Hot water springs are a fascinating natural phenomenon that you should definitely include in your travel plans. We don’t see them prioritized very often in trip schedules, and when people come across some of them, they’re always pleasantly surprised. Indeed, there are quite a few hot springs in India, and many are mineral rich, therapeutic and rejuvenating. But, as we delved further, we learned more from our customers as to what they were looking for – more than a mere navigation map. They seek information like offbeat locations, restaurants, hygienic restrooms, home stays and more. Well, with endless miles in our trip history and expertise of the same, we created a trip planner that solved the purpose. Today, we are (https://scoutmytrip.com/hire-a-scout) India’s first subscription-based travel planner where we offer curated experiences, Scout subscriptions (https://scoutmytrip.com/hire-a-scout) and a personalized trip for each of our customers. Our planner is powered by Scouts who are travel experts spread across India, Nepal and Bhutan.  The year 2019 saw over 3000 travelers buy our subscription plans. A majority of the subscriptions came from Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Pune – which was close to 75%. Of the remaining – Hyderabad and Chennai were leading.  It has been an incredible year of travel, and we thought of doing a little recap for our story and also sharing insights on how people are traveling.  You can also read this on our blog: 2019 - The Year That Was (https://scoutmytrip.com/blog/2019-the-year-that-was-scoutmytrip/) written by Sunaina Aiyappa. The FASTag (https://scoutmytrip.com/blog/uses-of-a-fastag) is essentially a reloadable tag that allows you to pass through toll plazas without having to stop to pay the toll charges by cash. The FASTag allows automatic deduction of the applicable toll charge from a linked prepaid account. The tag works on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. Once the tag is activated, it is attached to the windscreen of the vehicle. From thereon, you can go through toll plazas without having to stop, and the charges will be deducted automatically. It is currently functional at 420+ toll plazas across the country. Welcome to the fourth episode of the Mark and Embark Podcast by ScoutMyTrip. The host for this season is the co-founder - Vineet Rajan. In this episode we will talk about using mapping technologies like Google Maps and ScoutMyTrip for making navigation on a road trip easier and less trouble free. In this episode we talk about: Issues faced when navigating using Google Maps or other mapping technologies. Solutions to the issues faced I had mentioned that I would be adding show notes for a couple of tricks with Google Maps. These are described below. Instructions for downloading regions on Google Maps  Select the menu on the top left corner (Three lines)  Click on "Select your own map"  Pinch / Zoom to select the appropriate region and click on 'Download' For saving route on the home screen (Google Maps) Keep the route open on the screen (Don't enter navigation screen) Click on the three dots on the top right corner Select 'Add route to Home Screen' I have mentioned that Google Maps allow 8 points on a single map, this is excluding the start and end points. So considering that, it would be 10. ScoutMyTrip allows 25 points on a single map compared to 10 that Google offers. To start doing that you'll need to head to the road trip planner (http://scoutmytrip.com/) and simply enter and start and end locations. This episode looks at the recommended itinerary for Ladakh which is longish and 19 days in all starting from Delhi and ending there. With the in-house expertise of Neeraj Sinha (Yayawar) we've made this route which includes places which are off most the road trip maps of Ladakh. You can look at reducing this to 12 odd days by removing some of the places. *Links mentioned on the podcast for further reading. * List of all places in order. For complete itinerary check the route map that is shared further below.  Delhi Jammu Srinagar Kargil (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kargil) Dah and Hanu Villages (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dah_Hanu) Lamayuru (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamayuru_Monastery) Leh Turtuk (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turtuk) Hunder (Nubra Valley) Panamik Spangmik (Pangong Tso) Hanle Karzok Sarchu Keylong / Jispa Manali Delhi List of all passes in Ladakh (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mountain_passes#India) (Wikipedia). Please sort this by state and you will get all of it. Some recommended hotels Sonamarg: Hotel Tranquil Retreat Kargil: Hotel Zozila Residency Leh: Hotel Grand Dragon Manali: Hotel Orchid Greens Getting Inner Line Permits before your Ladakh Trip requires you to send across your documents to a verified travel agent in Leh who does the paper work for you. This is usually more expensive but can save you an hour or so and highly advisable if you are heading to Karzok first instead of Leh. The ScoutMyTrip help you with your ILPs, so hit us up anywhere online and we'll have you going! Since we have mentioned the route map a few times for Ladakh, here you go! But the one thing we would NEVER recommend would be fly to Leh and start running around without acclimatization - that is a recipe for disaster.
