A Secret To Generating Sales Leads On LinkedIn That Few Know About: Transcription: Hi there. It's Chris Hamilton here with Sales Tip A Day, www.salestipaday.com, and I'm going to let you in on a secret on generating sales leads on LinkedIn that I've started using and seen great success from. It's a great way to generate sales leads, and I'll tell you what. Looking on LinkedIn, I know there's a lot of people that don't use this, so I'll tell you what. If you're a solopreneur or a small entrepreneur or whatever, you know what? This is a fantastic way to generate sales leads for your business. Before I get into that, I just want to let you know you can access a 14-part LinkedIn sales prospecting course that I have. You can go to bit.ly/28and14, or you could text LinkedIn14 to 44222 in the US or LinkedIn14 to 1-855-969-5300 in Canada. They'll ask you for your e-mail address. Just put it in, and you'll get on the list. Then, basically, you'll get a new course everyday for 14, or a new part of the course everyday for 14 days. Basically, this has about 199-dollar value, and you're going to get it for free. Do you want to learn a great way to generate sales leads from LinkedIn? Here's one of the best ways to do it. I create content on a consistent basis one to two times a week. Then, I post these stuff up on LinkedIn. What I found is when I put links in driving people to my website or landing pages on my website, it gets people to sign up. In this case, I've got people trying to go to my website, salestipaday.com for LinkedIn Tips and Tricks. When they go there and it's the first time they've ever been there clicking that link, they go to something called a welcome gate. Now, I use a landing page service called Leadpages, and you can create these welcome gates. What the welcome gate does is it allows you to put some content up before people access your website, so in this case, I'm going to offer daily sales and marketing tips and tricks. I've got there, it says, "Send me the tips." The other box says, "No, thanks. Take me directly to Sales Tip A Day." If they hit send me the tips, they give me their name and e-mail. When they hit submit, it takes them through the Sales Tip A Day or it gives them the option to go through it. Basically, I get a 25, 26% of the people that hit this page actually giving me their name and e-mail, so that's one way that you can do that stuff and generate leads through LinkedIn. Another way is just as you saw, I've got this 14-part tips and tricks course. When I'm putting stuff up on LinkedIn, some of the times, I'll put this link in, the bit.ly/28and14. Down here, you can see though LinkedIn has changed it to their own URL, but that's okay. It still takes people through to that page. If I'm creating content that's based around that, first of all, if they're watching the video, they see the information there. Secondly, it's in the description, so there's a couple of different places where people can actually end up doing that. When they click on that, it takes them through to this page. Basically now, they can access this, get instant access. Click that button. Give me your contact information, and I'll start sending you the course that you want to see. Now, the other thing too is because I use Leadpages to build these landing pages out, you can go to leadpages.net to find that. They also have another option called a lead digit, so what you saw was text at LinkedIn14 to 44222 and also the 1-800 number in Canada. You can set up specific unique text identifiers and connect them through to your e-mail marketing software so that when people text and put their name or put their e-mail in, then basically, they can go on your e-mail list. It's fantastic, and it works really well as well. Then, when someone actually does sign up through the Leaddigits, I just get a notification telling me that they've actually signed up on my course. Here's the steps through this thing. First of all, you want to create a presentation with a lead generation slide, so I've done that right here. You see that at the front part or the side, I've reiterated a couple of times, and you're going to see it again coming up here as well, but create it with something to give away a value that your clients would like to see. Now, as I say, what you want to do is you want to create a landing page. I use Leadpages. Another one I use is Thrive Themes. There's also ClickFunnels. There's a few. There's a few different landing page softwares out there, but this one was super simple to hit. I'll tell you what. When people hit this page, I get a sign up rate of about 45 to 50% of the people that hit this page click, get instant access on this one because it's very laser-focused and targeted to what they want. There's a huge signup rate on that. Think about this. For every 100 people that hit my sign up, I get about 45 to 50 names that hit this page, very successful on this one. Now, what I do with the third step is you want to connect your e-mail marketing service. With the landing page, to get instant access, the thing that you need to do is you need to connect that through to an e-mail marketing system. I use Aweber. I also use MailChimp, but I also, on the right hand side, you see ActiveCampaign, so when people click that instant access, it takes them into a marketing funnel, which then drips one part of the course every day ovevr 14 days. It captures your name and e-mail and all that information as well. It sounds a little technical, but I'll tell you what. When you get into ... If you got into Leadpages, there is a cost for it, but it's well worth it because you'll make money off of it. They have a bunch of tutorials in there on how to do these stuff. It's really not that tough actually. The other thing too is, once again, if you're using Leadpages, you can use these Leaddigits and connect your e-mail service through on this one as well, very straightforward on that one. Now, last step here is because I create videos, what I do is I click the video, but you can write an article or add images, but I click this video, and then what happens is, it allows me to upload the video. Then, when I upload the video, what I do is in the description, I give a very high-level description on this one, but once again, I put a link through to access my little Know and tips and tricks course or whatever the content or whatever that link may be based on the content that I'm showing. Then, once again, it also shows up in the videos. There's a couple of different ways that people can see this. One of the things I really like about being able to do this too is I get to see how many people have viewed my video. I get to see how many people have come from different companies, what kind of roles they have, where they live, which part of the network? Are they my first level, second level, network and stuff like that. All interesting stuff, and quite interesting on this case is I get 1,329 views. On my website, I may only get two, 300 views on that video, so I'm doubling, tripling, quadrupling that level just by posting it on LinkedIn right now. For some reason or other, it seems that LinkedIn really likes video right now, so anyways, long story short, got some tips here. Go back. Watch the video. See what I'm talking about, but first things first. Give something away, a value on that landing page. Once again, I've got that 199-dollar course that I give away that people want. When people come in, I also nurture leads, so once again, you see this, I've got a 14-day schedule that people go through. Then, what happens is they go onto a list. Any new content I put up on my website, it automatically gets delivered to them. In that way, I can also put marketing messages in front of them on a regular basis. Then, last but not the least, keep doing this. Don't make a one-and-done. Add content on a regular basis. That's where you're going to start seeing the potentials for leads rolling in on these stuff. Once again, here it is in action. Go to bit.ly/28and14 to get access to this 14-part LinkedIn course. Text LinkedIn14 to 44222 in the US. Put your e-mail address in, and you'll get onto the list with the access to the course or LinkedIn14 to 1-855-969-5300 in Canada. If you want to reach out to me, send me an e-mail, chris@salestipaday.com, or you could phone me at 403-630-1243 or go to salestipaday.com for lots of killer sales and marketing biz-dev content and information to help you out. Thanks a ton for watching, and have yourself a great day.

John Lee Dumas is the man behind the Entrepreneurs on Fire website and the super popular EOFire podcast. This podcast is an award winning podcast that reveals the journey of inspiring entrepreneurs seven days a week. John has interviewed a list of who’s who in the business and entrepreneurship world including Barbara Corcoran, Tim Ferriss, Seth Godin and even me. John is also an amazing example of a successful entrepreneur in the podcast industry. I don’t have to tell you this because his numbers and income reports speak for themselves. Today, we are going to talk about his first book Podcast Launch and why and how he wrote it. We also talk about how the book was the inspiration for JLDs successful podcasting course and community called Podcaster’s Paradise. We also talk about how John built a list and used his book and podcast as a lead generation tool. He created a free podcast course and didn’t hold anything back. Some people said he was crazy for doing this, but the lead generation results of the course also speak for themselves. This is fun episode where my friend John shares how his book, course, and funnel led to his biggest earner at the time which was Podcaster’s Paradise. You can find JLD here: Entrepreneurs on Fire Entrepreneurs on Fire Podcast Books and Course by JLD including Podcast Launch and Free Podcast Course Podcaster’s Paradise Podcast Launch @JohnLeeDumas Twitter John Lee Dumas facebook Show Notes [01:41] In hindsight, writing a book seemed liked the most obvious step. Entrepreneur on Fire was meant to be about entrepreneurship, but listeners wanted to know John's method for podcasting, so he decided it was time to tell his story.[03:34] John and Kate wrote the book from start to finish, and he has rewritten and revised it several times. The day it launched it was the number one ranked book in Amazon for podcast and podcasting. He wrote the book in a weekend. [04:29] The book launched in February of 2013 and Podcaster's Paradise launched in October of 2013. Writing the book helped John realize that he did have a process.[05:14] How starting is hard, but once things are started they flow. It took about 70 hours for John to write the book.[06:29] The book helped John realize that there was an audience for people wanting to podcast. This sparked the idea for Podcaster's Paradise. [08:51] Podcast Launch was the MVP for Podcaster's Paradise. John also had more to share and knew that people wanted a community. [09:54] How John created a wire frame of what his course would look like, then he told his book readers that he was creating a live podcasting workshop. He also gave his early readers early access at a discounted price. He also said it would open in 45 days at a higher price.[11:25] The webinar proved that it was a viable product and he created everything and opened the doors at $397 and he still has his lifetime founding members that got in at $197 early adopter discount price. Now the product costs much more. [13:09] John was able to bounce ideas off of his 35 founding members as he built out the course. The feedback helped in the creation process. [14:18] John put an offer for the free audio version of the book on the second page of the book. This was a great optin for his webinar. Even people browsing the book would find the optin link. This method combined with others helped build a nice targeted email list. [17:39] Podcast Launch has been a great lead generation tool for Podcaster's Paradise and the book continues to make sales. [18:26] All of the funnels lead to Podcaster's Paradise because at the time this was his biggest source of revenue. [19:33] The best thing he did was create the FreePodcastCourse.com It teaches everything without being a cliffhanger. This allowed him to build a 12,000+ person email list that he can use to market. [22:01] There is an image leading to the free course right at the beginning of the book, and it drives leads every single day. He also uses the Entrepreneur on Fire intros and Leaddigits. [24:44] John has several intros that he uses to present his calls-to-action in his podcast.[25:14] John shares how Chandler helped him increase his lead generation sign ups into the free podcast course. [31:54] How John has found some great podcast mentors who he can recommend to his readers and listeners. The referral system generated revenue for John. [33:07] How we have to pay our dues and have our seasons of work before we can learn and scale in a massive way. [33:54] John also has people he recommends for intro, outros, and logos. He is also one of nine affiliates for LibSyn. Use promo code FIRE for two free months. [35:18] When he has a guest recommend a book he mentions his Audible.com affiliate link. [37:47] John recommends coming from a place from within to provide genuine value when writing a book. Then take a step back and add on marketing tactics and tools. Focus on email capture and bonus content that will grow your list. He's here to explain the best techniques for selling, reaching out to new customers, and making the most of your in-person presentations. Whether you conduct sales in person, from presentations on stage or virtually through webinars, Dustin’s advice will offer incredible value. Find Out More About Dustin Here: Dustin Mathews @dustinmathews on Twitter Dustin Mathews on LinkedIn In This Episode: [01:24] - What’s the secret sauce for creating a presentation that sells products and services, and has people running to the back of the room with their credit cards to buy what you’re selling? [03:38] - Dustin talks about what makes an offer irresistible instead of just mildly compelling. He explains that he has a nine-point system, and mentions what the first of these points is. [07:00] - Dustin discusses the hot-button close. He offers some examples of hot buttons that various audience members might have. [10:37] - We hear more about Dustin’s perspective on customer appreciation events and strategies. He then explains that he likes to position events as bonuses. He also likes to include a physical component in bonuses. [13:21] - Stephan points out that having a physical component reduces the return rate. Dustin then expands on that concept. He and Stephan then discuss people wanting refunds past the money-back guarantee time. [16:22] - We hear why Stephan plans to start taking Dustin’s advice to minimize people asking for refunds. [18:15] - Dustin piggybacks off of what Stephan has been saying, pointing out that you don’t personally need to reach out to customers yourself. Instead, you can outsource this task. [19:40] - Is it better to use limiters based on time or quantity? Dustin prefers to use both whenever possible. [24:30] - Stephan relates what he learned about pickup to the ideas that Dustin has been offering. Dustin then talks about a study involving copy machines that reveals the importance of giving a reason. [28:30] - What is “the benefit of the benefit,” and what does it really mean? Dustin answers, then talks about how he incorporates this into his presentations. [32:59] - Dustin walks us through the typical structure of one of his presentations. [35:08] - Dustin begins explaining the five components of a presentation that he mentioned a moment earlier. These are: 1. the intro, 2. the story, 3. the offer, 4. the body, and 5. the close. [37:28] - What are some best practices for doing a really effective close? Dustin reveals that a successful close depends on doing things right throughout your presentation. [40:29] - Stephan points out that Dustin’s advice is basically a yes ladder. Dustin then relates this back to the dating world, in which you don’t immediately get married. [41:49] - The more time you have with a prospect, the better, Dustin explains. [43:54] - What do you do if you’re giving a presentation where you aren’t allowed to sell from stage, and no pitching is allowed? [47:04] - Dustin offers two more ways to get around a no-pitching or no-sales rule in a presentation. [49:51] - Everybody has a mobile phone, Dustin points out, so getting them to text may be easier. He then explains his techniques [52:28] - Stephan provides a couple tools for listeners, explaining that he uses Leadpages and the Leaddigits tool. [54:11] - How do you get people to storm the stage (or, in Dustin’s case, the back of the room)? What would be the advantage of LeadPages over just doing them in WordPress? Primary function of bloggers is to take away overstimulation of information overload and too many choices A landing page focuses on getting a visitor to do one thing like sign up a newsletter LeadPages is a software tool built with billions of data points about how to get a visitor to sign up, buy or convert in some form It enables a blogger to have a landing page that has already been tested and proven to get results Types of Pages Opt-in landing page Webinar registration page - Webinars are a great way to connect with an audience and they convert really well Home page - Let the first connection be something that can help your reader, offer a guide or resource LeadPages Tools LeadBoxes - Fastest way to grow an email list. It’s a pop-up opt-in form that is triggered by a link or image. Tested across 35,000 customers and it had a 32% conversion increase Content Upgrades - Include a LeadBox or opt-in form that gives away something made specifically for that blog post, PDF checklist, PDF blog post, etc. As an example the yellow button at the end of these show notes is a LeadPages LeadBox LeadLinks - A tool that allows inserting a link in an email that adds the subscriber to a list or webinar, used for segmentation, webinar registration, and growing a list though partners by sharing a link on their list LeadDigits - Allows collecting opt-ins via text message, great for public speaking Can I use LeadPages to build up my list, while I’m in the process of the design and setup of my new site? Yes, even if you don’t use LeadPages, grow your list with at least a simple landing page that speaks to your target audience Giveaway a simple one page list of tools or resources that you use to accomplish your blog topic Link your domain to a simple landing page and direct readers there You will have a ready built audience when your blog launches You can also use this tactic when developing a product This method can even be used as part of your market research Value Bomb Reverse Landing Page You create something of massive value, tons of content, takes a long time to create Once you have this content it will be a big lead generator for years to come An example: Year End Social Media Report from Social Media Examiner Create a big report, with a couple of pages free and then an opt-in for the rest
I am always on the lookout for new helpful tools that will allow me to market better. The three tools that I talk about in today's episode will absolutely help simplify and enhance your marketing execution so that you can really grow by leaps and bounds this year. When I talk about marketing I really emphasize measuring and testing. Measuring and testing are really critical components so that you can always be improving your efforts in order to get the lowest cost most effective marketing done. One tool in particular that I talk about in today's episode really helps to do that, it is called AdEspresso.com. With AdEspresso.com you can create literally hundereds of versions of ads all at once so that you can test all kinds of items like headlines, content of the ads, calls to action, images used in the ads, and demographic targeting options/audiences. This really takes the guess work out of knowing what works best and radically saves you time and effort. It would be impossible to do the amount of work that this system does for you even if your only job was to be constantly setting and testing Facebook ads all day. It also gives you easy to understand reporting so that you can clearly see what is working without having to create custom reports in facebook ad reporting and then integrate it with your Google analytics data. I have only recently been testing out AdEspreso.com but so far it is really been an amazing tool in all the marketing that I've done in the past couple months. You can get a free trial at AdEspresso.com for 14 days so be sure to check it out! The Next Item that I talk about is a little bit less glamorous or exciting as AdEspresso.com but I think it could really help and it is the Facebook Pages Manager CRM like features that have recently been updated on the App. If you have to manage your practice's page and use the app you can find this feature by making sure your app is updated and you can click on a specific person who interacts with your fan page. Once you click on the individual it will pull up a page that shows data on who you are talking with. You can see things like how long they've liked your page, where they live and you can add notes. This is a good idea to tag people, especially if they are troublemakers on your page so that any admin can look up notes and know to mute comments & block or even how to respond. The last item I cover in today's podcast is LeadDigits from Leadpages. If you would like to try this out text "veterinary" to 44222 and you'll get a copy of my 31 veterinary blog post ideas. Lead Digits allows you jto collect email information through text messages and best of all it is integrated into leadpages so it is a bonus feature that I didn't realize I already had. There are so many applications for this in your practice and I cover some really cool marketing ideas. If you want to see how leadpages works send me an email and I'll show you the best ways to use leadpages in your veterinary practice.
Good web design is one of those must haves in 2015. A solid landing page that converts well should be the final destination of any Facebook or social media ad buy. Today, James and Sean share about LeadPages (and their awesome tools LeadBoxes and LeadDigits) and how you can consistently produce great pages.
