Hull City enjoyed a mixed week, losing 3-1 to Millwall while getting the better of Wrexham on Tuesday – but how does that leave their automatic promotion chances?Excitement is taking hold at Elland Road after Leeds United booked their first FA Cup quarter-final spot since 2003 with a convincing 3-0 win over Norwich City, guaranteeing them a trip to West Ham United for a place in the semi-finals.Doncaster Rovers grabbed a midweek point against Luton Town but are still in need of much more in order to pull themselves clear of trouble at the bottom end of the League One table – can they pull it off?Barnsley earned a hard-fought point against high-flying Cardiff City as well as a 2-1 win over Exeter City, but is their League One campaign in danger of fizzling out to nothing? Finally for this week, we turn to Stuart for his Player of the Week and Leon for his Team of the Week.

David Mooney is joined by The Sun's Martin Blackburn and, from the City Ramble podcast, Amos Murphy to look back over the win at Leeds and the draw with Nottingham Forest. Where have the results left Manchester City in the title race? But have the performances still be trending in the right direction, even if there's been a bit of a knock to the system? After the break to allow the Muslim players to break their Ramandan fast on Saturday, we've spoken to Seemo from City's first Muslim supporters club, Blue Crescent OSC, to get his thoughts on the situation and his experience of what it was like to break his fast in the away end at Elland Road. City against Real Madrid is now the second-most played Champions League tie of all time, so we've had journalist Tom Green look at the numbers behind the meetings. Plus we hear from Madrid fan Oscar Garcia to find out how things are going in the Spanish capital, as we preview the tricky trips to Newcastle and Real. Plus, what's up with Phil Foden's form at the moment, what are the best passes played that you never saw coming, and who are City's irreplaceable players from the past? Oh... And what about the best goalmouth scramble? ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. On this week's show, YP football writers Leon Wobschall and Stuart Rayner join host Mark Singleton to discuss whether there are any genuine causes for concern at Leeds United – following 1-0 defeats to Manchester City and Sunderland, both at Elland Road.Sheffield Wednesday's takeover saga rumbles on, with the panel looking at the work that needs to be done when the club is eventually taken over – although it is proving tough to sell the Owls.Barnsley fell to a 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers meaning they are still some way off from putting together a timely run to make the play-offs.Elsewhere in League One, Doncaster Rovers also had a tough week, following up Saturday's 4-0 defeat at home to promotion favourites Cardiff City with a 1-0 defeat against Stockport County in the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy. What next for Grant McCann's inconsistent team? Hull City maintained their push for promotion in the Championship with wins over QPR and Derby County, before taking a step back in a 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town. How realistic is their push for promotion to the Premier League. This week, Stuart selects the best-performing Yorkshire Team of the week before Leon highlights the standout Player of the Week.
Kev is joined by Adam to review our win over Leeds at Elland Road and then discuss this weekends FA Cup match against Port Vale
A gritty, resolute display ensured the Lads picked up their first away win since October, as RLB's men became only the second side in the last three seasons to win an away game under the light at Elland Road. It was exceptionally pleasing win too, with Sunderland missing several key performers. Dave, Soph, Ian, and Ross get stuck into all the talking points from a big win in Yorkshire. Send us your questions and thoughts by text!! Leave your name in the text!Hello and welcome to the Late Kick Off Football Podcast episode 195! The title race tightens, the set-piece charts get a workout, and somewhere in a technical area Igor Tudor is absolutely losing it.We start with our Moments of the Week (04:00): Brighton are officially back, apparently – two wins on the spin for the first time since November after seeing off Nottingham Forest. At Craven Cottage, Alex Iwobi side-foots Fulham past Spurs and sends Tudor into what can only be described as an early-era existential crisis. And at Anfield, Liverpool stick five past West Ham in a seven-goal thriller that was, paradoxically, not much fun at all – Arne Slot's side now have nine goals from dead balls in 2026. Set-piece FC? You said it, Arne, not us.Then to the heavyweight stuff. Arsenal edge Chelsea 2-1 in a feisty London derby (08:00): Saliba does the corner thing, Timber does the corner thing again, Pedro Neto sees red, and David Raya preserves a five-point cushion at the summit. Over at Old Trafford, Manchester United come from behind to beat Crystal Palace (22:30) – Lacroix scores, Lacroix walks, Bruno conducts, and Benjamin Sesko applies the header as the Red Devils continue their upward hum. And Manchester City grind out a very un-City 1-0 at Elland Road (28:30), Semenyo striking before the break to keep the pressure squarely on Mikel Arteta's leaders.Elsewhere, in ‘one thing we learned (34:00)' Burnley almost join the very exclusive “3-0 down and win 4-3” club… but don't. Newcastle's schedule catches up with them as Everton win at St James's, prompting mutterings of shoogly pegs. Wolves climb above Derby's record-low watermark with victory over Villa, and yes, we do check the xG.And finally, the matchday's unmistakable bin juice: Bournemouth 1-1 Sunderland at 12:30 on a Saturday (42:00). You had to be there. We didn't.All reviews, likes, shares and of course listens are hugely appreciated! Why not leave a review right now, it only takes a second! A tight one at Elland Road but City got it done. Semenyo with the only goal after a smart assist from Rayan Aït-Nouri, and that was enough to edge past Leeds 1–0, a big three points. Dharmesh Sheth is joined by Jonathan Liew, Martin Samuel and Jack Pitt-Brooke to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We kick off with Manchester City's win over Leeds United at Elland Road; and while the sporting headline was Antoine Semenyo's goal pulling Arsenal back to within two points with games level, we also address the City fans booing the Ramadan break and discuss the possible consequences. Then it's over to Arsenal. With 15 goals so far in his debut season, we ask whether Viktor Gyökeres can be the striker to fire them to the title. Jack isn't convinced, arguing that a more mobile profile like Hugo Ekitike might have been the better fit for Mikel Arteta's side.We also turn to Chelsea and ask whether Liam Rosenior's side are slipping further behind Arsenal. Jonathan argues that Arsenal have pulled ahead, widening the gap between the two London rivals. Then, we break down Liverpool's 5-2 win at Anfield against a struggling West Ham. With seven of their last nine league goals coming from corners, could Liverpool be the new kings of set-piece attacks? Finally, Tottenham face a crucial run with two London derbies and a tough trip to Atlético on the horizon. Leeds United moved one point closer to safety at Aston Villa, but should it have been three? In this week's Inside Elland Road Podcast, Graham Smyth and Chris O'Connor react to Leeds' draw with the Premier League's third best team, give Anton Stach the flowers he should have had on Match of the Day, and pick out the top performers at Villa Park. The pair also preview Leeds' clash with Manchester City, and make their score predictions for the Elland Road game.
Anton Stach scores a 35-yard free-kick stunner - his third of the season - but Tammy Abraham's 88th-minute equaliser denies Leeds all three points at Villa Park. We react to Aston Villa 1-1 Leeds United, discuss Karl Darlow's incredible triple save, Farke's counter-attacking masterclass with just 33% possession, and ask whether two points were dropped or one gained. Plus, we preview Saturday's huge clash against Man City at Elland Road (5:30pm, Sky Sports). City are on a five-game winning streak and chasing Arsenal for the title - but Leeds showed in the 3-2 reverse fixture they can compete. Can Elland Road under the lights make the difference? We discuss team news, Stach's fitness, the goalkeeper dilemma and how to stop Erling Haaland. Leeds sit 15th with 31 points, six clear of the drop zone, with a massive run of home games coming up. Marching On Together.

Nottingham Forest had been in good form but were beaten 3-1 in horrible fashion by relegation rivals Leeds United on Friday night to leave them three points above the Premier League relegation zone. Since then reports by the BBC and talkSPORT have said manager Sean Dyche is under increasing pressure with West Ham resurgent below Forest. Plenty of fans want Dyche sacked, but victory over rock bottom Wolves would make it 11 points from six games. Matt Davies is joined by Michael Temple, Pete Blackburn and former Reds defender Kelvin Wilson to discuss the current situation and deflect on the defeat at Elland Road. #nffc #nottinghamforest

Nottingham Forest added another dire performance to a season where there have been too many of them as they lost 3-1 to Leeds United. Forest kicked off the Premier League weekend at Leeds United knowing a win at Elland Road would be massive for them in the relegation race. In this episode we look back at the 4-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday. We chat about the team selection which saw Kai Havertz start, and help bring a different kind of dynamic to the team's midfield set-up, with Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi playing distinct roles too. We also discuss Noni Madueke, a late call-up after Bukayo Saka's warm-up injury, and his contribution with an assist and a belatedly awarded goal. In the second half Viktor Gyokeres missed a chance but also tucked one away well, there were important cameos off the bench from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, and a resounding win was made more impactful by the points Man City dropped yesterday. In part 2 we have questions about Mikel Merino's injury and whether or not Arsenal will move in the market before this evening's deadline, potential beneficiaries of the Spaniard's absence, Declan Rice, Ethan Nwaneri, tomorrow's night Carabao Cup semi-final, and lots more.
