It's Election Day y'all. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than by having an actual politician join me in the studio for this one to talk about a handful of issues on voters minds. Desi is running for state rep here in Illinois against Democratic incumbent Sharon Chung. Here is what she has to say...Anything you wanna share pal?Support the show
Religion and spirituality is a very personal and profound part of many peoples lives. Billions of people around the world do in fact believe in the existence of a god and attribute their every success and good fortune to the divine intervention of a benevolent, all powerful being. I'm not one of those people. Why is that? Well I'm glad you asked. Anything you wanna share pal?Support the show
Madame Web is a character from the Spider-Man comics and video games. She's depicted as a blind, elderly woman bound to a life-support chair due to a degenerative disease she had. Despite this, she posses clairvoyance- the ability to see into the future and ultimately change it- using it to help Spider-Man avoid the dangers his spidey-senses can't pick up on.Now take that concept, throw it and any direct reference to Spider-Man in the trash, cast the lady from 50 Shades of Grey as the titular character, throw in heavy product placements from Pepsi and you've got yourself the worst movie I've seen this year. Let me dig deeper and explain why. Anything you wanna share pal?Support the show
There has never been a politician- and most likely never will be- like Donald John Trump. And depending on where you land on the political spectrum that's either a very comforting or very disheartening truth. There has also never been a political movement in this country quite like the 'Make America Great Again' movement. The Republican Party (for better or worse) has not been the same since 2016.With just a few days until the 2024 Presidential Election, now seemed like as good a time as any for me to invite Rhian Fazzini- Executive Director of the College Republicans at Illinois State University- to speak on why he and so many others will be voting the way they are in this pivotal election.Anything you wanna share pal?Support the show
Joker: Folie à Deux is the sequel to the smash-hit 2019 film "Joker". I gave that movie a 10/10 for it's superb acting, story, and cinematography. Five years later we have this one. I walked into the theater already questioning if it would be a worthy sequel but still intrigued. I walked out with my suspicions confirmed. Tune in and find out. **This episode will contain spoilers so consider watching the film before hitting the play button on this.**Anything you wanna share pal?Support the show
For our first adventure together I figured we could take things a bit slow. Get to know each other. From college drop out to now being a double major in his junior year, I've come a long way. Allow me to get you up to speed on who Robbie Shorter is. Anything you wanna share pal?
Podcasting ain't new to Robbie Shorter. He used to have one a few years back but that up and disappeared. And so did he- for a while. Now he's back. And he's bringing a new little show with him so ready or not- here he comes. Take a sniff of what you're about to step into before we dive all in. New episodes every Tuesday & Friday. Anything you wanna share pal?
After almost a year trying to get this guy behind the mic, the time has finally come. Join me and my guest co-host Austin as we discuss a variety of politically polarizing subjects from the COVID 19 Vaccine to police in America to BLM and more. This is part one of what will be a several part mini series. Who's side are you on? Does it even matter? Does anything really matter anymore? Let's find out. Special Thanks to Austin "Schmitty" Schmitt for joining.
Yes I know. It's been a while. Welcome to Season 3. #TeamUkraine
Long time no see pal. Let us catch up on the news of the past and complain about stuff in true Robbie fashion. There will be some changes to how often new content is released to accommodate my schedule and frankly mood to record content. Expect at least ONE new episode once a month every month. Possibly two or three depending on how much creative juices I got flowing but my promise to myself and to you is at least ONE new episode once a month. That being said, here is your 1 episode for the month of May. Also I will be doing away with having "Seasons" of my podcast. It will literally just be in simple numerical order. Enjoy!Artwork by Brittany Fitzpatrick
A direct follow-up to my previous episode, Jeremiah is here to give his point of view of the conflict against and within the black community. Another serious topic that requires you to put on your thicker set of skin again please. Enjoy.Artwork by Brittany Fitzpatrick
Let's face it. The system is rigged. It has been for a very long time. Rigged against women. Rigged against immigrants. Rigged against the LGBTQ. Rigged against the poor. Rigged against the non-religious. Rigged against all minorities. And yes, rigged against African-Americans.While there is no denying black Americans have had to deal with all kinds injustices and discriminatory practices- as we continue to march together to a fairer and more equal country for all- I cannot turn a blind eye to the shameless and deplorable behavior within our own community. The black community. The gangs. The drugs. The guns. The thievery. The looting & rioting. The enabling of this deviance by family/friends. The reinforcement of it in music and TV. And the women- young black women- that chose to be in relationships & procreate with such individuals. Fox News may not be able to talk about it without being called racist. But I will. A hard pill to swallow, but much needed medicine if we want to redefine what it means to be black in America. Hope you're wearing thicker skin today. You'll need it. Artwork by Brittany Fitzpatrick
As Black History Month 2021 concludes, we take a look back in this special episode of the show to learn about and honor 26 lesser known but equally revolutionary African-Americans throughout history that have helped changed the game and pave the way for countless generations after them to find success and achieve greatness. This is in honor of them. Yes, Black Lives Matter.Artwork by Brittany Fitzpatrick
Thanks to companies like Disney and the Hallmark Channel, we've become accustomed to thinking that love is as simple as just meeting the right girl or guy, going for coffee together and before you know it, you're angrily married (soon to be divorced) with kids. I thought so to when I met "Sally". But she had her own agenda I wasn't meant to be a part of yet I was far too foolish to accept that. This is a story of what happens when the feelings just aren't mutual. But also a story of how I learned and grew from the experience and "Sally"... well she opted to stay in her feelings over the situation and ex-communicate me. Cheers!Artwork by KittyKat 1279@DeviantArt & Derek Powell
Taking the podcast in a slightly different direction today, Jeremiah and I are on the topic of growth. At the request of another good friend who is far more optimistic and positive than my ass, we'll discuss- impromptu no less- about different types of growth. Spiritual growth, educational growth, career growth, etc. Hope you enjoy the off the rails moments the episode took too. Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
I had been meaning to record this episode for quite some time at the request of a good friend. Now the time has come. Turn out the lights, snuggle up in your blanket and put in your earbuds if you so chose, because tonight we're taking a closer look at some popular conspiracy theories from Insider.com and getting my personal opinion on them. There are 36 of them to explore. Tonight we'll explore the first 10. Enjoy.THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE... somewhere. Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArtCopyright. I DO NOT OWN the music played in the intro. It is the property of FOX. I just really like Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
Last season I gave you a list of 10 things that piss me off from children crying in movie theaters to the existence of Jehovah Witness's. Now it's time to follow that up with another round of 10 more pet-peeves I have. You can expect this to be a recurring topic here on What's Wrong Robbie so brace yourself for a part three and four in the near future... enjoy.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
On Wednesday January 6th 2021, an army of thousands of pro-Trump protesters raided the US Capital and proceeded to unleash hell. It's time you got to hear my perspective on the situation as well as Jeremiah's. This is not a political podcast by any means but we here at the Robbie Shorter Entertainment Studios pride ourselves on not condoning violent acts of destruction on either side of the political spectrum and must draw the line especially at attacking the democratic institutions of our constitutional process of certifying a new president by engaging in an act of sedition against the federal government and its elected officials. With that being said, enjoy the show.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArtRobbie's Mic: Shure KSM8Jeremiah's Mic: Rode Procaster
Before proceeding to the next episode, have a listen to how my idiot friend nearly wrecked my expensive new boom arm and mic...

Okay I know. Been eons since I've uploaded a new episode. Sorry. Been busy with life, military and personal stuff. But fear not, I'm in the brainstorming phase of new topics to bitch about for the rest of season 2 and going forward into Season 3. You can expect new episodes whenever I feel like uploading more... Meanwhile, please enjoy this reunion between myself and an old buddy of mine from my college years, Khi. We'll learn more about her, the state of art and creative expression, and talk about the Sims. Good stuff. Check out her YouTube channel KHIAOTIC & consider showing her some love on Patreon. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbiAt8ks3k43J09y8Lw5LRgArtwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
After nearly 3 months off air, the podcast to end all others is back. Join me in the Season 2 premiere as I dive straight into the atrocities this nation has seen in just the past three weeks. You've seen the headlines. You've seen the videos. You've seen the reactions and fallout from it. Now it's time for me to step in and give my thoughts on the matter. There will be no jokes or wise-cracks in this episode folks. Wish the series premiere could have been a little more jovial than this but as a black man in the United States I have an obligation to speak up when injustice rears its ugly head and I hope that you will join me in this endeavor to educate and inform those in need of perspective or at least hear what I have to say.BLACK LIVES MATTER! TODAY. TOMORROW. AND FOREVERArtwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt.
In this final episode of WWR Season 1, Jeremiah returns as we discuss the shooting of yet another unarmed black man here in the USA and race relations as a whole. "What's Wrong Robbie?" will be taking a hiatus as I prepare new content for Season 2, which will premiere sometime later this summer or early in the fall. That's TBD. In the meantime, I want to thank my loyal listeners for the support and shares. It truly means a lot to me and I appreciate your continued support! Keep it up!Btw, stay on the lookout for mini & bonus episodes I drop here and there between now and Season 2. I'll try to keep a steady flow of content...Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArtSpecial Thanks To: ALL OF YOU!!!!
It's my turn to sit in the hot-seat of one of America's most beloved game shows! Well not really since it's just a PC flash game I found off the Internet but whatever. Absolutely no real money to be won at all but it should be fun nonetheless listening to me fail miserably several times before I finally get almost halfway through the questions only to kinda give up. Enjoy!Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
We look to teachers, coaches, pastors, counselors, and other respected members of society as people we can trust our children to gain knowledge and guidance from while their parents are at work. But what happens when that trust is betrayed and these same benevolent figures secretly have their own dark and nefarious intentions? Enter Stanley Kendall, a 54 year-old middle school mathematics teacher who had a very rated "R" conversation with who he believed to be a 13 year old boy before making a house visit. A conversation that now you too will get to hear. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!!!! KENDALL'S EXPLICIT PHONE CALL STARTS AT 2:24! SKIP TO 7:13 IF YOU'D RATHER NOT BE DISGUSTED OR CREEPED OUT TOO BADLY. Kendall died a few years ago but the threat of online children predators like him is still very much alive and well. Let's find out more on the matter from my perspective shall we...?
No real ranting to do or serious information to give on this episode. Rather, we'll be taking a look at some questions that are meant to really help a woman get to know a man. And since I'm a dude I figured I'd answer them honestly myself. A chill episode with an even more chill and new intro music to go with it. Enjoy.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
Join me for a brief chit-chat regarding my opinion on the state of our country under the during the coronavirus pandemic and some general rambling I just felt like doing. This episode is also available on YouTube if you care to see the the awesome face behind the smooth voice!Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@Deviant Art
After years of adulting has kept us apart, join me and yet another one of my closest old friends as we ramble about stuff, explain life as a telemarketer from her perspective since she was one (ewww), and talk conspiracy theories. She's spunky, energetic, and all over the place. Which is why I love her. And you shall too.
Life as we know it has been changed for the worse due to COVID-19. America is closed for business, yet as badly as most of us want things to go back to normal, you've got some real ignorant and just plain stupid people out there refusing to take the situation seriously and some shady phony salesmen out there trying to profit off the pandemic. Allow me to elaborate more in this ninth episode.
Soul sister & childhood friend of mine since 2006 Tae Watkins is here to talk about our shared hopes and dreams, reminisce about the old days as yougings, and give advice to those looking to get boo'd up. Awesome person. Now prepare to find why.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
A partial follow-up to Episode 2 during my rant about Valentine's Day, I've invited two good friends of mine who also happen to be boyfriend & girlfriend on the show to share some of their personal background, drop some valuable advice, and engage in far more PDA than I had agreed to but whatever. Not like I'm hopelessly single or nothing and don't wanna see that crap. Enjoy.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
In perhaps the most outrageous episode of WWR? I've cursed humanity with by publishing, Derek & Jeremiah are back and with the three of us all together in the same room sharing one microphone I can guarantee you you're gonna be in for one hell of ride. No script. No filter. Definitely not an episode you want the kiddos or your grandparents listening to unless you just want them to be traumatized for life or have an induced heart attack respectively. LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.From horrible movies, to an all-out roasting session, to quite a bit of sexually explicit chit-chat, to anime, to Jeremiah leaving the studio in the middle of recording this episode so he can drop a deuce, to me and Derek having an intelligent conversation, to us eventually having a not-so-intelligent conversation, I think you're gonna enjoy this particular waste of your time we'll call Episode 6.
Here's a more happy & upbeat trailer for my new podcast to share and enjoy with all of humanity. Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
Join me and another good buddy of mine with more muscle than he knows what to do with as we actually have an intelligent & stimulating discussion from issues in the black community, to law enforcement in America, to the mysterious death of Kenneka Jenkins, to the social experiment conducted by elementary school teacher Jane Elliot back in 1968 just a day after the Dr. King assassination, to some black people that seem to have forgotten they're still colored folks just cause they have wealthy white friends to the inverse of that where some white folks think they're immediately cool with black people and can totally say the N word now. Gonna be a good time.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
Here it is folks. You've been warned. The first episode in the series where I invite another human being just as disturbed and unhinged as myself to co-host. He also happens to be the artist responsible for the official logo you've seen for my podcast. Now prepare to hear the million dollar voice behind the $15 artwork. Also this entire episode was completely improvised with no script whatsoever. So I had no idea what words were going to come out of Derek's mouth until it was far too late. Should be all the more fun for ya! Enjoy! Artwork by the same dudes name you just saw in the title of this episode & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
In this introductory episode of "What's Wrong Robbie?" join me as I discuss the COVID-19 pandemic & rant about our atrocious higher education system here in the US and everything wrong with college.Follow me on my social media!Snapchat & Twitter: rshorter007Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
Everyone has pet-peeves. Ya know? Minor things that happen or things other people do that annoy you but not the end of the world. Well I'm no exception but the difference between you and I is that my pet-peeves have the potential to send me to a psychotic rage. In this episode I'll share just 10 of them with you.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1297@DeviantArt
Join me in this next episode as I discuss the Colin Kaepernick NFL controversy and explain my seething hatred for all things Valentine's Day.Artwork by Derek Powell & KittyKat1279@DeviantArt
Prepare yourself for the podcast to end all other podcast. Well not really but this trailer is still pretty awesome in my opinion. Enjoy!
