Chapter 3 of Megamorphs 2, part 18.5 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. Thanks for listening!
Cyrus and Sarah are back at it again in the Animorphs mines, this time covering books thirty-four through thirty-seven, and things are getting....well, kind of mid, to be honest. Except for the torture. The torture is great. Dive in to hear our intrepid readers arguing about the Goo Goo Dolls for what seems like forever, a whole lot of talk about the SAW franchise, and, unfortunately, a load-bearing bit about Scurvy the cat's nether regions. Don't say I didn't warn you. Support the show
Chapter 2 of Megamorphs 2, part 18.5 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. You might be wondering why the cover art for this book is extra fancy with multiple color border. Well, that's because, when this book was released, there were SIX different versions of the cover! One for each of the cast, and which had a full-page mid-morph portrait on the second page. (Side-note: There's also a seventh multi-color version that is the current e-book cover.) Anyway, I wanted to pay homage to them all, so I put all the colors in. I originally planned to put them in narrator order (Jake-purple, Rachel-green, Tobias-violet, Cassie-blue, Marco-red, Ax-orange), but the colors didn't pop well, so I mixed them up a little. Thanks for listening!

Chapter 1 of Megamorphs 2 - In the Time of Dinosaurs, part 18.5 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. Summary: An incident with a nuclear sub sends the Animorphs back to the past. Way back. Like, Cretaceous Period back. Now, not only are they in a desperate fight for survival against creatures that none of their morphs can handle, they also have no idea how to undo the Sario Rip and get back to the present. "We all need to have radical hope. I have my really hopeless days too, but… it's such a privilege to get to live and to survive. Our job is to live, and I think that's a really amazing thing.” - Jasmine WargaWe all want to make the most of our time here. Not just survive, but dream big and live fully. For Jasmine Warga, that means carrying forward the strength of those before her while creating space for joy, curiosity, and self-discovery. It means letting go of perfection, holding on to radical hope, and writing stories that reflect kids' realities. Jasmine Warga is a Newbery Honor winner and New York Times bestselling author of Other Words for Home, The Shape of Thunder, A Rover's Story, and more. Her work explores identity, belonging, and how being different can be what unites us. In this episode, Our Job is to Live: Jasmine Warga on Belonging and Radical Hope, Jasmine shares what it was like growing up as a mixed kid and daughter of an immigrant in Ohio, her lightbulb moment while teaching sixth grade, and how Animorphs, surrealist art and a dash of Virginia Woolf shaped not only her voice as a writer, but also her commitment to living joyfully, and spreading joy to others.***For her reading challenge, Read Global, Jasmine invites adult readers to step outside the familiar and read more broadly, beyond their own borders.Peruse selected titles and Jasmine's full reading challenge for free at thereadingculturepod.com/jasmine-wargaThis week's Beanstack Featured Librarian is Cassie Owens Moore, a middle school librarian in South Carolina at Seneca Middle School. Chapter 29, the final chapter of The Decision, part 18 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. This is the second of two chapters uploaded today. Make sure you get both! Also, great news: the next part of Animorphs Aloud is Megamorphs #2, and it is already finished! I worked on it a year and half ago so that Sam on Reddit could have it for her Animorphs reviews. This was before we knew if there would be official audiobooks for the specials, and we didn't want Sam to have to skip them and come back. I am still going to upload it at the standard 'chapter every two days' pace so that I can focus on my professional contracts for now. I hope you look forward to it! Thanks for listening!

Chapter 26 of The Decision, part 18 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. I was very, very torn about two lines of dialogue near the end of the chapter. In the text, Jake says, and Ax answers, . But I couldn't help but feel that's a typo and that they should have been switched, with Ax asking the question and Jake answering. I went back and forth and back and forth on it. At last, I left it as it was, but I'd love to hear what y'all's opinions are - should I change it? Which makes more sense, character-wise? Thanks for listening!
We are here at the climax of this book, and as usual, things get funky. Sam and Alex do a switch-a-roo on Thrym. Erin claims that Rick stole from Animorphs, again. The ceremony is at a secret second venue, Loki's cavern! Nothing says wedding like ominous bubbling liquids and a man being poisoned. Loki frees himself from his chains, and the Aesir gods show up just in time to not be very useful. At least Thor gets his hammer back. Magnus makes a hard case against jigsaw puzzles. Manasa makes a case against Boggle again. Erin comes down hard against... Crocs? Only one more episode to go for Hammer of Thor! Chapter 21 of The Decision, part 18 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. Chapter 21 of The Decision, part 18 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. A long-awaited update! Part of the reason I took so long is because I went back and forth and back and forth on how the Leerans should sound in this chapter. See, in their previous appearance back in book 15, the Leeran used vocal sounds combined with a different type of mental voice than thought-speak (distinguished by underlined text rather than bracketed). In this chapter, and in a couple other places, it's the regular bracketed thought-speak. I thought at first maybe it was a typo, and it's meant to be the other kind of mental dialogue? But nope, there's plenty of underelined dialogue, too. So then I wondered if the thoughtspeak was more just the Yeerks' voices, as only they use it. If so, should they have a slightly different voice than their Leeran host? I recorded a couple of different options; but in the end, I went with the Leeran inflections I used before, combined with my standard thought-speak effect. Hopefully, that's ok! (Also, life has been really busy this week! Shout-out to my parents' elderly dog, whom I watched while they were out of town, and who regularly woke me up in the middle of the night to go outside, even when she didn't need to pee, and thus making me tired all over again. -_- ) Thanks for listening!
Folks, we've accomplished our mission. We've discussed every piece of Animorphs media we could feasibly get our hands on, and then some. Now, our journey is at an end. Chapter 20 of The Decision, part 18 of Animorphs Aloud, a fan-produced read-aloud version of the Animorphs series. Let's face it - Animorphs is a little bit... silly. Sure, we love the series, but that doesn't mean we can't poke fun at it too! Her human name is Eva. There was a time when she had a loving husband and a son, Marco. When she had a wonderful career. But that was before she was infested by Edriss 562. Before the invasion of Earth. Now, Edriss 562 lives in Eva's head and controls her every movement. And through Eva, Edriss has become the highest-ranking general in the Yeerk empire, surpassing even her arch rival, Visser Three. She is Visser One. But, it has become known that Visser One's tactics for attaining her current position were less than acceptable -- even to the Yeerks. Now she is on trial for treason. If she's found innocent she'll continue to rule. But if she's found guilty, she'll lose her life -- and possibly the life of her host, Eva. Which will mean that Marco will never, ever see his mother again... -- Audiomorphs is an Animorphs podcast which is actually not so much a podcast as a bootleg Animorphs audiobook. The kids wade in the ocean, watching the world end. Then they go home to watch TV. Does KA Applegate know where this series is going or is she making it up as she goes? Why do Ax and Tobias both always seem to possess mysterious knowledge to which the other Animorphs (and the readers) don't have access? Ax always about the broader universe, while Tobias seems to gained a cynical, almost adult wisdom through becoming a Nothlit. How bad does Chris want to see two T-Rexes make out? The Animorphs encounter the Mercora, a lovable, crablike people attempting to build a home on Earth, and immediately become conscripted into someone else's war. What does the introduction of the Mercora tell us about the series' stance on nonviolence? Is Cassie doomed to be hardened to violence and harming others over the course of this series? Is Tobias inevitably going to become an Alloran type, willing to sacrifice the well-being of the few for the needs of the many?
