Welcome to We Do That, a TAZ Fancast! Each episode Jake, Chris, and Colin discuss The Adventure Zone. This is meta-podcasting at its finest. Join the guys as they discuss the newest episode, throw out predictions for the future of TAZ, and make the worst jokes! Episodes come out every Thursday, afte…
We made it everyone! It's the end of Amnesty, the end of an era. It's been quite a journey for us and The McElroys. For all our gripes, of which we had many, we're sad to see Amnesty go. We're very excited about what's next for TAZ, and whats next for We Do That! Join us as the adventure continues! Thanks for listening!
We liked this one. And on further reflection, we rally liked this one! Join us as we explore the journey that Aubrey Little & Co. they'll get names when they become planets) embark on to save their world and their friends. We're in the endgame now folks. Thanks for listening!
I think we're getting a little punchy as Amnesty draws to a close. The McElroys seem to be putting even more effort in as the story goes and we...well...we're not, not trying. We had a very productive discussion on fire doors. Chris proposed that the FBI start Overwatch and Fortnite teams. And we debated the merits of just letting everyone die. Thanks for listening!
It's almost the end times! join us for another exciting (?) discussion of The Adventure Zone. Griffin is clearly leading us to the finally, will our favorite characters make it? Which gang will really save the town? Can we maintain our enthusiasm for 2-ish more episodes? It's true edge of your seat thrill over here at We Do That. Thanks for listening!
As Amnesty comes to a close, the gang rallies all their...friends? I think? They rally some people to fight the big final battle. We, however, have no friends to call on to help us talk the end on Amnesty, so it's just us this week. Get ready for a revamped mass-transit system, important origin story hole poking, and general goofy-ness. Thanks for listening!
A new hunt is starting! Join us for exciting The Adventure Zone discussion as we dive into the very beginning of the new hunt. We get to meet a new player character, ponder the motives of Heathcliff, and go on a fairly large tangent about Pokemon, Smash Brothers and Animorphs. Thanks for listening! Editor's note: Thanks for bearing with some audio issues on this one y'all. Our good, good boy Jake Cool Ice is feeling the heat while his AC is out in this Virginia summer. I wish it was an artistic choice to add some good, nighttime summer sounds, but that's just life. -C
The Adventure Zone is reaching the end of the Amnesty campaign, so it seems a good time to look back on how far we've journeyed through Kepler. Also, the McElroys did a clip show, so it's required. Join us on this walk down memory lane and relive all the stuff we totally forgot happened in the last 28 episodes. Thanks for listening!
Holy cow everyone, have we got a treat from you. It's officially pilot season, and we've got a fresh new comedy that's dying to be on your must watch TV list. Tune in for the antics of Deputy Dewey and Ned "Dead" Chicane as they try to solve another wacky mystery, from beyond to grave! If only, right? It's just us, back with more TAZ discussion. Amnesty is wrapping up (we think?) and Griffin and the Pine Guard are making sure we have plenty to talk about. Thanks for listening!
It's a live show week, so you know what that means: directionless discussion and lots of good(?) filler humor. Join us for this week's TAZ discussion where we talk proper buffet order, live show expectations, and ways counting doesn't work. Thanks for listening!
This was a big episode everybody and boy do we have some thoughts. It seems like just when we're building to the huge conclusion, the McElroys had to go and trow us a curve ball. Will the Pine Guard ever get back together? Will Duck be reunited with his alien(?) mentor? If you have to roll in the past, is the present still real? What can we trust anymore!? Join us for all this and more on this week's discussion of The Adventure Zone! Content Warning: Chris tries to sing... Thanks for listening! @wedothat_pod wedothatpod at gmail.com
As if to put us in our place, the McElroys really turned up the adventure in this week's The Adventure Zone. We could barely get all our thoughts out in this weeks discussion! There are lots of exciting twists, old plot lines finally being wrapped up, and it feels like we're heading full steam for the finale episodes. We also postulate that maybe it's time for a Pine Guard re-brand. Thanks for listening!
This hunt is coming to an end...we think. I think in this moment I'm supposed to say "Things are heating up in the sleepy ski town of Kepler" but based on this discussion, we don't know what's going on. Join us as we discuss all the things we don't understand and all our failings to understand the McElroy's genius. Or maybe we're just a little salty. Thanks for listening!
What a ride! We love Duck's sense of adventure. This episode of The Adventure Zone has all the action we could ask for, and all the questionable GM decisions Colin craves. Join us while we figure out just when Ned is, where magic comes from, and what else holds up Duck's pants. Thanks for listening!
We got another great live episode this week from the McElroys, which means we don't have a lot to discuss. When they bring such greatness, who needs us? We have noticed an interesting trend with our favorite deals warlock though... I read an article that said lots of Instagram influencers will do fake ads for things to make themselves seem more popular. We decided to try to get in on that game. I don't think you're supposed to do fake ads for fake products though? Would you buy a combo coffee pot/shower head? Thanks for listening everyone!
Okay everybody, this is getting intense. We have a real monster to hunt now, and there's a lot of dice rolling happening. This means lots of poorly thought through plans that make excellent podcast discussions. Join us as we dive into Episode 23 of The Adventure Zone - Amnesty. We all agree the McElroys are at their finest when luck is their 5th party member. We're getting really into this hunt, be sure to let us know if you are as well! @wedothat_pod on Twitter wedothatpod@gmail.com
It's the little moments that really make TAZ special, and this episode was full of them. We discuss all our favorite moments, and minor critiques, of the newest Amnesty episode. There's a lot of meat on this recent episodes, and we're so glad you've decided to join us. Thanks for listening!
Well, they reeled(most) of us back in. This new hunt is shaping up to be a good one, and we are so here for it. This episode was so good we are also now starting licensing talks for several spin-off shows. There's stories for days in here. Enjoy! It occurs to me that the above could be read to be referencing our episode. Our episode is normal amount of good. TAZ was very, very good. Thanks for listening!
We're back talking about Amnesty, and it feels so good! Well, it feels pretty good. We spend a lot of this episode discussing vowels, so our hearts might not be in it yet. We'll get there. Thanks for listening!
Thexus and Nald have saved Scrooge from the first ghost, but you all know how this story goes. Will the power of their delicious, and unavailable, hams be enough to counter the present and future? How many other animals can Colin imitate? Find out in the thrilling conclusion! We owe a very special Candlenights thank you to Sean Hannifin for allowing us to use his composition, Cornish Wassail, in our episode this week. Sean is a music composer, programmer, and writer of fantasy and science fiction. If you like what you heard, check out out his work at Wizard Walk . Thank you Sean! And thank you, everyone, for listening to our Candlenights special. We hope our self indulgence was somewhat entertaining, and we wish everyone a wonderful start to 2019. We three can't wait for the next Right Thursday to get our TAZ fix again, and we hope you'll join us the next week for our...well-researched?...discussion. Maybe tell a friend too? Happy Candlenights!
Its the greatest, and least predictable, season of all, Candlenights!
It's the finale of The Great Tree Hunt in Amnesty! Join us as we deliver our hot and fresh takes on this portion of The Adventure Zone, and maybe commiserate with us as we debate the McElroys future plans for the series. We're all feeling a little down this week, but we're holding out for a hero, just like Johnny 5. I really hope it's Leo. Thanks for listening!
The Adventure Zone resumes their Amnesty adventure, and we are so excited to spend some more time with the Pine Guard. In this week's episode we discuss the content of a Park Ranger entrance exam, how one acquires oversized snow vehicles, and what does "dead" really mean? Thanks for listening!
And we're live! Well, they're live, we're still just talking into an old timey tape recorder. We discuss The Adventure Zone's spoooooky live ep, and a whole lot more. Actually, this week's discussion strays pretty far for the live episode. Join us, won't you?
The Amnesty adventure continues! We're here to give Jake a forum to explain to Chris how clues are important for the story and other salient facts about mysteries. It's a wild ride on this week's The Adventure Zone and as a trio we experienced most of it. I wonder what it's like to do a show where everyone paid attention to the source material? Must be nice...I'll try harder. Thanks for listening!
We're finally back to an Amnesty episode and boy are we excited to get upset about it again. We've got some new ideas for Heathcliff and wild theories about where to get magic help in your town. Thanks for listening!
It' s a live episode this week, so we get to go rogue and talk about whatever we want, apparently. Should the McElroys keep Balance as the default live show setting, or is it time to move on? We, of course, all disagree. Thanks for listening!
Listen, we're really enjoying this monster hunt, but seriously, 6 minutes? We've got to have a talk with our friend, DM and...goat herder, Griffin. We're trying something new, aiming for a shorter episode this time around. Let us know what you think! We want to give you as much, or as little, of our nonsense as you can stand! Twitter: @wedothat_pod E-mail: wedothatpod@gmail.com
We're hitting our stride again as our heroes continue their adventure in Kepler. And by stride, I mean continued to by stymied by "Big Pizza". We try to understand, what Clint understands, about what Ned understands, about jet pack physics. We're pretty sure it's nothing. And a big surprise this week! We've got some concerns about the narrative structure of the show! Jake is already rolling his eyes. He's so patient. Thanks for listening!
The McElroys are back on the hunt, and so are we! Except we're hunting for that one copy of the rule book we had a while ago and really should have read. Join us as we get into the details on Amnesty Episode 14, discuss our new predictions for what our monster will be and dive into the McElroys roleplaying choices. And get excited for a new "mini series within a podcast" the Justin McElroy Appreciation Zone!
⚓ We thoroughly enjoyed the McElroys adventure on the High Seas! It's a shorter episode this week, because we spent all our good talking energy on shouting "Ahoy!" at each other. We have no self control. Thanks to you, dear listener, for putting up with our nonsense. #ahoy
Woo-boy everybody, this one is tough. The Adventure Zone has reached the end of the second hunt in Amnesty, and we have some feelings about what the McElroys put out this week. Chris and Colin have some very strong opinions about how the team spends their time post-hunt. Spoilers - they're not super happy. Get ready for some exciting discussions about future monsters, the importance of soup, and whether a Mighty Ducks/Air Bud/Karate Kid crossover could work.
We've made it to the end of the hunt, time get get some answers! Where was Momma? How's Dr. Bonkers? What's Pidgeon's preferred footwear? So much to discuss in this week's episode! The hunt part of this episode was a bit straightforward, so the guys took the long road to get there. Get ready for a lot of, mostly relevant, side tracks and a whole lot of little things that have been bothering us. Remember, how would bait act?
We're getting close to the end of the hunt and that means it's improv night at Amnesty Lodge. The guys discuss the wild water park creations of the The Pineguard and the logistics of municipal water system. Chris has some trouble with numbers...again. They rejoice at the return of swim kid, but question Griffin's bona fides as a lodge/hot spring designer. So...you know...they love it, but boy do they have questions. I found this fun guide to Waterpark Design! You should always make sure guests walk to the ride, then slide back. Genius! Always consult your local Bureau of Recreation before constructing your waterpark. Slide on friends! (™, ™, ™)
We're back talking about Amnesty! Or, trying to. Talking a month off from the Amnesty plot meant our brains are a little rusty, but we tried. We've got all the hits though: Jake sings, Colin is surly, Chris is exasperated. Some surprises too, Chris agree with Colin, Jake doesn't pound on the table! All this and more in We Do That Episode 19. Make sure to check out your local balloon festival! Here's a list! Apologies for the audio quality on this one, with some of us traveling and some technical issues, this isn't our best material. We'll do better, I promise!
Start your engines, the McElroys are returning to Battle Wagon racing! The guys are super excited to talk about this very very good episode of The Adventure Zone. The episode is so good, we ran out of things to say, so just a baby episode for your enjoyment this week. The guys run through their favorite moments of the newly legal racing series and take some time to reflect on some broader TAZ thoughts. We've got a pitch for The Adventure Zone TV show, and postulate on the alternative timelines THB could have entered if they just kept their word. Enjoy!
TAZ is back on Right Thursday and they're doing some great work. Such great work, that we spend a lot of this episode on non-TAZ content. Brace yourselves, this one rambles. The guys spend some time solving physics problems no one cares about. Chris forgets some numbers exist. Jake worries about his good good boy...who is probably not a werewolf. Programming Note: We're moving to Wrong Thursday to space things out a bit more for ourselves and hopefully help y'all cope with the return to bi-weekly TAZ. Let us know how it feels!
The guys dive (heh) into the 2nd episode of season 2! We discuss the finer points of diving technique, South Dakota politics, and thermodynamics. Also, fun with sound effects, and live VO! The McElroys are really finding their groove in the new season of The Adventure Zone: Amnesty, and we're super excited to be along for the ride! Also, as promised: Scatman's World Warning, this video is...well, it's a trip. Let us know on Twitter if you have feelings about when We Do That should be released. With TAZ settling into a groove, we want to find ours. Maybe I should ask Stella?
We're back in Kepler for Season 2! The guys are super excited, apparently too excited to remember names and things! Get ready for in depth discussions of "swim kid" and "the pool room". With all the TAZ talk out of the way, can we interest you in an exciting new income opportunity? Work from home for just a few hours a week! It's great, I swear. Thanks for joining us on this journey.
The guys talk about the McElroys talking about TAZ. I know this is a meta-fancast, but this is getting ridiculous. WE dive into our reactions to some answered questions, reflect on what we love about TAZ and hope for the new season, and try to cheer Colin up.
We're going back to Kepler for Season 2! The guys...they have opinions. Who's surprised? We discuss our hopes and fears for Season 2, thoughts on the next TTAZZ, and maybe lay the groundwork for the great TAZ fancast mega-podcast. Enjoy!
They went and pulled the rug out from under us, Dust is over! The guys discuss the value of B roll in podcasts, the best letters (and when to use them), and a whole lot of bad predictions for the future of TAZ. Lets go!
Gandy, Augustus and Errol are getting closer to solving the murder...we think. They certainly are talking to people and going places. The guys dive into Dust Episode 3 to discuss the politics of Carrion Street, proper point and click adventure play, and the useful(less)ness of secret rulez.
We took a little detour this week to discuss the finer points of SyFy's writer's room, where one might find Atlanta, and banking. Sorry Florida.
Well, the guys were bad listeners this week, so get ready for tangents! How do ghosts move? Where does Augustus' body end? Will someone ever tell us the rulez? Things are starting to get serious in Dry River. Never fear, dear listener, we are not.
The guys want to know more about the rulezzzz. When are we, why are we? Do ghosts die? And, why root beer? All this and more in our discussion the the first episode of Dust! Also, would people buy a podcast sampler? Asking for a friend...
We're diving into the new TAZ arc with Travis at the helm. We're super excited to talk about the characters and the world the McElroys are building for this mini-arc.
We're going way back this week! The guys dive into the first ever TAZ live episode. Time to get nostalgic and plan our own wrestling characters!
We've reached the end of Amnesty, or have we? This week, the guys discuss more marketing tips, rental car policies, and top tracks when composing a montage. You don't want to miss a minute! Also, all the good stuff from the Amnesty finale and our exciting predictions for the next arc, Dust. Enjoy!
Just 2 episodes left in the Amnesty mini-arc! The guys discuss marketing options, Quantum leap Spin-offs, and TAZ merchandising ideas.
The guys discuss wildlife, practical fire magic, and a lack of good Stargate podcasts.
The guys dive into Amnesty Episode 2. More monsters, more adventure, less sleep for Jake. Enjoy!
