How to Use Social Proof on LinkedIn to Generate Sales Leads: Do you use LinkedIn's recommendations to differentiate yourself from your competition? You should. Watch the video below to find out how. Video Transcription: Hello it's Chris Hamilton here with Sales tip a day, www.SalesTipADay.Com and today I'm going to show you how to use social proof on Linkedin. You can learn how to beat your competition by using LinkedIn recommendations. Before we get started I'd like you to access a 14 part LinkedIn little known tips and tricks course, it'll give you lots of tips and tricks on using Linkedin for sales, and prospecting and how to land more clients. It's a $199 value but you can get it for free, and here's how you get it. Go to bit.ly/28and14 or you can text "LinkedIn14" to 44222 in the US or "LinkedIn14" that's LinkedIn one four, to 1 855 969 5300 in Canada. So let's get started. One of the things you want to take a look at with social proof is: 92% of customers trust referrals from people that they know 71% of consumers are more likely to make a purchase based on social media referrals 81% of US online consumers purchase decisions are influenced by friends and social media posts 74% of consumers identify word of mouth as a key influencer in their purchasing decisions Referral marketing generates three to five times higher conversion rates than any other channel Basically, social proof is something that will help you sell your product or service and we're gonna show you how to do this through Linkedin. Now, on Linkedin there's a section, it's a recommendations section and relatively easy to use, I'm going to give you a secret when it comes to getting recommendations that no one else will probably give you, so, what you want to do is you want to click on the receive section and then what you're going to get, you're going to be asked to get recommended. When you click on this it's going to bring up a section, it's asking for recommendations. What you do in here, think about who you want to ask for a recommendation. You put their name in, it'll start popping up and you can click on that. Now, when you do that, you want to put in kind of that relationship that you have will them. It's going to be, "I worked for John, John worked for me" Whatever it is, then what you want to do is also select your position. Linkedin will have looked into the positions that you've had in your profile and pull them up as well so this is where you get that. Now, then you get to the screen where it says, "Ask John to recommend you, include a personalized message with your request" They've prefilled it, it usually comes with, "Hi John, can you write me a recommendation" here's where people fall down on this stuff. If you just send this out, someone's gonna look at it and go you know what? Yeah I'll get to it when I get to it, they'll never get around to it. So here's the secret to getting recommendations. Write your own recommendation. So what you can put in here is something like, "Hi John, can you write me a recommendation, are you willing to give me a recommendation, I've written one based on our relationship when I was working at this company, here's what it is, feel free to wordsmith it any way that you want" What you do is you hit send, that will go to John or whoever you're sending it to, they can either grab it, paste it and put it into the recommendations so in essence, what you've done is you've dumbed it right down for them so that they really don't have to put a lot of effort into writing a recommendation. So, here's some tips that I've got on getting recommendations. So first of all, your recommendation should improve some positives for potential clients. Once again, if clients are coming and they're looking at your recommendations, make sure that you got some very positive aspects, especially towards your target demographic or market that you're going after. If you can get facts and figures, put them in. So for example, Chris helped us reduce turnover in our company by 47%, Chris increased sales by 17% quarter over quarter by doing his magic or whatever it is, make sure you use facts and figures. Let the other person know that you'd be happy to write a recommendation for them and follow up if you don't get a recommendation, so for example with the one that I sent to John, if I don't get it, I can send him a quick message to say, "Hey, I sent you a request for a recommendation on Linkedin, was hoping that you could actually follow through and do that for me if you don't mind"Then what happens is you'll get that recommendation. So, once again, we're back to the 14 part Linkedin little known sales tips and tricks course. If you want to access this course go to bit.ly/28and14 so that's two eight and one four. You can text "Linkedin14" Linkedin one four to 44222 in the United States or "Linkedin14" to 1 855 969 5300 in Canada, once again it's literally a $200 value course that you could get for free, lots of great tips and tricks in here on how to use Linkedin to generate sales leads. If you need to reach out to me, feel free to, Chris@SalesTipADay.com. Phone number is 403-630-1243, and as always go to www.SalesTipADay.Com for great tips and tricks on Linkedin and sales and marketing.
A Secret To Generating Sales Leads On LinkedIn That Few Know About: Transcription: Hi there. It's Chris Hamilton here with Sales Tip A Day, www.salestipaday.com, and I'm going to let you in on a secret on generating sales leads on LinkedIn that I've started using and seen great success from. It's a great way to generate sales leads, and I'll tell you what. Looking on LinkedIn, I know there's a lot of people that don't use this, so I'll tell you what. If you're a solopreneur or a small entrepreneur or whatever, you know what? This is a fantastic way to generate sales leads for your business. Before I get into that, I just want to let you know you can access a 14-part LinkedIn sales prospecting course that I have. You can go to bit.ly/28and14, or you could text LinkedIn14 to 44222 in the US or LinkedIn14 to 1-855-969-5300 in Canada. They'll ask you for your e-mail address. Just put it in, and you'll get on the list. Then, basically, you'll get a new course everyday for 14, or a new part of the course everyday for 14 days. Basically, this has about 199-dollar value, and you're going to get it for free. Do you want to learn a great way to generate sales leads from LinkedIn? Here's one of the best ways to do it. I create content on a consistent basis one to two times a week. Then, I post these stuff up on LinkedIn. What I found is when I put links in driving people to my website or landing pages on my website, it gets people to sign up. In this case, I've got people trying to go to my website, salestipaday.com for LinkedIn Tips and Tricks. When they go there and it's the first time they've ever been there clicking that link, they go to something called a welcome gate. Now, I use a landing page service called Leadpages, and you can create these welcome gates. What the welcome gate does is it allows you to put some content up before people access your website, so in this case, I'm going to offer daily sales and marketing tips and tricks. I've got there, it says, "Send me the tips." The other box says, "No, thanks. Take me directly to Sales Tip A Day." If they hit send me the tips, they give me their name and e-mail. When they hit submit, it takes them through the Sales Tip A Day or it gives them the option to go through it. Basically, I get a 25, 26% of the people that hit this page actually giving me their name and e-mail, so that's one way that you can do that stuff and generate leads through LinkedIn. Another way is just as you saw, I've got this 14-part tips and tricks course. When I'm putting stuff up on LinkedIn, some of the times, I'll put this link in, the bit.ly/28and14. Down here, you can see though LinkedIn has changed it to their own URL, but that's okay. It still takes people through to that page. If I'm creating content that's based around that, first of all, if they're watching the video, they see the information there. Secondly, it's in the description, so there's a couple of different places where people can actually end up doing that. When they click on that, it takes them through to this page. Basically now, they can access this, get instant access. Click that button. Give me your contact information, and I'll start sending you the course that you want to see. Now, the other thing too is because I use Leadpages to build these landing pages out, you can go to leadpages.net to find that. They also have another option called a lead digit, so what you saw was text at LinkedIn14 to 44222 and also the 1-800 number in Canada. You can set up specific unique text identifiers and connect them through to your e-mail marketing software so that when people text and put their name or put their e-mail in, then basically, they can go on your e-mail list. It's fantastic, and it works really well as well. Then, when someone actually does sign up through the Leaddigits, I just get a notification telling me that they've actually signed up on my course. Here's the steps through this thing. First of all, you want to create a presentation with a lead generation slide, so I've done that right here. You see that at the front part or the side, I've reiterated a couple of times, and you're going to see it again coming up here as well, but create it with something to give away a value that your clients would like to see. Now, as I say, what you want to do is you want to create a landing page. I use Leadpages. Another one I use is Thrive Themes. There's also ClickFunnels. There's a few. There's a few different landing page softwares out there, but this one was super simple to hit. I'll tell you what. When people hit this page, I get a sign up rate of about 45 to 50% of the people that hit this page click, get instant access on this one because it's very laser-focused and targeted to what they want. There's a huge signup rate on that. Think about this. For every 100 people that hit my sign up, I get about 45 to 50 names that hit this page, very successful on this one. Now, what I do with the third step is you want to connect your e-mail marketing service. With the landing page, to get instant access, the thing that you need to do is you need to connect that through to an e-mail marketing system. I use Aweber. I also use MailChimp, but I also, on the right hand side, you see ActiveCampaign, so when people click that instant access, it takes them into a marketing funnel, which then drips one part of the course every day ovevr 14 days. It captures your name and e-mail and all that information as well. It sounds a little technical, but I'll tell you what. When you get into ... If you got into Leadpages, there is a cost for it, but it's well worth it because you'll make money off of it. They have a bunch of tutorials in there on how to do these stuff. It's really not that tough actually. The other thing too is, once again, if you're using Leadpages, you can use these Leaddigits and connect your e-mail service through on this one as well, very straightforward on that one. Now, last step here is because I create videos, what I do is I click the video, but you can write an article or add images, but I click this video, and then what happens is, it allows me to upload the video. Then, when I upload the video, what I do is in the description, I give a very high-level description on this one, but once again, I put a link through to access my little Know and tips and tricks course or whatever the content or whatever that link may be based on the content that I'm showing. Then, once again, it also shows up in the videos. There's a couple of different ways that people can see this. One of the things I really like about being able to do this too is I get to see how many people have viewed my video. I get to see how many people have come from different companies, what kind of roles they have, where they live, which part of the network? Are they my first level, second level, network and stuff like that. All interesting stuff, and quite interesting on this case is I get 1,329 views. On my website, I may only get two, 300 views on that video, so I'm doubling, tripling, quadrupling that level just by posting it on LinkedIn right now. For some reason or other, it seems that LinkedIn really likes video right now, so anyways, long story short, got some tips here. Go back. Watch the video. See what I'm talking about, but first things first. Give something away, a value on that landing page. Once again, I've got that 199-dollar course that I give away that people want. When people come in, I also nurture leads, so once again, you see this, I've got a 14-day schedule that people go through. Then, what happens is they go onto a list. Any new content I put up on my website, it automatically gets delivered to them. In that way, I can also put marketing messages in front of them on a regular basis. Then, last but not the least, keep doing this. Don't make a one-and-done. Add content on a regular basis. That's where you're going to start seeing the potentials for leads rolling in on these stuff. Once again, here it is in action. Go to bit.ly/28and14 to get access to this 14-part LinkedIn course. Text LinkedIn14 to 44222 in the US. Put your e-mail address in, and you'll get onto the list with the access to the course or LinkedIn14 to 1-855-969-5300 in Canada. If you want to reach out to me, send me an e-mail, chris@salestipaday.com, or you could phone me at 403-630-1243 or go to salestipaday.com for lots of killer sales and marketing biz-dev content and information to help you out. Thanks a ton for watching, and have yourself a great day.
How To Follow Up with New LinkedIn Connections Do what 99% of LinkedIn Members Don't and Gain More: I am going to let you in on a little secret that 99% of LinkedIn Users don't do yet it delivers sales leads for me. It's sending a follow up message to your new LinkedIn connections. Here is the Transcript of the video: Hi there. It's Chris Hamilton here with sales tip a day, www.salestipaday.com, and today I'm going to show you how to follow up with new LinkedIn connections. You're going to see what 99% of LinkedIn users don't do and how you can do this to get new clients. So let's get started here. Where you want to go in your LinkedIn profile is across the top. You're going to see in the menu area it says my networks. So select my network and it's going to bring you to a page with all your connections. So what you're going to do is you're going to click and click where it says to see all your connections in the upper left hand corner. Now once you get there, you're going to see all your connections, and you have the ability to sort them by different perimeters. So what you want to do is you want to sort on recently added. So it's going to show you the most recent added person, all the way to the oldest person that you have on LinkedIn that you've connected with. Now when you're in here, what you do, is beside that persons name you're going to see the message option. Click message and it's going to bring up the ability to send a new message to that person and here's the message I use it sends out. Now before I say this, it's great because when I send this out I get people sending me stuff back saying, "Hey, I'd like help with this, or I need help with this." So here's the thing, this is the message I use. I use their first name, so Joe, thanks for connecting. I only have one question for you, what can I do to help you out? If there's anything you're struggling with, please let me know, and I will see if I can help you out or know someone who can. Have a great day, Chris. Then I put this P.S. in here, it says P.S. I do stay in contact periodically, I don't like to connect just to get connections on LinkedIn. I think it should be a relationship. The whole idea by putting that P.S. in there is that gives me the ability to reach out to these people on a regular basis. I use a program called Contactually to do that and I will do another video on how to use Contactually to stay in contact with people. So that's the message that I send out and people come back to me and ask me, how, you know, they tell me what they need. Sometimes it's something that I could do for free, other times they're asking me to do marketing work for them or something else for them and stuff like that. So, but anyways, it opens up a conversation with people. So, here's the other thing you want to do, is, I put this in every Friday afternoon for me to follow up. So, I put it in my Google calendar and basically it repeats every Friday and reminds me to reach out to people on LinkedIn that I've just recently connected with over the last week. So there's my whole process right there. So, once again if you want to access my 14 part LinkedIn Little Known Tips and Tricks Course, what you need to do is go to bit.ly/28and14 or text LinkedIn14 to 44222 in the U.S. or in Canada, texted LinkedIn14 to 1-855-969-5300. There is a $200 value on this course and you're going to get it for free.
How Do I Download LinkedIn Connections Email Addresses? Did you know that you can download your LinkedIn connections email addresses? Why would you want to do this? First reason that I can think of is that people on LinkedIn don't look at their LinkedIn Messaging section, so if you are using Messaging to reach out to people, chances are that they don't see the message. You can take the list of LinkedIn connections and contact information and upload it to your email service and send messages that way. The second reason is that if you are in sales, the chances are that you have some prospects or clients in your LinkedIn connections. You can sort your list and add them to an email marketing solution if you are using one. I hope you found this information valuable. Please feel free to comment below.

In fact, 50% of B2B buyers use LinkedIn to source suppliers. 50% of those buyers will avoid an incomplete profile and the first thing that usually see on a profile is the picture, so make it count. There is a great service that you can use called PhotoFeeler, that will tell you how likeable, competent and influential your LinkedIn profile photo is. PhotoFeeler has a free account or you can pay for the service. What Photofeeler does is have 10+ people rate your photo on 3 characteristics; Competence, Likability and Influence. What they also found is that the two strongest traits fro LinkedIn are Competence and Influence. Here are some do not’s for your LinkedIn profile photo: No selfies Don’t have your pet in your picture How to Use Your Headline To Generate Sales Leads: Your LinkedIn Profile headline is one of the first things that people see on your profile. What LinkedIn does is pull in your most current job title. So you may see something like “Territory Sales Representative for XYZ Company”. Honestly, that is not very compelling. What you have to do is give a reason for someone to reach out to you. I use the following formula for a LinkedIn headline: Who you are + results you get + a call to action For example, my headline is: Your SMB Sales and Marketing Go To Person Who Can Generate Up To 10 X’s More Sales Leads - Ask me how. So following my rule, here are the components: Who your are - “Your SMB Sales and Marketing Go To Person” Results you get - “Who Can Generate Up To 10 X’s More Sales Leads” Call to action - “Ask me how” Tip: Do not use your phone number or your email address in the headline, this breaches LinkedIn’s terms and conditions and you can have your account shut down. In the next post I will give you even more LinkedIn Profile post tips and tricks that you can use to generate more views of your profile and potentially more sales leads.
How to Download Your LinkedIn Connections Emails - Access Your Most Useful Information On LinkedIn: I’ll bet you didn’t know that you can download your connections email addresses out of LInkedIn? It is extremely easy to do. Here are the steps to download your LinkedIn connections Emails: On the main page on LInkedIn, go to the Me menu item and click it Then select Settings and Privacy - You will be taken to the settings page Scroll down to the last option in the Basics menu and select “Getting an archive of your data” Click on that and then select “Fast file only” - You will be prompted to use your LinkedIn Password You will receive an email from LinkedIn instructing you to download your file - Click the link You will be brought back to your LinkedIn Settings page where you can then click the Download button You file will be downloaded as a zip file Open the Zip File and select the Connections.csv file Now that you have the email addresses of all of your LinkedIn connections, what can you do with them? Here are some suggestions: 1. Sort the list and tag your contacts: You now have the ability to go through and tag your LinkedIn connections any way that you want to. As a suggestion, you could go through and tag your connections how you might want to categorize them, like prospect, client, suspect. A system that I often use is A, B, C and D. A connections I want to keep in touch with every 30 days, B every 60 days and C every 90 days or more. D connections are those connections that I really don’t have any need to keep in contact with. I usually go through and sort my email connections once I download the list. Because I am downloading this information on a regular basis, I only add tags to any new connections. 2. Upload to your CRM: If you sort your connections and it makes sense, you can upload them to your Client Relationship Management (CRM) system. Don’t upload connections to your CRM if it doesn’t make sense, that’s just extra noise you will be adding to your CRM. 3. Add to your email list: If you have sorted your contacts and it makes sense, you can add them to your email contact list so that you can keep in contact. Some Additional Information on Downloading LinkedIn Connections Emails: I believe that this will eventually go away, so you should put this in your calendar to do every month. This won’t work for 2nd or 3rd level connections and there is no way to do this. If you are using the different tabs in Gmail - you may have to look under the “Social” tab.
