Episode #604: Xbox is having another interesting week, but the biggest story may be the bigger picture. Asha Sharma says the team is building a stronger Xbox, and when you look at Game Pass, handhelds, PC, cloud, and the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally, that strategy is starting to feel more connected. We also talk about why the Steam Deck price increase makes the ROG Xbox Ally conversation even more important. If Xbox can deliver strong value in the handheld space, it could become a major part of how people experience the ecosystem going forward.Who are the XoneBros? We are your exclusive Xbox Series X & Game Pass weekly podcast. Send us Fan MailThis week on the NickMoses05 Gaming Podcast, we break down one of the wildest weeks in gaming news. Person of Interest Eine ältere Serie über KI.

And publishers know it.In this episode, Gregory and Uly break down the digital game ownership crisis: from server shutdowns that wiped paid libraries, to Ubisoft's landmark The Crew lawsuit, to the Stop Killing Games petition that forced the EU's hand with 1.3 million signatures. They also tackle the physical vs digital debate, why game collecting is making a comeback, and whether Game Pass is a lifeline or a trap.Topics covered: digital rights management (DRM) | server shutdowns | licensing vs ownership | California AB 2426 | Stop Killing Games EU petition | physical games vs digital games | game collecting | subscription models | consumer rights in gamingVisit our Website: gzchopshoppodcast.comJoin our newsletter!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/gzchopshop. Developed by Playground Games with support from Turn 10 Studios, the game marks the franchise's largest entry yet with its expansive, stylized open-world recreation of Japan. Analytic Dreamz explores the massive map featuring Tokyo areas five times larger than previous Horizon cities, heavy verticality across mountain passes, dense urban districts, rural roads, and dynamic seasons that impact both visuals and gameplay. The segment covers the return of wristband progression from Rookie to Gold Legend, over 550 cars at launch with strong JDM representation, new customization options, and technical upgrades including 540° steering animations and advanced Triton audio. The discussion also examines record-breaking performance: over 500K Steam pre-orders, 1.19 million early access players, and concurrent peaks nearly doubling Forza Horizon 5 records. With universal acclaim, Metacritic scores in the low 90s, and day-one Game Pass availability, Forza Horizon 6 solidifies its place as a major 2026 release while preparing for its PS5 version later this year. We're back for a fun, variety-filled Monthly Stuff episode filled with our own personal obsessions. After going over some Nintendo and Xbox news, including the announcement of Star Fox for Switch 2 and a changing direction for Game Pass, Jonathan talks about recent news surrounding the One Piece anime remake by Wit Studio, before going in-depth on the Netflix live-action series after finally watching it over the last month. Sean talks about the recently-finished Journal with Witch anime (starring podcast fave Sawashiro Miyuki), and then goes deep on his continuing Resident Evil completionist adventures, with particular attention paid to finally playing the much-maligned Resident Evil 6. And finally, for The Monthly Ten, Sean is challenged to come up with 10 marketing campaign for Xbox that are even dumber than the ‘This is an Xbox' slogan. He doesn't manage to do that, because that slogan truly cannot be beaten, but he comes up with some good ones all the same. I was in Indiana visiting in-laws last week, and this led to a discussion of "third spaces", and a third space I wish was near me - a coffee and board gaming space in Greenfield, Indiana called Hitherto Coffee & Gaming Parlour. The Steam Controller went on sale the day after we went live (and sold out almost instantly) - but the trick is to get funds into your Steam Wallet beforehand so you're not hitting any payment processors. There is a new DRM check for PS4 and PS5 online purchases - but it's not as bad as everyone might think, and it might actually be a good thing for another pro-consumer policy. Xbox is dropping the price of Game Pass, with Ultimate going from $30 to $23 a month, and also removing the perk of having new Call of Duty's on the service from day one...but will people care? There is a new LEGO set for the Sega Genesis - and for once, it is a video game set that is not expensive! Then we talk to Jamie from OLR IIDX about Game Pass and third spaces.
There's no snappy title for this. My internet was a mess last week and naturally that means a lot happened in the industry. This is our catch up episode! We talk Game Pass price drop, Nintendo price increase (and how they seem to be trying to soften that blow as much as possible). We talk Saros, and StarFox. Plus, we talk RE9 now that it's settled for us and Leon Must Die Forever has been released.
We're back and we have the latest PlayStation exclusive to chat about… Saros! Jocelyn also has a grab bag of games to update us on, including Vampire Crawlers, Hades, and DLC for Two Point Museum. Over in the news, Discord ALMOST made Jocelyn a Game Pass subscriber again, the new Resident Evil movie has a trailer, Copilot is no more on Xbox, Star Fox returns on the Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo announced an upcoming price increase for Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.Discussion00:00:00 - Discord + Xbox Game Pass00:07:59 - What's Jocelyn Playing? Ben Lindbergh, Steve Ahlman, and Matt James assess their hype levels for several recently announced release dates for upcoming games and video game movies, react to the ‘Resident Evil' teaser, and share their thoughts on Microsoft's Game Pass price cut and Xbox brand rehabilitation. Then they review Sony's new PS5-exclusive rogue-like shooter ‘Saros' and compare it to its predecessor ‘Returnal.' Finally, they play Mash or Pass with four other new games: ‘Vampire Crawlers,' ‘Invincible VS,' ‘Tides of Tomorrow,' and ‘Aphelion' (plus “Rage Quit” rants about a ‘Battlefield' movie and rolling credits too early).
