This week, join us as we revisit our episode on The Do's and Don'ts of Depositions. Original Air Date: July 9, 2021. Whether you are testifying in your personal capacity or on behalf of an insurance company, being deposed can be nerve-wracking. Proficient opposing counsel will work to find inconsistencies and prey on weak testimony to discredit a witness, and both sides will judge the witness to evaluate settlement positions. Lack of preparation can mean missing out on resolving the matter before trial, and can harm the case before the jury is even seated. But it doesn't have to be that way! This week, Rebecca welcomes special guest, Mark Demian, for a how-to guide for deponents or witness who are being deposed regarding an insurance claim. Mark provides simple and effective guidelines to encourage successful and effective testimony.
Ross sits down with Josh Spilker, Content Marketing & SEO Lead at AirOps, to unpack the rise of the content engineer — what it means, why it matters, and how it's reshaping SEO and content operations. They dive into Ryan Law's critique, hybrid-AI workflows, org-chart ownership, automation opportunities, and why Josh believes AI doesn't kill content — it rewires strategy. Plus: the “context librarian” concept, content refresh automation, spotting slipping queries, using multiple models together, and avoiding low-quality AI traps. Message by Pastor Doug Bunnell, recorded live November 9, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church of Bellingham. Scripture read by Kristen Frankland.Created and Treated EquallyIn the Kingdom all people are equal so we live out the subversive resistance by treating all people with equality. What transformation happened in Onesimus's life? How does this change things? How does verse 16 challenge cultural norms of the time (i.e., slavery)? "No longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother..."How can you apply Paul's appeal for reconciliation in your own relationships? What does Paul's willingness to pay Onesimus's debt reveal about his character? How does this letter speak to issues of human dignity, equality, and Christian fellowship—especially across social or economic divides?Philemon1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother,To our beloved coworker Philemon, 2 to our sister Apphia, to our fellow soldier Archippus, and to the church in your house:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.4 I thank my God always when I mention you in my prayers, 5 because I hear of your love for all the saints and your faith toward the Lord Jesus. 6 I pray that the partnership of your faith may become effective as you comprehend all the good that we share in Christ. 7 I have indeed received much joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, my brother.8 For this reason, though I am more than bold enough in Christ to command you to do the right thing, 9 yet I would rather appeal to you on the basis of love—and I, Paul, do this as an old man and now also as a prisoner of Christ Jesus. 10 I am appealing to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I have become during my imprisonment. 11 Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me. 12 I am sending him, that is, my own heart, back to you. 13 I wanted to keep him with me so that he might minister to me in your place during my imprisonment for the gospel, 14 but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your good deed might be voluntary and not something forced. 15 Perhaps this is the reason he was separated from you for a while, so that you might have him back for the long term, 16 no longer as a slave but more than a slave, a beloved brother—especially to me but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.17 So if you consider me your partner, welcome him as you would welcome me. 18 If he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge that to me. 19 I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand: I will repay it. I say nothing about your owing me even your own self. 20 Yes, brother, let me have this benefit from you in the Lord! Refresh my heart in Christ. 21 Confident of your obedience, I am writing to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask.22 One thing more: prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping through your prayers to be restored to you.23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends greetings to you, 24 and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my coworkers.25 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

This week on Down the Garden Path, Joanne shares her passion for indoor gardening with practical winter houseplant care tips and a reminder that there's always something new to learn and grow. Topics discussed: 1. From Annuals to Houseplants It's time to turn your attention to houseplants as gardening shifts indoors. Don't rush out to buy new plants: friends and family often have extras or cuttings to share. 2. Winter Care Basics During shorter days and lower light levels, houseplants slow down their growth. Do not fertilize in winter; they're not actively growing. Keep watering moderately: it's better to underwater than overwater. Use a moisture meter or finger test to check the soil before watering. 3. Refresh and Repot Check plants for dryness, dust, or signs they've outgrown their pots. Wipe dusty leaves with a damp cloth to help them absorb light. Consider repotting if roots are showing through the drainage holes. Use potting soil, not garden soil, and choose soil types suited to plant varieties (succulents, orchids, etc.). Avoid decorative pots without drainage for valuable plants. 4. Easy Propagation and Gift Ideas Take cuttings from plants like pothos, philodendron, and peperomia. Start them in water using clear containers to monitor root growth. Plant swaps are a fun and inexpensive way to expand your collection. Propagated plants make meaningful, affordable holiday gifts. 5. Learning and Experimenting Joanne shares her experiences with low-maintenance plants (snake plant, ZZ plant, pothos). Recently inspired to try more demanding varieties like Alocasia. Discusses challenges like insect issues and learning about proper soil mixes. 6. The Joy and Benefits of Houseplants Houseplants add life, colour, and calm to indoor spaces during the winter. Handling soil can improve mood and mental health. Every room benefits from having at least one plant. Notes the outdated NASA air-purifying study—plants don't clean air significantly but do add humidity and beauty. Being lost is not too uncommon for me. For one, I possess a terrible sense of direction, but the main issue stems from not knowing where I wanted to be. I applied these epiphanies to my journey in life, and the results were nothing short of phenomenal. And so in this episode, I'll share my experience on the things you can do to remain focused. Here are my 3 key takeaways:Be clear: Before I even began my journey, the goal in my mind was clear. However, what was not clear was the intention behind that goal and the problems I would face on my path there. Being able to clearly outline all these things granted me an edge when it came to overcoming obstacles in my path. Always remember: identifying the problem is half of the solution.Attentiveness is rewarded: As you cruise along in life, it becomes really easy to rely on the many conveniences and tools afforded to you. But maintaining a certain level of vigilance when it comes to progression is a trait that will only reap rewards and never cost you. I cannot stress how important it has been to check every box in your endeavors, and I believe that you will come to find the same.Ignore everything else: Achieving your goals is merely a by-product on the path to true self-mastery. However, if you cannot ignore baseless criticisms and unfounded opinions, then even that will be hard to achieve. Now, I'm not saying to simply throw every opinion out the window but maintaining a steadfast dedication to your dreams is necessary if you ever hope to achieve them.Ready to Master Your Mindset, Mission, and Message? If today's episode spoke to you, don't just listen—step behind the curtain and join the Journey Feed. Our simple acts of generosity are part of a continuum of God's reciprocal work of grace. God blesses us, then blesses others through us, and then we are blessed in return, which enables us to give thanks to God. It is a true full circle of grace.Find out more at HydeParkUMC.org/NextSteps

Ps Az Hamilton - Rewind, Refresh, Renew "The Power of God"
Building custom GPTs for real work, not just party tricks is tricky. That's why I invited Len Ward to sit in my guest chair. He's a former Wall Street pro turned agency builder, now leading Comexis, and he has the scars to prove what works and what does not. We covered where these tools shine, where they trip you up, and how to keep them sounding like you, not a committee of the internet. Key points The idea Build a focused GPT that acts like a virtual team member. Feed it your processes, products, locations, and goals so it can help with tasks like onboarding, strategy, and client communication. What can go wrong Trusting outputs without review, letting the model drift from your voice over time, and uploading sensitive info or leaving training on so your data fuels everyone else's bot. What we would do differently Lock down privacy settings, create prompt playbooks, retrain with fresh voice samples on a set schedule, and keep humans in the loop for approval. What went wrong I learned the hard way that voice drifts. I had the GPT read my work, it started strong, then wandered off into generic advice land. Len called out why. If we keep feeding broad material and never course correct, the model forgets our tone. Another stumble is data carelessness. Uploading client details or financials, even as examples, can create risk. One more trap is blind faith. These tools are fast, not flawless. They still need a final pass from human eyes. Actionable takeaways for women running the show Scope the job Name one clear role for each GPT, such as Onboarding Coordinator or Content Draft Assistant. Narrow focus leads to better answers. Set privacy controls In settings, turn off training on your data. Do not upload personal or financial info. If you must, scrub names and use your own codes. Build a prompt playbook Ask the GPT to write the top ten prompts it responds to best. Save them and start sessions with those prompts to keep work on track. Refresh the voice Every few weeks, feed three to five recent posts, emails, or show notes and say, learn this voice again. Then ask for a short style checklist it must follow. Require a human check Before anything goes public, the content owner signs off. Think of GPT as the fast assistant, you are the editor in chief. Collect and centralize content Keep a clean library in Drive or Dropbox. Use clear folders for articles, FAQs, product sheets, and case studies. These become your training set. Answer real questions Watch chatbot logs or support tickets. Turn every repeated question into a page, a post, or a short video. If your site does not solve a problem as fast as ChatGPT, visitors leave. Forget silver bullets Old school SEO tricks are not the ticket. Strong brands with deep, helpful content win more often in AI answers. Keep writing, keep linking, keep it useful. Why this matters now We are shifting from search and retrieve to solve my problem. Custom GPTs, used wisely, can speed that shift inside your business, from onboarding to content to customer care. Used carelessly, they dilute your voice and increase risk. The good news is the fix is simple habits, not magic. About Len Ward Len Ward is a former Wall Street institutional equities professional, agency builder, and now Managing Partner of Commexis—an AI consulting firm helping businesses replace outdated marketing with intelligent systems that think. With over two decades of experience spanning finance, e-commerce, and digital marketing, Len brings a rare perspective on disruption cycles. He believes traditional agencies are finished and that AI is the operating system for the next decade of business. Refresh!A Fresh Perspective: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25Sowing and reaping in the spiritual realm: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Galatian 6:7-10, NIV)Acts of the Flesh vs. Fruit of the Spirit The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:19-23, NIV)Watch out! Possible seed contamination!“I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” (Romans 7:15, NIV) The Sower influences the size of the crop but God gives the growth and ultimately controls the size of the crop.Good news: “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Corinthians 9:6, NIV)Bad news: “They sow to the wind and reap the whirlwind,” (Hosea 8:7, NIV)Where do I start? The bees are uneasy, the lavender blooms shy, and the village well stands lower than it should. Then comes the gentle knock at Nell Rowan's door.Mrs. Harcourt — back straight as a chimney brush, hat pinned like duty itself — appears to remind Nell of something long forgotten: a pact once kept by the Lavender Ladies, a group of wise women who quietly tended not only to the people of the village but to the land itself. As Nell and Mrs. Harcourt walk together through hedgerows and memories, they revive the threefold Summer Pact —Return, Refresh, Remember — bringing lavender and rosemary, cool water, and tokens of gratitude back to the places that have been overlooked. The story unfolds like a spell of gentle repair, reminding us that when we tend what's frayed — the soil, the edges, the heart — the world begins to breathe easier too.Blending soft mystery, folklore, and the comfort of English village life, The Lavender Ladies' Summer Pact continues the world of Whispering from the Rowan Tree, offering calm, wisdom, and renewal in equal measure.Themes:• Renewal and remembrance• The quiet power of women's traditions• Healing through ritual and kindness• Nature, intuition, and tending the edges of lifeIncludes:• A reflective narrative featuring Nell Rowan and Mrs. Harcourt• A guided visualization: A Small Summer Pact You Can Keep• A closing blessing — “May your path be kind underfoot, and may the lavender remember your name.”Perfect for reflective evenings, gentle sleep, or moments when you need to remember that small acts of care still matter.

Bookwaves/Artwaves is produced and hosted by Richard Wolinsky. Links to assorted local theater & book venues Chelsea Quinn Yarbro (1942-2025) Tanith Lee (1947-2015) This program honors two master practitioners of horror, fantasy and science fiction, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and Tanith Lee, with two interviews back to back. In the first, in 1983, Tanith Lee is interviewed by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. In the second, in 1979, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro is interviewed by Richard Wolinsky. Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, who died on August 31, 2025 at the age of 82, was best known for her historical horror novels featuring the vampire the Count Saint.-Germain. Along the way, she wrote in several genres, including science fiction and westerns, and wrote over seventy novels, along with several short stories. Along with her writing, which includes a series of books about a channeler, titled Messages from Michael, she was a cartographer, palm reader, and composer. In 2009, she received the Bram Stoker Lifetime Achievement Award from the Horror Writers Association. She also wrote novels under several pseudonyms. In this podcast, Chelsea Quinn Yarbro joins Richard A. Lupoff to speak with Tanith Lee. In the second interview, she talks about her vampire hero. Count Saint-Germain, and about writing historical horror fiction. It was recorded shortly after her second San Germain novel, The Palace, was published, which would put it in late 1978 or early 1979.. Tanith Lee, who died of breast cancer in 2015 at the age of 67, also wrote fantasy, science fiction and horror, and her work is considered to be similar and a forerunner of the work of Neil Gaiman. She received a lifetime achievement award from the World Horror Convention in 2013. Nominated for several awards for her novels and short stories, she won the 1980 British Fantasy Award for her novel, Death's Master. In this first undated tnterview from Probabilities, most likely recorded at BayCon in San Jose in November 1983, Tanith Lee is interviewed by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and Richard A. Lupoff. This is the only interview conducted by Quinn Yarbro for Probabilities. Tanith Lee's novel set during the French Revolution was eventually retitled The Gods Are Thirsty, and was finally published in 1996. You've been listening to an interview with Tanith Lee, conducted by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro and Richard A. Lupoff for the Probabilities radio program on KPFA. This time in the grape miniseries -- a refresh on one of my all time favorite grapes -- Riesling. This versatile grape has a long history of quality, and is highly misunderstood by most people. I review the long and noble history of the grape, starting in 1435 and talk about how it wound up in places like the US and Australia, where it makes world class examples. I cover Riesling in the vineyard, in the cellar, and what makes a wine sweet or dry. I even explain a bit about the International Riesling Foundation scale! I hope this overview gives you a new apprecaition for this grape that can be dry, sparkling, off-dry, sweet, and everything in between. Full show notes and all back episodes are on Patreon. We feel like we are doing the right things but the scale is not moving or our momentum has dipped. It happens. It's normal. It does not mean you have failed or that you need to scrap everything. It simply means it is time to reset your basics, tighten your foundation, and remind yourself of what actually works. In this episode, I walk through the practical checks I do when I need a refresh, the mindset shifts that help me stay in forward motion, and how to keep this feeling temporary instead of turning it into a restart. In this episode I cover:Why a refresh is not a restartChecking your TDEE and app settings for accuracyWhen to move from eyeballing to measuringSpread, sprinkle, pour foods and how they creep up fastLetting yourself have the food you love without restrictionWater intake and why it still mattersStaying present and mindful with your foodHow to manage the mental and emotional side when it feels toughThe reminder that this only lasts if you stop tryingLooking for help on your weight loss journey? Welcome to EO Radio Show – Your Nonprofit Legal Resource. I'm Cynthia Rowland, and EO Radio Show episode 141 is a refresh of episode 37, covering key questions to ask when thinking about launching a new charitable organization. Recently, I've seen a surge in interest from clients who want to incorporate a new charity. At the same time as I'm recording this episode, the federal government is still in shutdown. The IRS recently announced on October 21 that during the lapse in appropriations, applications for determination letters for tax-exempt status will not be processed. Even before the shutdown, applications had slowed. Generally, they could take a year or more to be processed. We have been seeing straightforward grant-making foundation applications being processed in about four months. Very small organizations with budgets of less than $50,000 and using Form 1023 EZ, we're getting their IRS determination letters a little bit quicker than the current state of play, but those organizations with substantial budgets had to plan on a long lead time before getting their IRS determination letter. Some new organizations will be comfortable beginning operations before the IRS letter is received, and that is feasible if there are grant funds available that are not dependent on that IRS determination letter. But for new charities that are depending on substantial contributions from individuals, grants from private foundations, or gifts from donor-advised funds, that IRS determination letter becomes more important. So, with all that being said, it is more important than ever for today's founders to carefully consider all the requirements for the startup of a new charity so that they can launch it as quickly as possible. This episode covers key questions to ask when considering forming a new nonprofit. In addition to the tax compliance concerns, there are also state law requirements and practical considerations to think about. Q & A: - Mike from Little Rock, AR, is listing his house for sale after three years of piecemeal remodeling and wants to know the best way to advertise the improvements. He should create an inventory list of all that was done, including dates for things like energy-saving updates, as this detail is very appealing to buyers. - Marty in Cape May, NJ, has a tankless water heater and is frustrated that it takes almost five minutes for hot water to reach her kitchen sink. We explain that the issue is the physical distance the water must travel through the pipes, not the type of water heater. - Mark in Ohio is attempting a budget kitchen remodel and is considering IKEA cabinets, but is concerned about their durability. We confirm that our experience with IKEA kitchen cabinets suggests they are good quality, very well priced, and are notably easy to install. - Mike in Florida recently moved and had an AC technician recommend installing a UV light. We suggest that the technician was likely trying to upsell and give Mike some other useful tips besides relying on an expensive UV light. - Larry in Connecticut needs to replace two aging water heaters in his attic and asked whether a recirculating pump or a tankless heater is the better solution. We caution against adding a recirculating pump to the old units and note that while a tankless heater is small and efficient, Larry should consider whether one small unit could meet all his hot water needs. MDJ Script/ Top Stories for October 29th Publish Date: October 29th Commercial: From the BG Ad Group Studio, Welcome to the Marietta Daily Journal Podcast. Today is Wednesday, October 29th and Happy Birthday to Richard Dryfuess I’m Keith Ippolito and here are the stories Cobb is talking about, presented by Times Journal 2025 Smyrna Veterans Day Ceremony MUST Ministries opens clinic, offering affordable medical care Metro Atlanta transit payment system refresh coming soon All of this and more is coming up on the Marietta Daily Journal Podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe! BREAK: INGLES 3 STORY 1: 2025 Smyrna Veterans Day Ceremony The 2025 Smyrna Veterans Day Ceremony kicks off at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial on King Street. It’s free—parking too—and open to everyone. If it rains? No problem, they’ll move it to the Smyrna Community Center. This year’s keynote speaker is retired U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. David “Shark” Waldrop, a man with stories that sound straight out of a movie. Back in 1967, flying an F-105 Thunderchief over North Vietnam, Waldrop chased down MiG-17s at MACH 1.3, dodged missiles, and took out enemy fighters with nerves of steel and a 20mm Gatling gun. Waldrop flew 105 combat missions, survived being shot down, and earned three Silver Stars, three Distinguished Flying Crosses, and 12 Air Medals. After the Air Force, he spent 32 years flying for Delta and even flew F-8 Crusaders as a Marine reservist. He’s a Nashville native, now living in Cobb County with his wife, Sue, and their two grown sons. Don’t miss the chance to hear his incredible story. STORY 2: MUST Ministries opens clinic, offering affordable medical care MUST Ministries just took a big step forward: on-site health care. On Oct. 1, the nonprofit opened the MUST Care Clinic, offering affordable—or even free—primary and behavioral health care. “Our ‘why’ is simple,” said MUST CEO Ike Reighard at the ribbon cutting. “We’re here to serve our neighbors in need.” The clinic, staffed by Eastchester Family Services, replaces their mobile medical unit with a permanent space, open three days a week. In just 10 days, they’ve already treated 65 people. MUST raised $1.4 million to open the clinic but needs $600,000 annually to keep it running. The clinic, located at 1260 Cobb Parkway North, is open Monday through Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. STORY 3: Metro Atlanta transit payment system refresh coming soon Heading downtown for a game or concert? If you’re taking MARTA, get ready for some changes—fare gates are getting a 21st-century upgrade. MARTA announced Monday it’s rolling out new contactless fare equipment. The new gates will be easier to use (no more fumbling with cards), and a smartphone app is on the way, letting riders pay with a mobile wallet. Finally. The “Better Breeze” system will also expand to CobbLinc and Ride Gwinnett soon. But don’t toss your old Breeze card just yet—MARTA says the full switch won’t happen until spring. Fares? Still $2.50. “We’re keeping prices steady, but the system? Long overdue for an upgrade,” said MARTA Interim CEO Jonathan Hunt. Oh, and in a few years, you might not even need a wallet at all. Thanks to a new Georgia law, digital driver’s licenses are coming, though police have until 2027 to get the tech to scan them. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.799.6810 for more info. We’ll be right back. Break: INGLES 3 STORY 4: KSU associate professor leads effort to strengthen juvenile justice programs through data analysis Every year, hundreds of kids leave Georgia’s juvenile justice system, hoping for a fresh start. But staying on that path? That’s the hard part. Kennesaw State’s Austin Brown is tackling it head-on with the Annual Recidivism Report, funded by a $62,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. Brown’s team digs into the data—messy, complicated, real-world data—to figure out what’s working and what’s not. “These aren’t just numbers,” Brown said. “They’re kids. Real kids with real stories.” One big takeaway? The gap between male and female recidivism rates is shrinking, a sign that programs targeting young men are making a difference. For Brown, it’s not just about stats—it’s about second chances. STORY 5: All Saints’ Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Marietta First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, over on Church Street, is inviting the community to join them for All Saints’ Sunday on Nov. 2 in the Great Hall. All Saints’ Day started as a way to honor early Christian martyrs, but over the centuries, it’s become a time to remember anyone whose faith has shaped our lives. Worship services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m., with gratitude and reflection at the heart of it all. Then, from 5 to 6 p.m., there’s a special concert and remembrance service led by Rev. Joe Evans and the Chancel Choir. Expect music selections from Dolly Parton, John Rutter, and Craig Courtney, plus a chance to add loved ones’ names to a prayer weave—a beautiful symbol of love’s lasting connection. Questions? Reach out to Kelly Dewar at kellydewar@fpcmarietta.org or 770-427-0293. Break: STORY 6: Police: Marietta man killed in shooting involving Smyrna police died of self-inflicted wound A Marietta man who died after a confrontation with Smyrna police last Friday morning was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Smyrna Police. Darrick Desawn Rooks, 46, was found dead in a stolen U-Haul truck after a traffic stop near Concord Road and McClinden Avenue. Initially, the GBI reported that a gunshot was fired from the U-Haul, prompting officers to return fire. However, Smyrna police later clarified that Rooks’ fatal injury was self-inflicted, a conclusion confirmed by the Cobb County Medical Examiner. No officers were hurt. The GBI is still investigating, with findings to be reviewed by the Cobb County District Attorney. STORY 7: SNAP benefits to halt Nov. 1 due to government shutdown Starting Nov. 1, SNAP benefits won’t be available if the federal government shutdown drags on, the Georgia Department of Human Services announced Friday. SNAP, which is fully funded by Congress, relies on federal dollars—money that’s now tied up. The USDA told state officials there’s not enough funding to cover November benefits. For now, recipients can still use whatever’s left on their EBT cards, but after Nov. 1? Those cards won’t work. “Plan ahead,” Human Services urged. “Shop for what you need now.” Check balances at connectebt.com or the mobile app. And don’t submit duplicate applications—it won’t speed things up. We’ll have closing comments after this. Break: INGLES 3 Signoff- Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Marietta Daily Journal Podcast. This month, I'm slowing down — not to plan more, but to see more. In today's episode, I'm talking about something I believe every microschool founder needs before stepping into a new year: an Autumn Audit. I know how it feels to get caught up in the whirlwind of running your school — the lesson plans, family communications, finances, tours, and events. But if we're not careful, we can move so fast that we stop seeing the beauty of what we've built. The Autumn Audit is a moment to pause and look at your school — or even just the dream of your school — through new eyes. Whether you're already open and serving families or you're just beginning to build, this reflection process helps you realign your space, your systems, and your spirit with the vision God first placed in your heart. ✨ In This Episode, I'm Sharing: Why reflection is the most important — and often most neglected — leadership skill for microschool founders. The real reason burnout happens (and how to course-correct before January). The simple questions I'm asking myself during my own Autumn Audit at Lighthouse Learning. How to see your microschool through the eyes of your parents, staff, and students — and use that feedback to grow. What's included inside this month's Microschool Masterminds experience, including: My Autumn Audit Workbook A Kid-Friendly School Audit Checklist (students love this one!) The Staff & Community Reflection Guide And the Parent Post-Tour Follow-Up Template to turn curiosity into connection.

Ever feel trapped or directionless in your journey—personally or professionally? In this episode, I revisit my own story of career pivots, the power of taking action, and how understanding your emotions (yes, I use a “joy meter”) can unlock the true clarity you've been searching for.If you're feeling stuck, I promise: action and self-awareness can change your trajectory. Here are My 3 Key Takeaways:1. Stuck vs. Lost: Feeling stuck doesn't mean you're lost—you might just be on the right path but pointed the wrong way. Frustration can cloud your judgment, but clarity comes when you separate the two and keep moving.2. Clarity Comes Through Action: You can't think your way to clarity; you have to act. Paying attention to how your choices affect your well-being (like my “joy meter” system) is essential in steering yourself back on course.3. It's Okay to Step Away: Sometimes, the bravest and healthiest thing you can do is stop doing what no longer serves you, even if you've invested time and energy. Recognizing when to move on—whether from a job, commitment, or relationship—is how you find true alignment and growth.Ready to Master Your Mindset, Mission, and Message? If today's episode spoke to you, don't just listen—step behind the curtain.
