Generic podcast about everyday topics we encounter throughout life
Even though it's been MONTHS between shows I never really gave up on the idea of the show. There were a lot of changes in my life over the last 4 months and it's just now that I am really feeling like getting back into laying out a show. In this instance we discuss the Quenten Tarantino film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” released in 2019 starring Leonardo DeCaprio and Brad Pitt. This film chronicles the relationship between two good friends and their Hollywood careers set against the tumultuous time that was 1969. Below you will find some of the clips I reference in the show. Also you will find the music credits and as always I want to thank the amazingly talented Mr. Kevin MacLeod for all he does to make certain that independent producers such as myself have access to quality copyright free content. Well after many, many months I finally deliver on my promise to tell you all about the Anubis Caves located somewhere in the Oklahoma Panhandle. I also give my take on The Big Race, summer reading lists and why I won't be doing any grilling this Memorial Day Weekend… Oh and of course, there the “Marvel Bonus Story” Here are the links I reference in the show. The first link is the one containing the .PDF file that is over 70 pages long, but it is filled with photos and diagrams. It's well worth your time if you find this even the least bit interesting. In this episode I just "rant" just to hear the sound of my gums flapping and tell you all some amusing antecdotes about my recent visit to the hospital and the cool new toy they let me bring home to keep forever and ever and ever. This may be the worst show I've ever turned out (but tune in anyway because ya never know...it may get worse) we'll just have to let you be the judge of that. Using some new and different, not better... just different, hardware tonight so you will certainly notice a difference in the audio quality, but it's not too horrible. So that being said, give this a listen and see how long you can take it! Music Credits... Welcome to the first show of 2021. In this episode we recap a very specific and interesting item from the last show of 2020 which was of course the Christmas show. I talk a little bit about what to expect from the show going forward and that there will be some minor format changes. I tell a little bit about what I received for Christmas, what I gave for Christmas and what all I've been binge watching over the last couple of weeks. I talk some about what I think things may be like once we've gotten the majority of the population vaccinated against Covid-19 and I wind things up telling you all why I am starting to have some misgivings about a couple of my doctors and their ability to provide adequate treatment. And then of course I try never to let you folks down by giving you a "Marvel Bonus Story" after the exit music. So sit back, give it a listen and I thank you for dropping by. Now I know what some of you are thinking, you're thinking that I said I would never get political on this show, and you'd be partially correct. What I actually said was that I would never be "Overtly" political. But this time I did delve a little into the world of politics. What did I say? How much did I rant? Well.... Listen and learn! This "Weekend Wildcard" is just a bit of a "State of the Union" one might say. I just waned to take a moment to tell you all about the show and the direction we will be going as far as scheduling and there will soon be some technology upgrades coming as it relates to equipment and mixing software. The main shows will now be released bi-weekly on Mondays. Mid-week Minis will still come at you on Wednesdays on a weekly basis. The next main show will be released October 5, followed by October 19th, etc. The show will still remain open topic and of course, listener suggestions still take preference so make sure to hit us up at Rantingsofthefatman@yahoo.com Music Credits: "Cheery Monday" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Sweeter Vermouth by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/4450-sweeter-vermouth License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Well folks this is a little longer show than I intended, it actually runs over an hour and for that I apologize. In this episode we have some of our recurring segments. We have the Parade of Idiots, This Date in History, Updates from previous episodes as well as some general housekeeping. Then we go into the mind of a man who spent over 18 years in Paris's Charles De Gault Airport and actually inspired Steven Spielberg to create a movie based up on his story. But the actual story of this man is far darker and more sinister. And, don't forget to hang around for the "Bonus Story" ala Marvel Studios technique...I love the way they do that!!!! I hope you folks enjoy the show and I can't begin to thank you enough for listening. You all are the BESTSESTESTESTESTEST!!! Royalty Free music provided by the magically gifted Kevin MacLeod (not sure if he's of the Clan MacLeod) who adds sooooooo much to the life of everyday podcasters like myself who can't afford to purchase copyrighted materials (the application for a licensing fee is like $175 by itself, not even concerning the actual song rights) So many thanks Kevin... Welcome to the first edition of our newest feature, “Mid-week Mini's,” an abbreviated single subject show featuring topics that may not always warrant a full feature episode. These shows will run in 6-8 week series, each following a defined theme. For our first series, we look back at some of the greatest TV Westerns of the past when six guns and saddles dominated the air-waves on a nightly basis. This week we look at the show Bonanza which ran from September 12, 1959 through January of 1973 consisting of 14 seasons and totaling some 431 episodes. Music Credits are as follows: Western Cowboy Ride FesliyanStudios.com ASCAP IPI 792929876, 792929974 Music in the background from https://www.fesliyanstudios.com
In this episode we have some of our recurring episodes, This Date in History, Stupid People, and we have an update on the saga of Ralph S. Mouse and how he continues to vex me in his avoidance of traps and poisons. Today's main segment is one that I think many parents across the nation can relate to and that is the problems that Distance Learning or Homeschooling may present. We examine some of the frustrations that my friends are now encountering as it pertains to educating their kiddos. We address everything from the scheduling issues that half & half schooling present and we look at a few of the various online based learning platforms that students, parents and teachers must use on a daily basis. In this special Labor Day Weekend show we work in some of the regular segments and then for today's main topic I get to kill three birds with one stone, hopefully. I address some Listener Mail and I also have a special Labor Day Segment. They always say, "Never say never," and in this case it seems as though I have relented and will do a show regarding Cryptids, aka BIgfoot and the very similar "Rock Apes of Vietnam." I always said I'd never do a Bigfoot show simply because there are just too many of them out there and I prefer to leave that to the people who devote their entire podcast to the fortean and other areas of the paranormal. But alas, I am nothing if not one to please my listeners who write in with a special request. So as always, Listener Mail takes precedence. If you want to hear a GREAT podcast centered on Bigfoot and other strange and paranormal topics I HIGHLY recommend Expanded Perspectives with Cam & Kyle (www.expandedperspectives.com) also available on ANY podcast platform. And after all of that, we close out the show with yet another amazing Bonus Story ala the Marvel Movies Bonus Scene. Well in this episode we address a mystery that has been plaguing a lot of people now for quite some time. Some of them have been trying to figure it out since 1984. It's not a murder mystery but rather the elusive origins of one specific song. No one knows who sang it, when or where or it was recorded, in fact, no one even knows the title of the song in question. But rest assured there are literally THOUSANDS of people combing the Internet day and night to find out more about this cryptic song. I'll have some info about that, as well as the song itself. And, I even found some time to work in everyone's favorite segment, "Stupid Criminal of the Week." And of course I do some housekeeping and tie up some lose ends from the previous episode. So that being said, get yourself some listening snacks and kick back for the next hour and listen to The Fatman rant!!! Alleged Lyrics to The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet: Like the wind You came here running Take the consequence of leavin' There's no space There's no tomorrow There's no sent communications [Chorus] Check it in, check it out Or the sun will never shine They're a long way away In the subways of your mind [Verse 2] Like the wind You're gonna suffer Let a smile be your companion There's no place And there's no sorrow Hear the young and restless dreaming [Chorus] Check it in, check it out Or the sun will never shine They're a long way away In the subways of your mind [Instrumental Bridge] [Chorus] Check it in, check it out Or the sun will never shine They're a long way away In the subways of your mind [Outro] Check it in, check it out It's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out It's the real excuse Check it in, check it out It's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out It's the real excuse Check it in, check it out It's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out It's the real excuse Check it in, check it out It's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out It's the real excuse David Browne's Rolling Stone Article https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/most-mysterious-song-on-the-internet-885106/ The Most Mysterios Song Youtube: https://youtu.be/zPGf4liO-KQ Justin Whang Video #1 https://youtu.be/90JvgNQicp0 Justin Whang Video #2 https://youtu.be/b-55pGtFL_o Justin Whang Video #3 https://youtu.be/i1DP0lsY-0E Justin Whang Video # 4 https://youtu.be/YnZCrX1hF1s Music Credits: Thanks again to the wonderfully talented Kevin MacLeod for providing us some enjoyable royalty free music! Thank you for stopping by. In this episode I'll be departing from the normal show format for an abbreviated episode that focuses primarily upon myself and a recent phenomena I've been encountering over the last few days. I'm going to talk about an instance of what they call "Musical Ear Syndrome." I'm going to tell you right now that it has nothing to do with innate musical ability. In all actuality, it's kind of an alarming experience but fortunately with the aid of the internet and simply refusing to believe that I was going insane I was able to find out the cause and effect of this little known syndrome. I've included some links below if you'd like to read more about this. Perhaps you've encountered this yourself but were reluctant to tell anyone because you were afraid they would think your sanity was in question. I can certainly assure you that was the case with myself. So give the show a listen, I do apologize for the sniffles but allergies were in the EXTREME category today for our region so there was no avoiding them, but hopefully it's not too bad. Mouse of "Runaway Ralph" and "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" fame. We also talk about truck eating sharks in Enid, Oklahoma and the lack of Pre-Colombian history education in schools. We even talk a little about music and a lot about history. And if history isn't your thing, well we even talk about movies and their sequels, again. So click on in and give this one a listen. I hope you take the time to give this episode a listen and I hope you'll subscribe and come back each time a new episode is released.
Welcome to the first episode. I know I was a day late in getting this out but I was feeling under the weather yesterday. That being said I wanted to give you all an "Allergy Warning" in that you will be able to tell that I'm a little congested. In this episode we have a couple stories about stupid criminals and tales of a weird occurrence in Nebraska that sounds like something from a Breaking Bad episode. I also take some time to answer some listener E-mail and then I end the show with a piece on Forrest Fenn's Treasure. Welcome to what I hope will be something that you come to value and enjoy. This is my first endeavor at Podcasting so I'm certain that there will be some glitches and stumbles along the way but hopefully I can get those ironed out as the show progresses. As I say in the intro piece, this podcast will be extremely varied and will not be devoted to one specific niche or genre as so many others are. The great thing about that is that you'll never really know what to expect whenever you tune in. The show's inaugural episode is slated for July 6, 2020 so I hope that you'll check back and see what we have to say. MUSIC CREDITS...
