On the first day of the 89th Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo at Dauphin Island, Hayden Pugh, right, of Thomasville caught this giant shark that weighed 595.2 lbs. and measured 13 feet. This was Hayden's first time to enter the competition. He was fishing with Chase Grochowski of Sweet Water. Hayden caught this monster about 12 miles south of Dauphin Island.Article Link

Nathan Harvey took second place in the Gafftopsail Catfish category fishing in the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo's 64th Annual Roy Martin Young Anglers Tournament July 9. He won a rod and reel, cooler, tackle box, gift card and a free pass to the Dauphin Island Estuarium. The 10-year-old fisherman was invited to go with Captain Frank Harvell.
