Along the way, we address common pitfalls like fragile low backs during bent-over rows, shoulder irritation on fixed-path incline pressing, and calf training that never progresses beyond 3x10.Progression gets an upgrade with daily undulating periodization. One day leans heavy in the 5–8 rep zone, the next expands to 8–12 or 10–15 for volume and skill. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) are traumatic events that occur in childhood and affect your sense of safety. ACEs have been found to be higher in prevalence among those who struggle with food and body image. As the experience of safety diminishes, the likelihood of binge eating increases.This is why you can't shame yourself for your food behaviors. They are not your fault. You've been made to believe that your food choices are your decision and that if you can't “control” yourself with food, then that is your fault. Yet, this couldn't be further from the truth. Your food and body image behaviors are a response to how your body is digesting your life experiences, not something you're actively choosing or out of a lack of willpower, or self sabotage. Your goals help guide the program you'll need to follow to reach your health and fitness goals. Don't contact a personal trainer until you have clearly defined fitness goals you're excited about. A trainer can help clarify a few things for you, but they can't tell you what you should be excited about. That's on you. A good coach will be honest about what they can realistically do for you, and then it's your job to show up, and do the work. A lot of people will just hit Google and contact a personal trainer in their area, or online, and think it's a magic wand for results. This simply isn't true.
