We're back!!!! I have MISSED this podcast so much! The routine of it all, being in a flow state while editing, I missed everything about it. As you may have seen on the HLP instagram, I took a little break because it was all just getting to be too much. We were planning a wedding, working full time jobs, dealing with every day life and I realized I didn't want this to be a half effort thing. I love this podcast and if I'm doing it, I want to give it my all. After a much needed break, I'm back with a Honey Lemon Shot, accompanied by my now husband (ew) Lendall. We talk about our post wedding reflections, some tips for those maybe taking that next step and we talk about important decisions we made not just with the wedding but with life moving forward. One of them being that I decided to stop drinking over a year ago. Life after marriage is... drum roll please.. exactly the same! I'm not mad about it though. Hope you enjoy this episode!Want more Honey Lemon?Follow us on IG @thehoneylemonpodThis podcasts features music created by Mod8rn Sounds.Don't forget to rate, review, subscribe and do all those lovely wonderful things if you want to support the pod and support me!

Another honey lemon shot but this time we have my fiance joining me because in this episode we're diving deep into our couples therapy experience. This was something I had been wanting to do with my partner Len for years but he had major reservations about it. I thought it was important to talk about why we decided couples therapy was right for us but also how we both gave each other space to be ready for it.Len also discusses in depth why he was so against therapy at the beginning and how his thoughts have changed. Most importantly he came to these conclusions on his own and in his own time. Have you been to couples therapy or even individual therapy? When I came back from vacation I had quite a few people messaging me and telling me in person they were surprised that I went away with my parents and actually didn't pull my hair out? I was actually surprised myself but in a good way! This trip really made me see my parents and their relationship in a different light. I was able to appreciate them a little more and I even felt like I understood them a bit better. If you've ever felt like the child that needs to be the mediator or the third parent, you'll resonate with this episode. Hey everyone!  Thanks for tuning in and being patient with me.  I was actually supposed to release a solo episode last week but my family suffered a very sudden loss. My cousin Delicia passed on from this world at a whopping 22 years of age. I talked a little bit about it at the beginning of this episode and it's a strange but poetic coincidence that this week's episode is very much centered around grief and how sometimes beautiful things can come out of that space with time.   My cousin was an amazing person and this episode is dedicated to her.  If you want to learn more about her story you can do so here.  As an accomplished singer and musician it is her family's wish to set up a scholarship in her name.  If you feel so moved to contribute it would mean the world. Now to introduce this week's guest! Taegan Maclean is a Writer/filmmaker exploring his life and the world around him one word at a time.  He created his deeply personal and insightful newsletter titled One Word  in 2022 and he took on the ambitious task of adapting it into a monthly video docuseries format this year. I think his story really shows what can happen when you are truly aligned with a passion project and lean into your most vulnerable self.  Grief is a difficult thing and we all get through it differently.  Taegan was open about his struggles grieving the loss of his father which ultimately shaped the creator he is today.Find Taegan's One Word  Newsletter featuring his full collection of written pieces and his video series here.  His latest documentary titled Woodbine, is a beautiful love letter of sorts to his father and I encourage you all to grab a hot beverage and take it in!  Find One Word on Tiktok here.Find One Word on Youtube here.Want more Honey Lemon?Follow us on IG @thehoneylemonpodThis podcasts features music created by Mod8rn Sounds.Don't forget to rate, review, subscribe and do all those lovely wonderful things if you want to support the pod and support me!
