Up this week on the resident mix series is Dave Lang with an epic mix for your listening pleasure... Here are few words from the man himself... I fell in love with dance music when I 1st heard The Opera House by Jack E Makossa back in 1987. From then I went on to electro and dabbled a bit in break dancing and the B-boy scene. Then moved onto the early Madchester vibe with the Hacienda being a big influence. Always had my finger into a bit DJing from the early days and now I mostly listen to the defected funky disco/ nu disco stuff... Enjoy the mix!
It's the last day of FeBREWary ya'll! Eric and Shane talk about getting old, and buying houses, and maintaining them. Do you think love can bloom on a battlefield? Eric isn't sure, but he continues to diligently search for answers in MGSV: Phantom Pain. In other galactic news: No Man's Sky is perhaps one of gaming's best examples of turning a ship around after a failed launch. Speaking of galactic events, you ever see that one about the Alien's little mouth? Shane heads back to Earth and checks back into Cyberpunk after the 1.5 patch, finding a lot to love during his course of exploration. Getting further into the woods, Inscryption pique's Shane's love of card games and escape room experiences in a very SPOOKY way. Speaking of spooky, Shane parkours his way back into the Dying Light franchise - volatile zombies be damned. We also talk briefly about BeamNG:Drive as we speed home to catch the news, simulating the ending of The Simpsons' opening sequence. Oh yeah, Windjammers 2 seems like more of that game - if you like Ultimate Frisbee Tennis Streetfighter as a concept. Sorry, Dave Lang.

I would rate this episode four John Wick 3s out of five which is pretty good as my back and hips were fighting me during the whole interview. Friend of the show Dave Lang stops by to talk managing a studio in a pandemic, how Iron Galaxy responded to employee feedback for more company outreach and lessons learned 12 years in running a game studio.

The chat with Dave Lang starts at 14:55 and ends at 1:41:40 We have special guest joining us for this episode. The illustrious Dave Lang! Dave is the founder and 'C3PO' of Iron Galaxy. He is also the host of Team GFB Radio and Ima Fix Wolves. He joins us to talk about video game and business development, travel, and hip-hop! Prior to getting into the interview, the boys review a couple things for that ass. Denzel shares his thoughts on 'Gotham by Gaslight' and 'Batman Ninja.' Chet, being the anime degenerate he is, talks about 'Uma Musume,' a show with a critically dumb premise. Imagine being impregnated by interdimensional horses and forcing your children to run in a weird ass race at a school or something. Lastly, Chet and Denzel answer a few questions from the Reddit! As a side note, the audio for the episode is a little janky. I'm sorry about that. So we had a guest and managed to not completely shit the bed. Dave Lang hung out and shared some cool insights into in Extinction and how the game came about, told a story about what might have been with Clayfighter, talked a little about microtransactions and set Tegan straight on her nonsense about sandwiches. In honor of guest this week our show notes are not farm to table. They are bespoke.
Look, if you're from the future looking for the episode with Dave Lang it's the next one. Not this one. If you're from now Lang is on next week. Rocky and Brian just needed to calm Tegan regarding the impending interview. Also Rocky murders a variety of neighborhood heroes, anime happens and Brian played old games again. The ESA is the worst and someone may have earned a comically oversized check.
Joining Liam this week to be left alone to play only 8 games for the rest of their days is a larger than life character, a living meme and a delightful studio founder. This week's Beyond is a little unusual, as Max "Roof-Rack" Scoville, Brian "The Glovebox" Altano, Andrew "Center Console" Goldfarb and Zach "Cool Skull-Shaped Gearshift Knob" Ryan talk about their mixed, but mostly positive feelings toward the much-anticipated No Man's Sky. Then, Zach and Goldie take off to make room for Iron Galaxy bigwigs Chelsea Blasko and Dave Lang, as well their newly-hired colleague Adam Boyes, who you might know from his time with Sony and Capcom. They give us a little insight into what it's like working at a larger independent studio, the balance of creativity and business that goes into game publishing, "jankiness", and Adam's really corny Twitter handle.

Dave Lang, CEO of Iron Galaxy Studios, is on the podcast this week. We cover Dave's extensive resume in the video game industry including his early work as a developer and transition from coding to management. Dave discusses the origins of Iron Galaxy Studios and the benefits of working in a supporting role in game development, developing the reputation of Iron Galaxy Studios, and Dive Kick and its reception within the Fighting Game Community. There's also talk about the "next generation" of video game consoles and something called the "Lang Zone". But I won't spoil that here. Enjoy. You can keep up with Dave on Twitter at @JosephJBroni and twitch.tv/irongalaxy @divekickgame @UncleSensei greenlightdivekick.com Run Time - 1:02:14 Send your feedback to feedback@justtalkingpodcast.com.

Only one real show of any interest this week as our old pal Dave Lang returns to town. We paid an early birthday tribute to John Prine, who comes to town later this month, and did our duty and played some classic Stan Rogers. For the most part, this show was all about the new music, and what great new music it is, including the long-awaited collaboration between NQ Arbuckle & Carolyn Mark.
