Indie-Rock trio Post-Party have just released their brand new song 'Lap Around The Sun', as the lead single from their upcoming second EP. Proving themselves as one of the Irish acts to watch in 2024, their debut EP “We're Not Getting Any Younger” placed No. 3 in the Official Irish Independent Chart, alongside being supported on Spotify's New Music Friday, The Indie List and Hottest New Bands playlists. The new release celebrates the importance of letting go to move forward. Fast paced and energetic, this is a song for people who like the pacey guitar lines of The Strokes, the synths of The Killers and the vocal melodies of the classic Indie Rock revival. Since forming the band, they have played venues such as the Róisín Dubh in Galway, sold out headline Dublin and Belfast shows, toured Ireland and the UK, played main-stage slots at Sea Sessions and Indiependence and supported the likes of Lovejoy, Wild Youth and Inhaler.
Happy Eurovision!

Wild Youth failed overnight in their bid to get Ireland to the final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. It's the fifth time in a row that Ireland has failed to make the grand finale. It's lead to some calls for drastic action, with some even asking whether we should go at all. Emmet Oliver was joined by John O'Brennan, political scientist at NUI Maynooth and Johnny Fallon of Carr Communications, who is also a big Eurovision fan…
Ireland missed out on a place in this year's Eurovision Grand Final. Wild Youth performed 'We Are One' as part of the first semi-final in Liverpool on Tuesday. Ireland has such high heights before but we haven't been able to get that kind of success again in such a long time. So, if we're going to keep doing this badly, is it worth entering? Andrea was joined by listeners to discuss...
It's Eurovision week and while Ireland's Wild Youth fell at the first hurdle, this week's show looks at how our young footballers are beating the odds to compete on the European stage. Academy heads Mike Geoghegan (Waterford) and Craig Sexton (Bohs) drop by to discuss funding difficulties, staff shortages and the differences between Dublin and the rest of the country. Johnny Logan is on the menu at Rascals but our own Johnny is back in the virtual house with a viral Dan to discuss Galway rising, managerial clobber and the innocence of tunnel blocking teens. All with the usual undying support of Rascals Brewery, Collar and Cuff and Future Ticketing.

Tonight is the night that Ireland's Eurovision entry – Wild Youth will battle it out against 14 other nations in the first of two Eurovision Semi-Final contests this week, with the final to be held this Thursday. Is Eurovision still cool or does anyone care anymore? We asked Radio and TV Presenter & Host of the Junior Eurovision on TG4, Louise Cantillon.
It's the first day of Eurovision semifinals. We know you've been anxious. You've been saying to your friends “Casements haven't dropped their annual Eurovision episode yet. I don't know which entries I'm allowed to like?” They're sick of hearing it. Don't worry - we're here, and we brought acclaimed Dublin musician PureGrand (a.k.a Luke Faulkner), expert in all things The Past. We discuss the best and worst of Ireland's entries past and present, the way the Brits even manage to colonise a song contest from the place they voted by referendum to leave, and write a new definition of camp to rival Susan Sontag. Tune in ASAP to find out whether it's cancellable to like Wild Youth. We also get Luke to preview some of this year's favourites. Does the return of former Swedish Eurovision winner Loreen represent a threat to Ireland's record? How has J.K. Rowling helped Ireland's chances of success at this year's tournament? And who is this year's hottest contestant? Before all that we have about ten minutes of technical difficulties and another ten minutes of actually rather interesting chat with Luke about his philosophy of music, and pop music's relationship to the past and to the future. Irish Times media columnist – and diehard Eurovision fan – Laura Slattery is heading to Liverpool this week for the annual song contest. It's hard not to feel upbeat in the face of all the positivity, giddiness and glittery glamour that comes with Eurovision but if the past several years are anything to go by, the odds are not in Ireland's favour. Our entry this year, We Are One by Wild Youth, will be doing well to make it past the the semi-finals. And to think we once ruled Eurovision! With our glory days firmly behind us, Laura teases out why our success rate is now so dire – but why it's important that we still try. And as a seasoned fan, who has actually listened to all the entries, she gives her predictions on who will win, and who should. Presented by Bernice Harrison. Produced by Suzanne Brennan. This week we celebrate the FSU's first use of the Mactaggart Programme to support Bristol University's “Women Talk Back” event. We then discuss the quite overwhelming number of transgender related cancellations that have taken place over the last seven days, from outrage at Professor Stock in Oxford to a rather predictable reaction from the Irish Eurovision band ‘Wild Youth'. There is victory for Christian employee, Maureen Martin, as her tribunal outcome brings some balance to the tension between two sets of protected characteristics: sexual orientation and religious belief. Finally, we dive into the FSU's ‘naughty lists', highlighting the UK institutions that appear most frequently in our case data.

Back in the spring, fresh off their sold-out Ireland & UK tour, I chatted with Dave of Irish pop band Wild Youth about their nostalgic new single 'Seventeen'! Over the summer, they've been busy with support slots for Lewis Capaldi and Westlife, along with an appearance at Indiependence. Their October Irish tour is on sale now and they have an imminent slot at Electric Picnic! Co-written by Conor O Donohoe & JC Stewart, and produced By Tristen Evans (The Vamps), Seventeen is the 1st single to be taken from Wild Youth's upcoming EP. ‘Seventeen' sees Wild Youth bring their signature hooky pop sound, that has brought them many hit singles including ‘Can't Move On', 'Champagne Butterflies', and ‘Making me Dance', combined with a fresh new indie pop style. Wild Youth's Conor O'Donohoe is afraid of one thing when they make a live festival music return. It's not the queue for the toilets! It's not losing the ability to carry four pints from the bar! It's not hitting a bum note! What I'm really worried about Fergal is the crowd NOT singing back the songs! It's our first chance to play our new songs to a crowd and that is so exciting but we hope they'll know the tunes! Conor tells Fergal D'Arcy all about Ireland's first music festival in SIXTEEN MONTHS. [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/06/24143520/FD-2406-conor-wild-youth.mp3"][/audio] The gig will take place at Royal Hospital Kilmainham Dublin on Saturday July 3rd. It will be the country's first music festival in almost 16 months. The event will have a capacity of 3,500 in pods. 500 free tickets have been set aside for frontline health care workers as a gesture of thanks for their hard work and dedication during the pandemic. Rapid testing will take place beforehand with social distancing at 1 metre during the concert. Denise Chaila, Sharon Shannon, Wyvern Lingo and Lyra are also set to perform with Gavin James topping the bill and The 2 Johnnies doing MC duties on the day.

"Do what you do and always try to give back" - Conor from Wild Youth has one mantra and he is determined to stick to it. It's a weird time for everyone right now and the lad's smash hit, 'Can't Move On' couldn't be more appropriate than now with everyone staying apart and staying home. So proud to be from Ireland. Lets get through this together. Then we will have loads to look forward to. Including a free wild youth gig. X — Wild Youth (@bandwildyouth) March 27, 2020 The lads haven't let the Coronavirus crisis affect their creativity levels, in between gigs for the ISPCC (a hugely important cause to Conor alongside Temple Street) they are writing music sending it to each other and putting the final touches to new music (WOOOHOOO! very exciting news) and creating new band artwork. Everyone needs to stay strong, stay indoors, just so we can get back to do all the things that we love He's also cooking more healthily and exercising more than ever to get ready to get back.
As a youth, one of my favorite songs was “Wild Youth” sung by Billy Idol when he was with Generation X. The song is typical of ignorant youth; thought I had all the answers. Christians sometimes carry on as if we have all the answers. Sure, the answer is Jesus and the problem is sin. Yes the Bible is…
As the crisis in Rojava deepens and political turmoil spreads across the world, it's critical for us to understand how we got here. Who exactly are the Kurds, and why have so many thousands of them been willing to risk their lives fighting against ISIS and to defend their autonomy? What can we learn from their struggle? In this episode, we examine the historical background to today's conflict by looking at the decades of militant Kurdish resistance that led up to the formation of the autonomous cantons of Rojava. You'll hear an audio version of CrimethInc.'s detailed 2015 essay “Understanding the Kurdish Resistance: A Historical Overview and Eyewitness Report,” which tracks the emergence of the Kurdish Worker's Party (PKK) and its conflicts with Turkish nationalism, waves of insurgency and repression, the evolution of Kurdish radical thought, the Revolutionary Patriotic Youth Movement, the Gezi Park uprising in Istanbul, the siege of Kobane, and lots more. To bring you up to date on developments since then, we also share an interview with one of the authors of the essay, in which we explore the impact of the failed 2016 coup attempt in Turkey, repression of social movements, Erdoğan's goals with the invasion, and prospects for resistance and solidarity. Stay tuned later this week for more interviews with people who've participated in the social revolution in Rojava. {October 16th, 2019} -------SHOW NOTES------ Table of Contents: Introduction {0:01} Understanding the Kurdish Resistance {4:44} The Early Days of the PKK {5:30} Öcalan's Prison Years and the Peace Process {14:27} Gezi {20:25} The Wild Youth of Kurdistan {23:43} The Revolution in Kurdistan {31:44} The Fighters {36:12} Kobanê {43:47} National Liberation from Borders {47:24} Elections and a Massacre {51:03} Interview on Turkey and Kurdish Resistance Today {59:19} Conclusion {1:09:30} This episode centers on the 2015 CrimethInc. article “Understanding the Kurdish Resistance: A Historical Overview and Eyewitness Report”. Little Miss Swinger, Wild Youth and sex myths!
This is a big one! This week we welcome onto the show one of the hottest Irish bands around at the moment, Wild Youth. Conor and Dave dropped by ahead of the bands biggest ever headline gig in the Olympia on Saturday to talk about their meteoric rise to success since they first emerged onto the scene in 2017. Among the topics of discussion with the guys was their humble beginnings in a shed in Raheny, the influence of Danny O'Donoghue and The Script on their careers as well as the small matter of selling out one of Ireland's premier music venues, the Olympia, where Conor and Dave once snuck into to watch the aforementioned Script play. The guys were brilliant craic to sit down with and have a jam-packed summer ahead of them that is only going to make their rise that much more rapid. Enjoy!
