Picture a liquid robot that's like a superhero for disaster zones – it can squeeze through tight spots, adapting its shape to navigate complex terrains. This innovative tech could be a game-changer in rescue missions, reaching areas where traditional robots struggle. The magnetic slime robot may look kind of disgusting and frightening, but it definitely is game-changing! The blob-like robot is made of a water-soluble synthetic polymer, borax, and magnet particles. Ecocapsules are a hundred percent self-sustainable living pods that give you the freedom to place them wherever you like and to live off-grid without causing any harm to nature. These and other techs have the potential to save the world! It is beauty that moves the human soul. Whether through a piece of art, sound, or the vastness of the night sky, we are drawn toward creation, toward wonder, toward something beyond ourselves. It is curiosity. It is innovation. It is communion. Beauty is directly connected to our existence. Before we know God as provider, healer, comforter, savior…In Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created…”. He introduces himself first as “Creator”.What God does next is perhaps his most adventurous and riskiest creation, the introduction of Human Choice. Our ability to create came from Him, what we create is on the other side of choice. It is because of this we decide what we bring into this world and what it reflects. There is too much sickness in this world to not create beautyThere is too much mental illness in this world to not create and innovateThere is too much war in this world to not create beautyThere is way too much corruption in this world to not createThere is too much meaninglessness in this world to not create beautyThere is too much hopelessness in this world to not createThere is too much brokenness in the world around us to not create and innovateOur Culture is too broken to not create, innovate or bring beauty in this world. Meet Hawah Kasat -- who gave a startling TEDx talk on How Greed Could Save the World. What??? Isn't greed what's destroying the world? In a world that is crumbling between our fingers, is it possible that traditional non-profits are actually distracting us from solving the underlying problems that make them needed in the first place? Hawah invites us to reflect more deeply on whether we are spending our time and energy effectively. What if we fundamentally rethink what nonprofits and businesses look like? What if we start with the premise that helping a few struggling people when millions are suffering is not good enough? What if we get more greedy and stop being content with anything less than lasting, systems-level change?Hawah has dedicated his life to teaching about solutions to violence and ways to peace. He is Founder of “One Common Unity,” a non-profit that inspires a culture of non-violence through music, arts, and education. Author of 4 books, he produced 4 documentary films (including the acclaimed “Fly By Light”), 2 musical CDs, and is the creator/editor of “The Poetry of Yoga” book anthology featuring Grammy award-winning musicians and master yoga teachers. In 2019, Hawah was the recipient of Georgetown University's “Legacy of a Dream” award honoring an inspirational emerging leader whose work embodies the values and spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.Hawah also interviewed David Gallup of the World Citizen Government on his podcast The Everlutionary Podcast!hawahkasat.com--- See the video and ask questions of future guests at: theworldismycountry.com/club Music by: „World Citizen“ Jahcoustix feat. Software is eating the world, right? We've all heard this phrase by now, but inventor and investor Pablos Holman has something important to add: “The world can't eat software.”That's why Pablos focuses on “deep tech”, i.e. how to invent new solutions to real world problems like energy, water, waste, construction, and sanitation. Pablos says we're still mostly using version 1.0 technology for these fundamental systems, but recent advances, including AI and the ability to prototype and test in software, are enabling incredible innovation in hardware.Pablos has worked with Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and more. He's kind of a mad scientist and in this episode we'll discuss things that sound like science fiction, but that Pablos says are coming soon, such as solar panels in outer space that can beam clean energy down to earth, autonomous cargo ships blown by the wind across the ocean, and tiny nuclear reactors buried a mile underground that power the world above. At Deep Future, Pablos is on a mission to solve the world's biggest problems, and he's hoping more people will make the jump that he did from software to hardware and into deep tech, because, as he says, “ all the people who've been building software their entire career, those are the ones who are going to save the world.”—More on Pablos: Deep Future: https://deepfuture.tech/Deep Future podcast: https://deepfuture.tech/podcast-index/ —Support CRAFTED.:Sign up for the CRAFTED. newsletter: https://www.crafted.fmSubscribe to CRAFTED. on your favorite podcast platformShare this episode with a friend or colleague!

JFD is back to help you ease into November and this month we pay tribute to Teri Garr by taking a look at three of the goofiest entries in her filmography. Up first, OG SNL writer Tom Schiller directs a short for Cinemax Comedy Experiment in 1988 titled Flapjack Floozie starring Teri Garr as a turn-of-the-century singer with and addiction for pancakes that almost spells her demise. Then, the director of License to Drive and the writers of Bill and Ted tell the tale of a boring middle-aged suburban couple (the disgraced Jeffrey Jones and the wonderful Teri Garr) who are kidnapped by an alien dictator (Jon Lovitz) in the visually impressive Mom and Dad Save the World from 1992. And finally, Teri Garr plays the mother of a young boy played by Ben Savage who befriends an alien played by Sinbad, who he finds in a box of cereal and helps him defeat an intergalactic threat in the made-for-TV movie Aliens for Breakfast from 1995. All this plus Thanksgiving food rankings, partying with Metal gods, adventures at the drive-in, blu-rays to get you in the holiday spirit and so much more!LISTEN NOW!:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net.
