also picks Forrest for a top-10 finish at +375. Tom McKibben (25:01 - 27:00) McKibben, at 60-1, is another outright pick. Despite recent struggles, McKibben's strong driving and iron play are highlighted as key strengths. His 10th-place finish at the BMW PGA signals a return to form, making him a value bet for this week. Best Bet: Nicholas Norgaard Over Patrick Reed (27:01 - 30:00) Norgaard is chosen over Reed at -115. Norgaard's recent win at the British Masters and strong play over the past month make him a reliable pick, while Reed's top-10 finish last week is attributed mostly to luck with putting. Korn Ferry Tour Championship John Pak (30:01 - 33:00) Pak, priced at 45-1, is Will Doctor's outright pick. Pak has shown recent improvement, finishing in the top 15 in his last two starts. Will Doctor believes Pak is well-positioned to win and secure a PGA Tour card. Isaiah Salenda (33:01 - 35:00) Salenda is Will Doctor's best bet for a top-20 finish at +320. His long drives make him well-suited for the demanding Pete Dye course, and Will Doctor expects him to rebound after a missed cut last week. Conclusion Will Doctor closes by encouraging listeners to stay tuned for more coverage and to review his Sanderson Farms Championship preview. His picks for the Alfred Dunhill Links and Korn Ferry Tour Championship offer a mix of well-researched matchups, outright winners, and best bets to guide bettors for the upcoming tournaments. What an unforgettable day of golf-watching at The Open and Andy and Brendan are giddy to talk about a day that sorted the contenders and pretenders as we head to the final round of men's major championship golf. They discuss the absolutely brutal conditions at Royal Troon that punished the final groups coming in and left the Baton Boy, the Town Crier himself, Billy Horschel sitting in the solo 54-hole lead. They discuss Scottie Scheffler's maddening day, Shane Lowry's pouty way to the finish, and the full slate of contenders and pretenders for Sunday. There's a course check-in on another day that is extracting all the traits that should be needed to win a major before they toss in a few more Games Within The Game for the final day.
Smylie Kaufman and Charlie Hulme recap day three at the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon, where Smylie is on-site broadcasting the major for NBC Sports. Saturday's conditions for the final groups, according to SK, were some of the most difficult he has seen - *ever* - for a major championship. Smylie was assigned to Justin Rose and Billy Horschel's group today, and details a round that saw the latter take the outright lead heading into Sunday. Smylie and Charlie play a guessing game using Data Golf's predictive odds ranking the five players with the best chance to hoist the Claret Jug tomorrow.
Dan Brown (-6) is your solo leader through 18 holes at Royal Troon, followed by Shane Lowry (-5) and Justin Thomas (-3). We talked through the day that was for Shane, JT, Scottie, and Spieth and not for Ludvig, Rory, Tiger, and Tommy. TC attempts to apologize for Tommy Lad before we bring KVV in from the bullpen to talk Bryson. We close out the show with a couple of segments, discuss viewing options, and more. Andy and Brendan are soaring into the weekend after watching an awesome day of golf at The Open, where the wind came up again and brutalized some of the best players in the world. They angrily shout down anyone moaning about the draw creating a disparity. Then they get into the conditions that ejected Rory, Bryson, Tiger, and many more. They outline some of the older vets on the board while praising the work of Shane Lowry and especially Justin Rose. Scottie and Rahm are given their flowers, too. There's a brief Tiger chat -- what is he at this point and how should we cover him? A fresh new slate of games within the game are set up for the weekend, bringing the golf's biggest superstar, Marcel Siem, into the fray. They close with a few thoughts on some big name cut missers.

Andy and Brendan are buzzing after a bountiful first day at the Open at Royal Troon. They begin with the first tee time of the day, which offered its own stimulant in place of coffee in the form of Todd Hamilton's electric swing. This leads to a running Hamilton facts segment, some Dan Bradbury woe, Dan Brown praise, and Ernie apologia. They also discuss Shane Lowry, JT, and some of the other leaders on what was a very tough day at Troon, especially early. There are some ample course notes about the winds and the challenge it presented with a few specific holes that rang out during the marathon watch. There is a games-within-the-game checkin, and a few new creations, and best and worst surprises from day one, which put a certain Aussie in the crosshairs. They cover the disappointing days of Rory and Bryson and assess if they are completely out of it for the weekend. Just-A-Guy gets an evaluation after, who could have guessed, an up-and-down day. They close with some thoughts on coverage and a few awards from round one.
