Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy played huge parts in winning Europe the Ryder Cup on American soil for just the fifth time under the heat of horrid abuse from the spectators at Bethpage Black. The NFL came to Dublin as the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 24-21 in an entertaining game at Croke Park.
