Have you ever caught yourself dismissing the Jewish lessons you learned as a child? Those Uncle Moishe songs and "simple" Torah stories might contain more wisdom than we give them credit for.The mountains competed for God's attention. Mount Tabor and Mount Carmel—majestic, impressive peaks—proudly proclaimed their worthiness to host the giving of the Torah. They boasted of their grandeur and demanded recognition. Yet God chose neither. Instead, the humble, unassuming Mount Sinai—which made no claims about its importance—was selected for the most momentous event in Jewish history. This wasn't coincidence but divine instruction: true honor finds those who don't chase it.The Medrash Rabbah teaches us that humility isn't just a nice character trait—it's so essential that God designed the very staging of the Torah revelation to demonstrate it. Similarly, when God says "Let us make man" in Genesis, the Creator of the universe models the importance of consulting with those perceived as lesser, even at the risk of the text being misinterpreted. These seemingly simple stories contain profound wisdom about how we should move through the world—listening more than speaking, valuing others' perspectives, and recognizing our own limitations. As adults, we have the capacity to engage with these teachings at a deeper level than we could as children. Instead of dismissing them as stories we've outgrown, what if we approached them with fresh eyes? The melodies may have introduced us to these concepts, but our mature minds can now appreciate their profound implications for our relationships and spiritual development. Take a moment today to reconsider a Jewish teaching from your childhood—its wisdom might be exactly what you need most right now.Support the showJoin The Motivation Congregation WhatsApp community for daily motivational Torah content!Elevate your impact by becoming a TMC Emerald Donor! In this powerful sermon, discover how God's Word affirms and validates the vital role of mothers in His eternal plan. Drawing from Genesis and the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, this message explores the spiritual truths behind the struggle for validation and worth that many moms face today. Learn how God's purposeful design and unconditional love transcend cultural expectations, calling every mom to embrace her God-given role with confidence and faith. Pastor Dan unpacks the profound significance of motherhood, rooted in scripture, as he reflects on God's decision to use a mother's womb to bring salvation to the world through Jesus Christ. This timely reminder challenges societal narratives and inspires moms to find their identity and worth in God alone. Through biblical references like Genesis 3 and Luke 1, the sermon reveals how God's plan restores hope and reaffirms the irreplaceable value of motherhood. In this episode we look at why God chose a donkey when Jesus was preparing to enter the city of Jerusalem. We look at what a donkey would mean to those living in that culture and day. We also look at how the donkey fulfilled the prophecy given by Zechariah. We then look through the different reasons that God chose that donkey specifically and what we can learn from those reasons. If Solomon says we can learn from ants and Jesus tells us to learn from the birds, we should be willing to learn from a donkey too, and we have a lot to learn from this one. We're called to embrace our mission and be faithful in the fulfilling in it, just like this donkey. We'll be trained by the Holy Spirit, loosed by Him and led by Him to exactly where He desires for us to be!

God could have chosen any avenue to send His son to the earth but He chose a woman. Why would He do that and what does that say about a woman's purpose and value? We go all the way back to Genesis in this episode and talk about the prophecy of a virgin birth. Why did it have to be a virgin birth anyway? There are some who accuse the Bible of being sexist but after listening to this episode you won't agree. We're talking Christmas theology and keeping Christ in Christmas with this one. God called the great King David of Isreal a man after his own heart, even after he did some very bad things in his time as king. How is this possible? And what does it teach us about our own priorities in this world. What makes a leader after God's own heart?

In a conversation with Argentina podcaster Juan Pablo Varsky, Messi reflected on his extraordinary talent and career, saying he was "chosen by God" for his footballing abilities. "It's very clear to me that I was born like this because God chose me," Messi shared. "It was a gift he gave me. I tried to take advantage of it, I did everything possible to squeeze the most out of it. The truth is, although I did many things, I did nothing to become the player that I already was when I was little." Advancement came for Argentina, but not without a struggle, in their tense match against Ecuador. Argentina opened the scoring when Lisandro Martinez headed in a pass from Alexis Mac Allister during the first half. However, Just when it seemed Argentina would maintain their lead, Kevin Rodriguez headed in a last-minute equalizer for Ecuador, forcing the game into a dramatic penalty shootout. Messi's cheeky Panenka attempt hit the bar and missed, but goalkeeper Emi Martinez saved two shots, keeping Argentina in the game.Get all our shows ad-free.
