Eric and Shane talk about the games they're enjoying and discuss a few recent news stories in the industry.
Coming in hot, on the tail end of a bitter-cold March, the boys are back with a guest! Cat joins the party to regale us with her most recent adventures with the proto-Pokedex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Shane, after refunding the game three times, has finally made some traction in his Tarnished quest to unlock the secrets of Elden Ring. It turns out that Eric may have been spoiled by the Forza franchise, as he continues his drive into Gran Turismo 7. The audio was a bit funky on this one, as we tried to incorporate another voice into the rich PPM tapestry.
It's the last day of FeBREWary ya'll! Eric and Shane talk about getting old, and buying houses, and maintaining them. Do you think love can bloom on a battlefield? Eric isn't sure, but he continues to diligently search for answers in MGSV: Phantom Pain. In other galactic news: No Man's Sky is perhaps one of gaming's best examples of turning a ship around after a failed launch. Speaking of galactic events, you ever see that one about the Alien's little mouth? Shane heads back to Earth and checks back into Cyberpunk after the 1.5 patch, finding a lot to love during his course of exploration. Getting further into the woods, Inscryption pique's Shane's love of card games and escape room experiences in a very SPOOKY way. Speaking of spooky, Shane parkours his way back into the Dying Light franchise - volatile zombies be damned. We also talk briefly about BeamNG:Drive as we speed home to catch the news, simulating the ending of The Simpsons' opening sequence. Oh yeah, Windjammers 2 seems like more of that game - if you like Ultimate Frisbee Tennis Streetfighter as a concept. Sorry, Dave Lang.
It's the new year, and the Pixel Boys are back from their wild ass road trip last month. What better way to start out a podcast with, than more car talk? Shane got a racing wheel and is learning to love driving all over again. In the time between honing his skills, he's also been getting off-world in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Eric is currently being broken by the Deathloop, and looks back at his time with punishing games from studios like Arkane and From Software. Are we too stupid to play games? We eventually get our boots back on terra firma just in time to talk about the spacey nature of Outer Wilds. What is up with all these time loops? Somewhere in the mix, our brains got quantum entangled and we needed to visit a shrink in Psychonauts 2. Maybe consider a second opinion there. Godfall is glossed over, Mortal Shell is mentioned as we make it home for the news.
Move over Squid Game, we're talking Octopus Decor on this episode! We escape the Cordyceps fungal zombies in The Last of Us: Remastered, by tearing ass all the way down to Mexico in Forza Horizon 5. Our South of the border hoonin' gets interrupted by a visit from Master Chief who encourages us to get our asses in gear and “finish the fight”. A pack of wild dogs interrupt our return trip down memory lane, as the Xbox turns twenty! Shane takes a detour to a small town in 1984, to briefly become a postal worker. Later, we're delivered the bad news that the video game industry has been poisoned by sexual harrassment, bigotry, crunch, and NFTs. It ain't all bad though! The VGAs happened and those were cool, right? Fingers crossed that Bezos doesn't fuck up that live action Mass Effect, FEMSHEP FOR GALACTIC OVERSEER!
Originally recorded back in August, Shane finally got his ass in gear to edit this one. The Pixels Boys discuss tornado procedure again, The Ascent, No Man's Sky, Stardew Valley on Gamepass, Activision Fuckery, and much more! We get a nice refresher on electricity, arc furnaces, and EV batteries catching on fire. Thanks for sticking with us!
Back after a spring break! Eric and Shane got together at the end of March to talk Biblical scripture, cool parents, and more hometown lore. Featured games: Valheim, Stellaris, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, Monster Hunter Rise Demo. News hits include Back4Blood and Hades.
This month, Eric survives a spider bite, we talk about the “Jiggle-factor”, and Shane is extremely over arm-chair detective Youtubers. Cockroaches in the South are called Palmetto bugs? Ghost recon is sick. Valheim is sick. Persona 5: Strikers is also maybe sick? Get on board this home-town nostalgia train, or Swamp Road Sally is gonna get yer ass. Love you all. Thanks for listening.
We’re back, baby! Coming in hot (in more ways than one) with some new audio equipment, and perspectives on life. We talk Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Dyson Sphere Program, Cyberpunk, and space booty. Working with some new tech, but audio should continue to get better as we get some more of these in the books. Thanks for tuning in, and sticking with us!
Eric and Shane scroll to the right, encountering the Switcher, Ring Fit Adventure, disgruntled coffee shop employees, and contagion ridden gaming conventions. Will this be the run? Find out in the latest installment of your favorite and definitely good - podcast boys!
Who is your Maverick? Eric and Shane talk Haunted Forests and Destiny 2 content. Modern Warfare is back with a less than historic treatment of events. Outer Worlds is the new Fallout game Shane has been waiting for. We finally got a Bloodstained patch for the Switch? Blizzard is bad at actually taking ownership for their shitty policies. The movie Mandy is the best Nicholas Cage film in years! Strap in, and don't eject into your canopy, or do? We're not here to kink shame.
How many times can you be back, in one podcast career? We get into the real discussions that the MAN doesn’t want us to have. What is gaming? We’re not sure, but we’ve got some ideas that are going to blow this puppy wide open. Not a real puppy, like an idea puppy. You know? There’s a deep dive on Destiny 2 packed in here, as Eric prepares for the next expansion. Borderlands 3 is pretty cool too, if you’re into schlooters. Yeah, I said it.
Saddle up… or be saddled? Your favorite Cyber Cowpokes are back to talk about the games they played this week. We’ve also got a bloomin’ tale of Eric’s feud with Outback Steakhouse - apparently there are rules there, and it is NOT right! Oh yeah, Minecraft has sold a ton of units, Randy Pitchford is an ass, Sony and Microsoft are partnering in ways we didn’t imagine, and kids are obsessed with lootboxes. Music by: Radioactive Sandwich
Eric and Shane talk about the games they're playing, and end with some stories about the Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4.
