It’s always an honor when military personnel come on the show. Whether they are active duty or veterans, I believe we all can learn much from each of them. Whether it’s leadership, resiliency, overcoming obstacles and developing the proper mindset and so much more. My next guest is Boyd Renner. Years ago, Boyd went into a Navy Recruiting office in Colorado with a dream on his mind of becoming a NAVY SEAL. Instead of hearing words of encouragement, the recruiter laughed at him and told him he was too small, too weak and he would never become a SEAL. Thank God Boyd didn’t listen to that SHIT and instead used it as his fuel to become a NAVY SEAL, and then he went on to become a member of legendary SEAL TEAM 6 Community where he served with honor and distinction until his retirement. Highly respected and decorated, I had the honor meeting and speaking with Boyd at Conclave of Warriors in December. He truly is an American patriot and hero, and you are going to love the show. We talk about his amazing journey as a SEAL, life lessons for everyone, his work with Endeavor Life Sciences and the next steps in his life. More about Boyd. CWO4 (RET) Boyd Renner grew up in a one-stoplight town in Colorado and joined the military in 1988. After graduating Navy SEAL Training, he served at SEAL Team Two for four years and served over 23 years at NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE DEVELOPMENT GROUP (Seal team six) He earned every rank from E-1 to E-9, and then he transitioned to Chief Warrant Officer in 2010. Boyd served over twenty-eight years in the Navy before retiring in November 2016. Since 9/11, he completed ten tours in Afghanistan, two tours in Iraq, as well as deployments to Albania, Sarajevo, and to the Arabian Peninsula. In 2014 Boyd graduated with honors from Saint Leo University with a degree in Business Admiration with a focus on technology management. Last month he completed his master’s in project management at Penn State University. Boyd is a recognized keynote speaker and is a co-founder of Endeavor Life Sciences, a company that has patented a way to safely add DNA to a new or existing tattoo and jewelry. He is currently the Chief Operations Officer at FINAO Coastal Group in Virginia Beach Virginia, where he resides with this wife of 26 years, Wanda. Today’s show we have an amazing guest named Boyd Renner joining us today. He is a soon to be Alumni from Penn State’s MBA program, a Co-Founder of a startup, and 23-year member of the NSW’s prestigious Development Group. In today’s episode we go over what it takes to get through BUDS and what your mindset should be when going through while tackling what they do to help combat depression and suicide. According to Boyd it is a problem with every unit in the military, even the best still struggle through sometimes. Among the many different strategies used, talking about it is the main way to help someone you think might be off. It may suck, you may even loose a friend. In the end though, which is worse losing a friend for asking/confronting them about what they’re going through, or losing them once they choose to complete suicide. We learn that no matter who you are you go through some stuff. Sometimes just pulling people aside and shooting the s***, getting a coffee, or whatever goes such a long way. “Get out, have a plan before hand, and find that tribe” As many of us know, once you get out, it isn’t all a piece of cake. We learn more about finding a new tribe to replace the one that you left and how to make that one part of your life. We learn a lot about difficulties once you get out from his perspective and how doing something every day to make himself better has kept him grounded. Giving back is always a fantastic idea, as we learn about a walk coming up soon for Cystic Fibrosis. Everyone should check out his and his wife’s page, please donate if you can, share if you can’t. Every dollar helps go to an amazing cause. Have you ever wanted to stay connected to whatever motivates or inspires you? A couple months ago I attended the Military Influencer Conference. There were a lot of great creators and entrepreneurs there, but one group of people stood out to me. I met a few people representing a product called Everence. Everence is a patented technology that allows you to add DNA from a loved one into any new or existing tattoo. I know tattoos are a common thing in the military and Veteran community, and I had my own curiosity, led me to inviting a member of their team onto Borne the Battle to talk about it. Boyd Renner, one of the co-founders of Everence, served in the Navy for 28 years. He served at SEAL Team Two for four years and served over 23 years at Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He's going to talk to us about his time as a Navy SEAL, his transition out of the military, and the unique product Everence.
