Teach Us To Number Our Days by Lettered Streets Covenant
Christian Sermons from Calvary Chapel Greenmeadow, North Kingstown, RI
God looks at time different from us. While we can plan for the future, it is more important to decide how we will live today. Since we do not know how much life we have, spend time in devotion to God each day. Serving Him is the only thing that will last.
All our days pass away under your wrath; we finish our years with a moan. Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away. If only we knew the power of your anger! Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due. Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90: 9-12)
In light of recent events with the violence displayed in several schools, the assassination of Charlie Kirk as well as the stabbing of the young woman on the bus, we are seeing a lot of evil displayed in our country! Let's talk about it!#jesus #podcast #charliekirk

MONDAY MANNA - "Teach us to number our days" (Bro. John Vijay Abraham) - 18th August 2025
This is Pastor Tom Arnould welcoming you to the Good News Radio Broadcast. On today's program I will be sharing a message titled "How to Maximize Your Life." Psalm 90:12 reads, "So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." Our time on earth is limited, so it is vital that we use it for the glory of God.
Psalm 90 is a powerful, poetic reflection on the brevity of life and the urgency of using our time well. In a culture of distraction and busyness, we need a message that will challenge and inspire us to live with purpose. Join us as we learn to live intentionally, think eternally, and make each moment count.
Series: PsalmsService: Sun AMType: SermonSpeaker: Ryan BoyerPs. 90: Teach us to number our daysOne of the first interesting details you’ll note about Ps. 90 is that the heading says, “A Prayer of Moses,” which makes this the earliest psalm in the book of Psalms.Psalm 90 can be divided into four main sections, and if you treat each of these sections like an ongoing sentence, then that may help to remember the overall content: “God is eternal (vv. 1-2), but man is fleeting and frail (vv. 3-6) because of his sin (vv. 7-11). So (i.e. therefore), teach us to number our days (vv. 12-17).vv. 1-2 - God…
What happens at the end of our life? That is a question that many don't slow down long enough to ask. If we can take the time to stop and dwell on the auther and finisher of our lives than we should also evaluate our living. In Psalm 90 Pastor Fikre Prince shares that there are three things that help us give an honest evaluation of our decisions and direction in life.Text: Psalm 90:5-12Sermon Summary:Big Idea: The unexamined life is the wasted life. Key Question: How do we examine our lives well? 1. Confess our sins before God. (vv. 5-8)2. Contemplate the brevity of human life. (vv. 9-10)3. Consider the greatness of God. (vv. 11-12)
Psalm 90 | Ps. Farid Widjaya. Overview: Let us live with an eternal perspective because our God is everlasting, holy, and merciful.I. Recognize God's eternity (vv. 1-6)II. Acknowledge God's hatred for sin (vv. 7-11)III. Pursue what is eternal (vv. 12-17)
Our fays on Earth are limited and we do not know how long we have left. After our life, we will face the judgment of God, so we must be aware of life's fleeting nature and dedicate the time we have to following God's will, as if each day could be our last.
God begins the subject of stewardship in the very first chapter of the Bible. Typically, when the word "stewardship" is mentioned, most people think of money. It involves much more than money. It involves all our response to God in life.
This is Pastor Tom Arnould welcoming you to the Good News Radio Broadcast. Psalm 90 reads, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." Our days on earth are limited. That's why it's so important that we use them wisely. It's been said, "Give God your life. He can do more with it than you can."
The Psalms are a collection of 150 Songs carefully placed inside 5 books of Psalms: Book 1:1-41, Book 2:42-72, Book: 3:73-89, Book 4:90-106, Book 5:107-150. The first three books are primarily lament Psalms. Sadness, anger, and bewilderment are prayed out. The final two books include two very angry Psalms, 109 and 137, but these books are dominated by Praise. The final six Psalms thunder with the praise of the "I Am "God. The five books of Psalms are clearly intended as responsive speech to the five books of the Pentateuch, Genesis - Deuteronomy. The Pentateuch is the story of "I am" calling Israel to be His crisis relief for the entire creation. The Psalms are prayed from the time of David, 1000 B.C., from inside the story the Hebrew scripture tells. The Psalter was not collected into its current form until the 4th century B.C. By then Israel had been in exile for two hundred years. Yet the Israel of the 2nd Temple, 530 B.C. to 70, AD., is singing her faith in the rebuilt temple and those living outside Judea are singing inside synagogues throughout the Roman empire. The Psalms were Jesus' prayer book and were prayed by the early church. (Matt. 27:46, Col. 3:16, Eph. 5:19) We will pray and praise a representative collection of the Great Psalms of the Psalter -Psalms 1, 2, 3, 8, 16, 19, 22, 23, 42, 51, 73-74, 88-89, 90, 104-106, 109, 110, and 139. We will pray out to the Lord God our emotions and struggles, but we will continue praying through from confusion, doubt, and anger to more clarity, trust, and peace. We will be encouraged, rebuked, and discipled by the ancient Songs of Israel, Jesus, and our Church Fathers and Mothers. The "I Am," the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, will bless us as we draw near to God together. Come join us on the Way.
How do we number our days? Why number them?

One of the many recurring messages found in your King James Bible has to do with time and the length of our days here upon the Earth. Many a man, and woman, have found themselves 'in departing' without ever realizing that we all come with an expiration date. Moses had one, Aaron had one, Paul had one, and Christian, so do you, and it is in your best interest to find out a little something about it. That's the subject of my message today for this Sunday Service. One main reason for wanting to uncover what God has to say about our appointed time is because we all will give an account for how we spent it. Do you realize that time is the only currency that people spend without ever checking their balance? Lost people will give an account for their time at the Great White Throne Judgment found in Revelation 20, and saved people will give an account for how we spent our time at the Judgment Seat of Christ found in places like 2 Corinthians 5:10. The message of this lost world has always been "Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think", and the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ is to "redeem the time for the days are evil". Only you can decide how you spend the time you have left, but saved or lost, you will give an account.
Psalm 90, pt 1 by Dr. Zach Kilpatrick.
In this message, Pastor Robert breaks down Psalm 90, the oldest of all the Psalms. We see Moses contemplate the eternal, everlasting, righteous nature of God and how temporary and jacked up man is in comparison to God. We learn that we have limited time on earth to carry out an eternal work for God.

Jon Bloom | When we learn to number our days, we see just how brief life is — briefer than we tend to assume, and far too brief to waste.

By Robin Webber in Las Vegas, NV, Redlands, CA, San Diego, CA - July 27, 2024 - Recently we were jolted with news of an assassination attempt on a political candidate. 2"inches from death—all in a moment! Questions have been asked: 1) Will it change the candidate's demeanor? 2) Will it change the vitriol of the American political process? Time will tell. The *truly big question and take away is do you and I recognize how fragile our own existence is? So often we push off life to "tomorrow" when the reality is all we have for now is today--and actually just "the moment" to honor and glorify a God who has invested in us. Let's seize upon and embrace Jesus' example and how He utilized the time allotted to Him while on earth.
