Why a podcast? Everyone and their mama have a podcast these days... Well, I feel this podcast and my voice has a purpose that is greater than me ...The fact is, GOD, laid in my heart a long time ago to start some form of communication with the world. I was confused at first because I didn't know why He wanted to use me. As I prayed and received confirmation, I realized that He was very serious and intentional about me and the gifts that He has given me. He wants to use my life experiences to help other people that might be in the same situation as me. At first, I ignored the calling. I wasn't at a place where I wanted to change. If I am honest... I wanted the change badly but didn't want to work for it. But I was encouraged to shift my mindset as I realized this isn’t just about me. This is about all of us. Speaking Arrangements podcast is a safe place where each listener can tune in, kick back and relate to the content. We will touch on many topics and talk through challenges, stereotypes and our pain. But we are gonna laugh too. A lot!We may get uncomfortable and we will get very real, but I promise you; we are striving for real growth and change. We cannot stay in our comfort zones any longer the only way to go from here is UP!!!.Here is a taste of what I am bringing to the table. Being Boldly Yourself means having the courage to embrace your unique individuality, and to be unapologetically authentic in all aspects of your life. It means being true to your values, beliefs, passions, and personality, and not allowing external pressures or expectations to influence or shape who you are. This power lies in the fact that when you are being truly yourself, you attract the right people and opportunities into your life, leading to greater personal fulfillment, success, and happiness. When you are not afraid to be different, you inspire others to do the same, and this creates a ripple effect of positivity and authenticity.IG- https://www.instagram.com/speaking__arrangements/

Words have power. Their meaning crystallizes perceptions, shapes our beliefs, drives our behaviour, and ultimately creates our world. The words that are spoken to us, and the words that we talk to ourselves shape our lives and mould us into the adults that we are today so choose wisely.
Studies show that perhaps the most essential component of psychological well-being is not family, material possessions, or career successes, but rather our friendships.I never actively chose my friends; they were based on proximity and convenience. Most of those friendships didn't last because I hadn't chosen wisely, or at all.Friendships are one of the most significant investments we can make for our long-term happiness, and are often totally overlooked.
No matter how often someone tells you to “put your oxygen mask on” before helping others, it still feels wired. Let's face it, prioritizing yourself is probably complicated most times. It's almost laughable. How do you put yourself first when it feels like you're living through multiple disasters? How do you say, “I deserve more than this,” when people suffer everywhere? The short answer: It's hard but necessary work—and I have a few tips that could make it a bit easier for you on your self-love journey
Can all the “soft life” babes and gents, please rise?
In episode 3 of this mini-series, Kaiha and I talk about a significant aspect people lack in their romantic relationships: identity. Intimacy in relationships is so much more than sex and physical affection. So let's talk about identity, the missing piece to a fulfilling relationship.
EPISODE 2 IS OUT NOW!! This is definitely one of our favourite episodes we've recorded so far. Yemi gave us an insightful breakdown of manhood and the key figures that help shape a man's identity from a young age. You can listen while driving, at the gym, or doing laundry. And remember to send it to someone you think needs to hear this!
Welcome to season 3 of the speaking Arrangements podcast! It's truly an honour to still be adding my voice to conversations and topics the Lord has laid on my heart. We're so excited to share this series with you all! Talking about identity is so close to our hearts because we've realized that coming to a holistic understanding of who you are is essential to living a fulfilled life. Our perspective of the world and its possibilities is primarily shaped by how we perceive ourselves. In the same way, our identity is influenced by many of our world experiences. So, what and who are you allowing to shape your identity?
We often hear you become what you think or focus on. I didn't realize how true this statement was until recently when all I could think about was my past. I started reliving the pain and shame I felt in those moments. I just couldn't shake it, so many thoughts would plague my mind every day about how much of a failure I had become. One Sunday I went to church sat down in the back like always do and heard a word that saved my life. There's no doubt about it, what you think or focus on is crucial in becoming successful and achieving your dreams.
There are so many things a father's love can do and so many things that a lack of it destroys. I believe that God gives us the greatest example of a father's love. His love is sacrificial, patient, kind, humble, honest, forgiving, faithful, and selfless. It's constant and never changes. On this episode of Speaking Arrangements, I sat down with my father Pastor Emmanuel to talk about the role of a father. Please listen and I promise you'll be blessed.
Have you ever seen an ugly picture of yourself on social media? A notification pops up and you can't un-tag yourself fast enough because that face, you're making is just the worst. Now, imagine that notification popping up, but this time when you open it you see something you can't believe. Something criminal, and sadly, something everyone else can see now too. I got one of those notifications once. I saw a girl who was naked and unsuspecting. She is a daughter, a sister, and most immortally a child of GOD. Her name is Rebecca Johnson. She is me. I was a victim of revenge pornography, and this is my story.
"Haters' gonna hate, ” song lyrics pop into my head when I think about OPPS. This song takes on jealousy and haters in a light-hearted way; to simply shake it off. However, it's not that easy to shake off family members and fake friends that are full of hate and jealousy. We all tend to take negative comments to heart, even when we don't know the person well but choose to ignore these traits from people that we have deemed as close. In this episode I breakdown how we can distance ourselves from opp but still walk in love.
Are you the real OPP in your life? Most times we blame others for our insecurities and self-doubt but most times the real OPP lives inside. Self-hatred develops over time. It's typically triggered by more than one factor, including past trauma, perfectionism, false expectations, social comparisons, and several learned behaviours. When you allow yourself to let go of the negative critic, you make room for more joy, peace, and connection in your life. Join me as I share my experiences and give practical steps on how to find love and peace within.
In the dictionary, grace is defined as courteous goodwill. Meaning, it's not asked for nor deserved, but is freely given. Mercy on the flip side is the compassion and kindness shown to people whom it is in one's power to punish or harm not that's its right. It is an act meant to relieve yourself and the offender of suffering.
Welcome back to speaking arrangements In this episode, I'm joined by Tarissa Woolaston and Audrey French two beautiful businesses owners from Edmonton Alberta. Join us as we talk all things women and Entrepreneurship respectfully
It is mid-year, and you are freaking out about what's left on your to-do list. Things feel like they are falling apart, and if the evil one tries you one more time, you might catch a case
Anything Worthwhile Takes Hard WorkAnything that is worthwhile achieving in this world takes dedication and hard work. It requires considerable effort, thought and time invested in performing tasks and in acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, resources, and experience that will help you to ultimately attain your desired outcomes. GOD knows I struggle with this principle
What are your real motives behind the desire to be successful? Is it self validating? or perhaps for monetary gain? For a long time, I wanted to be successful, so I could prove to everyone that had never believed in me; that I had done something with my life. It was my sole motivation; everything I did was empowered by insecurities and the hurtful things people had said over the years. Until the Holy Spirit showed me the state of my heart; It was a hard pill to swallow. I instantly knew I had to do better because the gift God had given me was not being utilized the way he had intended. In this episode, I'll be exploring the importance of locating our God-given gifts and how we can be of service to others with those same gifts. Join me as I dive deeper.
True self-love is The commitment to objectively know me as I am, to fully experience life as it comes to me, and to honour my potential by continually seeking ways to grow. Why is self-love so important? ... Another famous line from the Bible — “Love your neighbour as yourself” — also points to this truth.
Perhaps we unconsciously think that if you "worry enough," you can stop bad things from happening. But the truth is you can't. Worrying can actually affect the body in ways that may surprise you. When our worrying becomes excessive, it can lead to feelings of anxiety and even cause you to be physically ill. In this episode, I take a closer look at the dangers of worrying and what it can do to your mind and body when it goes unchecked. Even though we may be prone to worrying, the behaviour doesn't have to control our lives. Listen to the episode as I share easy tips to help you stop worrying so much.
What an interesting year 2020 was. Out with the old and in with the new. GOD has been amazing to me and my family, nevertheless. From battles with depression, lost relationships, the fear of the unknown and sudden deaths he protected me through it all.So many goals I didn’t meet places I didn’t get to see it started to take a toll on me and I didn’t even realize. As the year started to round up, I was emotionally numb. I closed off everything trying to get access to my heart including GOD and Speaking Arrangements. I couldn’t record I didn’t want to use the gift GOD gave me to uplift his people I had given up.I’m letting go of 2020 NOT LOOKING BACK. Cheers to a safe and memorable new year.Join me as I recap my 2020 and give you guys an insight into what I have planned for 2021.
Jealousy and envy are highly related. They are the result of the toxic combination of anxiety-based insecurity, anger, and an obsession with comparing oneself to others (often very poorly). Jealousy also has a very strong root in fear- especially of losing praise or love from the object of one’s affection, or that something that one has will be taken from them. It is also rooted in an individual’s longing for significance and security. Jealousy usually involves a triangle of three individuals- the jealous individual, their rival or friend, and the person whose attention is being competed for.
