Thanks for tuning in to another episode of the Rite of Passion Podcast. I am bring to you the second segment of "What I'm Reading". I want to share with you a book that I have read multiple times over the last two years, and the only negative thing I can say is I wish I would have read it sooner. The book for today is "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. The book is described as a guidebook for the simple and life-changing concepts such as: a simple way to make a good first impression, how to criticize other people, an easy way to become a good conversationalist, what to do when nothing else works, making people glad to do what you want, and more. Personally, this book has made me a more confident conversationalist, helped me learn how to make a great first impression, and how to be a respected and impactful leader. I hope the key ideas in this book resonate with you, and who knows, this book may be added to your own list! If you enjoy today's episode I encourage you to go listen to my previous episodes as well! Welcome back to another episode of the Everyday Podcast. Today I am sharing a new solo series, "What I'm Reading". No guest today, instead, I want to introduce you all to some of the books I've read over the past year that have had a significant impact on myself. This series may inspire you to pick up one of these books for yourself, or even pick up the reading you've been putting off for awhile. The first book I want to share is I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi. Ramit is a personal finance advisor and entrepreneur. His book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, is a 2009 New York Times Best Seller. He has taught thousands how to manage their finances through his book and his websites. This book is not a "get rich quick scheme". It is the complete opposite. Ramit wants others to identify what their rich life is, and teach them how to make their money work for them to allow them to live that rich life. The recommendations Ramit makes in his book are simple, easy, and effective. This book allowed me to gain more confidence in my finances and taught me not only how to manage my money, but how I should feel about my money as well. I am on the way to live my rich life. Remember to follow me on Instagram @theverydaypodcast to stay connected, and follow me on Spotify to make sure you never miss an episode. Today on the show I have David Clark. David is a junior at the University of Delaware studying management and marketing. David was the founding president of the Pi Kappa Alpha Colony. He is also a student ambassador, a tour guide, and a World Scholar which allows him to study abroad twice during his four years as an undergraduate. One one of those trips to Rome, David fell in love with food. It was this new love for food that developed his passion to open his own restaurant and brewery, "Blue Shed Brewery". David and I discuss the steps he is taking to pursue his passion, as well as what the quarantine has looked for both of us. What does it mean to "own your quarantine". Well, David and I speak to the things many people are doing, or not doing, during the lockdown, and whatever they are doing is right for them. Everyone's quarantine activities will not be the same. What are you doing during quarantine? Are you still working? Did you start a side-hustle or learn a new skill? Or are you simply taking this time to slow down and take care of yourself? All are great ways to spend your time. I hope you have enjoyed the show so far, and please feel free to connect with me on Instagram and share your feedback.
