In today's episode, we spoke with Aleks Svetski, the founder of Spirit of Satoshi, the Amber app, and Bitcoin Times. Aleks is known for being sneaky, straight to the point, and clear in his messaging. This has helped him emerge as an entrepreneur with previous ventures and knowledge in various fields. However, this also means that his persona often overshadows his success online because he doesn't shy away from calling out things he doesn't like. This led to him being known as the Bushido of Bitcoin. It didn't stop him from succeeding and coming up with new ideas to help out the ecosystem. One of these ideas was Spirit of Satoshi. A Bitcoin-centric AI, that will enable businesses and projects to grow faster and to be fed the right information. In our conversation, we covered a lot of ground. From his early Bitcoin days to him leaving his first Bitcoin company and getting back into it with AI, earlier this year.

Athletes sometimes get overly focused on the physical training variables and forget to maintain training on their mental capacity. More athletes fail at reaching their highest potential because they lacked care or understanding towards their Mindset. The number 1 piece that creates the drive for these qualities to be heightened is PASSION. Without it, the desire and pursuit for elite performance will only reach a sliver of the individuals potential. People must understand the reality of sports... If you're pursuing athletics to an elite level, expect it's going to be a long a difficult road, tons of twist and turns with ups and downs, and if your Mental toughness and Mindset are not staying up to par, it's going to be a tough road to endure. For this reason a lot of athletes can struggle with their mental health in a different way. Potentially because of failure and set backs, or high expectations and low self-confidence, even over-training and under delivering. This is why many will not make it through the whole process of the journey. The mental grind is MUCH more difficult than the physical grind, for the most part. But, like any other masters of their craft, time and effort are the components of success in a career. See the pursuit as a way of life with no rush or desire to achieve the results right now. Except its about enjoying the experience and having as much fun as possible. I guarantee you will perform better if you're happier. Muscles are more relaxed, and the mental approaches are way more patient and precise. That's what sports are all about... competing and having fun. But, as we develop and get older, the games get more serious, with higher implications towards our future opportunities to continue playing and make a career out of it. When fun becomes work though, it can start to feel like a chore and create a sense of burnout or roller coaster emotional stability. Because of this controlling our Routine and Mindset are vital for consistency and maintaining enjoyment of the athletic process. In this episode of the Your Killer Life podcast, my husband Griff joins me as we talk about the difference between being hard and being strong. Using personal examples, psychology and metabolic science we traverse the impact of trauma and the socially accepted thought processes behind recovery. We observe where the strengths and weaknesses lie in accepted practices and address personal fallout from ignoring physiological imperatives during trauma and post-traumatic events. Finally, we outline tools that have been helpful to us and goals to navigate and triumph over life-altering loss and pain.Quote:“If we focus on that hardness, being out of that pain, that crucible immediately after, whether that's through work, sex, alcohol, drugs, that that may steel us to the, the cutting through life. Audio edited in Adobe Audition. *Gear and Software links:* -------------------------- *Rode Podmic:* https://amzn.to/2XxwUgY *Tascam DR60:* https://amzn.to/3ciZU07 *Adobe Audition:* https://bit.ly/adobe-pgfb Show notes: ----------- When starting a podcast, the most important piece of gear that you'll be using is the microphone. It seems like an obvious statement, but the kind of microphone you purchase will determine the quality of sound. It's said that people will tolerate poor video over poor audio, so since podcasting is typically only audio, this is a very important part of the equation. You must be careful to choose the proper microphone type when making your purchase. Sometimes the price tag is the determining factor, so people buy a microphone and very quickly realize it's not what they thought it would be in quality and sound. The majority of podcasts are recorded using a "dynamic" microphone, as opposed to "condenser" microphone, but there are shows that utilize condenser mics. So what's the difference? There are certainly technical differences in the way the microphones are constructed and how they work, but we'll skip all of the "techy" jargon and get to the point. Dynamic microphones do not need a power source to function. You simply plug your XLR cable into the mic, and the other end into your mixer, interface or digital recorder and you're ready to roll. Dynamic microphones are used in live sound situations such as presentations, key-note speakers and live bands. They're great in-studio for recording vocals for multiple applications. The cardioid pattern of dynamic microphones, or the area of the mic head that picks up sound, and its ability to "attenuate", or minimize room noise or ambient noise makes it great for podcasts. Dynamic mics work to pick up the majority of the sound coming straight into the head of the mic. In order to turn on, condenser microphones need external power sources such as batteries or phantom power. Phantom power is the built in +48v power on some mixers, interfaces and digital recorders. If you plug in a condenser mic and it is not working, it's highly likely that it is because it lacks the phantom power to turn it on. Since condenser mics are powered, they are highly sensitive to sound coming into the front of the mic, and also any other sounds happening in the room. Condenser mics are used mostly to record vocals of one person in highly sound-treated rooms. If you were to place a condenser mic and a dynamic mic in a room with windows and dogs are barking outside, cars are passing by and the hum of the air conditioner is present, you'll hear it more through the condenser mic than you will the dynamic mic. Condenser mics are not bad mics, they simply have very specific applications. In conclusion, while there are certainly multiple applications for each type of microphone, dynamic microphones tend to be the best options for beginners looking to set up in an extra room, a garage, a closet, or some other space that isn't a sound-treated studio space.Condenser microphones will be best for solo podcasters who can afford to sound treat their recording space. *These links are affiliate links. ********************************************************** What's the difference between an XLR and a USB microphone? ********************************************************** --------------------- *Original Blog post:* --------------------- https://www.podcastgearforbeginners.com/learningcenter/whats-the-difference-between-a-usb-mic-and-an-xlr-mic This episode is recorded on a Rode PodMic into the Tascam DR60 onto an SD card. It's not so important to understand what the letters in these names mean as much how each mic functions and which one you should use for your individual scenario. Here's the breakdown: *XLR Microphones* XLR microphones utilize the "XLR" connector, which is the industry standard connection for high-quality microphones. Unlike the USB microphone, XLR mics need to be plugged into mixers, interfaces and digital recorders using an XLR male-to-female cable. XLR mics are also very portable, but sometimes the additional gear needed to record can be bulky. If you're needing a highly portable recording solution, consider Zoom's digital recorders such as the H4n or the H6 along with an XLR mic. *USB Microphones* USB microphones contain all of the necessary wiring needed to connect to a computer through the USB port and start recording right away. Most of these kinds of mics will also have a headphone jack allowing you to monitor your audio while you record. Unlike XLR microphones, you do not need a mixer, audio interface or digital recorder to get started. If you're looking for an easy "plug and play" solution for a mic, requiring as little gear and technical setup as possible, the USB microphone is for you. USB mics are very portable and work seamlessly on PC and MAC. *These links are affiliate links. What do we automatically hold true, and how to deal with unquestioned truths. Here’s a simple way you can identify them. #stoic #stoicleadershio #stoicism Dear Diary Today I was confronted with an interesting question. What assumptions have I left unquestioned? This sentence needs some deep thought. After being posed the question, I wondered what falls in that category, if anything. Assumptions? Unquestioned? Unquestioned assumptions destroy our efficiency and clarity. What do we assume to be correct? What my parents told me? The happiness of a wife, 2.3 kids, dog and cat? That we need to plan for the long term? That all publicity is good publicity? That there must be winners and losers? Says who? Why? Where’s the proof? One way to examine assumptions is to propose the opposite. Is the opposite proposition equally true? Can someone without the wife and 2.3 kids live a virtuous, happy and fulfilled life? If yes, then surely it must follow that a wife and 2.3 kids is not a pre-requisite to a virtuous, happy fulfilled life. Where does that leave the assumption? Whoa Diary, that’s an interesting way to look at it. In business, is it true that we need to plan 10 years out? Is it true we should pay people as little as possible? Has any company ever succeeded doing to opposite to what we’ve unquestionably believed? If yes, then the unquestioned assumption can't be correct. At the same time, the assumption could be right. Well, kind of. If you examine the facts deeply and the assumption holds true (the sun rises in the East), then the assumption becomes a fact. For example, if we assume you need to earn more money than you spend, and logic shows it to be so, then the assumption disappears, it becomes a fact. Dear Diary, an assumption proven to be correct becomes a fact and ceases to be an assumption. A factual assumption is an oxymoron. The difference between fact and assumption (in this context) is that the fact is tested and proven, the assumption is just accepted. Don’t be distracted with the trifling fluff of assumptions. Look at things directly, look them squarely in the eye and determine if they are assumptions, or fact. If it seems to be an assumption, prove it, otherwise dismiss it and unclutter your mind. Question everything and don’t lose perspective. Is it good or bad for a racetrack to be water-sodden the night before a big race? It depends. Does the horse love the mud, or a firm track? Most (but not all) prefer a solid track, but that doesn’t make it right. A wet track can’t be assumed to be bad. Let me be more dramatic dear Diary. Is it good or bad to have a heart attack? It depends. Over the long term it may bring the family closer together and convince your overweight kids to get healthy and live longer, more prosperous life. Yes, I am talking about finding a silver lining. But not about creating one, it’s there. There is sunshine behind every cloud. Our assumptions are either incorrect in fact or perspective. Banish your assumptions dear Diary. Original Blog article here --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/steven-di-pietro/message

Welcome to the 3rd episode of Season 2 of the Mark and Embark Podcast by ScoutMyTrip. The host for this episode is Myra Naik. A road trip is just not about arriving at the destination. Neither just about having a good time on four wheels. It is an opportunity to break free from your mundane routine. It is a chance to explore the unexplored. Those carefree days speeding on highways or dirt roads clear your head. Driving has a therapeutic effect and gives you that chance to introspect. Sometimes a road trip may not even end as you had planned. But if you can reflect back on those memories with a smile on your face and a silent tear in your eye, then it was all worth it. If nothing else, a road trip most definitely teaches you some life lessons that no form of formal education will ever teach you. In this episode Myra talks about 7 life lessons only road trips can teach you.
