First Division striker Garry Thompson couldn't believe it when Brian Clough presented him with a surprise gift after a match. Especially as the big West Bromwich Albion centre forward had just scored a hat-trick against Cloughie's Nottingham Forest in 1984. It's just one of the great memories Thompson shares in this episode. He also talks about working with Paul Hart, Stan Collymore, Ian Wright, Graham Taylor and Johnny Giles. There is also a competition to win an unusual piece of artwork celebrating Cloughie's trophies successes. Garry Thompson's autobiography Don't Believe A Word is available online from https://www.curtis-sport.com/ (Curtis Sport). Green Jumper is presented by the editor of the tribute website https://www.brianclough.com/ (brianclough.com), Marcus Alton.

Peadar Ó Caomhánaigh, the Johnny Giles of the Motherfoclóir High Table, put his money where his mouth was this year, deciding to stand for election. After a gruelling PR-STV count, our boy won his seat and will represent his fellow Clondalkinites for the next five years. He is one of the 10% of South Dublin County Council representatives to have graduated from a single Gaelscoil, Colaiste Cillian in Clondalkin. In today's episode, Peadar tells Darach all about the experience- why democracy is our cricket, Irish in local government and community activism, the Dubliners and the joy of placenames. * NOTE - Clondalkin is not "the village/meadow of the larks". Darach's misunderstanding was based on a misunderstanding of a lyric by Clondalkin native Mic Christopher (whose album "Skylarkin" deserves your attention). --- Contact the show: twitter - @motherfocloir and @theirishfor email - motherfocloir@headstuff.org
