This week we continue with Mark Chapter 11. And here we reach the beginning of the end of the story as Jesus and his disciples reach Jerusalem. The first 7 chapters we focus on Jesus and his ministry in the region of Galilee as he proclaimed the good news of the Kingdom of God slowly revealing himself as the Messiah along the way. Then in chapters 8 through 10 we transitioned as Jesus began his journey south towards Jerusalem and began to unpack what that meant, what his mission truly was and what it means to follow him. Now pivot again as Jesus makes his triumphant entry into Jerusalem for the Passover week ready to confront the religious, political and most importantly spiritual powers of the world.

Continuing with our series called "The Servant King," (A Study of the Gospel of Mark).... Mark Ch 6: 45 - 56. Marks writing style is very different from the other Gospels. Mark is writing from the first hand experience and the eye witness of Peter, one of the 12 original disciples. Mark also differs in that he gives snap shots or rather short radio broadcasts of the main idea/meaning of what is going on. Not breaking everything down in detail like Matthew of John, but to get the information out as soon as possible. Now, most everyone who has heard of Jesus has heard the story of Jesus walking on water. In the same manner Mark doesn't give a whole lot of time describing the miraculous event, be that the case there is still plenty of application we can gather from these verses. In life we will encounter storms, mainly in Death, Health, Finances, Relationships, Anxieties/Mental Health. Now the Disciples were going through a literal storm and were afraid, not even thinking or remembering all that Jesus had already done. When we go through storms of our life we need not to forget what Jesus has done but also that Jesus is right there with us, never left us. When we take our eyes off of Jesus and put them on the problem that's when we sink. In today's teaching, Pastor Ben will lead us through todays study. Continuing with our series “Mark My Words”, today Pastor Jodi teaches from Mark Ch. 15. In the story of Jesus going to the cross there is a subplot involving the custom in which a prisoner was set free. A “notorious criminal” named Barabbas, was released rather than Jesus at the crowd's insistence.  Barabbas, like us, went free and instead Jesus paid the penalty for his crimes. What is our relationship to this generous act by our Savior Jesus? We will examine the lives of many who were involved in this seemingly random story, which is a significant example of the Good News of Jesus Christ.Key Scriptures:Mark 15:6-15, Mat 27:16-17, Eph 2:1-5, Rom 5:8

Continuing with our series “Mark My Words”, today Pastor Jodi teaches from Mark Ch. 9 on how Jesus is a God of paradox—His Kingdom principle is that the way down is the way up and if we want to become great, we need to become servants to those who cannot repay us, nor serve us back. This is tested most in families. Fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and children are all called to lay down their lives for others. This Father's Day we honor dads and offer some practical ways to become the greatest!Key Scriptures:Mark 9:33-37, Gen 1:27, Eph 5:21-33, 6:4, Mat 20:26-28

True fulfillment can come only in doing this, and there are practical means to understand what Jesus meant and how to live this principle out in our daily lives.Key Scriptures:Mark 8, Ecc 2:10-11, Mat 10:38, Luk 14:23, 9:23, Gal 2:20

Continuing with our series “Mark My Words”, today Pastor Ira teaches from Mark Ch. 7 where the Pharisees show up again to harass and question Jesus. This time, the disciples are found eating with unclean hands and the Pharisees ask Jesus why don't they follow the traditions of our culture. Jesus in His wisdom cuts to the quick and restates the question having to be about what a life of worship really is. Jesus sets us free from the burden of man's tradition and releases us to live an amazing life of worship with Him.Key Scriptures:Mark 7:1-37, Isa 29:13, Mat 6:7, Rom 8:15, 12:1, 11:33-36
