With over a decade of a long-distance friendship and accountability, Y'all Boys (Josh, Frank, Steve and Max) look to help you better yourself by hearing them better themselves.
Y’all Boys wrap up the series with an all Rose, Bud, Thorn episode and grappling with their past and future. Thank you. All of you for listening. Just because this is over #STTT never ends.
Y’all Boys sent 48 hours of voice notes deliberating in the House of Y’all about the future of the show and why it should end...
Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays / Enjoyable Time Off everybody! Grab some cocoa and put on your favorite sweater and hang out with Y’all Boys as we wrap up our 2019.
The three pillars of YBT are Brotherhood, Mental Health and $120,000 Bananas. The boys say goodbye to JuiceWRLD, Steve's got some challenges and he's also got some "challenges", Frank covers himself in the warm blanket of self-pity, Max preps himself for interrogations and Josh makes a huge formal announcement about his future in Miami.
Josh is moving some ish around so the rest of Y’all Boys are here dealing with bad traffic and recapping their Thanksgiving weeks. Come for the Challenge Check Up but stay for this extra long Rose, Bud, Thorn which includes Steve trying to drive out Los Angeles on a Sunday night post-Thanksgiving, Frank deals with some snow in a place where it shouldn’t be and Max polishes the box of his album without putting anything inside.
In a YBT first, two Boys are out due to scheduling conflicts and so New York City natives Frank and Max take the reins. Max aims at a calendar and misses, Frank does not get a proxy child and in their challenge checkups, Steve braves the Utah cold while Josh starts his standup career.
This podcast was built on the frame of friends keeping each other accountable and BOY does that really come into action this week, so get out your Christmas Tree, set up your Festivus pole and give thanks to your Kwanzaa Bush (Is that a thing? I don’t think that’s a thing…). Steve thinks about thinking about it, Max reflects on his low grades, Josh continues his journey with party favors and Frank gets into an hour long fight with egg whites.
Thanksgiving is coming up soon and the Y’all Boys are both thankful to have each other and Y’all listeners as well. We hope your Wednesdays are lovely, especially this week where Frank, along with the rallying #TeamFrank, elaborates on learned helplessness, Steve continues making connections with the elderly, Josh gets a huge phone call that bring major momentum to #TeamJosh and Max takes his sick ass on a pilgrimage.
There’s been hard weeks on Y’all Boys Talkin’ but this one was a haaaard week y’all listeners. Max is back but the flu is still there and by the end of this episode you might be thinking “Do they all have the flu? They trippin’ right now...” Josh, now officially 30 years old takes on a more mature tone but loses some points when his birthday celebration goes on for too long, Steve has a major breakthrough with one of the seniors, Max takes his time rehabbing and Frank receives a not-so-great call from his father that straps a rocket to his back.
Max has the flu, so what do we do? We follow up our goals as we’re known to do. The rhyming should stop, but I ain’t no cop, the rest of Y’all Boys head Straight to the….middle. It’s been a tough week Y’all Listeners but like 10 episodes from now we’re gonna look back at this and laugh...hopefully. Max gets replaced, Steve finally gets to help the elderly use ‘El Mouse’, Frank keeps trippin’ about his personal goal and Josh is on one hand helping out his community every which way he knows how, but slowly losing his thumbs in the process.
After much anticipation and build up, Steve has completed his wedding and returns to the land of accountability to take his seat back in the House of Y’all...he still gotta do his sh*t doe. This week Frank celebrates making trash, Max levels up in his climbing skills, Josh competes in a short story competition and Steve has a rough landing in his return to the land of accountability.
Steve has finally tied the knot and is off in celebration so the rest of Y’all Boys are out here getting ready to break down how they juggled their goals through this important weekend. Frank gives into his fears of the saga, Max gets hella inspired by nature and a Josh once again adjust his community goal to jump into a political space.
Before we get into this, quick s/o to Kix. I’m not sure what they were going for but they really cornered the market on...that flavor. This week, with Steve out doing wedding duties, Max finds out the hardest thing to climb is his own self doubt, Frank messes up a recipe by adding all of the salt and Josh gets inspired and finally put pen to paper on his one man show!
The wedding looms ahead and the fantasy football of accountability returns by both talking about generational debt as well as what they would do with invulnerability. This week Steve makes sure that all of his bike spokes are authentic, Frank understands the importance of Soy Sauce, Max explains how to translate piano notes to violin notes and Josh has himself a good ol’ fashioned, no nonsense, work with his hands, salt of the earth existential crisis!
Holy sh*t. This got dark quick. Josh’s creative process goes under intense scrutiny, Max takes orders from a 17 year old, that boi Steve forgets to hang out with his bed and Frank’s stress leads him to some tough memories.
What’s an American wedding celebration without a Bachelor Party amirite?! Y’all Boys take a trip to scenic...Homestead, Florida to record another live, in-person podcast at the end of “Steve’s Final Smash”. Steve digs into his new bike fighting game, Frank warns about doing things for clout, Josh learns how to commission a traffic study and Max’s long relationship with American Football is tested.
Every week, Y'all Boys are out here to give you nuggets of wisdom...mostly by showing you how it's not done... Max learns that spite won't make his vision better, the returning Steve realizes the importance of checking his emails, Josh learns about illegally installing speed bumps and Frank learns that it's hard to complete your challenges when you double the amount of them every week.
Steve’s off in Utah and the rest of Y’all Boys are here U..talkin (I apologize for that) about their first week of doing the challenges! Long story short, it isn’t pretty. Frank’s kitchen doesn’t get a lot of play, Max has a run in with a webinar and Josh figures out what to do with the rest of his ‘party favors’.
After enjoying the sun and sliding downstairs in a box, they’re back! With a new saga comes new challenges and Y’all Boys are not holding back. They discuss what they’ve done on their time off, the old challenges they kept (or didn’t keep) and what it truly means to be ‘hood adjacent’. On top of all that, Steve has a major announcement that will change the landscape of this saga, and Y’all Boys, forever...
