Send me a Text Message! You wouldn't necessarily expect to find it oozing out of the Old Testament, but Nehemiah 9 gives us a fresh look at the heart of God. Listen, there has never been a moment in your life where God's love for you has dipped below the red-line. It never fails. Unfailing love. There is no one else in your life who will not fail you. But his love never fails. You are relentlessly loved with an indiscriminate affection. That's the story he's writing. That's His voice you hear whispering, "Child come home." His heart is for you. And when we know his heart.. Our only response is to return. This is the essence of repentance. This is why we look deeply at our sin. It's not to lash our hearts with shame and guilt. It's not to motivate us to work harder. It's because this is what returning looks like. So, is it time to return?

Our own minds, along with the words of the Accuser, are going to constantly try to bring the past back up, acting as if it is today's headlines. The more we press into the Lord and His love, the less this will occur, and the more we can deal with it in health.Listen to Psalm 85:7-10 …Show us your unfailing love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! (NLT) For many of us, the past had plenty of foolish ways. So we have to constantly take inventory of our lives to invite the words God speaks, to listen carefully to Him as He speaks truth to us. When we hear Him and do what He asks, then our land—our homes—can be filled with His glory and love, truth, righteousness, and peace will mark our lives. Is there any foolish way from the past that you know needs to be kicked out of your house, so to speak? Is there a new level of listening to God, a new place of obedience, that you need to commit to hear Him as He speaks peace to you?Let's pray together: “Heavenly Father, show me your unfailing love and grant me your salvation. I listen carefully to what You say as You speak peace. Help me to not return to foolish ways. My salvation is near, so my home will be filled with Your glory, Your unfailing love, truth, righteousness and peace. As above, so below.”

June 3, 2026 Daily Devotional: “Holding Fast to the Unfailing Word”Joshua 21:45 "Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass." The context of the promise in the book of Joshua is a story of heavy transitions. It begins with the daunting task of following in the footsteps of Moses, moves through grueling military campaigns, and involves the massive logistical headache of dividing up a new land among twelve distinct tribes. By chapter 21, the dust is finally settling. The tribes have received their inheritances, the cities of refuge are established, and the Levites have been allocated their towns. It is here that the author pauses the historical narrative to look back and offer a summary statement of Israel's entire journey. After decades of wandering in the wilderness, fighting battles, and enduring uncertainty, the verdict is in: God did exactly what He said He would do. It is usually easy to trust God at the beginning of a journey when inspiration is high, and it is easy to praise Him at the very end when thebreakthrough arrives. The struggle happens in the middle. Israel spent centuries waiting for the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham. They experienced slavery in Egypt, forty years of desert wandering, and years of intense warfare in Canaan. There were undoubtedly moments during those long years where it looked like God's promises had failed. Our lives often mimic this pattern. We find ourselves living in the gap between a promise received and a promise fulfilled. In that middle space, fear whispers that God has forgotten us, or that our specific situation is the one exception to His faithfulness. But Joshua 21:45 stands as a historical anchor. The Hebrew phrasing emphasizes totality—literally, "not a single word fell to the ground." God's track record remains unblemished. If He spoke it, He will sustain it, and He will bring it to pass in His perfect timing. Audit your memories, when you face new anxieties, your default setting is often spiritual amnesia. Take five minutes today to write down three specific times in your past where God provided, protected, or directed you when things seemed uncertain. Release the timeline and think of how Israel's promises came to pass, but not on their preferred schedule. Actively surrender your timelineto God today, trusting that His delays are not His denials. Joshua 21:45 is a grand summary statement about the absolute reliability of God. It serves as a historical verdict on Israel's entire journey from Egyptian slavery to the conquest of Canaan, declaring that God has a 100% success rate in keeping His word. It means that God is a promise-keeper, not a promise-breaker. It serves as an anchor for the reader, proving that even when the fulfillment of a promise takes a lifetime of generations and winds through difficult territory, God's word remains unblemished.
1. The Beautiful Meaning 2. The Startling Confession 3. The Sure Salvation In the midst of suffering and national devastation, the prophet Jeremiah, though overwhelmed by grief, anchors his soul in the unshakable truths of God's mercy, compassion, and faithfulness. Despite the ruin of Jerusalem, the destruction of the temple, and the agony of exile, he declares that God's mercies are not exhausted, His compassion never fails, and His faithfulness is great; because they are renewed every morning. This confession is not a denial of pain but a bold affirmation that even in the darkest hour, God remains faithful to His covenant, His promises, and His people, securing their salvation through Christ. The sermon emphasizes that lament is not despair but a faithful expression of sorrow that includes trust in God's enduring goodness, even when His ways are mysterious. Ultimately, the believer's hope is not in circumstances, but in the eternal, unchanging character of God, who will not consume His people, for His mercy is steadfast and His faithfulness infinite.
God's Unfailing Plan: The Olive Tree (Romans 11:1-24) Join Pastor Jason Van Bemmel as he explores Romans 11:1-24 to uncover the profound mystery of God's unfailing plan. In examining the unbelief of the Jewish people toward the Messiah, the Apostle Paul asks: "Has God rejected his people?" and answers with a resounding, "By no means!". In this message, we unpack the following key themes: A Remnant Chosen by Grace: Despite widespread rejection, God has preserved a holy remnant of believers who are chosen entirely by His grace, not on the basis of works. God's Unfailing Word: Scripture reveals that while the elect obtained salvation, God decided the rest would be hardened with eyes that would not see and ears that would not hear. One Olive Tree: On a human level, the rejection of Jesus came from corrupt leaders, but God's overarching purpose in hardening their hearts was to open the door of salvation to the Gentiles. This was designed to provoke Israel to jealousy. Grafted In: Paul uses the imagery of an olive tree to show there is only one people of God and one covenant of grace. Gentile believers are wild olive shoots grafted into the nourishing root of the Abrahamic covenant. A Warning Against Arrogance: Paul explicitly warns Gentile believers not to become proud or arrogant toward the broken-off natural branches, reminding them that the root supports the branches, not the other way around. Ultimately, this passage reminds us that God's promises never fail, and His world is never spinning out of control. We cannot judge God; instead, we must marvel at His unsearchable judgments and give thanks for the sheer grace that has brought us to salvation.

What might be happening, when it looks like all is lost for the church? 1Chronicles 4:24–43 looks forward to the hearing of God's Word, publicly read, in the holy assembly on the coming Lord's Day. In these twenty verses of Holy Scripture, the Holy Spirit teaches us that, even when we see nothing promising in the church, the Lord may yet be doing much gracious work. The passage highlights God's faithfulness to His promises, even through the seemingly diminished tribe of Simeon, whose descendants, though not multiplying as abundantly as Judah, are still preserved and honored in the Chronicler's record. Despite their historical decline and eventual disappearance from the nation, God is shown to have actively sustained and expanded their presence, enabling them to conquer and settle in fertile lands, including defeating Edomites and Amalekites, and establishing enduring communities. The repeated phrase 'to this day' underscores the ongoing fulfillment of divine promises, pointing forward to the ultimate consummation of God's redemptive plan in Christ. This faithful preservation of Simeon's lineage serves as a reminder that God's purposes are not thwarted by human failure or historical decline, but are steadily advancing toward their final fulfillment in Christ's return. The passage thus invites believers to live in hopeful anticipation, trusting that God remains faithful to every promise and continues to gather His people from every nation.
A reflection on the greatness of God, who is worthy of continual praise. He restores broken hearts, brings healing to wounded lives, and gathers those who are scattered. His wisdom is beyond measure, as He knows even the stars by name. A reminder of His care, strength, and majesty over all creation

This sermon, drawn from Zephaniah 3:1–8, confronts the pervasive failure of humanity to heed God's voice, exposing a people who ignore His instructions, reject His standards, and refuse His warnings through persistent rebellion, moral corruption, and spiritual complacency. It vividly portrays the consequences of such disobedience—leadership marked by oppression, judicial injustice, false prophecy, and priestly profanation—contrasted with the unwavering righteousness and faithful justice of God, who remains constant and merciful even in the face of human failure. The passage underscores that God's discipline is not punitive but redemptive, designed to awaken the spiritually numb and draw them back to Himself, calling all—believers and unbelievers alike—to repent, trust in Christ, and draw near to the unfailing God. Ultimately, the message calls for a transformed response: embracing God's correction with humility, reflecting His patient love in relationships, and living with integrity as faithful witnesses to His truth.

Still Waters Psalm 23 (Part 3) Psalm 23 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.” Today I will talk about the last part of this Psalm. There is a lot to like about this ending. First. It starts by saying that God will prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. I don't have to be worried about my enemies as God has got me. He is my shield and my refuge. Now he is saying we will prepare a feast for me. When someone is preparing a meal for us, they are not usually stressed out about it. They don't worry about all the things going on around them. Picture this, there is chaos all around you, and yet in front of you is this beautifully set up dining room table. You have a seat and God is bringing you a feast one course at a time. He is not concerned with your enemies because He knows they can't touch you. You are not concerned either because you feel so at home and taken care of. Isn't that a beautifully relaxing image? Next, the verse says that God honors us by anointing our heads with oil. Did you know that you have an anointing on your life? We all do. Did you know through baptism you were anointed to be priest, prophet, and king? It's true, just as Christ was all three of these, you are also anointed to be these three things to your community. What does that mean for us? Let's start with the priest. Drawing on the priesthood of the Old Testament, a priest is one who offers sacrifices (see Genesis 14:18; Exodus 29:38- 42; Leviticus 23:6,8). Some sacrifices are personal, and some are on behalf of others. These sacrifices will look different for each one of us depending on our circumstances. However, sacrifice to some degree should be a part of our everyday life. I have tried to embrace this in different ways over the years. At times I did a bread and water fast one day a week. Other times I would fast from one thing for a whole month. I would switch it up each month, but there will always be something I am fasting from. I believe that this helps me to appreciate things more and it will also show me that I am not a slave to that thing. For instance, if I feel like I just can't stop eating chocolate, then I will fast from that for a month. By the end of the year, I will have shown God and myself that I do not need these things. I will have also made a small sacrifice each month for 12 months. Next, we have prophet. A prophet is a spokesperson for God or one who speaks on God's behalf (see Exodus 4:30; Deuteronomy 18:18; Isaiah 42:19). In the Old and New Testaments, prophets called people to a different way of life. Can we be a spokesperson for God by how we live our lives? Can we live in a way that when people see us they think to themselves, “I want what they have?” Can we call others to a different way of life, not necessarily with our words, but with our love? Can we love others as Jesus did? Can we speak love and light into the world, into people's lives? Can we be prophets? Lastly, we are anointed as kings. What are kings called to do? Usually rule over others. We are called to rule over ourselves first and foremost. We are all responsible for making sure we are living our lives according to God's laws. Most kings are called to rule over others, however, as Christians, we are called to servant leadership. A servant leader leads by serving others. In other words, servant leaders place the interests and needs of their followers ahead of their own self-interests and needs. Generally, they value the development of their followers, building their communities, acting authentically, and sharing power. Now that we know what each one of these means, hopefully, we can apply this to our everyday life. God has anointed us in our everyday tasks too. For instance, I was anointed to be a mother and a wife. That was where God called me and that is what He set me apart to do. Maybe you are anointed to be a doctor, a lawyer, a pharmacy tech, a garbage collector, a grandmother, a teacher, whatever it is, God has anointed you to do it. Your baptismal anointing is not meant to replace any of those other calls on your life. You are anointed to be a priest, prophet, and king in the life you are already living. Think about your day-to-day life, how can you incorporate sacrifice into your days? How can you be more of a prophet spreading the Lord's Word in your daily lives? How can you be more of a servant leader right now, right where you are? The verse then goes on to say my cup overflows with blessings. This is also great imagery. I love to picture a teacup, as we grew up drinking tea in my family. Although I don't picture a regular tea cup, the image I am getting is an English fancy tea cup from a china set. The tea is being poured into it with a steady stream and the cup is overflowing and running all over the table and even onto the floor. This is how many blessings God has for you. He wants to rain down blessings upon blessings on all of His children. Sometimes we get in the way of God's blessings. Sometimes we don't appreciate the blessings that we have so why would God give us more? Sometimes we find ourselves complaining about all that is going on in our lives instead of praising God and giving thanksgiving. God has ridiculous blessings for you. All you have to do is believe that and then praise God for any blessings, even if they are small. If you can be faithful to the small He will increase your blessings. He is a good, good Father! The ending of this verse is beautiful. “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” We had this word pursue the other day. I love that word. This verse is saying that God's goodness and unfailing love will pursue us all the days of our lives. Isn't that wonderful? We don't have to chase after God, because He is already chasing after us. All we have to do is let ourselves be caught by God's goodness and unfailing love. Unfailing love is not like any love we can find here on earth. It is an incredible love that knows no limits, that knows no boundaries. God's love never leaves us. No matter how much we may try to run from it. No matter how much we try to reject it or send it back. No matter how much we might mess up. God's unfailing love will pursue you every single day of your life. How incredible is that? And the very last part of the verse says, “I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” Yes, please! I want to live in the house of the Lord forever. I think we all do. It is so amazing to me that God has an open-door policy to heaven. All are welcome. Come as you are, in your broken and wounded state. You do not have to earn your way, you don't have to do anything to get there. Jesus has earned you your right to be there. All you have to do is surrender to God and let Him help you, let Him give you the strength to follow Him. Following God is not always an easy road but it is a rewarding road and one that leads to spending eternity living in the house of the Lord. Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening today. Lord, we thank you for loving us like you do. We thank you for preparing us for a feast in the presence of our enemies. We thank you for the ridiculous blessings you want to give us and we are sorry if we get in your way of doing that. We thank you for making us priests, prophets, and kings and we ask for your help in discovering what that means for each one of us and how we can incorporate that anointing into our lives. We love you Lord and we can't wait to live in your house forever! We ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name, Amen! This week Pastor Mike continues our series looking at the unfailing nature of God. Today we explore God's unfailing power.
This week we explore Isaiah 41 and see how God is sovereign over history, nations, and our lives. That he is the only one worthy of worship and our tendency to form idols in our own image.
The sermon centers on the tension between divine truth and human tradition, highlighting how the Pharisees rejected Jesus not because His teachings were false, but because they threatened their self-justifying religious system. Jesus confronts their hypocrisy, exposing their love of money and reliance on man-made traditions while claiming to uphold God's law, emphasizing that true righteousness comes not from external observances but from a heart aligned with God's unchanging Word. The passage underscores that the law and prophets pointed forward to Christ, who fulfilled both the moral and ceremonial demands of the law through perfect obedience and sacrificial atonement, making the old system obsolete not in substance but in function. The preacher calls the audience to reject subjective feelings, cultural opinions, and inherited traditions in favor of absolute trust in Scripture, which remains eternal and authoritative, and to find rest in Christ alone, whose promises—like Romans 8:38–39—secure believers against all spiritual attacks, regardless of their emotional state.
At the start of 2026 we begin a mini-series looking at Isaiah 40. Here we see that God is a God whose promises never fail. Central to our knowledge of this is his self disclosure and revelation to us in his Word.

Doubt doesn't always start with disbelief; it often starts with uneven standards. We put ancient sources on pedestals while demanding perfection from the Gospels. So we ask a sharper question: if historians trust accounts of Alexander the Great written centuries after his death, what should we do with Christian claims circulating within years of the resurrection? Walking through insights popularized by Lee Strobel and scholarship that outlines early creeds, eyewitness proximity, and manuscript depth, we press for intellectual fairness—and courage to follow the evidence where it leads. From there, we bring faith home. Colossians 3 reframes marriage not as power but as mutual sacrifice: wives honoring God's order, husbands rejecting bitterness through self-giving love. Then we step into the Jordan and the wilderness. John the Baptist calls for fruit worthy of repentance, and Jesus answers temptation with Scripture, refusing shortcuts to comfort, spectacle, or power. Those scenes become a map for modern pressure: hold to truth, obey when unseen, and let God define the path.We round out the journey with battle-tested courage and seasonal hope. The story of Medal of Honor recipient Joel Thompson Boone shows love with skin in the game—running into fire to save the wounded. Psalm 3 and Proverbs 1 ground our courage and prudence, while FDR's 1935 Christmas words cast a wider light: the message of peace and goodwill crosses borders, eras, and fears. Taken together, these threads form a steadying line—from historical reliability to daily obedience, from battlefield sacrifice to a manger's promise. Welcome to Day 2710 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2710 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 85:8-13 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2710 Wisdom-Trek: The Divine Harmony of Grace and Truth - Concluding Our Trek Through Psalm 85:8-13 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2710 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Today, we reach the powerful conclusion of our conversation in Psalm 85, covering verses 8 through 13 in the New Living Translation. In our last trek, we explored the first half of this poignant communal lament. We heard the people's prayer for revival, anchored in God's past faithfulness: "You have restored the fortunes of Israel," and "You have forgiven the guilt of your people" (Psalm 85:1-3). Yet, their plea was urgent, asking God to "restore us again" and to "show us your unfailing love" (Psalm 85:4, 7). They were caught in the "in-between," that painful gap between the miracle of the return from exile and the full, glorious reality of true national revival. Now, the psalmist shifts from pleading to listening, confident that God will speak peace and provide the perfect vision for their complete restoration. This final section beautifully describes how God's saving presence will transform the land and the people, bringing a divine harmony where love and truth, justice and peace, meet and embrace. This vision of God's saving power is the glorious answer to their cry for restoration. So, let's open our hearts to this prophetic promise, recognizing the divine symmetry that only God can orchestrate. This first section it titled, The Promise of Peace and the Meeting of Virtues (Psalm 85:8-11) I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to foolish ways. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! The psalmist makes a conscious, deliberate choice here to stop pleading and start listening: "I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people." This is a pivotal moment in any lament! After pouring out our anxiety and our fears, the next step is to quiet our souls and incline our ear towards the divine. The psalmist expresses confidence that God will speak "peace" (shalom), which, in the Hebrew worldview, is not just the absence of conflict, but total well-being, harmony, and wholeness. This promise of shalom is conditional: "But let them not return to foolish ways." God's people must actively participate in their own revival. The restoration is offered, but they must choose to walk away from the spiritual "foolish ways" that led to their former suffering. The warning is clear: true peace requires sustained obedience and...
