We discuss the metaphysical doctrines that made warrior cultures so fearesome, as well the need for a relationship with the metaphysical born our of our material actions.

On this episode Jared and I discussed the shift from Pre-Enlightenment Metaphysical Hierarchies based on Divine right to rule, Power and Martial Prowess to Post-Enlightenment Egalitarian rooted Economic Social Hierarchies of Liberalism and the Class abolitionism of Marxism. We also discuss the deterioration of art and innovation in a consumer society.

Today we discussed the philosophy and psychology behind the nature of man and its roots in early human history. We discuss the proper balance between factors of order and chaos in order to maintain the stability of a State and lead individuals towards fulfillment in life. We go on many tangents and still have a lot to discuss in the upcoming part 2.

Today I was joined by Austin Staudenraus, we discussed a variety of issues facing modern society, the potential negative ramifications they could lead to, plus other thoughts concerning a variety of topics and tangents. This was the longest episode to date, with parallels to a variety of different schools of philosophy.

Today's episode was about Sun Tzu's the Art of War. We covered the historical background and the first 8 chapters, especially in relation to the modern Chinese military and 21st century conflicts. We hope to continue delving into the book in future episodes as there is so much rich content to analyze.

I had the privilege of speaking with my Alex Lewis. A good friend of mine and fellow podcaster (he is the host of the All Might-Y Podcast). We discussed a variety of topics including Stoicism, issues regarding the nature of modern living in developed countries (the decline of physical/labor intensive jobs replaced by 9-5 sitting at a desk office jobs), mental health issues relating to modern lifestyles, the need for physical fitness, dopamine regulation, hyper stimuli and much more. Today's episode was mainly focused on rationalist philosophy since we ran out of time to cover Empiricism so we'll have to cover it next week. From Ancient to Continental to potential Modern rationalists, we analyzed the importance of exercising reasoning and critical thinking as well as understanding how we come to conclusions and obtain knowledge. Hey guys today's episode was about Bruce Lee, his life, philosophies and his book the Tao of Jeet Kune Do. We had the privilege of being joined by our friend Jason Dick who is a Kuk Sool Won and TKD black belt. We all were very passionate about this episode as martial artists and hope you enjoy it! We found a lot of parallels between Lee and Musashi, their works echoing each other frequently. Although we didn't explicitly compare them, many of Bruce Lee's ideas possess almost Stoic flairs to them, with considerable Eastern influence. Show less

This episode we delve into Miyamoto Musashi's most influential work, The Book of 5 Rings and discuss its contributions to Martial Arts and life as a whole. We found many parallels between this work with Bruce Lee's the Tao of Jeet Kune Do as well as Sun Tzu's the Art of War. We also made some comparisons to modern mixed martial arts and fighters adopting Musashi's teachings such as Conor McGregor. We hope you enjoy the episode it was a lot of fun to make.

This episode was a little bit more open ended and disorganized given the difficulty of covering something as complex as The Prince. This was more of a conversation between Brandon and I but we cover some interesting parallels between Machiavelli's works and current events. Once we get into more of his works we'll surely revisit The Prince and Machiavelli as a whole. There's too much to cover in The Prince for one episode so this is more of an analysis on current and historical events through a Machiavellian lens.

We also compare it to Stoicism and the compatibility Stoicism has in Christian Morality. As Christians my co-host Brandon and I discuss what can be extracted from Stoicism to build stronger roots in faith + enhance our own core beliefs. Later on we delve into some issues that have arisen with a more epicurean outlook in the United States that could potentially signal a Roman like fall in the next few decades.
